Overview: This technique channels a large amount of lightning chakra to the user's hand. The amount of chakra is so great that it becomes visible as the lightning emanates a dark gleam. The high concentration of electricity produces a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping, hence the name. Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and thrusts the Chidori into the target. This produces heavy amounts of damage that is usually fatal. This technique is classified as an assassination technique because of the speed at which it is performed, despite the loud noise it produces.
The Black Lightning Chidori can also be used to simply give the opponent a large electrical shock without impaling them. The body of the ninja hit by this version of the Chidori will misinterpret the lightning nature as "electrical signals from the nerves", making the ninjas muscles contract. This causes the body to involuntarily go stiff [for 5 Posts] until healed by a Medic.

- This technique has a major drawback, however. The speed at which the attack must be done, combined with the fact that the user must run in a straight line, causes a tunnel vision-like effect for the user. This allows the enemy to easily counter the attack, making it a potentially lethal move for the user.
A contributing weakness is the Physical Activation. Due to the speed required in order to pierce the target, a shinobi with taijutsu basic cannot learn this technique. The closer the Chidori is used, the more powerful it is. When the jutsu is activated within its respected range, a taijutsu adept [10m] gains the speed of a taijutsu master while a taijutsu master [15m] gets a slight increase in their speed. If activated further than their respected range, then the speed will start on their ninjas normal tier. This jutsu cannot be activated 20m away from the target or the Chidori will dissipate. If the jutsu is used as a lasting jutsu, the speed of the shinobi will decrease by one tier every post until the users speed is fixed on the basic taijutsu level. If activated at its maxed out range of 20m, then the fixed speed will be of a Basic Taijutsu for both Adept and Masters. After the shinobi is fixed on the Basic Taijutsu level, the technique when hitting the target will give the opponent a large electrical charge with the described effects of the "stiff body," rather than pierce them.
An additional problem, though not necessarily a debilitating one, is the fact that the large amount of chakra can also injure the user's hand if they put too much force into the attack. By sustaining it for 3 posts the force within the jutsu causes some of the skin to peel from the hand, leaving it slightly smouldering after the attack was finished. This should go without saying but this is the average Chidori but utilized with the black lightning.
