OOC: The first gate cost 1,000 words and climbing from there adds another 1k. So the 2nd Gate will be 2,000, then the third 3,000.

Seeing as only two people actually bothered posting regarding the event, Poncho and Raphael, their word count requirement will be halved and they receive this post. Though directed to them, if anyone else wishes to participate, they can find away to stumble upon the training area and also learn the gates, but their word count will be standard.

The participants had finally arrived off of the boat and were now resting from their long journeys. Rest was good indeed, but sometimes one would have to fight through the aliments of fatigue and being tired. This is how one masters the body, to a degree, as rest is still needed, but once every blue moon for those who want to master the body it is good for them to train their bodies to fight against the fatigue. If they couldn't then they weren't fit for the power of the Eight Gates, a truly taxing ability. Along with it putting a heavy strain on the body, only a select few could hope to master if even learn the Gates. This has nothing to do with alignment or morality, gender, or any of those things, rather potential and above all work ethic.

Out of the batch brought this time, though a lot were chosen to come only a few, actually only two would be receiving the teachings. One was a non English speaking Genin from Kumogakure. Though he isn't blessed with a bloodline, riches, or even discovered his chakra affinity, he works hard to overcome those things and it is time for him to be rewarded for his hardwork.

Next was the current Kazekage. An earnest, kindhearted, and loyal fellow. Though it is his responsibility to protect his village, he does so with a certain factor, that shows he is a truly caring man. He knows the strength not only harbored in the body, but also in the mind and that is where part of the power for the gates comes from.

Those being the two choices the Wavemaster seeked, he personally, went to wake them. Quietly as ever, he would move into the sleeping quarters, and gently wake them. None seen other than his ominous black robe and his motionless mouth, he would beckon with his hands for the two to follow, first the Kazekage, then the younger ninja from Kumogakure. Leading them through the forest, they would be brought to a clearing, while only the moon hung in the sky. No clouds, no birds, only the whisper of the forest and the three souls present.

"Many are present on this island, but you two are the only ones I see worthy of the teachings everyone seeks. Not due to your morals, strength, or anything other than your potential and work ethic, in my eyes what really matters." The Wavemaster knew Kobachi could barely understand if he even did understand what he said, but regardless he spoke as if talking to the both of them.

"I will only be teaching you two how to open  the first three gates. Still an amazing feat, however." Taking the hood of the robe off of his head, the Wavemaster showed pale eyes and brown hair brought back in a traditional pony tail. Either he was blind or he was from the Hyuuga clan, the latter being the most probable.

"The first gate is located in your brain. Most have the ability to open this gate, so it should be fairly simple. Focus on building chakra up near the organ, then in an instant a surge to break the limiter. Be aware once this is done, you must quickly continue opening the rest of the gates." The Wavemaster then began to remove his robe, revealing a very sturdy body, with the torso bare, but covered in bandages. His legs were simply covered by ninja pants and the typical ninja tabi. Sitting in a meditative he closed his eyes and seemingly effortlessly opened the first gate. His muscles slightly bigger, one could almost feel the increase in power from just staring at him. "Now you two try."

Kumo Genin
Kumo Genin

It was late in the night and the participants had been in the resting quarters for hours now, surely they were all sleep. That's what bounced in the noggin of the young Kumo Genin Kobachi as he lie there awake on his side. He felt far too excited for training in the morning to fall asleep, though he was exceptionally tired. He had been on two boats, one from Konoha to the Land of Sound and from the Land of Sounds port to here. Then not to mention his previous travels from Kumogakure to Konoha, then even then he had a battle with a pretty tough Jounin from Konoha. Needless to say, the boy needed a good rest, but he couldn't find himself falling asleep. His ears weren't necessarily listening for sounds, but lying in a room full of sleeping people surrounded by nature, ones ears slowly became more alert to foreign noises. May it be a new animal making a cry or a new snore emerging from a person rolling over.

With each new noise, came an odd syncopation that Kobachi mentally threaded together into a symphony in the mind. The instruments weren't controlled or conducted by him obviously, but each snore having an easily decipherable rhythm and with the continuous chirp of the crickets outside, the orchestra was indeed existing. But the orchestra soon was muted as Kobachi was startled by a hand on his shoulder. He thought someone had wildly rolled over and placed it on him, but it was far too gentle and controlled, it was meant for him. Looking at the owner of this hand his heart jumped as he saw a cloaked man in all black. He wasn't sure what he had did wrong or if he was in trouble for not sleeping, but as the man simply acted to wake him and continued about his way with only a beckoning hand, Kobachi figured he'd follow.

Tip toeing around the limp sleeping bodies, Kobachi followed the man silently and wondered how he was unaware of the man approaching. He was previously aware of each new audible noise entering his ear canal, but this man had seemed to bypass the rules of sound and easily approached Kobachi without being noticed. The Genin's eyes watched him carefully as he and another was lead first through the forest that was majority of the island, then into a clearing. Alone it was the three of them, Kobachi, the robed man, and another seemingly older fellow. As the man in the robe began speaking Kobachi caught on to the keywords and assumed this one was the man called the Wavemaster, and as the man said the one who would teach him Hachimon.

As the man began to demonstrate Kobachi observed intricately trying to take in every detail. Yes the mans body was a specimen to behold as were his eyes, which made the sadly ignorant Kobachi think he was blind, being unaware of the Hyuuga Clan. Watching the man enter the Lotus position, Kobachi did the same and continued to watch. Then in a random second in the flow of time, the mans muscle expanded. Kobachi could somewhat feel the increase in power from where he was sitting, that being about 7ft away from the man. "Brain, chakra, gate, focus . . ." Those were the thoughts of the young ninja as his eyes closed and he began to breath at a steady pace. Focusing his chakra in his cranium, he wasn't sure what to do with it. Surely just having it flow there wouldn't unlock the gate.

Kobachi then found himself having one of those moments where he felt very limited by his knowledge of the English language, but he wouldn't sit in the feeling. He would have to overcome it and find a way regardless. Remembering how the mans body had suddenly enlarged in the slightest degree, he tried to tap into that feeling. A rush of chakra is what Kobachi though of when he shot a bullet of his reserves through his brain in hopes of earning the same results as the teacher, but he failed. Gathering his thoughts and chakra once more, he tried a larger burst and wasn't sure if  he was starting to open the first gate or developing a headache, what he was sure about was that his head was beginning to hurt, so he assumed it was the latter.

Opening one eye he would look at the other person present hoping he wasn't holding up the other mans training, if so he would be sure to speed up the process and try different methods, for with his previous approaches he was trying his hardest. If Kobachi wasn't slowing the man down, he would still try harder in hopes of unlocking the gate before the other man could. Closing his eye, he would zone out his surroundings and go into simple meditation. With this gate being located in the brain he thought of it like the seven chakras of the body. This one being similar to the Crown Chakra or Sahasrara. The chakra that separates illusions from reality and is affiliated with a clear and pure consciousness. The thoughts of the chakras Kobachi was familiar with was enough to clear his mind and put him in a trance almost. Then with a subtle breath he pictured the build up chakra near his brain and he also felt it. Then on impulse, he would allow the chakra to burst throughout the organ and he would successfully open the first gate. His muscles hadn't expanded as much as the Wavemasters had, though he change wasn't even great itself, but Kobachi felt empowered. Beyond he normally felt by far, he felt as if he had no limitations and could do anything.

Opening his eyes and looking at first the Wavemaster expectantly, then the other man, the young Kumo Genin would await further instruction. At this point he was more than ready to open the rest of the gates, though he heard they would bring much more pain to the Genin than one could normally imagine without having experienced it. Kobachi wondered if he would ever being able to train himself to the degree of being on par with his current state when he had no Gates open. Nodding to himself he put that on his mental list of goals. Wishing he had an opportunity to test his strength and speed in this state alone, he would have to do that on his own time. Clinching his fist as to test his power, even that simple action felt different. He almost had lifted his fist and jabbed the air, but his fear of disrespecting or acting out of line even the slightest bit in front of the Wavemaster had stopped him from doing so.

In the darkness of the night, Konto traveled much like he always did. Alone. Its not that he disliked company for he rather enjoyed it. His occasional bouts of anger and violence however, were one of the main reasons he tried to stay away from others. Though not believing nor wanting himself to be a violent person, he was probably equally nice and gentle as he was evil and violent. But most times, he tried his best to let the good side win.

On this night, he had been following the trail left by likely some bystanders that had gone through the same route earlier. There was no real business he had with them. But, there was a chance that wherever these people had gone, there would be others. While the prospect of being with a larger group of people was somewhat causing him to become nervous given his personality, he had the idea he could control himself enough to enjoy the moment.

Large loose black hood over his body, it didn't take Konto long to reach an area where he heard yells and assertive screams. They were not of pain however. They didn't seem to be. Instead, he saw what seemed to be people training. It wasn't ninjutsu or genjutsu from what he noticed. It was taijutsu. However, the amount of raw energy being displayed was unlike what he had ever experienced before. Though Konto had many flaws, it was his practice and mastership over his Taijutsu that made him even remotely capable of controlling himself sometimes unlike the near chaotic curse that pained most of the people of his birth clan.

Hiding behind the bushes on the outskirts of the area, he would see what looked like a sensei and the two students training. One was a relatively young student while the other seemed to be a bit older. They did have something in common. Both of them, specially the younger one, seemed to be quite interested in learning whatever it was he was being taught. It was the boy's fervent dedication, his resolve and his seemingly unshaken will that cause Konto to keep looking on. Though his training had taught him otherwise, it was not long until he was found out.

Coming from the shadows he would approach, and respectfully bowing before who seemed to be the teacher he would ask him. "Please teach me. I need this." He truly did. It was not to increase his power or to be the best he could although it certainly helped. Konto was a fairly strong shinobi after all. Instead, this power, being taijutsu like most of his own combat skills, would surely help him, perhaps, to control himself. While he was positive this training would not completely let him control over his own nature and let the good side triumph, he was faithful it would help him fight off the darkness in his heart. In any case, it would help him defend what he believed was right.

The Wavemaster was pleased with the results from the Genin. He had expected him to need assistance with him not being a fluent English speaker, so he felt the boy didn't understand most of what he was saying and unknowingly to the Wavemaster, Kobachi didn't understand most of what was said. The mans eyes were soon drawn from his student to a rustling in bushes as another approached. This man had a strong mysterious aura about him, but there was something else the Wavemaster couldn't out his finger on that was there.

All that aside this one seemed to mean no harm and he did seem to have that factor within his soul the Wavemaster liked, self improvement. Nodding to his new student, while acknowledging the results from the others he would first address his older pupils, so they could begin to move on.

Now with the first gate open, Kaimon . . ." He said the gates correct name. "We proceed to the next gate, Kyumon. Like the first, this gate is also located in the brain and it's purpose it to revitalize the body after the effects of Kaimon. So now I will demonstrate to you Kyumon." The man paused and stood from his previous position. Spreading his legs into the horse stance he flexed one time and exerted another noticeable surge of chakra. The results weren't visually shown, but one could feel that the Wavemaster had transcended to the next level.

Walking to the new student the Wavemaster would simply explain to him what the Eight Gates were and that their power was not to be taken lightly as the drawbacks are taxing. Assuming the mans answer would not change, the Wavemaster would simply explain what needed to happen. "Like I explained with the second gate, this gate is in the brain, focus your chakra near this point, then in one surge of chakra, breakthrough the limits set on you body."

Tear examined the man and immediately without question mimiced what he was doing. Tear sat down, crossed his legs and put his hands upside down making them into a circle. He slowly closed his eyes and began trying to focus his chakra and sync his body with his surroundings. He then started to focus his chakra around his brain. This part was simple, but breaking the limiter was proving to be difficult. Tear suddenly began to see visions of his life and time in the anbu. It had been so long that he was one he had forgotten that they were trained to put up many mental blocks in order to protect the secrets of the village. Tear himself was exceptional in the area of mental blocking, so his were exceptionally strong. Tear began to try and concentrate more until a loud noise broke his concentration. One of the other participants had yelled in frustration. Tear shot him a look that quickly silenced the man.

Tear would stand up the proceed to go somewhere a little more quiet. Later that day Tear found a large boulder in the center of a open field. Tear smiled as he saw how the sun shined down on this one area. He looked over his shoulder then back at the rock. "Hmm." Tear jumped up onto the boulder and sat down once again crossing his legs, turning his hands upside down, and cupping them into a cricle. He closed his eyes and began focusing his chakra around his brain. With this much peace he broke down a few of the barriers that had been set in place. Tear cringed as he had to begin focusing more chakra because the barriers where getting harder and harder to break down. Whoever was to see Tear would see that the man was begining to strain himself. Sekhmet, Tears bodyguard, appeared from the shadows. He was about to say something, but then stopped because he knew the kind of man Tear was. Sekhmet in turn receeded back into the shadows.

Hours passed and the sun had set and Tear had finally reached the last mental block that he had created. He was the one who made them, yet it was this difficult to break through them. That was how well these barriers were crafted. Tear knew he'd have to recreate them, but currently was more concerned with the task at hand. After another two hours Tear managed to break down the last barrier. After that breaking the limiter was simple. After he did that Tear felt his muscle mass increase and felt stronger than he had before. He opened his eyes and quickly stood up. He jumped off of the boulder and landed on the ground in front of it. He turned to the boulder and grinned. He himself was a Taijutsu Master and could easily destroy the boulder, but what would happen when he is as he is now. Tear drew back his fist and slammed it into the boulder. The boulder broke into thousands of tiny pieces. Tear smiled and looked at his body. "Guess deciding to come here wasn't a bad idea after all."

Slightly bowing in thanks and respect given the opportunity, Konto would move towards the area where the other trainees where but far enough to allow them and himself more than enough space should the training require it. Having listened to the instructor, though Konto was still blissfully unaware of how much potential the technique would have and how much he would exert himself, he was positive that the task would be a grueling but worthwhile one.

Easing away the top of his cloak he slid off of it. Instead, he was now wearing his pants and footing as, seeing the progress of the trainees, getting rid of upper body garments might actually have been a wise decision. Thus, cloak to the side he stood, feet placed firmly parallel to each other on the ground. His hands swayed slightly initially but then, leaving them on angle just somewhat past his waist level, he would close his eyes.

Trying his best to envision what the man had said, Konto tried to portray his chakra from all over his body in an inner effort to direct it towards his head, or think he was indeed controlling it in his brain. The process was actually a bit more difficult than he had initially thought it to be. Konto actually found it more difficult to try his best to avoid any of his bones from protruding since it was a relative similar process albeit from other parts of his body. It was a good thing that none actually popped out as it would have been an odd sight for most.

For a good minute or two he stood there, not being able to truly feel anything even though he was truly trying. He didn't lack resolve for he truly wanted to achieve this, but there was something definitely holding him back from embarking on this journey, and he had to find it, and deal with it. Closing his eyes, he tried to meditate while he focused the chakra on the area of his brain. Though he met no one, or nothing in specific he would indeed find what was trying to make him lag behind.

It was himself. More specifically, it was the side of himself that desired violence and pain and did not wish to be dominated by the more calm and righteous side of him. While the training and likely success of attaining the gates did not meant imminent danger for the darker side of him, it would be a stepping stone and an outlet for Konto to more easily deal with his darker urges in the future. And there was no way that side of him would allow such thing.

Eyes still closed, Konto wrestled with his own thoughts while he struggled to focus as intended. The more he tried to focus the more thoughts that kept popping into his head. Some said he was a failure. Some said he couldn't do this. Some said he was good for nothing save for killing people and bringing about despair. Konto, instead of engaging on the argument and fighting back with words already knew much better. If he were indeed to do so, he would have already lost, and focusing would have been impossible.

Instead, he merely tried his best to relax, eyes still closed, as his body became relatively numb contrary to what the training should have required. Doing his best to ignore and push aside the thoughts, Konto would discover that soon enough he could no longer hear them. Continuing, initially, he had wanted to remain in meditation as finally doing away with said thoughts, even if it was for a while, was more than he could ask for.

However, he was rather surprised when, easing away from the meditation, the thoughts did not return. Granted, one day, or sooner or later they would, but they were not present. At least not now. Though the surprise was big, it was not quite as imposing as what he would see next. All around him, there was a certain aura. It was not truly visible at all. In fact, it was likely not even enough to be truly felt. But he could feel it. His muscles had gotten quite a bit bigger and larger. This was in part given his massive size since Konto towered at 6'5 ft.

Though his musculature had indeed been enhanced, he still had ways to go compared to the example displayed by their instruction...but one day. With a smile, he was confident he could continue to open the other gates at the instructor's signal. Having been temporarily freed of his inner torments he could truly pursue this. Earlier, when he thought he was merely meditating and pushing away the thoughts that invaded his head, Konto was actually doing a lot more. The inner struggle, pushing off the thoughts, meditating and concentrating had all helped him to push on and open the gate.

Turning his hands so that his palms faced upward he closed them into fists and inhaling and exhaling, he smiled, feeling the new-found power flow through. It was truly interesting. For most of his life, specially because of his Kekkei Genkai, Konto's combat skills had been revolved around the use of his bones. His way of combat, in essence, made near complete use of his body, not just his bones, but the latter were almost always used. This technique however, helped him increase the power and potential of his muscles. It made him smile. In many ways he was getting closer and closer to being able to truly use his whole body as a conduit for bringing about justice and peace. His bones would be the foundation. The new-found power that strengthened his body and his muscles would help him push on. His blessed physical characteristics, his thirst for peace and righteous, and his resolve would help him fight off the darkness in his heart and push on to a time in shinobi history where light would triumph over darkness.

OOC: Raph did you even read the NPC post?  there are only three people present other than the NPC, that being us people posting. Maybe ur char is schizophrenic or something cuz no one is makin noises like that and it's also midnight :new22:.

Kobachi watched as the other man had up and left, very confused on where he was going, maybe somewhere more private. The teen didn't know, but he only hoped the Wavemaster wouldn't get upset and stop the training. If the Sensei was to get mad let him unleash his wrath on the one who deserves it and then continue the lesson. But that was beyond Kobachi's control and he had learned to focus on things that were in his control or that he could effect. That being the results of his training and in learning the second gate or as the Wavemaster called it Kyūmon.

Kobachi also rose, following the lead of the Wavemaster once more and spread his legs into the horse stance. Firm and sturdy on the ground, the teen felt unmovable just like he was supposed to. It all made him think back to his martial arts training back in the mountains of Kumogakure, then that lead him thinking about his ninja career in Kumogakure. He hadn't informed the people that he was no longer in Konoha and that when he was there, the outcome wasn't all that good and may have damaged relations. Shaking his head he focused on the Wavemaster once more and saw the fruits of his labor. Kobachi also wanted this fruit, so he would hunch his body forward and clinch his fist to his sides as if prepping to endure a powerful blow. His muscles flexed beyond their normal capabilities thanks to Kaimon, the first gate, being opened, Kobachi felt this gate would be just as difficult.

Out of the seven chakras Kobachi was taught about, he related this second gate to Ajna or the Brow Chakra. Located in the brain or the center of the forehead as opposed to the Crown chakra which is on the crown of the head. This chakra is related to intellect and in some cases communication from teacher to disciple. Falling into the realm of his Minds Eye, he pictured Ajna with its many arms and pure white petals. Again he found himself calmed as his chakra in ninja terms was being channeled near his brain like before, preparing to unlock Kyūmon. With a breath inward his chest rose and inflated, before he hunched back over into a powerful flex as his chakra surged in his brain. He could picture what he was aiming for, remembering a diagram of the Eight Gates plastered on the wall in the resting quarters. Unlike the first gate this one was located on the other side of the brain and that is exactly where he focused his chakra. His fist clinched tight, then veins on his arms would begin to bulge out, but they were not visible with his sleeves covering his arms.

Re routing his chakra, to go for another round, the Genin kept his body tense and flexed. Another large breath of oxygen inward which was audible to those nearby, maybe his chest once more inflate, but this time larger than the last time. Then with a sharp exhale Kobachi exclaimed, "Hah." Letting his breath release and his chakra break the limiter set in his brain. The increase in power wasn't as great as it was the last time, but he could feel his body being restored almost. As if new energy was being filtered through it to let him feel refreshed and new. The strain he had put on his muscles from just flexing to enter this gate was slowly fading and he admired the spectacle in awe as he looked at the both of his open palms, now in a regular standing position. Looking over to the new pupil, Kobachi felt it was as if the man had just spawned into existence as the other one had left, replacing him quickly, just like time did with childhood friends.

Giving the new student a smile, Kobachi then looked back to the Wavemaster, prepared to open the final gate he would be learning this session.

The Wavemaster watched as the Kazekage had left the area. He wasn't sure where he was going maybe Kage business or something or the sort, but the Wavemaster simply ignored it and continued on with the two students present. Both were exerting themselves and giving it their best and that pleased him very much. Though the Genin was young, he had a fire deep down that carried him to succeed. A very unique background he had, but with that different upbringing came different perspectives and views of life, surely that would help him not only here, but down the road.

Then this new pupil. He seemed to also be a unique one, maybe with some sort of internal turmoil or conflict, but he was humble and respectful, something that would also carry him far in his life. But beyond the humbleness, the Wavemaster could feel his inner vigor and strength, it was undoubtedly beyond the Genin, regardless of the rank difference, perhaps it was in his blood, just like the Wavemaster himself had special blood. As the Kumogakure Genin would look at him, he would nod in approval, acknowledging his success and he would also do the same to the white haired fellow. "You both are moving at a great pace, next for you young boy, I will explain the Third Gate, Seimon. It is found in the spinal cord and like the First Gate, it will give you a dramatic increase in power, but it will take a heavy toll on you as well. Think of it as the first Gate that will truly damage your body as payment for your temporary boost in strength. I advise that you only enter this gate when you find yourself backed in a corner and needing a ray of light. When you succumb to its negative effects, remember them and remember the pain that comes with it, so you do not take this Gate lightly. With this being the last technique I am teaching you two for now, I encourage you to seek out the hidden techniques that come with these gates. I do not have the time to teach them to you, but I am sure you will come across them on your travels." Stepping back from the both of the students, he stepped back into the horse stance and crossed the two of his arms in front of him.

If one were to pay close attention as he began to flex, they would be able to see how the pupils in his eyes slowly lost and regained their color, how his hair was standing on its ends, then the way his veins protruded from his skin that was visible, especially the temples. Slowly with this side effects the mans skin began to redden as if he were a demon from hell and how the very earth beneath his feet began to crack and tremble, not only from the pressure from his feet, but from his chakra that was now visibly being projected from his body. He was now on the verge of opening the gates, but he was doing so slowly, as to let his students observe what to look for in this transformation. Once he felt they had seen enough he let the gate gently close, without opening it fully only allowing it to crack open.

"For the training purposes, I will keep the gate closed, so I can bring you two out of the forest back into the resting quarters, because I can guarantee that one of you will need to be carried." With his eyes back to their natural pigment, he moved away from the terrain that he had damaged and sat back down with his legs crossed, waiting to see how the ninja would do.

In the distance, it seemed one of the man had left. It had originally puzzled him as to why that would have happened. Granted the resolve of the young student by him was absolute as was relatively strong the desire of Konto to reach his goal. Nevertheless, Konto brushed asides any thoughts not related to the training and continued on as instructed by the sensei.

Having listened to the instructions, he readied to pursue the next challenge. Before doing so, he noticed the other younger student, with a likely smile of approval and cheering on Konto. He seemed like a good kid. While he did not know him much, his determination and resolve were evident. There was also what seemed to be the slightest gleam of a pure unadulterated light in him. With a quick but gentle bow of approval, Konto would acknowledge the impressive effort the boy was displaying and thank him for his acknowledgement. Having lived for a bit longer, and having been acquainted with his own darkness in his struggle to keep light afloat, he only wished the boy would remain righteous and pure forever. Under his breath he would whisper, "For your own sake, don't lose sight of your light."

Returning his attention again to his training much like the boy would, Konto focused. He had heard the second gate would also be around the same location, but likely it was just the smallest distance away. Tightening the grip on his hands and tightening his upper body muscles he would move his feet and lower himself some into a horse stance. Tightening the muscles nearly all over his body, he exerted some more chakra.

Focusing the release specially towards his upper body and where the sensei had indicated, he could feel what was like the softest bump. In fact, it was as if he was just about to reach and open the gate but he just quite couldn't. Eyes still closed, muscles tightened and focused, Konto got so close to the point where he could really feel the gates about to be opened. But just like having a concept on the tip of your tongue without being able to acquire it, he was just barely there, but it was not quite enough.

At a point, he was just about frustrated, thinking that perhaps it was just his limit and that he should've just given up or never gone there at all. On the back of his head, he was reminded of the reason he had left his village. It was more than disgrace. It was more than the killing he had done...and enjoyed. It was instead out of the reason that had prompted the killing in the first place. He wanted peace and to bring about justice, and for that, he needed balance, purity, and power.

Remembering what would have happened if he had not done the terrible things back then made him snap, and overexert past the limit he didn't seem to be able to go past before. Grunting quite a bit louder, his body was now displaying the power and the effects of having the second gate opened. With his muscles quite a bit larger than they already were given his size, they were also quite a bit toned. The veins on his muscles had also began to bulge some to the point where, although not dangerously big, they could be made out with ease when before, they could not.

Maintaining the second gate opened, he turned, with a genuine smile to see that the young boy had also successfully achieved it. Nodding his way, he would return the smile that had been offered for him earlier before turning back to the sensei. He was ready, and so was the boy. They were ready for the next step.

This was it. The time to attempt to open the third gate was upon him. Though initially he had wanted to look over and spend some more time looking at the sensei or the young boy, he would quickly notice that he just could not. While it was true that the strain the first two gates had put on their bodies had been quite sizable, the third one was bound to add on even more. What's more, he had just now remembered what the sensei had said earlier. There was really no time for breaks. Once the first set of gates had been opened, there was no going back; they would need to continue opening the gates until reaching the third gate.

Konto felt empowered. He felt strong. However, at the same time there was a certain air of uneasiness mixed with excitement and fear. It was akin to standing in the middle ground of your goal, knowing you could push on or stop, but doubt would only cause detrimental effects. Much like lifting heavy weights, one needed to exert force to lift the weight, but if instead one held it halfway for too long, it was bound to inevitable come down with a great degree of destructive power.

"Aaaargh!!!" yelled out Konto as he powered up to attempt to open the third gate. While the sensei had managed to open it without causing such a boisterous uproar, he was likely a master of it and had thus probably done it numerous times. The physical exertion displayed by his scream should have been really natural given the strain he was causing on his body. In a second, he could see his muscles already starting to enhance and the veins throughout his body beginning to bulge out some.

Though there was no real defining factor, there was the slightest hint of pinkish hue to his skin. Konto had a rather light complexion so the hue was likely somewhat more noticeable on him than it would have been on most. Nevertheless, he wasn't quite sure how long he had been yelling and focusing his chakra. While in reality he might have actually been doing so for a brief set of seconds, the time seemed to lengthen for him in his conscious. To Konto, he might as well had been exerting himself for hours on end.

His muscles certainly thought so. The degree of power he was trying to tap on was creating a tremendous strain on his body. While his bones could keep up, and even though his muscles usually regenerated quite speedily like when they were pierced by the bones, the immense strain from attempting to open the 3rd gate was starting to be quite noticeable, but alas, he did his best and continued to push on.

His body felt warm, he felt heavy and light at the same time and the air around him felt different. The breeze felt different. Clenching his hands into fists even tighter than before, he did so to the point where his nails even dug into the palm of his hands. Trying his best to concentrate on his chakra, he was lucky he had had so much experience with his bone techniques. While the latter would technically be of no real help in this scenario, they did provide him with some form of guide on to think of his chakra and direct it to the area of his spinal cord.

On many occasions during battles, he had to use a large number of his bones for combat, and his thoracic ribs and the spine were no exception. Visualizing what he knew his spinal cord looked like, since he had quite often held it in his own hands, he imagined how each and every rib was interconnected it with cartilage, wrapping around his body and protecting the organs, and forming the thoracic cavity.

The idea of visualizing it did indeed help tremendously. By focusing his chakra in the core of his body, he was able to relax to a point of near attainable nirvana. There, following the same picture he had created in his mind, he imagined what it'd be like to send all of his chakra, from the ribs, the sternum, the thoracic cavity, all in a steady pace towards his spinal cord.

He knew quite well the specific anatomy of the human body, specially the bone without needing to be a medic. The Kaguya did infect see their bones with more frequency than some of the best medics did. This however did not mean they were efficient medics, just that they were acquainted with the large majority of the human body. Konto knew what his spinal cord consisted off. The atlas, the axis, the cervical area, the thoracic area, and the lumbar area of the spinal cord. He knew it by memory. And so, he imagined and focused into what he believed was or felt directing all his chakra into those specific areas that formed the spinal cord.

Then, before he could make sense of it, he had a lapse, a trance, and found himself lost in his own thoughts, but not truly in a negative way. He found himself, his current self, in a place that was devoid of all but light. It was indeed an ironic scenery for a man who was in a life-long struggle between the light and the darkness within his heart. In there, he was met with the reflection of people that, in one way or another, had different effects on his life.

Firs it was his parents. Their looks remained just as he had seen them last, regardless of whether their physique still remained that way or even if they were actually still alive or not. In part, they were disappointed. They were disappointed he had killed his comrades. They were disappointed they had left the village. Just like that, the figures vanished before Konto could utter a single word. Shortly after, an image of Neru would appear as the Mizukage. While he had only known and fought her during his escape when she was an Anbu, he had heard of her recent appointment as a Mizukage. She wasn't judgmental of his decision because, like before, she was well aware of the choices he had made and the reasons that had led him to make said choices.

Instead, she questioned him for other reasons. She questioned his power. She questioned his resolve. She questioned his goal. She question his means to achieve said goals. Konto was powerful. There was no doubt about that. However, to truly bring about the peace and the justice he desired in the world of the shinobi would require immense amounts of strength. And compared to what was needed, he was a weakling. He still needed much to surpass.

With near blinding anger, he tried to reach forth and respond to Neru before she too would disappear. Instead, he would now see before him countless, likely hundreds of silhouette of a myriad of people. None which he could recognize nor whose voices he could understand. Nevertheless, their endless bickering, their protests, their sorrows, their lies, their malice; bits and pieces were nearly audible to Konto and it was making him sick.

In most ways he was about to snap. All of a sudden, still within the same light-filled place, he opened his eyes wide, coming to a very stern but honest realization. With a smile, he shifted his gaze gently down. In a second, all the silhouettes and the noise had gone away. The area was devoid of anything and anyone. Instead, aside from Konto, the area was now enveloped in darkness save for the small, dim light that was created on the very same spot Konto stood.

"I will bring justice to the world. This world is in darkness...and it needs light." So he said to himself. He had noticed the two parts of him, whether he liked it or not, were somewhat necessary. The darker side helped him get rid of the light when its influenced embarked too much and covered too much. The lighter side of him was specially useful to shine a bright light into the darkness that plagued the shinobi world. While both were indeed useful, he was sure there was much darkness in the world of the shinobi, and thus, he would be its light. He would do his best to be the light in the darkness and guide the world towards an age of peace, justice and understanding. Soon, he would triumph over his dark side. He had to believe it. And if he had faith, he was sure one day he would.

Blinking a couple of times, he found himself where he should have been all along. His sensei and the young boy were not far away. Given the scene and their behavior, it had likely just been a second or two ever since he had started with his boisterous scream. Yet it had seem like a very long and drawn out process for Konto himself. But it was a good drawn out process. Looking around him and at himself, Konto would see his body had been pushed to the limit. With his muscles quite easily defined and veins beginning to bulge, he was demonstrating an exceedingly large amount of power that was indicative of having opened the third gate. With a smile, restored resolve and greater resolution, he maintained the third gate opened for the sensei to see while he turned to the younger boy, almost sure he was also able to open it. Still, he maintained the flow of pure energy out. Though his body was doing his best to adjust to the output, he could already feel the tingling sensation towards his back. Pain was slowly approaching, and the onset of pain was likely to welcome him and the young boy with near equally harsh levels. But, like with most extreme techniques, very great power also came with very great responsibilities.

Kobachi listened intently to the Wavemaster as he began to explain the last gate he would be learning. He new this would much more difficult than the others, not only from commons sense seeing as the strain in between one and two was great, but also from the way the Wavemaster spoke about. "Only ever use, when back in a corner or when I need light . . ." The semi bilingual Genin didn't grasp what the last bit meant, but he assumed it was what people called metaphors. Something he didn't quite fully grasp all the way, other than it being used heavily in poetry. Pulling up his mental list once more he placed studying poetry under the previous goal he had set for himself. But then his list got updated once more.

"Hidden Techniques?" Those words alone were enough to get the young boys heart racing. He loved a quest for knowledge especially seeing how the techniques would be linked to the Eight Gates. The only thing he misunderstood with that was that the techniques weren't literally hidden, like hiding, rather they were rare, almost the same meaning, but not quite. Not like Kobachi would go on a scavenger hunt searching to and fro for a random scroll lying under a bed. He was naive, but wise enough not to be that foolish.

As his sensei stepped back Kobachi's eyes sharpened to resemble the eyes of a feline type animal. This showed the teen was more focused than usual, his eyes ready to almost record whatever would happen in hopes of retaining it to replay in his brain later. With the Wavemasters stance much deeper than before when he opened the second gate, Kobachi knew this was the real deal. The very earth and seemingly air around the man shook as he exerted himself to achieve the next level of power. It seemed as if at any moment the man would press his feet so hard against the earth that he would fall through at any given moment or if the earth decided to just swallow the man and stop him from crushing its surface. Kobachi couldn't make out the details in the mans eyes with them already being pale, but the presence of veins more so in the temple area didn't go unnoticed. Then subtly, the mans skin redden and at that moment Kobachi could see the mans pupils were gone due to the contrast. Loose rocks and pebbles that had been crushed under his foot then began to rise as the mans chakra became visible on the outside of his body.

If his tribesmen were present they would positively give away another child, in hopes of keeping this man happy, for they would have deemed him a deity, just like how Kobachi was given away. But with this power, this man would be seen as more than a deity, he would be marveled as a God to his family. The teens mind began to visualize the man in his red skinned state with his missing pupils walking up the mountain to the peek where his family resided. He could see each and every one of them bowing down, knees to their foreheads, then in front of them would be their children, being offered to the God in hopes of pleasing him and hoping their child would one day be as great as him. "Eight Gates . . . this is three, so there are . . . four, no five more to open." His vision focused back onto the man as he suddenly stopped. The rubble that was being lifted from the ground suspended in the air for a moment before falling, as did the ends of the Wavemasters hair.

After the delivery of the Wavemasters words, Kobachi nodded not surprised that this gate, Seimon, could incapacitate someone and it would most likely be him. Bowing to his sensei, expecting to pass out as soon as the gate opened, Kobachi thanked him for the lesson. "Thank you for the time and as well the lesson about the Eight Gates." Stepping away to a reasonable distance, he then spread his stance like how the Wavemaster did and first started with controlled breathing. In . . . and out. In . . . . and out. His eyes were closed and focused on the dark nebula that was his eye lids. Moving into the depths of his mind, he began to once again fall back on the seven chakras. Unlike the first two gates, this one had skipped a number of chakras and moved down to the spleen chakra which was next to the spinal cord as the Wavemaster said. Of the Seven Chakras, this was chakra number two, as opposed to the Crown and Brow chakra which are numbers seven and six. Kobachi had thought, the gates were opening in reverse order of the Seven Chakra's but apparently he was mistaken. Regardless Kobachi would continue.

This chakra located on the same plane as his spinal cord where the Third Gate was located was associated with emotion and the unconscious. Ironic. But digging within himself he grabbed his emotion, his passion to succeed and began to channel that fire with his chakra. His mind stayed occupied with an image of the blazing lotus that had six petals, it was a very powerful vermillion color, but inside on the seed of this lotus was a crescent moon but it was lying on its back. Subconsciously Kobachi found himself applying chakra to the gate and once he keyed in on the feeling, he forcibly began to apply not only his chakra, but his passion to break the limiter towards the limiter. Now understanding why it seemed the earth was giving way when the Wavemaster began to demonstrate opening Seimon, Kobachi's foot dug into the earth rooting himself down so he could exert more effort into opening the gate.

His blood was rushing through his body like a herd of fleeing animals, making his body feel as if he were on fire, his vision was cloudy with due to the air appearing to be distorted from the pressure being released from his body. If he could see clearly however, he would notice the pigment in his skin was beginning to phase into a more red shade. What he did notice however was the feel on his veins trailing down his airs and a shaking in his throat, that being him audibly yelling. Normally he would be embarrassed, but there was no time for that and being embarrassed about such little things were for children. Back in his tribe there was no problem with one yelling out loud feeling internal strength or vigor, that's where ones spirit came from. But he quickly learned that in the shinobi world things like that made people look foolish.

One more exhaled of oxygen was taken in his lungs, before he yelled once more this time with all his might, until he felt he had opened Seimon and when he felt that his strength was stable coasting at this new level rather than the fluctuating feel when one is trying to achieve this level. Panting heavily, his body still felt very hot, that being an understatement. At times he could swear he saw trails of steam flowing off the parts of his body that were exposed to the cool night air. "I've . . . done it." He was still catching his breath as he spoke to his sensei, until he felt a bit woozy. That feeling coming from him learning and opening three of the gates in not one session, but in the span on maybe two hours. With his step he swayed to the right, then left, and with each step he continued to stumble more until he fell flat on his face. His skin returning to its natural color and his hair falling back down, he laid on the lightly damage ground unconscious.

As the Genin would bow to the Wavemaster, he would give a nod, then from his seated position he would watch. Each pupil had taken a different approach, but in the end the had the same results. Well that was for about ten seconds until the youngest, fell over onto his face unconscious. The Wavemaster thought he would last a bit longer, but even the ten seconds he did last was amazing given he learned all that in three days. His oldest pupil however was harboring a smile. It seemed through these teachings he had become quite proud of himself, maybe it will help him conquer whatever conflict he has within. Rising to his feet he would speak. "Good job, not many can rise to the level you are now at, I acknowledge your resolve. Until next time, for this concludes this session. Be very careful though, for when the power subsides you will find yourself unable to move and when you do regain feeling, you will only be able to amount to a crawl if you're lucky. I suggest going to the resting quarters." Bowing to his only conscious student, he would allow him to go about his day while he waited with the younger one. He knew it wouldn't be smart to touch him given he could put him in pain while he was unconscious, so he would wait for his more elite students who stayed on the island with him to arrive. Once there they would heal him up, not to full health, but to the point where he could walk on his own. The he two would be on his way, both with legendary teachings.
