Chikara Shurajo

“Blood Shield!” Chikara loudly shouted, holding her hand out in front of her upon finishing the four necessary seals for the technique. Blood withdrew itself from a wound upon her arm, a self inflicted wound that was necessary so that she may perform the jutsu. She was not concerned about scarring, no for the small cut would heal overtime unless she decided to have her papa take a crack at it, or herself. She watched, closely and carefully as the red droplets attempted to form a shield around herself, but as it slowly constructed itself, she took note that the process was much too slow for her taste. A slow shield would prove worthless to her in actual combat, and thus she would need to work on this technique a little more before it could form as quickly as she wanted it to.

She sighed deeply, allowing the half made, half harden shield form back into the sticky substance that was her blood before splatting itself upon the ground beneath her feet, staining the grass red. She looked at the stained ground for a moment, not concerned with the fact that she had wasted a good amount of blood that would leave some people faint, but due to being born a Shurajo, she didn’t have to worry about the side effects that plagued those who lose a certain amount of blood. Instead of panicking over the fact that she had allowed her blood to go to waste, she allowed her eyes to travel to the tree that laid a couple feet from her.

Chikara wasn’t actually staring at the tree itself, more the person who laid beneath the tree, the person who she so fondly referred to as papa. He stared back, giving an approving nod before indicating with the circular motion of his hands that she should continue on. Usually her papa would help her with these daunting task, but since the ability she was aiming to perfect pertained to her bloodline limit, the man she has come to rely on would be of no help in that department. Maybe if he had encountered people of the same descendent as herself, but from what she gathered over her short year within the village, people of the Shurajo clan were few in number. In essence, her people were a rare sight to behold, not many of them roamed the world.

She didn’t know how she should had felt about the piece of information when she had uncovered it. And she had found herself feeling quite frustrated that she didn’t know how to proceed, she always found herself getting frustrated when she could not convey her emotions properly. And thus instead of allowing her frustration turn to anger, she had pushed it into the furthest corners of her mind, to dwell upon on a later date. When that time was, she had no clue, but she would not allow it to bother her, not even a little bit.

Chikara sighed deeply, turning her attention from her papa to the task at hand, perfecting this shield so that the two may depart for home. Papa had warned her that it was rare for one to figure out the mechanics of a jutsu as well as how to deploy said jutsu in a single day, but she was determined to do so. It was why she had arrived at the training grounds before the sun could pierce the thick blanket of mist, and why she was still there after the sun had rose into the highest point in the sky, dissipating the mist. It was also why she found herself quite hungry, her stomach growling loudly as if she didn’t know that she had skipped out on breakfast as well as missing lunch.

Her growling stomach would certainly be a motivator of getting this jutsu mastered as quickly as possible. She took a deep breath, shutting her eyes as she envisioned the shield that she wanted before once again performing the necessary hand seals. Repeating what she had did last time, she lifted her hand in front of her and watched as her blood developed the shield, much faster than it had earlier may she add. And even though the shield wasn’t forming as fast as she wanted it too, it constructing itself faster than earlier meant she was making progress. She once again allowed her blood to splat upon the ground once again, a sigh escaping her lips as the grass beneath her feet darken.

She wished there was another Shurajo within the village that could help her with this task, but there was no point in wishing for something that wasn’t going to come. So once again, Chikara repeated the process of constructing the shield, becoming more and more elated the faster the technique would form. An hour went by before she would take a break, glancing over at her papa who had fallen asleep. She giggled, shaking her head as she glanced down at her feet, huffing as she rotated her ankle. She determined that she would try this jutsu out a couple more times before calling it a day, and she would perfect this technique within that time frame.

With a great deal of enthusiasm, Chikara once again formed the hand seals, but before she could bring her hand up, her blood that had stained the ground spring to life, quickly forming the blood shield. She jumped, quite surprise with what had occurred, but she soon bust out in a fit of giggles. She had done it, finally the technique had worked. The shield had been form before her as quickly as she desired for it to go, and without any prompting from her hands to tell it where she wanted it to be. The shield dropped, returning the blood back to the ground, but the elated Genin hardly noticed. She jumped up victoriously, before making a mad dash to her papa’s side, shaking him awake before announcing cheerfully that she had done it.

Her papa, with a smile upon his face, would pet her head and congratulate her. And without further ado, the two departed from the training grounds so that they could finally satisfy their hunger.

Chikara Shurajo

“So just channel chakra into that paper,” Chikara pointed at the piece of paper that laid within the palm of her hand, “and it shall tell me what my elemental affinity is?” She glanced up at her papa, the man a couple feet from her position though due to his height, his shadow loomed over her small form. She cocked her head to the side as she looked intently at the piece of paper that would determine what affinity she had. Honestly, she really could careless, but her papa had advised her to learn her element and she complied. Really, there was no arguing with the man.

“That’s the basic gist,” the man responded, staring intently at the one he took care of by orders of the previous Mizukage. It surprised him that with only a year of knowing the little Shurajo, he had become quite fond of her and her of him. He knew that the little lady trusted him wholeheartedly, and she rarely went against his suggestions, she valuing his advice. It was almost as if Chikara was his daughter, and they certainly shared a father daughter relationship. The little one liked to sleep in his bed, and he welcomed her with open arms, albeit he would never tell a soul for people had the tendency of seeing something so innocent and turning it to something perverse.

Chikara nodded her head, taking a deep sigh as she commanded her chakra to come forth into the palm of her hand. From what her papa had told her, determining her chakra nature shall be simple enough by looking at the results of the paper. A fire affinity would ignite the paper and turn it to ashes, wind would split the paper in two, lightning would wrinkle it, earth would turn the paper into dirt before crumbling away, and water would either wet the paper or make it damp. He promised after they determined her affinity that he would tell her the pros and cons of said affinity. So, she quickly channeled the gathered chakra into the paper.

She stared closely at the paper, watching it turn to dirt before crumbling away. She quickly dropped what laid within the palm of her hand, wiping her hand upon her jacket before turning her eyes onto her papa. “Earth,” she chirped, quite happy with the element she had ended up with. Now time to learn the pros and cons of her element.

“Well, you certainly ended up with a good element,” the man proclaimed, seemingly surprise that she had gotten something like earth, “I thought you would had been water, though earth does suit you more.” He smiled, folding his arms as he cleared his throat. “Well, earth is a good defensive element as well as offensive, though you can tell that earth would lean more towards defense. It’s perhaps the best element to end up with if you are looking to be a defensive individual, especially with the jutsu associated with the element.”

“Earth users have an advantage over water users, the element being stronger than water. But earth users are at a disadvantage when faced with somebody with lightning, the element being pierced quite easily. So you need to watch out when it comes to lightning user, or be rather wary of them since you shouldn’t underestimate any of your opponents regardless of the fact you have the better element.”

Chikara nodded her head in understanding. “Lunch?” She asked, grinning at her papa, “you can advise me while we eat onigiri.”

The man chuckled, shaking his head as he ruffled Chikara’s hair. “That sounds like a plan.”

Chikara Shurajo

Crimson Death, a technique very similar to the Hidden Mist, but far deadlier than the Hidden Mist could hope to be. It was a technique that required the Shurajo to expel blood from their body, before the blood heated itself up, forcing itself into a vaporous form, a menacing red smokescreen the final product. A fancy technique indeed, and one would, if seeing the technique for the very first time, would believe that it was simply the Hidden Mist technique except the color having been changed to red. These same people would be wrong, for as they breath in the red mist, they would allow the Nirokueki, the poison that naturally runs through the veins of those descended from the Shurajo clan, to enter their blood stream.

Crimson Death, a useful Shurajo technique that Chikara would be learning on this particular day, haven garnered the information about said techniques from a scroll her papa had supplied her days before he had departed on his mission. How he had managed to find something like this, she had no idea and she doubt very much she would ever know how her papa got his hands on this Shurajo clan technique, as well as the several others he had given her. It wasn’t like she would ask about it either, very grateful that her papa had even gone through the trouble of supplying her with scrolls on her clan techniques, as well as a few scrolls pertaining to her earth element. Despite the amount of techniques she had at her disposal to learn, the sheer number her papa had left her with was sort of intimidating to her. She didn’t know how many she was suppose to learn and master before her papa got home, and due to her indecisiveness when it came to picking a technique to learn, she had only managed to learn a single earth technique since her papa’s absence.

But, today Chikara had decided that she would no longer be indecisive, she would learn every technique that the scrolls held. And instead of standing around trying to decide which would be better, she would just randomly pluck a couple scrolls before setting out for the training grounds, which was plagued heavily by a thick blanket of mist. Crimson Death just happened to be the technique that laid within the first scroll she had opened. And upon reading the instructions carefully, she set out to learn the technique.

A hand seal, identified as the Ox seal, was formed, and Chikara closed her eyes as she awaited for the technique to take effect. The scroll had been generous enough to mention that she would have to wait a bit before the technique would take effect, the blood needing to be drawn from her body, heated, and forced into a gas form. So she waited patiently, and deeming that three minutes was more than enough time for her blood to do what was required of it, she opened her eyes. The white mist was no longer within sight, it being replaced by a red mist, the product of Crimson Death. She stared in amazement, doing a full turn to witness this particular technique. It was sorta hard to see, but she had expected such a thing since it is compared to the Hidden Mist. And deeming that the technique had indeed worked the way it was suppose to, she dispelled it, the gas turning into a liquid before painting the ground red.

She wanted to celebrate her accomplishment, but there was no time for that, there were several other scrolls to read which meant several other techniques to try out. And not wanting to waste a minute, she moved towards the pile of scrolls, picking up a random one.

Chikara Shurajo

“Body Flicker,” mumbled Chikara Shurajo, eyes narrowing as if she wasn’t sure exactly what scroll she was reading. She had thought the scrolls her papa had given her contained earth techniques as well as the few Shurajo techniques he managed to get his hands on. She expected to find some taijutsu or genjutsu, heck even ijutsu, techniques sprinkled in there, but she hadn’t thought about her papa giving her a scroll on a ninjutsu technique, especially not Body Flicker. Thus, she was rightfully confused when she had plucked a scroll on Body Flicker from the pile, albeit she should had known her papa would sneak something unexpected into her lessons. She just wished that, you know, that she had seen it coming, but there really was no time to ponder over such things for there was training to do and she was losing sunlight. Or at least she felt like she was losing sunlight, it was hard to tell when one was within a heavily misty zone.

She rolled the scroll back up, gently settling it next to the Crimson Death scroll, wanting to keep the techniques she had learned and those she hadn’t separated from one another. She than stood up, stretching out her limbs before she would proceed with the task at hand. Much like the technique she had learnt earlier, Body Flicker required only one hand seal, which would be quite convenient whenever she had a limited time to react to a situation. From her understanding of the technique, it didn’t work how she thought it had worked, having bared witness to several people, including her papa, using Body Flicker for various reasons. To her, Body Flicker was teleportation, but according to the scroll it was anything but teleportation. Apparently, Body Flicker was simply a technique that temporarily vitalized the body, allowing the user to move at extreme speeds that would make the untrained eye believe they were teleporting albeit the user could only go so far.

It made Chikara sort of disappointed that the technique wasn’t what she thought it was, but she wouldn’t dwell on it for long, the technique still fairly useful from what she had witnessed. She moved a good fifteen feet from her scrolls, deciding that she would test how well it worked when utilized by herself, the scrolls being the targeted location. So, with a deep sigh, Chikara formed the ram seal. Unsurprisingly enough, she would find herself where she wanted to be, in-between the pile of scrolls. She smiled to herself, quite please with how things turned out, but than again with a simple technique there would be little reason for it not to work. Either way, she was pleased, but there was more work to do. She plopped herself onto the ground, taking up another scroll and hoping that this one was a bit more difficult than the last one. It wouldn’t do if most of her training didn’t involve any advanced techniques, it would actually turn out as a waste and she didn't want her hard work to be a waste.

Chikara Shurajo

She was exhausted, but she would not stop. She desired to go to sleep, but she would not give into her bodies demands. Every muscle in her body may scream at her within a day or two, but if she accomplished her objective, that pain will be all the more worth it. She needed to improve, she had to improved, she will improve no matter what. Not only for herself, but for those who expected her to protect them per her job. It was her duty to protect the lives of those who lived within the village, and she would fulfill this duty.

It was why she was up before the other residents of Kiri even stirred from their slumber, wanting to spend those few precious hours before the village became lively to practice her techniques in peace. Sure, there was a particular, self-made technique she wanted to learn, but that could wait until others decided to enter the training grounds which shouldn’t be for sometime. Until than, she would continue to work on techniques from scrolls her papa had provided her. Now that she thought about it, her papa had been gone for quite sometime, which did worry her though not enough to warrant her visiting the Mizukage demanding answers. Plus, she doubt the Mizukage would appreciate her showing up and disturbing his work simply because she was worried about her guardian. She needed to have faith that he would return eventually. Until than she needed to train, and Chuushaki was the perfect technique.

Chuushaki had been deemed the perfect technique simply because she had realized something recently about her reservoir. She was too defensive in terms of her techniques, which whilst good and all, but when it came down to a one-on-one fight, a completely defensive arsenal wouldn’t cut it. Sure, she can punch the living day lights out of people without much thought, she being much stronger than what appearance would suggest, having garnered her strength from time spent in hell but that sometimes that wouldn’t be an option. Thus, Chuushaki was being learned simply because she needed offensive techniques, an option for long range assault, and she needed to take advantage of the kekkei genkai she was born with.

She once again performed the hand seals for the technique, eyes staring intently at the patch of grass tainted with her blood. It wasn’t the first time, and certainly wouldn’t be the last, though she believed that if she continued to bathe the grass in her blood, that it shall one day be forever stained red. But that was of no matter at the moment, what did matter was the success of this technique. Chikara had read the mechanics of the technique from the scroll, having spent an hour just making sure she understood it thoroughly. And now she shall be trying things out.

Chikara took a deep breath, applying concentration to the task at hand. “Chuushaki,” she muttered, and right before her eyes her blood sprang to life, forming into a thin spikes. Spikes that didn’t last for long, returning to their liquid state before painting the ground once again. She smiled, very much pleased, but her work was not done. Not yet. There was still much more that needed to be done.
