Skirmish At The Gates [Travel Topic]

[Events that have transpired]

"Erm....." Asher started, spotting with his binoculars what appears to be a naked girl on top of a woman running at strangely high speed on the rooftops of Konohagakure. She was several hundred meters away, and was heading their way. Shino and three other border guards that were on top of the border walls turned around, wondering what Asher was about to say. "6'o clock. I don't know what they're doing.... looks like two girls are like, messing around or something. One of them is like naked", he said. The guards squinted their eyes, seeing a moving dot in the distance. "How strange...." Takai commented, until the woman and the girl could be seen with the naked eye. "Where are they going? She's running so fast..." said Takai.

It was only until she was within 100 meters and did not stop were they genuinely concerned about their duties in relation to the sprinter. "Hey! Why do you have a girl on your back?! Is she deaddd??!!!" Asher shouted, at the woman, but received no reply. "Hey..... hey! stop right there!" Shino yelled, making a halt sign with his hand under the genuine impression that the girl might be dead after all as she did not seem to move but just flailed about. "Hey! Ring the shit!" Shino yelled at Takai. Takai went over and kicked the bell, which was a security signal towards the dozens of border ninja guards that were on duty that there is something urgent to be taken cared of. The fodder guards readied their bows and arrows. The guards down at the ground where the gates were saw the running woman. "Halt! You cannot pass through here!" But Saika had already ran past that, and out through the village.

No matter, for Konohagakure security had been trained for this. "Fire!" Shino shouted, ordering three the three archers to each fire a volley of ten arrows at the woman just as she was about to leave the gate, aiming to try to snipe her down as she was running. At the same time, the ground outside of the border wall rose to a length of 25 meters spanning 60 meters wide, intercepting Saika's path. Two men who had used the Earth Moving Core, Danzo and Kazega appeared from the top of the earthern barrier. They along with several others had been positioned outside the borders when they heard the bell rung. "Oi.... looks like the Hokage wasn't being paranoid after all. Looks like someone is really out for Konoha..." Kazega said. "Yeah...." Danzo agreed, as he formed some handseals for a large-scale Katon jutsu. "Katon: Goukakyuu!" he executed. He blew out a massive jet of fire at Saika spanning a width of 20 meters. The flames sacrificed power for area of effect, so nothing more than semi-mild burns would be inflicted. Right after that, another set of archers fired 30 Kinzoku arrows; made of a thin wood that in archery, sacrificed penetration power for speed, so nothing lethal would result. The arrows that were coming down from behind Saika encompassed a wide area from different angles. And with the deadly flamethrower that was coming down in front of her, Saika would be essentially ensnared by an omnidirectional barrage of descending attacks, ready to cripple her in a binding trap fit for someone treated as a S-class threat.....

She heard them scream for her to stop, or did they shout? Either way, she had ignored them, to excited to get her new child to Kiri so that she could present the Genin to her biological daughter. It had been a mistake, for if she had stopped, perhaps she could had talked to the guards. But, it was a mistake she would have to face the consequences of. She halted her advances, her eyes gazing upon the wall that had been constructed in order to obscure her path. Saika would probably made it if she had not needed to move out of the way of arrows, but regardless, her path to the forest was blocked. Her eyebrows raised with mock concern, her eyes darting between those stationed at the gate as well as those on top of the human made wall. The attack came from the user a top the earthy wall first, followed by an attack by the archers.

“Tch. Konoha Shinobi are just as I remember them, much too happy to utilize their techniques against a perceived enemy,” Saika would mumble under her breath. With her hands full, she could not hope to utilize any Jutsu accurately whilst she held her charge like a sack of potatoes. She could use her defensive Jutsu, but such a thing would require the use of both hands to form the necessary seals. Hands she could not sacrifice lest she wished to unceremoniously dump her adopted child onto the grounds below. “Child of mine, you should come to your senses and behold the length the village would go to. They are willing to kill you in order to kill me. And here I am, trying to rescue you from the mouth of these fools before they devour you. For Konoha has only valued one thing, and one thing alone, and that’s those who are special, going to great lengths to kill you.” Saika said, closing her eyes with a sigh.

With the words having left her mouth, and with little time to react, she did what needed to be done to insure her survival. With the dropping of Kami so that she could mull over the words spoken to her by Saika, the woman quickly formed the single hand seal needed. Within seconds, an air lens was formed, just in time to protect them from the incoming inferno as well as protect them from the hail of arrows coming from behind. She stood completely still, for moving meant her Jutsu would cancel itself out, and it needed to remain up until all traces of the fire had been forced around her. “You should re-evaluate who you stand with child,” Saika said, her eyes gazing at those who were on the earth wall. Waiting for something to happen, for she did not feel like retaliating. Especially when someone else would do that for her. “Take this time to decide where you stand. You can run into the embraces of your village, and I shall not stop you. Or, you may come with me, though I shall send you a head to meet the woman known as Neru, or my daughter.” Saika would fall silent with those words said to Kami, her full attention turned back to what was going on outside of her protective bubble.

The nearby trees whispered their shaky tunes, pleasing the ears of the long-haired shinobi. He moved his right hand up to his lips and took one last inhale of his soon to be finished cigarette, its smoke filling itself into his nostrils. He sure is taking a while... A lot longer than promised, at least. The black-skinned Senju leaned against a nearby tree and closed his eyes, slipping into a slight dream state. Only a man like him could fall asleep while his friend was busy invading the strongest village in the world. It was almost comical, but it fit perfectly into his personality -- a nonchalant, happiness searching, asshole. It was odd, how he behaved. He cared, yet seemingly didn't seem to. He was afraid to show compassion is what it was. He didn't want to show any sign of weakness to anyone -- not even himself. This was a lesson taught to him by his deceased father, and one he carried with him at all times. It was something that had built up him up since his youth, something that had successfully constructed the soul he held within. Within the deep crevices of his mind, he dreamt of his youth. Thoughts of his beautiful mother, who still lived in Konohagakure, rushed through his mind. In his dream, he visited her and told her how much he loves her. He gave her a hug and told her that he would always be there for her.

Fire! In a flurry, Saito awoke, bumping his head against the wall. Shit, that kinda hurt. He looked around, still quite startled. I guess that’s my cue to go in. Without wasting another second, the black man created several handseals at a blinding rate. Immediately, a wooden humanoid pried itself from his body and quickly began manifesting into a carbon copy of himself. Just as quick as he had created the clone, the clone too had begun stringing handseals together, at the end of which he spawned a gargantuan beast made of wood. This demonic looking, wooden statue had a dragon wrapped around his left arm, and a bullish head. Its sheer size and weight was enough to puncture the ground with craters, covering the surrounding area in debris. The size of this beast towered along the village walls, standing at about the same height as the precious Hokage Monument. “Well, what are you waiting for?!” Saito ordered his clone to advance into the village, full speed ahead.

The beast proceeded at a brisk pace until it reached the village walls. With one swing of its hand, it tore apart an appropriately-sized piece of the wall, allowing the monster entrance into Konohagakure. Once inside, it began its rampage, tearing apart businesses and houses. It swung its arms around, knocking apart more of the wall and taking out dozens of archers at a time, rapidly decreasing the village defenses. It would take more than arrows and puny fire ninjutsu to take down the monster. It would serve as a worthy distraction.

Wasting no time, the Wood Clone made its way to Saika’s location. As soon as he arrived next to her, he spawned a continuously growing forest that acted as a makeshift pathway for the woman. It was box shaped and rather large, covering and shielding her from outside attacks. The clone was also within the walls of the forest. They needed to escape the inside of the village as quickly as possible.

Kami’s tears ceased as her face was wiped dry from the shirt which pressed into her damp cheeks. What have I done to deserve a kidnapping least of all from a ninja with such abilities. Where are we even going, maybe I should look about just a little? Peeling her face from the cloth which shrouded her kidnappers back Kami picked the worse time to check what her surrounding would appear to be. Watching a hail of arrows flying down at their location. Knowing that it was her fellow ninja from konoh firing off rounds Kami’s expression turned to that of fear. Don’t they even care that I am not alive!? The womans voice now was clear as it spoke to her again in a motherly manner. Surprised that she had lived through and experience with the Konoha shinobi prior to this from her remark her fear for their situation only grew stronger. If they had fought earlier than they surely won’t hesitate to stop her, but surely they would have stopped for me a simple genin… Evident that her presence upon the kidnapper meant nothing Kami felt slightly heart broken that she was nothing special to them. Child of hers? what does she …. stopping she began to mull over the concepts which she brought up. They are willing to kill me.

”Who are you? Wait what are you saying ? What do you mean you are rescuing me from what? Her mind raced with questions. Did they plan on silencing to begin with. Is this killing two birds with one stone literally. No. No it can’t be. It just can’t. Shaking her head conflicted staring back up to the volley she assumed the worse. They are trying to kill me. After calming a bit she remembered her exact predicament. Nude, slung over like a sack of potatoes and the Konoh shinobi are trying to kill me. ”Where are my parents.” She cried feeling homesick now that she was possibly facing death. Closing her eyes she awaited for the arrows t pierce into her.

Suddenly dropping through the air Kami was shocked finding herself collapsed upon the ground. Landing on her side she cringed in pain, then the barrage continued to shatter upon impact with the ground. Watching the air lens which now guarded them from attack from konoh. “I-I-I’ll go with you to kiri.” Her gaze was drawn to the village to see large wooden creature which was created what she could only expect to be someone she knew. Within the bubble of the protection Saika had created for them Kami curled up a bit embarrassed that she was still naked. ”Bu-bu-but, what should I do?” As if answering for her the forest began making a pathway for her to exit through, without questioning it she stood up and began sprinting through it trying not to injure her bare feet.

Unlike the Hidden Leaf guards which were aimlessly sending arrows and techniques towards the woman whom Sasuto had been pursuing the entire time, the man had some sense in his mind. Most of his techniques had a massive range, and it'd be unwise to use them when a young girl was nearby the enemy. There had to be a weakness to the technique, and it was possible he'd be capable of finding it. His eyes dilated, as they became an indignant deep cerise red, three tomoes coming to inagurate themselves near the outside of the meticulous optics with their fixture discerning his target.

The technique was made of Fire element chakra, which made the man suppose that the air was heated, meaning it'd probably harm him if he tried to disable the technique close up, which led to suspicion. The incorporeal cerulean effervescence surrounded Anubis in the form of a barrier within every direction, but the flow of chakra was slightly off behind Anubis, where she wasn't focusing the most of her chakra, the technique was still being made, anymore time wasted and it'd be too strong to break with the way he figured.

He allowed the 'Transparent Escape' Technique to disappear, and even through his kitsune ANBU mask, two bloody red eyes were visible from the deep tree branches, as the man was crouched down, his hand planted upon the hazelnut copse he placed himself upon, holding a Chokuto. Sasuto suddenly stood up, his optics shimmering within the darkness, and with a momentum of brisk pace, inaugurated any muscle or form within his hand to perform the necessary handseals, and upon completing them, a tempest of leaves surrounded Saika, attempting to trigger the Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique. This technique would bring her to invision something she'd never want to perceive.

Techniques Used:

Vs. Saito
Danzo witnessed his Katon being smothered out by Saika's air barrier, unable to enter her own sanctity. "Bah! Kazega, you might as well take over!" he commanded. The arrows also bounced off of the Air Lens, dozens hitting back to the ground. From the corner of his eye, Danzo easily spotted some black guy jumping over the earthern wall and making his way towards her. He recognized him immediately as Senju Saito, someone who left the village recently as Missing-Nin. "Hey! Saito! What do you think you're doing?!" Danzo yelled while forming handseals, as he jumped in to intercept Saito, who had just finished the handseals for his forest jutsu. They would be boxed in by the forest, which would penetrate through the earthern barrier kazega had summoned, but didn't come close to breaking it down, but there was still a clear open space between Saito and him. "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!" 20 small fireballs blew from Danzo's mouth coming from different angles, all heading to burn Saito. Danzo wanted to get close up and engage in close quarters combat with the guy. His flames were still covering Saika's Air Lens, preventing Saito from seeing her and vice versa...

"What the fucccckkkkkkkkk" Asher shouted, just before the Wood Human destroyed a large part of the border wall several hundred meters away from the main gate. The entire village shook a little, and Shino could see many shinobi falling down. "An attack! An attack on the village! Let everybody know!" Shino ordered, as several men went out to ring the big-ass emergency bell that was located 40 meters from the borders. "It's a Woodzillaaaaa" Takai shouted. Shino observed that the wood Human was still a distance away from where the main gates were....

Vs. Wood Human

Just as the Wood Human was leveling a city-block sized amounts of ground rock, crushing homes and buildings, dishing out a few tons of TNT in terms of firepower, it would find itself unable to lift a pinky, as five Nara Jounin had already surrounded it while it was moving about and spreading a large cloud of debris that would have completely obstructed its view of the Jounin on the ground. Yousei, Shikatara, Seisoku, Kaibutsu, and Asura Nara had used their specialized Shadow Possession technique, aligning their shadows with the Wood Human 10 meters away, preventing it from moving any further. They hung on tightly, concentrating their chakra levels and mental willpower to restrict the Wood Human as much as possible, making it come to an almost complete stop in terms of movement. ....

Vs. Saika

Earlier on, Kazega had taken Danzo's advice and plunged in to the ground using the Hiding Like A Mole technique while the flames were still obstructing her view, burrowing just a few feet underground until he could actually feel where the epitome of disturbance and heat was. He climbed back up towards the surface, and just as the earth right below Saika started to turn into fine sand, he could heard the words, "I-I-I''' go with you to kiri". Kazega's hand appeared from the ground to grab on to Saika's foot just as Sasuto Uchiha had unleashed his genjutsu, and then proceeded to pull her underneath up to neck level. "Double Suicide Decapacitation!"

Seeds of Time

 

She had been pleased with the choice made by the Genin, though she had not quite expected for the child to run off. In her moment of complete shock, she had taken several steps forward, rendering the ‘air lens’ obsolete for she had moved. But such a move would be her life saver, for if the man below that had desired to reach her in order to pull her under had gotten through the dirt, should would be in some trouble. Thus, the move was good for her sake, though she had promptly stopped upon seeing leaves swirling around her, briefly catching a glimpse of Saito, before the leaves dropped to the ground. Such an odd thing to see in a forest controlled by one of her members, and thus something had been off about the entire thing with the leaves swirling around her form. Saika could feel it.

She frowned deeply as such a thing as a Genjutsu had been made obvious. The individual that had casted the Genjutsu had been quite smart to go with that route, but there was just one problem. Saika had only one true fear, and that was of the death of her immediate family. Family that was no where near Konoha, and thus when their bloodied bodies move through the trees, she did not react. Concern did not cross her face, nor did she run after the bloodied figures, for she knew what she had been trapped in. Simple Genjutsu would be something easily discerned by a veteran. Saika had been faced with this technique on several occasions and all who used it learned one thing that day before they were murdered. Saika Oshiro feared little to nothing. And today the one who had cast it would know this fact as well.

She laughed uncontrollably, a hand resting on her head as she stood at her full height. It may seem like she had completely lost her mind, but that was not true. She just found the entire situation to be funny. Somebody truly believed that they could take her down with such a simple technique sounded ludicrous to her. But, she had to remind herself that not many knew what she feared, even fewer knew that she usually did not react upon these fears. And thus, the individual had wasted their time. When she finally got her laughter down into a controllable chuckle, she decided that she would break out of the petty Genjutsu. Something easily achieved through the raise of her chakra, which disrupted the flow of chakra the caster had been given off to maintain the technique. It was a good tactic for somebody like her, but if the technique had been of high caliber, she would not have been able to break free of it without help.

With such a Genjutsu being dispelled, her attention immediately turned to the clone of Saito, not all to concern with finding the one that had casted the technique. He, or she, would show themselves if they desired to tango with her, and thus she would not waste her time. Though, she actually did not feel like fighting, her job being done for the Genin had run off, perhaps well on her way to Kiri. And with her head start, and the fact that there were plenty of places to hide in the forest, she did not believe anyone would be able to reach her, nonetheless find her.

“Saito, I have done what I had come here to do. I desire to leave, so please come up with a suitable transport.” With the order issued to the clone, her attention would turn back to the surrounding, preparations being made for the next attack to come. Though, she hoped she would be gone before anyone could react.

OOC: Kinda short cus I have to rush to work

Saito quickly spawned two more wood clones. One of them promptly entered the city and took over the task of the previous, occupied clone -- maintaining the Wood Human and the Forest. The other spawned a wooden dragon. Once the first wood clone took over the chakra maintenance job, the first dispersed on command. Following, Saito himself would spawn a wood dragon (will be referred to as #2 for the rest of this post). The first wood dragon carried the clone and headed underground into the city at a quick speed, heading towards the forest that contained Saika and the Uchiha. Dragon #2 quickly followed suit. Both were relatively deep underground, hiding from the ruckus.

The forest continued to expand left and right, forming a maze, hiding Saika from any intruders.

Fuck, it's so hot, the young Senju thought to himself. Inside the village, a cornucopia of explosions and ruckus was occurring. Outside, it was serene with a light breeze. Saito smiled, relishing the good weather. The information he was getting from his clone was quite good. First, the boy pandering around with his Sharingan had made the unlikely mistake of entering the Senju's domain -- his forest. Inside the forest, Saito was practically a god. Hmph. Closing his eyes, he envisioned the whole scenario with the information he had received. He began weaving the thick branches, closing off the space behind Saika with every step she took, keeping her safe from those who would chase her. The young Uchiha (the very one who made the mistake of entering the Forest), would find himself trapped in a thick, wooden box (sprouted from each direction of him, the roof, floor, and the side walls, directly next to him and under him, as well as on top) that would be supported by a plethora of immensely thick branches that sprouted from the already existing ones. The thickness of the box, coupled with the fact that it was refined, made it near impossible to burn through instantly. At the least, it would take several minutes before it would be burned through. Once trapped inside the box, spiky wooden entrails sprouted from inside and move quickly to stab the Uchiha. If we would fail to break out of the box, the rest of his life seemed unlikely.

Kami’s mind raced with question and fears. Who were these people and how would they have known if Konoh was plotting something against her? Were these beliefs now firmly and planted and kindled she could only imagine what was going to happen next? What should I do can’t run from any of them to effectively and I certainly can’t fight them. There are not good options I can’t go into a village in my present state and I can’t trust either side at the moment. Think Kami. Think. Where can you go? Mother and father, where did they say they were headed to Kiri … there is at least one other stronger ninja out there. I need to keep guard none of them can be trusted still, but then they haven’t tried to kill me yet and either way I can’t live with the idea that I am not safe in Konoh.

Her bare body began to sprout goosebumps she continued to run away from konoh through the small path of trees that were being formed. The sight of it was as beautiful as it was terrifying. Such power, what people could be this strong besides another village and why would they want me let alone talk to me as if I was their own child. Hearing the laugh from her apparent new keeper Kami was a bit startled by how deranged and uncontrollable it was. Gah keep it together Kami don’t be scared what is the worse thing that could happen … That train of thought was the worst possible idea she could have taken as her ideas continued to grow worse and worse as the seconds passed on.

Making it deeper into the forest Kami refused to look back under any circumstances. She hadn’t begun to know anyone to well and most everyone she did meet probably will hardly remember her except for the few that were beaten in the hot springs they might be a bit sour at her. So cold just the air from running is chilling me to the bone. A few meters or more away from the fighting she heard her kidnapper mention a name Saito. Must be one of her companions, I hope I don’t run into the two of them to shortly. Quickly to Kiri. Sprinting off Kami would be running out of sight.

Sasuto bounded off the earth after triggering the Descending Hell technique, or attempting to, upon Saika the second she released the other.

The forest was noticeably beginning to dissipate, due to the Wood Clone having been torched earlier by the onslaught of attacks from the other Leaf shinobi. Sasuto immediately perceived Kami attempting to escape, and dashed right after her. His speed had elevated to it's full pace, as he proceeded onward behind her. [exit]

OOC: Sasuto, you cannot use the fire jutsu because you used a Genjutsu. A Genjutsu automatically ends your turn per the rules of the site, found here. Also, you totally forgot about the death trap being constructed around you by Saito. And from what Sly is telling me, the woods would not be dissipating since another clone took on the job of the previous one, maintaining the forest.

OOC: Editted, plus Saito is wrong. Only one wood clone can be used.

OOC: Saito used the A version of the Jutsu, which allows 3 clones max.

Kazega failed to reach Saika, who just sidestepped his hand right before it came out from the ground. Furthermore, the genjutsu failed and her own Air Lens was deactivated, so she was free to move as she pleased.

Danzo's Housenka Jutsu was a success. Before the forest could fully form, his 20 fireballs launched from different angles had blindsided Saito's Wood Clone and burned him away. Danzo thought that taking out a Missing-Nin of SAito Senju's class was rather too convenient, and was confirmed when he saw nothing but a wooden dummy in the shape of Saito burning away from his flames. Che! Now I'm surrounded by this mass of trees and shit and I can't see a thing. Then he heard a light rumbling underground...

Hmm? What could that be? He also heard some running through the woods, but he could not see who was running because of the thickness. He jumped from tree to tree until he reached the top of the forest, but still couldn't see anything, until Sasuto launched a huge-ass Katon jutsu. Whoa! This guy is on another level in terms of Fire Style compared to me! he thought as the fire came down through the Forest, incinerating all in its path. Kazega had already returned within the border walls and the border guards are now on standby as they watched Captain Sasuto take care of things.

OOC Summary of What Happened: Due to sly's wood clone failing to acknowledge the katon attack, it has been burned away. The Housenka was launched right while the trees were starting to grow out, so the clone would have been burned away before noticing Saika neutralizing her Air Lens or Sasuto jumping into the fray, hence voiding any kind of attack Saito might have made on Sasuto. The additional wood clones and wood dragons still came in from underground to help Saika and Kami escape (this has been agreed with Anubis in the Chatbox). The 8 post thing has been exceeded, meaning by the end of my post, Saika, Kami, and Saito have already left Konohagakure and are on their way underground towards wherever sly has specified. I'm done with my NPC's as I cannot go any farther from here.

So make a new thread or something in the Travel Board or w/e. Sasuto is in pursuit of the three and has launched the Katon all over the forest, and he is also chasing after Kami. Battle on in another thread.
