Name: Amikiri Ken – Amikiri* Blades
Type: Arm Blades
Appearance:
Rank: A
Special Abilities: These blades are usually hidden within a mechanism that can be worn around the lower arms and can be hidden beneath sleaves. A flick of the wrists can reveal the blades. They are made of chakra-conducting metals. Elemental chakra can be channeled through them to increase their sharpness and give them an elemental advantage. For example, lightning-release chakra will allow the blades to cut through earth-release defenses such as Earth Spear.
Origin: Legend has it that these blades have been in the hands of Kodama's family for generations. They are an heirloom obtained by Nebachi Hyouka, Kodama's great grandmother. Hyouka, a powerful kunoichi, apparently stole them from a powerful water spirit that kept wrecking havoc in the northern sees, destroying fishing boats and eating its fishermen alive. One day, Hyouka ventured out into the sea on a fishing boat. As she sailed further away from the mainland, she could feel her boat being taken over by a powerful stream. The stream sucked the boat into a large whirlpool. Hyouka abandoned the ship, but not before leaving a bundle of explosive tags inside it. She watched the boat vanish beneath the water. Seconds later, a huge blast stirred up waves enormous waves. Hyouka could only remain standing due to the chakra underneath her soles.
The sound of the waves was soon overpowered by an angry roar, and a vaguely humanoid creature covered in tangles of seaweed emerged from the depths of the lake, glowing eyes glaring angrily at Hyouka. In its slimy hands were a pair of short blades covered in a layer of chakra. It charged at Hyouka, and the two clashed. The battle was long and cumbersome, but eventually Hyouka managed to slay the creature, taking the swords as her trophy. They have been passed down to her next of kin ever since, until finally arriving in the possession of Nebachi Kodama, given to him by his parents to celebrate being promoted to Jounin.
Materials used: Chakra-conducting metal, first-rate steel, leather straps
Total Price: $7500
* The Amikiri is a Japanese mythological creature. It is a spirit resembling a lobster that is known to cut up fishing nets. The name literally means "Net-Cutter."
