Mai Uchiha

History: Mai had been born the youngest of seven, this not including her adopted sister. She was different from the very beginning, being born with a pale complexion, red eyes, and white hair; physically traits that weren't associated with one part of the Uchiha clan. But unfortunately for the young child, she was born with such traits and the Uchiha elders weren't very tolerate with such a thing. From a young age, Mai was forced to prove her worthiness so that she may remain inside of the clan. Because if she couldn't prove that she could become an important asset to her clan, than she would be banished, and would never see her family again.

Mai hadn't spent a lot of time with her siblings, they being cruel though she knew they were only following the example the other Uchiha adults set. Her mother was kind to her, but she could tell it pained the woman to be associated with an albino Uchiha, as her clansmen began to call her. Her father was the only one who sincerely cared for her, and set it upon himself to train Mai so that she wouldn't have to leave. But even with her father's love and support, she felt alone. She wondered if staying with the Uchiha clan was worth it.

When Mai was 7, Himeko arrived within the household. The young girl was too different from the other Uchiha, and wasn't even an Uchiha. She wondered why the elders had permitted a non-Uchiha to stay within the clan compound, but she only wondered. She never questioned her parents about the mysterious baby with red hair. Mai actually took it upon herself to care for the little girl, since they both were the same. She wanted her new sister to grow up as a confident person, and she wanted her to grow up to be strong.

When Mai wasn't training or proving her worth, she was attending to Himeko. And when she had turned 8, she had taken it upon herself to train even harder. 8 was the time one entered the academy, and training would become harder so that she would remain at the top. Upon entering the academy, she was acclaimed a prodigy, Mai never agreed with such notions. When the academy let out, she was out in the field training, and when it got dark she was at home taking care of Himeko.

Mai had been only 10 when she had graduated from the academy, out preforming her peers. She immediately started to train with her teammates, under the supervision of their sensei. One day she took a 2-year-old Himeko to meet her teammates, something the little redhead was happy about. Mai allowed Himeko to watch her older sister train in hopes of awing her little sister and aspiring her to become a Shinobi as well. The trick worked, and when she wasn't out training or on missions, she spent her days in the forest teaching Himeko how to throw projectiles.

2 years pass by. Himeko was now 4, and Mai was 12. She would be entering the Chunin exams that year. Her sensei had finally thought the squad ready to face the challenges the exams would hold. Thus Mai prepared to travel to Suna for the exams, her sister not wanting her to leave. She couldn't understand why at that point in time, and decided she was worried she would die. With many promises to return safely, Mai left her sister in the care of her father before handing out to Suna.

The trial to become a Chunin was much harder than she had anticipated, and there were times she was afraid that she would die. But the promises she had made to Himeko was the thing that encouraged her to live. She had a couple brushes with death during the exams, as did her teammates. But these brushes with death had allowed her to awaken the first tomoe of her Sharigan. Mai believes that, along with wanting to see Himeko again, were the only reasons why she had survived. And became Chunin.

Mai came home from Suna a Chunin, and not much changed for her. Himeko was delighted to see her sister alive and well, and Mai was happy being home. Another two years went by, with Mai training Himeko whilst also out doing missions with her teammates. It was during these two years that she found out that words such as prodigy shouldn't apply to her, but to her little sister. The little girl was always coming up with clever weapons, though such things were made through trial and error. She also found out that her sister loved to make spears, though she couldn't fathom why. Mai considered her sister to be far more advanced than she was at her age, and knew she would make for a great Shinobi.

14 year old Mai entered the Jounin exams, without her teammates. She had finally deemed herself ready to become someone of higher standing than just a Chunin, and thus set out to prove herself. During the two years of training Himeko, she had unlocked the second tomoe. Though she was young and experienced. Mai felt uneasy when during the exams and only felt her usually self when they were over. The exam had consisted of several fights and written text, but she had managed to pass with flying colors. Thus she became a Jounin.

A year later she entered the Anbu squad, 15 of age surrounded by harden assassins. She had made the decision to join only because she could feel the elders breathing down her neck. Making Jounin wasn't enough for them, and thus the option was chosen to become part of Anbu. Her days within Anbu were hard, but it exposed her to the corruptness of the world. She didn't see the world as perfect, but she hadn't known how corrupt it really was. 3 years she spent in Anbu, but it was 3 years she regretted. During her absence, Himeko had taken her place. But since Himeko was part of an entirely different bloodline, they had decided to experiment on the child.

Mai's father wasn't there to protect Himeko, much to Mai's dismay, and her mother and siblings could care less. And thus, when she found out she did the unspeakable. In a fit of rage, Mai murdered a large portion of her clan; finding most of them unfit to live. Amongst the numbers killed were those directly related to her, mother and siblings, and the elders. Third tomoe was unlocked that day. After the terrible dead was done, Mai took Himeko to another part of town. Handing over every penny she had to her little sister so that she may take care of herself.

Mai than tucked in her frighten sister, with promises that when the time was right she would retrieve her. And once Himeko was asleep, she left. She ran from Konoha, knowing that she would be branded a criminal due to her crime. But she left Konoha in hopes of finding a better place for her sister to exist. She was 18 when the events transpired, leaving behind her 11 year old sister.

A year later and Mai has joined the Akatsuki. Her promise still with her, as she watches her little sister from the shadows.
