Mei had gotten up today no ANBU work, Genim training, or anything like that. She thought today woild be another boring day. Mei sat at her home long enough to get washed up and of course. grab a bite to eat. Soon after however, she got a message saying she was wanted at the hospital. Mei didn't get many messages from there but when they did need her it was for a good cause. So, she quickly threw on a red and white dress with some shorts under it and then she left. Mei wasn't sure if she should be in a hurry or not but seeming as the message didn't say it was ergent she walked at a normal pace. She waved to all the villagers that she loved so dear as she walked by. Soon enough, the hospital was in view.

As Mei walked around the hospitak, she could tell they were slightly buisier than normal. This was probably the reason they needed her there. Mei was after all part of the Medical Corps. and a master at Ijutsu. This was probably one of Mei's favorite parts about living in this village. She loved to help.people especially the children. So, when she got to work in the hospital it made her feel very important. Mei got to work when she could and worked very hard. After a while, Mei couldn't be in the hospital anymore so she took a trip outside the hospital. She sat back on a bench just in front of the hospital so ahe could get a breatb of air.

Stein was left in his office shortly after he finished speaking to a few doctors, it seemed they had important business to attend to, while they left Stein got back to some light studies, it was dark inside his office with flickering computer screens everywhere.  He stood up as he examined the place from top to bottom, all of his research about his jutsu is coming along nicely. He had a grin on face as he to went threw some books and medical documents, this place had it all, Stein could get use to this. He set his sights on the thesis that was left to him by his earlier work.

"Poison Immunity...Hmm", he then found the thesis as he sat in rains chair glancing over the document. "This really interesting... White blood cells, or leukocytes (also spelled "leucocytes"; from the Greek word leuko- meaning "white"), are cells of the immune system involved in defending the body against both infectious disease and foreign materials. Five different and diverse types of leukocytes exist, but they are all produced and derived from a multi potent cell in the bone marrow known as a hematopoietic stem cell. They live for about 3 to 4 days in the average human body. Leukocytes are found throughout the body, including the blood and lymphatic system... This would probably be the main asset to the equation...", his brain started jolting thoughts and ideas together to add notes to the thesis.

Not long after that he came up with a new prototype jutsu which he really wanted to test out. He left the room as he walked down the hallway to where the herbs were held. After the preparations and herb gathering he made a non lethal poison, one that would numb the body but not to an extreme measure. Stein then gathered chakra to target his white blood cells and this took a lot of chakra control to master, when he thought he got it under control he cut his arm and entered the made non lethal poison into his blood stream. For the jutsu to be a success his body shouldn't be numbed and the white blood cells should contain the poison. 5 mins past and Stein still felt the same, it seemed to have worked but he needed one more test. He walked out to fetch a wild rat and return to the room to do some practical work. He cut his arm slighty and the blood dripped into the rats mouth, not long after that the rat started to get slower and slower in motion."New jutsu complete....", he said when he done finishing applying his added notes to his thesis.

After he had to clean the the lab that he was in, all the scalpels and medical equipment were rearranged into proper order. Stein got to moping the floor and the corridors, and not long after he had most of the area in the hospital cleaned. He cleaned the windows after he rested a bit, and rearrange the books in the rooms. After he done his duty he left the hospital to come out for a cig only to notice a pretty girl on the bench, the doctor was stood in his stitched up uniform, with his lab coat showing. He knew she was apart of the medical corps but didn't really speak to her, Stein wasn't the strong speaking type but he was in a good mood after the thesis. "Mind if I sit here...", he said blowing smoke out his mouth peering down at the girl with tired looking eyes through the huge spectacles. He twisted his bolt in his head before he waited for her reply.

Sitting in the bench, Mei started to look out at the sand. She wondered what it would be like if there were actually birds around and maybe some plants growing. Mei had seen the beauty of many other places and tried to see it all in Suna. She knew Suna had it's own beauty. It was in the sand that sparkled like the stars in the sky. Suddenly, Mei heard a voice beside her. This made her jump a slight bit but not enough to be noticed. After hearing the voice, Mei turned and smiled.

Mei.looked at the man standing near her. He was dressed in a doctors coat so she assumed he must be from the hospital. After looking at his outfit, she moved her eyes to the man's head. Mei noticed a giant bolt sticking out of the man's head but it seemed to be a "part" of him. Then, she looked more at his face. Most of his glasses reflected sunlight which made it harder for Mei to see the man's eyes. However, for a breif second she did get a slight glimps of the tired look in his eyes.

Then she spoke, "Why of course. After being in that hospital for a while I can understand how tiring it would be." Mei smiled at the man. She didn't know much about him but she didn't mind finding out.

Stein still stood for awhile before he sat down next to her, it was true he was tired but he could rest when he's dead because there is wonders to be made. Keeping personal space between them as he was sat with his legs apart in a slouch manner, he had the cig in his right hand which slowly made its way to his mouth to take a drag before he opened his mouth, "Well that is true... I have spent all my adult years in the lab... 5 years without coming out of the lab until recently... To me its my sanctuary... And I am chief of the so of course I have to be present at all times...", he said in a calm lazy tone, he had a small smirk on his face before he turned his head towards her. He examined her as he does all the people he meets, not in a flirty way, but she resembled a girl he once used for an experiment. "Usually I wouldn't forget a pretty face... But I'm assuming your still apart of the Corps? ... Its really busy in there and so I just assumed you was on a break...", he said in the same manner of tone, Stein was the person to let his thoughts just come out, it was better talking to someone then to himself, which he did for 5 years. Keeping the cig in his mouth he leaned his head back so he could fully relax on the bench, he waited for her to reply.

Mei sat on the bench looking at the man. Listening to him she realized who he was since he had just told her. Then, she got confused for she had never met the man then it dawned on her. "Well it is very nice to meet you sir. Yes, I am apart of the Med. Corps. Oh you did not forget my face because we have not met but you must have met my mother. I look very much like her but she died a while ago from an illness." Mei didn't talk about her mother much for it made her slightly upset. Her mother was very dear to her.

Now that Stein looked at her properly it was the mother he saw before, the lady died in his hands as he used his medical skills to keep her alive. It was even more twisted then that, the mother was one of Steins crazy experiments and thus was the one who gave the mother the illness. The doctor looked her in here eyes as he was going to own up for the hideous crime but with a twist on the story, as he wanted to see how she would cope, and if it went his way he would she what she is capable off. Stein had an eye for scoping out talent and skills just from first glance, "Oh you mother... Now i do see a resemblance ... It was I who operated on her... Trying to save her life... But the story went deeper then that... She was exposed to a new poison being made by the kazekage... He is responsible... I tell you this because I know i can sense a lust for power...", Stein said with low tone of voice, he was up to his mind games and in truth in need of a 2nd in command. He too was starting to realize that there is so much more then the village life. He just wanted her to be enlightened.

As Mei sat and listened to the man her eyes widened. 'There is no way. Not the Kazekage. Is that possible?' This is what she thought as she stared at the man. The man who she worked for the one who was supposed to love the village the most had killed her mother. She didn't believe it but then again she had seen many fakes but she couldn't be sure. Her mother loved the village and respected it with all her heart. Had she really been killed? Mei had only thought that she got sick while on a mission. Then, Mei spoke bearly getting the words outof her mouth. "No it can't be. Would the Kazekage really be like that?" It was al
ost as if Mei was in some kind of shock.

"Well this village cant be trusted... The kazekage aint that sweet... Hes been doing these experiments for a couple years now... I know cos im the cheif Medic... Sorry to say your mothers last mission was to be a guinea pig... As i told myself from a child the world is a place of many experiments... We are all his experiments in the village... Thats the conspiracy but as a doctor i wont stand for this...", Stein still said with a low tone of voice, reassuring her that everything he said was the full honest truth. He was carrying his plan out now that he got her attention, it would take a matter of time to fully convert her, all he had to do was plant the seed in her brain and watch it grow. Still having the cig in his mouth Stein had a drag on it before blowing out the smoke around them. He waited for her reply and the chance to win her over.

Staring at the man Mei's eyes started to water. 'The village was being played by the Kazekage? Had he really been playing this messed up game the whole time without anyone knowing? It couldn't be. He was always kind to the villagers but this could also be so that no suspicion came towards him. Her mother was just a guinea pig? After all she had done for the village and the Kazekage. She poured everything into the village and this is what happened.' These were all the thoughts eunning through Mei's mind. Mei was supposed to be a member of the ANBU. Mei was supposed to be one of the most loyal to him and the village. That wasn't the case anymore all Mei cared for now was the villagers. However they were out in puplic so she could not talkabout the Kazekage aloud. So, she straightened herself up and asked the man, "Does anyone else know what the Kazekage is doing and is he working with anyone?" Mei wanted to know everything and then in avery soft voice she said, "I am not sure if this is right but I want revenge. I don't wanna see other people suffer because of a man who is fake. I will not let this go on." And that was all she said before turning back. Mei couldn't tell if she would shed a tear or not and did not want this man to see it.

Ryo was on his way to go meet a friend at the medical hospital where he worked. Although he was always curious about what Dr. Stein's ultimate goals were in life, and a little disturbed by his over interest in his bloodline, he found Dr. Stein to be a loyal shinobi working for the common good of the village. He was eager to discuss with Stein the latest news of the village and to catch up for old times sake, but overheard a bit of the conversation on his way around the corner. Although he didn't hear much about these shady missions the village was taking on through the Kazekage, he knew he hadn't heard from the Kage in quite some time.

As he turned the corner, he saw a young kunoichi who had taken his eye. Ryo was for certain she was an ANBU, remembering the brunette from the files he had been sorting through, but didn't have the pleasure of meeting such a fine young women. Hearing the last bit of the conversation from the women, Ryo thought he would give some input on the conversation. "Well, if it isn't Dr. Stein, I was hoping to find you around hear." He then met eyes with the female shinobi, as a bit of nervousness hit his system. Ryo swallowed before continuing his thought, "I don't believe we've met before. My name is Ryo."

Steins plan had work to a certain degree, having this girl converted to his will was simple enough. He would have to end the conversation on a strong note if he wanted the madness to continue, as long as he himself was seen as an angel in peoples eye, his disguise he would have to put up for a little while longer. Looking into the girls eyes he could see how it watered slowly, his speech must of hit a nerve. Taking another drag on his cig, he blew the smoke out slowly before he flicked the cig that was finished in his hand. It was just as he assumed that she wanted to know more, this was where he would end it on a high. "Does anyone else know what the Kazekage is doing? ... To my knowledge no one in the village does except for me... He has covered the blinds over the villagers eyes... and if he is working with any one else... My guess would be as good as yours the other kages... Its such a secret project... It is ok to feel hatred and revenge... And if it would make you feel at ease... I too am against his agenda, that is why im working on being free... Together we can help the villagers...", Stein said in a warm tone of voice, his eyes plastered on her as she stood up, maybe to hide her emotions from the doctors awareness. Turning her back on him gave stein the smallest smirk on his face.

His thoughts was starting to race into endless feats when his concentration was broke by another voice, one he did recognize but hadn't hear in long while. Turn his head towards the other figure he rose his left hand to turn the bolt in his head before replying, "Greetings Ryo... It sure has been awhile... Taking care of the ANBU I presume...", he said to Ryo with a warm grin on his face, he too stood up to be leveled with the fellow ninjas. His friend Ryo came from a clan which Stein wanted to study, it would help in one of his future projects. Stein waited as he watched Ryo confront the girl.

Mei had been looking away from the man of the bench. She was still listening and taking everything in. It was very hard for her to think it was the Kazekages fault but at the same time she believed this man. This frustrated her and she probably would have let her emotions out had another man came. He adressed the man sitting behind her as Stein. Then, he greeted her and as soon as he did she realized who he was. It was the ANBU Captain. Quickly she rubbed her eyes realizing she was about to cry and gathered herself up. It looked almost as if Mei had not even thought about crying in the first place. All she could think was 'No Emotions' as she spoke to the man. Mei even managed to give a smile, "It's nice to meet you, sir. I am Mei." She was very convincing but she didn't know how well it would work since he was of course an ANBU Captain.

After greeting both of the two shinobi on the bench, Ryo noticed that young Mei appeared to have been troubled by something.  Her eyes were watery, and if he had heard correctly, he had interrupted a touchy subject of the village.  Ryo offered a gentle hand to the back of Mei, and a comforting rub soon followed.  He knew what difficult times Mei had fallen under, between the mysterious ways of the Kazekage’s actions, and the personal ties that had been taken away from her, it had become too much for her to handle on her own.  “It’s alright Mei, although we are taught to ignore our emotions, they are one of the few things in this world that makes us human.”

He had remembered reading over some of the old jutsu creations that were being ordered by the Kazekage, including the order on Mei’s mother.  Unfortunately, these same practices and desires had made the village weak, relying on an easy and quick answer for a difficult problem.  Numbers of shinobi were down, and their village was often overlooked for the more difficult missions from the nobles.  He had a lot of ideas to remedy the problem, but his little to no contact with the Kazekage made it difficult to execute these orders.  “Unfortunately, Dr. Stein’s words are true.  We must right the wrongs of the village, and rebuild what was once a glorious oasis of the sands.  It will take time, but I’m sure under the right leader, and with the support of loyal shinobi, we can return to the golden age of Sunagakure.”

Ryo once again looked to Mei, someone who continued to take his breath away for how strong she was, both mentally and in her abilities.  He had hoped his words provided Mei with a sense of comfort.  Ryo then turned his head to look at Dr. Stein, and continued to wonder what his next plan was, for both Suna and himself.

Well it was all fitting together for the best of Stein, he watched as the ANBU members had their touchy moment. Times like these Stein would keep a straight facial expression, he wasn't too much of the showing sympathy unless he had to fake it. Having felt a warm breeze enter the area, it caused his lab coat to flutter violently in the wind as he stood in the same manner. Now he could go to "Phase 2" of his plan because their was no time to waste, using his left hand to screw the bolt in his head he had many ideas he needed to make reality and with that thought he carried on to speak after Ryo's warming speech. "Well said Ryo... And I do think it is time to go further with this experiment... Once again I do thank you for taking time out to help with my research... Shall we?", he said with warm tone of voice to Ryo as he kept steady eye contact with him.

Stein then walked up a bit so he was standing with the both of them, pushing back his glasses which was slowly slipping down his face with his hand. He placed his hand on Mei's shoulder gently, "Well Mei we can talk about the conspiracies of the village but action speak louder then words... As for me I never waste a talent when I see one... So would you like to accompany me on the experiment project... If you do then follow me...", he said warmly, with a small smirk on his face so only Mei could see before he lifted his hand from her shoulder and kept walking towards the entrance of the hospital leaving the both ANBU's behind him. The lab coat fluttering was the only thing they could see from behind.

Mei stood there looking at the Ryo and for a moment she thought he would ignore the subject but he didn't. Aftera moment, She felt his hand on her back, which made her tense for a moment. Then, She relaxed. Mei listened to Ryo and went still. So, everything the doctor said was true. Her mother was just part on some expirement that the Kazekage was instructing. Mei would make sure that the Kazekage would not get away with anything else. She would protect the village from his awful expirements no matter what.

Mei looked to the doctor as he stood next to the two. She heard him speak before but was paying no mind because of her own thoughts. She felt his hand on her shoulder. Mei listened to him and even though she didn't know what this experiment project was she wanted to help. If this experiment was a way for her to get revenge on the Kazekage and protect the village she would do it. After watching the man walk for a moment, she looked to Ryo and back again. Then, she started to walk after the doctor ready to do whatever she was told.

Ryo listened to Stein’s words after him, and grew very suspicious.  He was aware of his friend’s lust for experimentation and fascination with certain individuals.  After all, the ANBU captain was sure that Stein dreamed about taking a blood or tissue sample from him or any of the other clans in the village.  Mei seemed to take in the doctor’s words much deeper than his own, with the phrases painted by Stein luring her closer to his hands.  Although Ryo admired Stein for his medical work, he had a bad feeling about the path he was now walking.

As the doctor began to leave the room, Mei looked once again at Ryo before walking further into the hospital.  He needed to say something, he figured Mei’s last look at him was a sign that she didn’t fully believe in revenge.  “Mei, don’t let revenge cloud your judgment and fuel your strength.  You would only be doing a disservice to your mother’s legacy.  Let your love for this village and all of its inhabitants be your strength, and you will be able to make huge changes for this village.  Hatred only breeds more hatred, and I don’t want to lose you to it.”  He paused to smile a bit, looking directly into her eyes before finishing his thought, “That is where my strength comes from, protecting those devoted to this village.”  With that he said a brief farewell to the kunoichi, and proceeded about of the hospital towards his office.  He would want to retrace every detail about his encounter, for he was certain that Stein, Mei, and himself would make up three of the greatest shinobi of their generation.
