Looks Description: There have been many mysteries and rumors which had shrouded the young enigmatic man long before his appearance within the shinobi world, the few whom have had the chance of meeting him face to face are often found perplexed by his physical appearance; without a doubt expecting the boy known as Kiryuu to be much more menacing judging from the tales that they have heard. One of the numerous myths, was that he were some sort of monstrous behemoth that towered over everyone at ten feet; a rather extravagant rumor though that is not completely groundless. He is often considered by many to be a giant among men, standing at an absurd height of 6'7", roughly the length of two meters; that is, if he were standing up straight instead of slouching down as per the norm. He bears a larger-than-average body frame which generated numerous rumors, where people imagined that each and every step he took shook the very earth itself as he must weigh a ton. However, he does not even weigh near a ton, albeit he does carry around an enormous amount nonetheless; maxing out at about 194 pounds, in other words just about 88 kilograms. He holds an impressive physical build which derived from his past as a delinquent whom brawled daily whilst learning various martial arts; readying his transcendence as a taijutsu orientated shinobi.
Regardless of bearing an impressive physique, especially for one of his age, he refrains from flaunting his muscular build whenever in public; as his body is riddled with an abundance of scar tissue from his past reckless behavior of brawling. The sole scar which was not the result of a fight of epic proportions, cuts through across his torso; which was the inevitable result of a heart transplant. Due to cardiovascular issues emerging after the transplant, he is prone of receiving chest pains throughout the day which renders him helpless during such episodes; these heart episodes especially manifests whenever stressed. Nitroglycerin pills are taken daily in order to prevent the attacks from becoming serious enough to be hospitalized. Another effect from the arisen cardiovascular problems is dampened blood flow which grants the young man a seemingly permanent pale complexion, in addition to his feeble circulatory system, his body temperature is lowered to a significant effect which renders most whom touch his bare skin to exclaim how his skin feels as if it were made out of ice; of which he finds to be rather poetic due to his alleged cold-hearted nature.
Untamed by the brush, his short sanguine colored hair runs rampant atop and thus bolsters a wild style consisting of spikes protruding in an outward fashion; many find themselves in shock when having discovered that the red-hue is completely natural. Due to the nature of his past, his scowling-like facial expression appears much more worn than that of an average teenager; hence explaining the light creases found underneath his small, squinted, golden colored eyes of which gives him a permanent glare. With all of these characteristics, many are incapable of fathoming him to be as young as he is, and thus easily mistake him for an adult. As he is often branded as a ruffian due to either physical appearance, he had eventually caved to the label and thus had been influenced by society's views to boast a vast array of piercings; silver loops intertwining throughout the outer edges of his left ear, and in addition to the aforementioned, iron beads may also be found rolling up midway across his tongue. He had subconsciously conformed of gaining a smoking habit and thus may be commonly seen with smoke closely trailing behind; though he supposedly smokes in order to reduce stress rather than being an addiction. Whilst he retains no set of prints upon his wound-ridden skin, he is lured by the idea of having them camouflage the repulsive defects found throughout his body.
The attire which the crimson beast commonly dons during his ventures outside of home, despite having his movements somewhat restricted, consists of a crumpled white colored short-sleeved shirt; of which said V-neck shirt is incapable of fully containing his physical prowess. An overlaying black leather fur collared jacket is often worn atop of the shirt; unzipped and unbuttoned during the spring and summer, and closed off completely during the frost-ridden seasons. Its fuzzy pockets often hold numerous important items, such as: his wallet, nitroglycerin pills, lighter, pack of cigarettes, sunglasses. His navy-blue denim jeans are held tightly to his waist through the use of a simple brown leather belt, in addition to the belt, a silver chain is attached from the belt to the back pocket on his left side; as if to complete the rest of the outfit, he sports plain black socks along with black shoes. He is wrapped in various accessories of silver qualities, a singular bangle split into three is worn upon his left hand, a ring upon his right index finger, along with a star shaped pendant held together by rope. The hitai-ate, the proof of his ascendance into the ranks of shinobi, is worn securely upon his neck; which he finds poetic, as he is no longer more than a dog of the village.
Personality Description: Upon first impressions, he is often portrayed as an aloof and cold-hearted individual; whose relaxed and silent demeanor instills a sense of discomfort amongst others. Caution is to be exercised whenever dealing with the alleged ruffian, as he is often depicted as a fearless, heartless, and ruthless being whom does not know the meaning of prudence. His stoic expression does not waver despite the presented situation; easily disregarding the brandishing of a knife, or the threat of an ensemble of questionable gentlemen. The dearly departed, whether family or not, holds no apparent sway over the emotional state of the vermilion giant and thus resulted his alienation from his relatives. The truth lies deep within the vessel known as Kiryuu and so remains hidden from the prying eyes of others, and as such many remain unaware of his struggles of revealing his true self; which naturally hampers his ability to befriend others. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the village he resides within, the behemoth's actions are far from erratic though perhaps more appropriately described as incomprehensible; such as how he would brutally retaliate against any injustice done to either himself or another for the most arbitrary reason. Regardless whether the individual whom had committed the offense be a child or an elder, such a shield will not last against the goliath's onslaught nor the mere mention of the word 'sorry' will be one's saving grace; as his cynicism would not allow him to take such words seriously. It is assured that a pittance of time is more than useless, as his powerful memory will refrain from forgetting such things. Proper amends must be made in order to earn his forgiveness, and even then his perception of the offender would forever be lit under a negative light.
Is the glass half full, or half empty? A timeless question which served to assess whether one is of an optimistic or pessimistic nature, to which the red-haired punk falls unto the latter category. He is often left bewildered whenever having spoken to an optimist, being subjugated to their unrealistic ideals or their false sense of security easily tumbles him unto the path of annoyance or of frustration. However, as much as he scorns optimists for their peculiar perception, he clings unto a small shred of hope of seeing the world as they do; that there is some magical quality which lies beyond the reach of pessimists such as himself. An empty lingering void in which he struggles to fill accompanies the teenager through his daily life, and thus effectively bestowing the brute an apathetic demeanor or an otherwise depressed expression; furthermore granting a monotonous voice devoid of any joy. A sense of cynicism is heavily integrated within his manner of speech and overall thought process; of which he is unrepentant with flaunting such cynicism whenever in public, which naturally affects his relationship with others. He had his share of disappointments in others throughout his experiences in the past, and thus desires to avoid experiencing disappointments and heartbreak once more. He places a heavy emphasis on keeping his emotional attachments to others minimal and thus will often purposefully try to get others to dislike him; an effective method in shielding himself from further pain. Due to his cynical persona, he is incapable of viewing acts of kindness for what they are and will conclude that there are hidden motives behind them; hence kindness is the quickest method in getting him to dislike another person, regardless whether alleged kindness is genuine or not.
Whether through words or via actions, he displays an immense amount of self-assurance within his capabilities as an individual; though said confidence directly stems from his mistrust within the ability of others. Such mistrust further expands the distance between himself and the rest of humanity, rendering him further ensnared by the chains of loneliness. His arrogant and egotistic proclamations are but a veil cast upon himself in order to conceal the weak mellow side of himself; all in an effort of protecting himself from the harsh cruelties of human nature. A conflictive maelstrom of self-worth and of doubt turmoils within that borrowed heart, often prompting him to question the meaning behind his existence and of life itself. A complicated past and the shallow eyes of civilization birthed doubt, labeling and troubling the titan as a delinquent; nothing more than the lowest of trash within society. In order to suppress the surge of self-deprecation or otherwise obsessive thoughts from overwhelming his sanity, he aims to concentrate on a task: training; it instills a sense of solace within the otherwise disturbed young man. "Tell a genius that he is an idiot long enough... and he will come to believe it to be so", a quote which best represents himself; morphed and melded by society. Hence his dishonest nature whenever dealing with matters which concerns himself; often leading him to deny his desires and thus significantly dampen his impulsiveness. Due to his abnormal sense of honor, he is incapable of breaking a promise.
- FEARS:
Hypnophobia; the fear of sleep. The crimson beast exhibits an irrational fear of falling into a state of slumber, and thus further explaining as to why he possesses the worn face that he does. Whilst the state of unconsciousness in itself instills a sense of discomfort within the young man, the true reason behind his hypnophobia stems from his chronic chain of night terrors. Due to their realism, they may temporarily grant an additional fear for an unknown period of time. The intense episodes easily cause him to be drenched in sweat whilst muttering words of cowardice or of hatred, and will often have him violently flail around in his sleep. It is a common occurrence for one of his hands to be outstretched, reaching toward the ceiling in a strangling motion right before the moment he awakens; as if to kill whatever was plaguing him. Due to the phobia, he is an insomniac and thus rarely falls asleep of his own accord.
Catapedaphobia; the fear of jumping down. The crimson beast exhibits an irrational fear of jumping down from an elevated level, the fear itself should not be confused with acrophobia; the fear of heights. He has no qualms with walking about in high altitudes nor looking down below, though is incapable of bringing himself to jump down; it does not matter whether the distance to the ground from his current position be an hundred feet or merely one foot, he will not be capable of bringing himself to jump down. There is only one situation in which he would have no issues with jumping down, and that is whenever the distance is less than one foot, seeing as then he could just as easily walk down. If he attempts to jump down, he would awkwardly move forward and then prepare to jump by lowering his body, springs himself up though stops himself short whenever he is right about to jump up. He would then proceed to get down via some other way, which is often long and arduous.
Genophobia; the fear of coitus. The crimson beast exhibits an irrational fear of engaging in intercourse, hence explaining his supposed asexuality. Unlike the colossus' other phobias, there are many reasons behind to his genophobia instead of one concrete reason. For example, he finds genitalia to be abysmally disgusting, though that may only serve as an excuse for his discomfort in having an actual relationship with another individual; laying his feelings bare is frightening in its own regard. Perhaps he holds some subconscious fear of attaining a sexually transmitted disease, or fathering a child. It may also be due to the possibility of being inadequate in the act and thus ridiculed by whomever his partner may be. Due to the nature of the phobia having turned him asexual, he is incapable of being seduced by another without first having an emotional attachment to the individual.

History: All stories begin with a tale of love, with an exquisite romance between that of a man and a woman whose passion for one another grew by surmounting the hurdles which presented themselves along the road during their pursuit of happiness. A mutual, and rather absurd, infatuation with one another occurred along their path in life, increasingly developing a sort of dependence amongst themselves; the aspect of life itself felt lost, or even meaningless, with the dreadful thought of going their separate ways. Their lives, and even their souls, became intertwined by the chains of fate through the sacred ritual of binding themselves to one another through an act of holy matrimony; she had become his, and he hers. The recently wedded couple set their sights upon an obscure island across the far reaches of Hi no Kuni, their mutual dream consisted heavily upon living free from the influence of shinobi and the political wars of the daimyō. However, the expense of freedom came at a great cost; as dwindling opportunities soon vanished upon acquiring such a freedom as they had. Whilst free from the plagues that which industrialization brought along with itself, the economy laid harsh restrictions upon the backs of the two foreigners whom grew progressively unable of appreciating the offset of industrialization; the smog-free air, the detoxified water sources, and the unsoiled beauty which nature gifted to all of mankind. Their financial situation became all-the-more complicated with the father's lack of having acquired a decent trade during his youth due to the familial circumstances he grew up alongside with; in addition to the decreasing job opportunities found within the confines of the island. Thus the father, whose status was nothing more than that of an ordinary blue collar worker, had been compelled to travel across the land, and to broaden his search horizons far and wide in the hopes for whatever opportunities to present themselves to aid in financing the upstart of his new family.
It had been an all-too natural thing for these opportunities to bequeath a certain sense of disparage amongst oneself, whose demeaning nature would inexorably humiliate those whom possess any sense of pride. However, in spite of bearing the aforementioned quality, the power of love conquered all; its influence could change the nature of a man itself in unimaginable ways. That which he originally found to be beneath of himself no longer held any sense of importance, as his happiness relied exclusively upon that of his wife, and hers relied upon that of her husband; hence their happiness never waned, no matter the obstacles that lie ahead in life as long as they had each other. Through this, the bond between that of the man and the woman grew all-the-more stronger with the passing days which ensued; never once weakening in strength through the changing colors which the seasons brought upon that island of theirs. Whilst the husband scrounged and worked rigorously to gather as much money as possible in order to support their new life together financially, the wife had taken upon herself the traditional role of the house wife; caring for their lovely, albeit small, abode upon the outskirts of the island. Whilst she possessed an ensemble of quintessential sought after idiosyncratic characteristics, her allure lied beyond that of her physical beauty or that of her unparalleled kindness; she bore a smile unlike any other woman, one which was capable of bewitching the hearts of all those exposed to it. Hence it came to no one's surprise that her husband done everything he could and more into seeing that beautiful smile of hers. However, she was a delicate lilac. Whilst she may have appeared as an ideal woman, she was an incredibly frail woman; whom was often prone to sickness, unable of exerting any actual physical strength and heavily reliant upon medication to slow her diseases from progressing to their later stages. Albeit no level of actual danger ever loomed beyond the horizon, her husband felt a twinge of pain upon seeing those miserable moments of hers; though no matter the arisen issue, he could never stop loving the woman.
Persevering through her own personal issues, she retained an enthusiastic perspective through the daily struggles of life; obtaining a sense of bliss through gardening, never having her interest wain through such a strenuous hobby. Her meticulous care yielded a spectacular sight to behold, which had naturally piqued the interest of the natives of the island; thus debuting her rise in popularity amongst them. Through establishing this connection between themselves and the natives of the island, their life became progressively easier as others would help them as a result of their friendship; often having farmers give away some of their produce, and having work for her husband. As days have come to past and the years had come and gone, the couple had adapted to their new lives together splendidly; they were far from rich, though thrilled with the way things have come to past. Hence it had been an all-too-natural thing for a question to pop-up, the question being whenever will they try to have children. Once confronted with the question, they had announced that they had succeeded and in six-months time, they would be parents. And thus, the first of four children had been born during the month of April; a beautiful baby girl. She would later become a blonde beauty whom eventually become a caregiver for young children, and had been described as the most emotional of their four children. Due to that characteristic of hers, she was prone of quickly falling in love; and with all the wrong kind of men. As a consequence of this personality trait of hers, along with a dash of naivety, she had been with child at an extreme young age of sixteen; though the father had ran away from the responsibility of fathering a child. However, she had not been shunned by her parents and instead had been met with their kindness and their help in bring about their grandchild; whom would be one year younger than Kiryuu. At another point, she had yet again met another man and had his child as well; though they grew apart from one another and thus only remain in contact with one another due to the child whom came four years afterward her first child.
It had not been until she had attained the age of thirty that she found herself a new husband, though unlike those before him, he would joined with her through holy matrimony; her fiance had been divorced and had, had a child in his previous marriage which joined into the new family. Thus they were a happy family of three; that is, until they had a child to commemorate their relationship even further... all of which were girls. The second born, whom saw the light of day one year later than the eldest of the four, was to be traditionally considered the heir to the family name. However, such a thing appeared bleak at first as he went through a multitude of phases during his youth; none of which were ever any good for either himself nor the family name. He had been prone to extreme bouts of violence against all whom impose a sense of authority, whom was likely to play around with women. He even used a vast array of drugs and drank a lot in order to drown out his thoughts. This act would continue well until the point in which one night he had drunk enough of alcohol that he had to get his stomach pump due to experiencing severe alcohol poisoning; which coincidentally enough, had occurred upon Kiryuu's first birthday. From thenceforth, he had straightened his act and made amends for all that he had done; one way or another. A byproduct of a near death experience. He would then become a carpenter, leaving his home island to search for work out west; contacting home via letters and occasionally paying a visit. It had been seven years after their eldest son, that they were yet again gifted with another miraculous son; the third of the four children. He would, as like the previous brother, become a problematic issue for the family though unlike the eldest, he would not morph his personality to become a better person.
The youngest of the three siblings had grown up as an only child within the confines of their home; seeing as the other two had departed their home in search of establishing their own respective lives. Hence explaining as to the reason as to why he had become distraught once the fourth of the four children had been born; once Kiryuu had been born. It had been then that he had started to changed for the worse. He had grown resentful that his younger brother had stolen much of the attention he had been naturally accustomed to, and thus felt progressively unimportant and even unloved; becoming all-the-more full of angst upon reaching his teenage years which reflected heavily upon his personality from then henceforth. He would become quick to anger, snapping back immediately upon any inconveniences. He would learn to loathe his family, frequently loudly exclaiming how he wished he were born into that of another one; where he dreamed that he could have been born into wealth, and did not need to be subjugated to living in such a dump. Naturally, the father, while it was not his fault, could not help but to feel as if he had failed to provide for his family. After all, he wasn't exactly proud of his various occupations. Janitorial work. A caravan driver... a multitude of jobs that anyone could do. The mother was too emotional, just incapable of disciplining her child; hence the third did as he pleased whilst the father felt bad and the mother unsure of what to do.
Seeing as the third of the four was free to do as he wished, without suffering any actual consequences from his actions; he naturally grew to become increasingly difficult. The first and second born of the family were not there in the household, they were busy living their adult lives. The father was not home often, too busy working long hours in order to keep financial stability. Hence, it was only natural that the third became the male role model in Kiryuu's world. He would make small changes as time passed by, adopting a similar hairstyle, dress similarly, and eventually learn to act the same. Anti-social, quiet, cynical, hating everyone around him... he became this way, in order to appease his older brother. Though, the opposite had occurred. The third found it annoying more than anything else, and thus treated Kiryuu all the more harshly. Kiryuu's original feelings of wanting a place in his brother's eyes, was replaced with hatred. Thus the two of them never got along together. Such social interaction with his older brother became the origin of his current persona; where he felt completely worthless, yet he wanted to prove that he was so much more. The feud between the both of them continued well until the third left the household; though Kiryuu's hatred for his older brother never ceased. No matter how much the third changed after he left. Kiryuu would never forgive him for what he had done to him over the entirety of his life.
Upon having become a teenager, alongside with his older brother having left the household; through solitude, he had been allowed to develop his own unique bland of personality rather than being but a mere copy of the third. Albeit, whilst there was a significant change within his actions and words, he had become tainted by malice and hatred and thus became the man which he is to this day. Through his pessimism and cynic outlook upon life itself, he had become progressively estranged by all those whom surround him both at home and at the academy; which only caused him to descend further into the depravity of loneliness. Hence stems the reason behind his defiant nature which rewarded him with a vast amount of troubles and bushels of bad habits. Whether it be from his menacing physical appearance, or that of his bad personality, he had been subjugated day after day of brawling with those whom either wished to prove their strength, or had any problem with him. It had been years before he had finally gotten caught with undeniable evidence, that he had been captured as a troublemaker, and sent to a youth correctional facility to be taught discipline and respect for authority. Though no matter how much he was beaten down, he had never succumbed to their ways and thus eventually marked to be banished from the village unless he should prove himself useful as a Genin.
The story turns blank here, leaving all to wonder how his tale will come to an end.
