Description:
This is a technique that Rias developed to counter the weakness of raiton chakra, that of fuuton. Normally, the particles that make up lightning are destabilized by the wind due to it being a great electric insulator. However, through practice, Rias can use this technique to increase the vibrational frequency of any raiton jutsu he utilizes to counter even wind style techniques. This is done by focusing on the technique in use quickening the the movement of atoms, making it sharper, to enable the jutsu to pierce wind. The technique only increases another raiton jutsu enough that it can not only withstand a wind jutsu a rank above it, but also continue through it. Basically, this technique makes a currently used raiton technique a rank higher in ability as well as more durable to fuuton jutsu.
Weakness:
This technique takes its toll as the user has to pour out more chakra than usual when utilizing this technique to increase the power of another. Making it cost the chakra amount of this jutsu plus half the cost of the rank the increased jutsu would become. Example: C-rank tech boosted to B-rank by Hum. User chakra usage is first of all the initial C-rank, then the supplementary cost is as follows Hum[C]+Half a B-rank=chakra cost overall.

Description:
The user emits a spherical pulse of lightning in every direction stemming from his body. From the enemy viewpoint would appear like a flashing sphere of electricity. This technique repels jutsu/attacks of equal and below rank to itself as well as shocks those who come in contact with it. The emission of the sphere is rather quick and is usually used in close ranged battles in order to create distance.
Weakness:
The technique is fast to appear and disappear, and is not suited to repel continuous attacks unless repeatedly used over and over which would be a drain on the user’s chakra reserves.

Description:
A more offensive and destructive form of Hachidori, whose only use was that of an increase in speed. Hachidori Dasshu is a higher increase in speed as well as piercing ability, not strength. The cutting power of this technique is capable of cutting cleanly through any weapon and jutsu that is below its rank. Unlike it’s predecessor, this technique involves the user becoming more like lightning [not completely] themselves as the body glows and cackles like lightning along with the electric aura. The high cutting ability is applied to the user’s entire body, making every part a weapon.
Weakness:
This technique is rather unpracticed and immature, thus is seen as a last line of defense. The reason is due to the many holes and costs of the technique. Firstly, due to his body being attributed lightning like features the damage to his body increases the longer he is in the state. Like causing his body to almost lose it’s form due to the unstable particles of lightning since lightning itself has no definite shape, and riddling his body with varying degrees of electrical burns after use. Thus depending on the user’s rank or experience with the technique a limit is set for the time he can use the technique; three posts at genin, five at chunin, and seven at jounin. Now these are not set amounts, they are just the safe time periods where going past them will result in the backlash stated earlier, depending on the number of posts beyond the limit. Though there is even a limit beyond that, as the technique will dissipate once the user’s chakra drops below fifteen percent.

Description:
Created by Rias to increase his speed even further through practicing his own raiton techniques and incorporating body flicker. This technique increases the user’s speed dramatically for a brief time, allowing them to cover distances quite quickly. When moving high level speeds the user takes on the appearance of a streak of lightning, granting him the speed of a taijutsu master. In this state, the lightning also takes on a defensive trait as well, thanks to the speed of movement and lightning’s natural attributes attacks on the user that are equal and below the rank of this technique are of no effect. Save for an equal rank fuuton technique seeing as that is the natural weakness of all raiton jutsu.
Weakness:
As for movement, when doing so the user becomes a streak of lightning therefore he isn’t capable of sharp turns and in some cases must come to a stop, then change directions. An alternative is for the user to ricochet off of an obstacle in his path in order to change trajectory. The user is also incapable of attacking during the transition from point A to point B. Same rule as body flicker: Cannot attack immediately afterwards.
