Appearance:
Length: 1 1/4 foot long channels of the Maras wooden form. Filled int around by wooden shavings mixed with a gelatinous pulp of wood shavings, mud and powder that helps keep this mushy interior that is enclosed by the long interlocking wooden system that snaps about into place as it is posed by its wooden exterior which appears as whole when chained together tightly giving it a rattle snakes like sound when it is whipped about back and forth with strenuously labor-some tugs. This long intricate body is then fitted with a 1 1/2 foot long leathery tail that narrows out to a barbed end resembling that of a real rattle stick but with daggers woven into it, providing itself with a bludgeoning and slicing manner to attack against unarmored and armored assailants. The head is mounted and stained with the various woods that make it is outfitted with a long chain like tongue which has strapped to it to inner tankards of a highly odious gas that can cause cause wretched stank that can carry 15 meters about the impacted area. 6 feet of it is dedicated to the head while 2 feet are for the tail and the remaining 2 feet for the head. The underbelly of the serpent primarily contains oak wood that helps give off it’s light underbelly, layered heavily with a cherry wood that is quite durable mid section of it. Atop it all is the pine wood that is highly malleable offering a comfortable seat to the user/rider of it.
Weight: Massing out as a total of 245 lb, the calculations for the respective materials in the puppet are as followed. 55% wood, 35% steal, 6% rubber and 4% snake hide. Each of these play an essential role as a large portion of the wood was used for the outer layer plated with metal sheets for some fireproofing as well as the chains that connect the links of it’s body. Most of the steal is used for weaponry that are based around ideas which that of a real serpent would use like metal tipped spikes for ensnaring and grinding it up it’s prey within it’s spiky coil. However, as this was a training puppet it is relatively harmless meant for blocking and guarding against techniques. Weapons as a whole probably consist of 20% of it’s overall body mass if you include the whip like tongue, tail and spikes which have no issues in revealing themselves as potential threats to their opponents.
History:The construction of this hardened serpent was a combined effort for Talim’s sixteenth birthday. Named in honor of the man’s daughter who was suppose to be co-puppeteer with Talim. Mara and Talim were quite the pair, although they weren’t blood related people often thought by the way they finished one another sentences. They enjoyed one another’s company for many years as childhood friends which sadly brought their plans as a two manned puppet to and end. Originally, They planned to name the puppet Talimara, a conjoined version of both their names. Kara and Talim’s dad worked numerous days understanding how important this was, Mara’s father putting a bit more work treating Talim like his daughter if she had still lived. The child spent her own time as well working along side the two adults who had drawn out and designed the ideal moving mechanisms of the snake. The various bits and pieces of it all manipulated by hooked rings around the serpents spikes.
Mara, the serpent puppet was a combined effort between a few of her father friends and himself in constructing this winding wooden snake preparation of Talim's coming of age birthday. Talim’s father, her old sparring teacher Kara, and herself all spent the better part of a month designing and constructing this creature Her father was the designer of the intricate moving pieces that help bring life was by far the toughest portion of this puppet. After coming up with a strong enough material, a fabric which her mother ended up coiling to act as the basis of Mara's vertebra for the hinged portions to pull on allowing them just enough slack for the slits that her father created which could lock the portions of the body in place. As it got larger neared the ending stages they would test the moving parts, as well as giving Talim manners of upgrading it as she got better. It started off rather dull and blunt to prevent her from skewering herself while mastering the technique of it's movement. The topaz eyes were found by Kara imagining that they would be the perfect color to strike fear into her enemies. The wood was collected outside the village as well as bought from traveling merchants.

Weapon Name: Nauseating Gas

Description: This is a special concoction developed and implemented by Talim herself, using rotten food, skunk permeated clothing all mixed with animal feces to give out an unbearable odor. Wadded up in a sewn bag, she whips about the head of Mara and pulling a strand that is attached to her pinkie finger for release of this odious attack. No bodily harm, but this does tend to get people to keep an arm or hand occupied for covering their nostrils limiting their attack options. About four of these bombs can fit in it's mouth behind a air tight compartment. Those with masks and scarfs can’t easily blurt out the scent.

Description:Coated with a variety and herbs, spices the tail like whip upon the end of Mara, is laced with itching powders and herbs. Once again like the Nauseating gas, this does not cause physical harm but does cause major irritations even to the most resilient of men. The tips of the spikes and daggers are laced with this itching powder. Contact with it can cause the spread, although directly being inserted to the blood stream causes the reaction to be worse. Six barbed spikes and knifes inside the tail.

Description: This mechanism has been implemented down the vertebra of the cobra, connected to every other spike allowing a retracting spike upon cabel's to launch off embedding,entangling or possibly piercing. With the use of 10 chakra with an upkeep of 5 the user can angle them toward intended targets. Each of these reach 2 meter away from Mara used more for removing pests from the puppet and holder as appose for attacks. 7 spikes total launching out from it's back.

Description: Mara’s fill upon it’s neck are coated with reptilian skin and high quality rubber meant for absorbing concussive, incendiary, and noxious gas attacks. capable of filtering out a large portion of oxygen if clamped down to the ground with the spikes about it’s rim. (Only capable of preventing D-Rank abilities under these jurisdictions.)
