Yamabushi remembered that the room had began shaking just as the lever locked in place in the right position. That was when the rumbling began. The walls of the room were the first to begin but it didn't take long for the rumbling to evolve into the entire room shaking violently. It was as if an entire herd of elephants was stampeding through. That wasn't what had caused the worst of the fear. It was when the floor began dropping away into nothingness. That was when Yamabushi began to be afraid. The fear only grew as the floor suddenly dropped out from beneath him, making him fall into the darkness below. He watched the light fade away until a falling rock cause him to start spinning out of control. That was when he felt an intense pain in his left eye. It was as if someone was sticking a needle into his eye slowly and repeatedly. Then he felt the wind rush past his face and he was free-falling through the darkness. All he could hear was the sound of the wind rushing by his ears and the sound of someone screaming. He couldn't tell if it was in delight or in intense fear. He could never tell those two screams apart.
Eventually Yamabushi was able to right himself just in time to see the chakra flow in his cousin. Had he finally activated his sharingan? Had he actually managed to achieve something that he had hoped to achieve his entire life only to die immediately afterwards? That's when he heard the water. It was the sound of rushing water combined with the sound of water lapping against stone but it was enough to give him hope. Yamabushi was able to straighten himself into a board just in time for his feet to breach the water. And then he sank deep into the water, with rocks falling in around him. He stayed under water long enough to swim out of the way of the falling rocks only to be pulled out of the water by an Unknown Kumogakure jounin.
