Looks Description:

Perhaps the most noticeable feature of Shiro's appearance is his hair, not so much his slender appearance or common attire, but his long, orange hair. Smooth and straight, it hangs down past his shoulders and rests at the bottom line of his shoulder-blades. Tapered down to a point, it hangs loosely and freely, appearing like a fire dancing around Shiro's body. Many have joked of its feminine qualities, but Shiro pays no mind to the shenanigans of the other ninja he works with.

Despite being somewhat slim compared to most males, Shiro still packs a punch in close combat and has some muscle tone under his genin-chunin hybrid outfit. Like a common shinobi of Kirigakure, Shiro wears a thin, long-sleeved, dark navy shirt under a basic flak jacket. His slacks match the same, and a pair of blue sandals decorate his feet. Shiro's tool pouch sits comfortably on his right thigh, granting his main hand access to his tools.

Although they go unnoticed, Shiro also carries a few other accessories. A secondary pouch is located on his left thigh which often contains a small amount of rations, a small pipe, a box of matches, and some substance or another to smoke. Next to his secondary pouch Shiro also carries a bota bag, usually filled with water or whiskey.



Personality Description:

Shiro is a fairly mellow individual, never appearing to care too much or too little about any one thing. Offending him is usually impossible and he's always capable of taking a step back and observing any situation from multiple points of view without it affecting his emotions. Some have noted that his work ethic is also very strong despite his general attitue, which tends to give him the appearance of a slacker.

Excited by good food and friendly company more than anything else, he can be a fun one to bring along to the party. While not always intelligible, his ramblings and jokes bring life to many serious situations. It's part of what made it easy for Shiro to become a ninja and join Kirigakure's patrol teams. The many situations that he finds himself in when it comes to eliminating petty criminals can be downright hilarious, especially when people attempt all kinds of crazy things.

Thanks to his strong work ethic, Shiro managed to become more than just a common stoner. His intelligence is fairly high, as attributed by his marks, and his ability to think on his feet is stronger than his tutors had expected it to be. All things considered, Shiro rounded out to be a somewhat above-average genin.

History:

Shiro, like many of Kirigakure's ninja, was born to a rather simple family. His father did part time work for the government and thus had an influence on his decision to join the academy, but it was mainly a means of keeping Shiro occupied and allowing him to have a means of making friends. Shiro's mother passed away when he was in his early teens, coincidentally the same time Shiro started smoking.

His father believed it was his way of dealing with the pain, but it quickly developed into a lasting habit that didn't really affect Shiro's life. In fact, it probably improved his skills more than anything else. As time passed on, Shiro's father finally retired from his work and now lives modestly on the outskirts of Kirigakure. Often visited by his son, Shiro enjoys visiting what little family he has when he isn't on missions or with friends.

Now Shiro lives closer to the heart of Kirigakure, but he often bounces between his own home and Ko's. The two became close friends after they left the academy, and endured a few hardships together, namely the loss of Shiro's mother. Now they work as a team and plan to raise higher in the ranks, as difficult as it will be.

Looks Description:

Ko is a somewhat tomboy-ish girl, most noticeably from her choice of attire and sometimes lazy attempt at style. Never caring to keep up with trends or fashion, she commonly keeps her hair in a ponytail. Black and shoulder-length, it hangs loosely and easily. Never too much work, all she has to do is wash it. Most importantly, not long enough to be a serious battle hazard. If not in a simple ponytail, her hair hangs loosely.

Most often Ko dresses in warm clothing, with the most noticeable part of her attire being a bomber-like jacket. Gray and made of a strong wool, it keeps her warm through much of Kirigakure's cold and misty weather. Underneath is generally a plain shirt, either white or black and short-sleeved. She usually wears gray or black sweatpants and finishes everything off with a pair of black socks and black sandals. Those who keep up with fashion would probably call her outfit dull, but Ko doesn't care.

Her tool pouch rests just on her right buttock, almost on her lower back. It is held on by a strap, looped around the sweatpants and held in place. It has an extra compartment within that usually holds a bottle of water and some rations for longer missions or emergencies. In addition, Ko usually has a small towel hanging around her neck and her Kirigakure headband is around her forehead.



Personality Description:

Ko can be rough and outgoing on the outside when she's around crowds or friends, but she's usually fairly introspective when alone. Enjoying more exotic treats such as darker chocolates and classical music makes her feel unique, and usually people don't get to see the inside of her personality. Appearing like a tomboy is her way of warding others away, only allowing the people who really like her to remain close.

It's one thing to be friends with someone because they're pretty or you want to belong to a clique, but Ko wants to have friends that will stick around until the end. In order to do that, you've got to shed your vanity and find the people that will still give you their attention and love regardless of the situation. In that sense, Ko is fiercely loyal to the people she befriends, and even more so to the people who return those feelings.

A tough girl who doesn't back down, but just smart enough to know when the challenge is too much. She sometimes enjoys being the center of attention, but also likes to learn from the people around her and make changes to herself. Part of growing up is defining who you are, and Ko's still in that process, shaping herself into the strong person she's imagined herself to be.

History:

Ko grew up with a family that opposed the ninja system for most of her life. They weren't so much the type who wanted to stir trouble in the government, but they believed that all the war and the trickery was far too dangerous to dabble in. The kind of people that want to be 'off the grid', and all other sorts of crazy things. Their attitude was the spark that made Ko the indifferent girl she was. Never a princess, never running to mommy or daddy when an issue arose.

She'd crush the spider, and then laugh at the boy who pissed himself when it landed on his shoulder. It was her way of finding the people who were really strong, and deep down, a way of identifying herself. The more her parents tried to keep her away from a life of adventure and strength, the more she wanted to push them away and go running for the academy. It wasn't long before just that happened. The event severed Ko from her family, as the instructors at the school took care of her until she graduated.

It wasn't until her successes were known throughout the area that her parents finally acknowledged her again. They were proud, but still uncomfortable. Still, it was enough to know she was accepted by her family again. But Ko wasn't going home, she had found a friend to motivate and fight against. Shiro's hardships were at their hardest, and Ko was determined to keep him out of the funk of despair. So she remained separated from her family, only in presence.

Looking back on it, she could even say that her parent's devotion to their beliefs also made her respect them a little more. Not simply dropping their opinions because their daughter ran off to be a ninja, simply slowly changing how they thought about it when showed that it wasn't as bad as they wanted it to be.
