Trying New Things (Open Rp)

Hitomi was crossing paths alongside the dirt road of the city when she noticed the food stand shop. She had skipped her lunch since her mom had tried a hand at cooking after coming home. Knowing her and her antics Hitomi decided to have skipped it by not wanting to be sick from who knows what her mother made. She held her stomach with it's growls and sighed walking into the shop.

She sat on one of the bar stools and looked around at the hasty workers. She'd never really eaten out, thinking home made food tends to be the better idea but soon as she remembered her mother's creations she gagged a bit and looked at the menu. She was a bit surprised to find spicy noodles on the menu and smiled. "The spicy noodle challenge please?" She said pointing to the menu.

The sky was quite nice today. It was clear for the most part with a white fluff here and there. Well, from his current view he only caught small glimpses at the firmament, through the many openings from the mass of leaves and branches above him. At the moment Rias was in the midst of one of his daily naps, yet decided to do a little cloud watching before sinking into his slumber. Laid out on a rather wide branch, the genin had his hands cushion his head whilst he bathed in the shade and the rays that penetrated the tree's foliage. Also, as usual his red kimono lie between him and the rough tree bark, which left his upper body bare showing the large tribal tattoo, the rest of his attire consisted of light brown pants and black ninja sandals. Yuki, his aunt, had told him she would be shopping at the market today and that she wouldn't need any assistance with carrying the groceries. Leaving him to have some free time from chores and the like. Rias would probably go to check up on her later, just to help her anyway. He didn't mind helping her with anything, the two of them being family and all. Not really of a blood-relation but she had raised for as long as he could remember, so it would make sense that they would have a strong bond.

"Ahhhhhgghhaaa" Closing his eyes, Rias let loose a relaxing yawn. He planned to nap here for a few hours or longer in which case Yuki would come find him and drag him home. That was the plan until his nose caught whiff of a tasty scent, urging his right eye to open and glance at the ramen shop across the road from him. Retracting his gaze, the crimson eye closed once again as a small grin crossed his visage before a single word escaped his lips. "Foooood." Moving to get up, Rias sluggishly stretched, before he draped his kimono over his shoulders and dropped from the branch to the firm earth below. Continuing his small trek to the shop, he brought his hand over his mouth to muffle another yawn that had arose from within. This was going to be difficult, on his schedule it was for him to be sleeping at this time. Welp, he'd just have to put in over time later on today.

After entering the ramen shop, he sat on one of the bar stools. Already knowing what he wanted he waited for someone to take his order, luckily someone came right away. "Ahh, yes can I have a large bowl of ramen with pork." While waiting for his snack, which is what a large bowl of ramen is, he decide to check out any others who were here. The crimson orbs that were his eyes caught hold of a girl with auburn hair, she was about two seats down from him. Noticing the headband on arm, he knew she must be a leaf kunoichi and that piqued his interest a bit. Thinking it would be nice to start a conversation as he waited. So turning to face her he waved a bit. "Hey there, how's it going?

The chef soon handed her meal and she began chowing down. The noodles had a hint of red along with two peppers that laid against the side of the bowl. It definitely looked like a challenge just to not get a red tongue. However she herself was very used to the taste no matter if it were red pepper or green. She kept busily eating away enjoying the spicy food as if there was no spice at all. She seemed content enough to just keep eating when another customer walked in.

At first she wanted to just ignore it and keep going, the food was really good after all and she wasn't one to sit and chat, however after a bit the boy in the red kimono started to chat with her she stopped for a moment of silence then turned her head to him ready to greet. She held her hand up to wave but soon as she did she stopped and looked for a moment. She soon found herself becoming red faced almost as red as her hair and lowered her hand quickly turning away. "I-uh...it's the peppers...sorry." She quickly stated not really wanting to embarrass herself by looking back.

"Hm?" Was all he managed after seeing her turn away after attempting a wave. Rias looked on as he noticed her face become a red hue, then looking to the ramen she was eating. "Oh, is it really that hot?" That explained it, maybe the peppers were a little bit too much for her. As he spoke a calm smile formed while he kept his attention pinned on the girl. this was broken a second later as a large bowl was placed before him along with a pair of chopsticks beside it. Looking over the bowl, its contents were a lake of noodles with some slices of savory pork within and against the rim of the bowl. Soon, he parted the chopsticks from one another and dove them in to draw up a few long noodles, before bringing them to meet his maw. As soon as the taste hit his taste buds, his face became contorted to one of joy. They were delicious! Sucking the seemingly infinite noodles into his mouth, Rias moved to pick out a slice of pork to devour next. *Slurp* "Hahh, ramen is such a nice thing..." Halting the piece of pork from entering his mouth, the genin caught sight of her headband once again. He didn't wear his like the other ninja of Konoha, it being kind of unnecessary for him. He knew he was raised here in the land of fire but his home of birth was that of the hidden mist. Though he was only a baby then, his parents often told him of what it was like. Heh, a bit of mixed loyalty but nothing really serious, though he did think of at least visiting the village his parents once called home.

Glancing to the girl, Rias had remembered something. "Oh yeah, I apologize, my name is Rias Masumi. Nice to meet you." Introducing himself somewhat late, he continued on with a question. "So I see you're a kunoichi, that's coo. Have you been on any missions and if you don't mind could you tell me about them? " The reason for this question was that he had not been on any, between sleeping and helping his aunt during the day plus training out in the forest at night, there was no time. Mostly it was due to training, Rias enjoyed training to his heart's content under the luminescence of the moon at night. Practicing his taijutsu, ninjutsu, and kenjutsu skills along with other techniques to further increase his battle prowess. Anyway, he wanted to hear from her about the nature of the missions she had went on so far.

She didn't really look back at him, so rude of herself. She then stopped a moment and finished the ramen quickly. She wasn't having pepper problems, not really, but it was the only excuse she could grasp at to seem normal for her reaction. She then took a breath to calm down closing her eyes and pushing the now empty bowl away thanking the chef. She took a minute to get her head together once more and focus. As he spoke to her and explained himself she nodded still not really turning to him.

"I-I...Hitomi, Shiruku..." She stated as calmly as she could though it was so quiet. She then heard his other question. "I've only been on one...Genin are assigned tasks for simple things to help the village out but not get into a mess of things..." She took a minute huffing out not very well suited to chatting with others. She however did remember she needed to train with her Jounin Sensei sometime soon. "We do train however, I'm awaiting my Sensei's return for him to teach me an A rank move in case of trouble in the future. It, it's always good to arm yourself with what you can." She smiled a little calming down thinking about training.

It wasn't so much the training so much as the weather she loved to train in, calm breezy skies of bright blue. It almost felt like a dream but she soon snapped out of her little day dream and back to reality. She then realized something "Hey, if you don't have a team yet you um...uh-" She paused a moment unsure how to ask. "Could join mine and my Sensei, h-he's able to teach us...high ranked skills a-and maybe it could allow us to do much more um...adventurous missions?" She paused knowing that sounded so awkward to herself but she couldn't just slip under the table and hide away.

So her name was Hitomi Shiruku, luckily it wasn't noisy inside the shop or he would not have heard her. It was a nice name. Though was she usually this quiet or was she just nervous. Rias assumed the latter as he watched and listened to her response. As he did so, a smile was apparent upon him. He was glad that she took the time to answer his question. "I see, so that's how it is." From her feedback, she had only been on one mission so far, but had been training a lot with her sensei. So genin were basically the little guys of the village, this much Rias had already knew but he wasn't one to for small tasks when it came to his training, as well as being a shinobi. Its not like he was looking to prove himself to the village or anyone else, but he at least wanted a challenge. As he pondered about the reason why he should do low missions after training so hard, he'd look over at Hitomi as she was daydreaming. The crimson eyes of his caught her as she gently smiled. ~Ah...such a nice smile...~ That single phrase echoed in his mind as he looked on. The genin wondered what made her at ease so quickly. Was she thinking of her sensei? Or was it just training in general? Whatever the case, it was easily infectious causing Rias to grin as he began taking in scoops of his noodles.

Soon, Hitomi had begun to speak again getting his attention from his ramen. She was asking if he wanted to join her team or not. Closing his eyes, Rias thought about it for a bit. Well, it was true that he didn't belong to a team or have a sensei. He hadn't really been looking for one. There was no reason to decline her offer. Although being on a team would require some changes to his day to day schedule. ~Wait...what if this keeps me from my sleep? Hmm nah, I'd just sneak away for a nap if it calls for it. Ha, problem solved.~ Opening his eyes and returning from his mental debate. "Heh, alright I'll join your team. But are you sure Shiruku-san? I mean you just met me. With that he rose from his seat and crossed his arms as he inquired Hitomi about her choice.

She noted him nod upon her answer and figured he understood. It is unfortunate that Genin weren't put to more adventurous work however she had learned to know some of the dangers outside the village from herself and was more than content to wait upon it until she knew she would be able to handle them in a much safer environment. But atleast he wasn't immature about the situation and whined or complained about needing a better challenge, that is unlike many of her classmates that she usually deemed the namesake.

It was a bit sudden for her to ask the question beforehand though and she soon realized how odd she had been acting. Why, why would she of all people trust a near stranger. It was odd to herself to even trust the ones she did know but she seemed not to care much for it. His question was the same one she had in mind. However, she found an answer for it. "Well don't get me wrong but, there's a saying that sorta goes around the village and it's stupid but-" She stopped to chuckle a little. "Anyone who likes Ichiraku Ramen can't be all bad." She smiled a little allowing him time to answer.

However she realized he didn't use her first name. In fact many of the village used her first name so it was a bit off putting to hear it said in such a way. She lost her smile and seemed just as awkward if not more so than before. Silencing and red faced trying to hide it with her hands.

"Oh? Is that so..." Rias questioned the phrase for a bit as he rubbed his chin. Well now, he for one couldn't really argue with that. He didn't see himself as a bad guy either but then again, good and bad are just words. Then people view good and bad differently as it varies from person to person, meaning one person's white knight in shining armor is another's black knight. Looking outside the restaurant, he watched the leaves dance on their branches whilst he thought. But whatever, Rias took on a more placid facial expression as he nodded in acceptance. "Okay, if its fine with you then you have yourself a new teammate." It would surely be interesting to be on a squad for a while, and Shiruku-san seemed to be just as interesting. Maybe he could get better from training with this sensei of hers. ~I wonder how strong he is. Well i'll see sometime soon so no need to rush.~

Bringing his gaze back to Shiruku-san, he noticed her hands on her red face. ~Ah, hehe that's cute. I wonder what made her like that now?~ She seemed fine just a second ago, so what could've triggered that reaction. "Hm. Hey, Shiruku-san, are you okay? Rias asked, he somewhat knew but not really. Though from this conversation so far he could tell that she was the shy type, but something else was there. His raven colored hair along with the kimono that draped his shoulders soon began to sway as a light breeze came into the ramen shop.

She tried to calm down her red face for the moment and felt the wind hit her back. It was always nice to feel the wind. So very nice to herself, that she smiled a little closing her eyes to feel the wind a bit better. She seemed content once more but snapped from it all when he said her name again. She took a minute trying to avoid nervousness. "I-I'm sorry...um My name, I'm just not accustomed to it being said in such a way." She really didn't try much to look to him but the wind also had her try not to just fall into a day dream either. Both were just as hard to avoid.

Yet she didn't want to avoid them. "I don't mind I just...need to get used to it I suppose." She said still a bit pink flushed which brought out her bright blue eyes as if they glowed but glowing was impossible for her to do. However she did perk up a bit for a moment smiling. "Um...wanna go to the training court then? Thing is, I usually go there about now to practice alone or....eh I'm so ashamed to say I nap in the mid day." She was a little ashamed of her naps from time to time but it was hard not to in such beautiful warm windy weather. It was like nature called for one to rest at that time.

The reason behind her current state was soon noted to be, simply, that she was not used to being called by her last name. Which was odd to Rias, who was raised to speak to others this way in a polite manner in the country side. Either, a lot of the people here were rude, at least from his perspective, or they were really close knitted. How he did not notice this beforehand with anyone else was probably due to the fact that he spent most of his time alone or with his aunt. So he wasn't able to catch the difference in how he referred to others from that of everyone else. Beside that thought, Rias believed he should apologize to her despite her voicing of it being okay. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize it would make you uncomfortable..." As he spoke his head moved down in a small bowing motion. Raising his head back to it's previous position, he noticed her eyes. They were like two clear spheres of cyan and managed to somewhat catch his own crimson orbs in their light. This was quickly cut short as he heard her voice. His eyes then calmed themselves to their usual look while she spoke.

"Its fine with me, the weather is nice today for a good training session. Also, you shouldn't be ashamed of taking naps there. If thats how you are then its simply that. I take naps very often as well, its just a good relaxing practice. So if you say you're ashamed of doing that, then I might feel a bit bad myself." A gentle smile on his face he moved to be just a step outside of the establishment and wait on her to continue towards the training grounds.

She smiled a little almost wanting to laugh. "No, I'm just ashamed because it's meant to be training time and yet I change the schedule for something that could be done later." She took a moment then got up paying for her food whilst nodding her head respectively to the chefs. "Well then let's head off I suppose, I do want to learn to control my chakra a bit better. Also you can possibly meet my sensei!"

She then thought a moment tapping her head as if thinking. "By the way if I may ask, what kind of jutsu do you prefer? I want to know so I can back off if need be from a larger attack. I prefer Wind style ninjutsu thus you'll notice if it's happening sooner than later." She looked at him for a moment up and down to try to figure it out on her own. Most she could guess was a fire type user. It's common for fire users to wear much warmer colors but loose fitting so as to not catch them on fire itself. However her kind, which were the wind, tend to wear tighter fit and light colored clothing so the clothes wouldn't catch the wind itself and give speed to the wearer.

However she didn't want to judge him to soon and outright say what he was, if he wasn't. So she awaited his answer

"Ah, haha, I see." He replied as she readied herself for their departure. Looking up, Rias saw that the sun was still high in the sky yet was making its way to descend in the next couple of hours. He inferred that his aunt, Yuki, was most likely on her way home from the market to prepare dinner. So he still had a bunch of time slack off till then, most likely he wouldn't be back in time to help but he'd make it up by washing the dishes later. As he brought his attention back down, he saw Shiruku-san was ready to leave and had been speaking of training as well as meeting her sensei. "Hm, that would be interesting." He stated as he began a relaxed stroll. Then she asked him about his chakra nature whilst tapping her head which was kind of funny. The act of witnessing warranted a smile from him, as he answered. "Well then, it seems you hold an advantage over me, Shiruku-san. I utilize lightning style jutsu." Her being a wind-type didn't really surprise Rias all that much, it actually fitted her personality quite well. "Also, you don't have to worry about backing off. I don't have any big jutsu like that, i'm more of a physical fighter at the moment. Yep, Rias was more of a precise, accurate fighter. Instead of attacking a broad range, he would focus on a vital point to strike a winning blow. With that he continued down the road towards the training grounds.
