To preface this: I sent this to Sato in a PM and he liked the idea. He asked me to post this in a thread so everyone could discuss it.

Okay, so here's what we know about the Mangekyo Sharingan and the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan respectivly.

What we know about the initial activation of the Mangekyo Sharingan: It's activated the same way as the Sharingan, by great grief or sadness. Typically, this is triggered by the loss of a loved one, though this doesn't always have to be the case, nor do you have to kill them (as shown by when Obito unlocked MS when he saw Rin die). You also, on the sites rules, have to have 3 Tomoe to unlock MS.

What we know about MS: We know that as the user continues to use the Mangekyo Sharingan, the eye begins to deteriorate. The user begins to feel pain as their powers grow, eventually causing them to go blind.

We know that when Sasuke fought Kakashi shortly after killing Danzo, he used his Susano'o and had a pain in his head. His Sharingan deactivated and his vision was shown to be nearly gone.

We know that when Itachi fought Sasuke, his vision was also nearly gone, as shown by several "First person" point of views from Itachi's perspective.

Now, we know that when a Mangekyo Sharingan is
TRANSPLANTED into another person who also had Mangekyo Sharingan, their eyes "attain new light that never fades." Now we know that a transplant is the removal of an old, damaged organ and replacing it with a new one. This is NOT a fusion of the two pairs of eyes. My theory is that this happens because the new chakra of the new owners reinvigorates the eyes, bringing them back to "full health" as it were, and preventing them from deteriorating again.

Now, to counter EMS and all the worries about it, our limit for Uchiha is five. And EMS is not any more powerful than MS. It only prevents fading. It does not eliminate the pain a user feels when using MS techniques, nor does it reduce chakra cost or anything like that. And once more, we know that you need the eyes of a close blood relative (sibling/parent) in order to attain EMS. So, if your character does not have a sibling or a parent they can get MS eyes from, you have no way of obtaining EMS.

This means, at most, due to the limit, only four characters could run around with EMS at any given time. One would be stuck with regular MS until another was killed and a relative was made.

You also have to remember: The chances of even living long enough to obtain EMS is low. The Uchiha are constantly hunted for their eyes, and by the time you've gotten MS, you wouldn't be a Genin anymore, most likely.

Personally, I feel that if you live long enough for you and a sibling to obtain MS legitimatly, you should be allowed to trade your eyes. To make up for gaining such power though, there should be a "healing" period after the surgery, maybe 2-3 days OOC, where your character can't see and is vulnerable to enemy attack, due to the eyes still adjusting to the body. Though, you could have an NPC or PC guard, if you have friends in your village.

This sounds fair but the 2-3 days is iffy considering the fact that the people with MS will likely be strong ninja needed to defend the village from invasion. Someone could metagame and "coincidentally" attack. It honestly seems more reasonable to do a WC recovery rather than being out of commission for that long.

tl;dr.

I think the 2-3 Days OOC is fine . . . Besides, if you don't want someone to know that your obtaining something then shy away from putting it in the Title of the Topic or don't talk about OOC Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan Discussion topic 654782120

3 days is still a long ass time to be unable to post due to the fact that you can't defend yourself

The Price of Power really, Sasuke was gone for a while during his recovery period . . .

But on this forum we don't use real time recovery because it hinders development. A WC fits much better

Hmm, explain to me what happened to Sasuke' eyes? Or Madara's eyes? When Ems is created the sharingan takes on a brand new form [It is in fact stronger than the basic MS shown when sasuke instantly wields a brand new Susanoo and fuses Blaze release with it without any pain or weakness in the eye]. When the wielder gains EMS the patterns within the eye changes to a fusion of the seperate MS eyes. Sasuke being a fusion of Itachi and his own while Madaras was a combination of his brothers and his own, It seems much more like a fusion than a transplant due to the fusion of the MS parts. Not to mention it's shown that transplanted eye's retain the chakra from the original wielder [Danzo's main eye was shown to still hold Shishui's chakra]. So i find the part that allows them to "trade" eyes stupid otherwise Madara whom loved his brother and knew about EMS would have just traded eyes with him so that they both gained new power.

The only reason Izuna and Itachi did not simply trade eyes with their siblings is because it was already too late for them. Each of them were already dying. With Sasukes surgery, it is explained that his eyes were taken out and Itachis were put in, nothing about fusing. The chakra patterns combine simply due to the fact that you're placing your own chakra pattern into an eye with an already existent chakra pattern. The only requirement for EMS is to have someone transplant an Uchiha "close of blood" into your head. As for being stronger its not. He was always able to use Blaze release on Susano'o but exerting himself that much with just MS would deteriorate his vision rapidly.

There's also the fact that Itachi was already dead when Sasuke unlocked MS. (As in him dying is what got Sasuke to unlock MS). Izuna had already been fataly injured when Madara got EMS from Izuna's eyes.

Actually its shown and stated that Eternam Mangeykio is stronger, Sasuke was incapable of summoning a full susanoo until he had EMS. as soon as his eyes were ready to work he himself stated feeling much stronger. He was then capable of using blaze release without any fatigue and manipulating it far easyer than he could previously. Eternal Mangeykio allows a whole new lease of power. Which possibly comes from the fact the eyes have another chakra source within them.

That's possible, but I feel if we're going to make EMS fair on the site, then it should only stop your eyes from going blind. Maybe it could reduce/eliminate the pain one feels when using MS techniques, or reduce chakra cost of certain techs, but we need to find a way to balance it, considering the Sharingan is already more expensive than other Dojutsu on the site.

IGH!
