Though with great reward, comes risk. As the Byakugan's drawback in vision comes in the terms of a blind spot located at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertebra that can lead to fatal injury. Luckily it often isn't very known by many individuals.However, the ability does not stop there with range of vision as it escalates its vision to penetrate through most solid objects and obstructions, though certain barriers may distort the Byakugan's perception. The Byakugan is also able to follow high-speed movements, which allows the user to better react to them if their body is well trained. The Byakugan is shown to also magnify in on small targets, however; arguably, its greatest ability is to see chakra, which it can do to a greater degree than the Sharingan. It can identify chakra by the specific individuals it originates from, determine when genjutsu is being used, and discern certain types of clones from the real person. Its ability to see chakra is acute enough to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that run along it. Also in theory, the Byakugan can also be used to extend the range of genjutsu.
The Hyūga have devised a style of combat known as the Gentle Fist to take advantage of this ability, wherein they strike an opponent's tenketsu to either seal or forcibly open them, thus giving the user complete control over their opponent's chakra. It is a powerful tactical option to have should one focus in on taijutsu. The affected person's chakra flow can either be increased or disrupted completely, preventing them from using techniques to where one may render other known Gentle Fist manoeuvres ineffective. It is often done by leaking chakra from the chakra openings in one's hands and moulding it into a needle-like shape to slice through the chakra, however, users can emit chakra from any tenketsu, making binding them with chakra-based substance impossible.
Because the chakra pathway system is invisible to the naked eye, the Byakugan is required for most techniques of this style. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyūga clan, it has become their signature style of combat. Description: This technique utilises the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from all the chakra points on the user's body. It is also a defensive manoeuvre to compensate for the Byakugan's blind spot as the released chakra blocks any possible attack on the user. After releasing chakra from every tenketsu in their body, the user then spins rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a rotating shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any nearby attackers with external injuries. The user can also actively control the size and power of the sphere to suit the situation. The technique is also capable of reflecting an opponent's chakra against them.

Weakness: This technique is only effective when rotating, since the chakra itself is not enough to stop a physical attack thus if they cannot spin, the user becomes vulnerable. The chakra rotation can be disrupted by chakra threads, which slows down the user, binding and tangling them in the webbing for example, and ultimately forcing them to stop. Description: With the Byakugan's near 360° field of vision, the user envisions an Eight Trigrams circle. Then the enemy within this circle is hit with a series of violent blows. By striking sixty-four of the tenketsu throughout the opponent's Chakra Pathway System, their chakra flow is stopped, making them unable to even stand.
Once someone is within range of the user's field of divination, the user assumes a Gentle Fist stance and begins to deliver the attack: - First, two consecutive strikes to make two and stuns the target for 1 post.
- Second, another two consecutive strikes to make four and stuns the target for 1 post.
- Third, four consecutive strikes to make eight and stuns the target for 1 post.
- Fourth, eight consecutive strikes to make sixteen and stuns the target for 1 post.
- Fifth, sixteen consecutive strikes to make thirty-two and stuns the target for 1 post.
- Sixth, another thirty-two consecutive strikes in succession to make a total of sixty-four strikes. The sixth consecutive attack needs a strong step forward, because without it the technique will fail.
Each set of strikes is done at an exponentially increasing pace and strength. The attack not only disables the enemy but also knocks them back with every set of strikes.

Description: This is a highly versatile technique which affords both offensive and defensive capabilities whereby the user emits a constant stream of chakra from their palms, which are formed into extremely thin, sharp, blades.
While using this technique offensively, the user shapes the chakra into thin, sharp, flexible blades allowing her to hit hundreds of targets with extreme precision and can cut smaller targets, like bees, into pieces.
When used defensively, the user creates much larger, stronger, more flexible, arc-shaped chakra blades that spread out across their entire attack range from one self, effectively forming a barricade between themselves and their opponents, rebuffing even the largest and smallest of targets.
With the addition of the Gentle Fist's flexibility, the technique creates an "absolute defence" effect similar to that of the Eight Trigrams: Palms Rotation, though the cutting nature of the chakra prevents any outside force from restricting it.

Description: This technique is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms: Palm Rotation, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, the user precisely pinpoints the enemy's vital points with the Byakugan and releases a high-speed palm thrust. A "vacuum shell" compressed using the Gentle Fist is formed to attack the opponent's vitals from a distance, blowing them off their feet with tremendous force before they even notice they were hit.

Description: The user changes the shape of chakra released from both hands into large guardian lion-shaped shrouds. Doing so greatly increases range and destructive power. The lion heads drain the chakra network of those they touch. It is an extremely difficult ability to learn, as the slightest mistake in chakra control will lead to failure, meaning it is a feat requiring the Byakugan. This technique can be used in conjunction with the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, launch the fists as a ranged attack, and cause them to explode upon close contact.

Clan History
The Hyūga Clan was once known as one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure. All members born into this clan possess the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai that gives them extended fields of vision and the ability to see through solid objects and even the chakra circulatory system, amongst other things. Members of this clan also possess the unique ability to expel chakra from any of the tenketsu in their body.
However, the story begins with The Hyūga clan as descendants from the Ōtsutsuki clan, specifically from Hamura Ōtsutsuki's lineage. As a result, they are also distant cousins of the Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, and Kaguya clans. They were to be considered to be one of the most powerful clan in Konohagakure. Their fame and prowess stretches far and wide, leading others to both praise and covet their abilities. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, a Kumo-nin noted that they had a hard time against them during a previous war.
The clan was once separated into two parts: the main house (宗家, sōke) and the branch house (分家, bunke), a system that protects the secrets of the Byakugan from outsiders. The main house runs the family while the branch house protects it. The members of the branch house are branded with a cursed seal upon the third birthday of the heir to the main house. This seal gives the main house members absolute control over the branch members, because they can destroy the branch members' brain cells with a simple hand seal, or cause them great pain to punish them. This seal also makes sure the secret of the Hyūga's Byakugan is safe, because it seals the Byakugan after the wearer of the seal dies. Because they are essentially servants, simply because of their birth order or heritage, some branch house members are hostile to those of the main house. Although this is no longer the case.
In the past, there have been several attempts on the part of Kumogakure to acquire the dōjutsu of this clan. This even culminated in the death of the would-be-thief: the Head Ninja of Kumogakure and the demands of a man named Hiashi, for his corpse who had killed him according to the stipulations in the peace treaty that the two villages had signed. Ultimately, the brother known as Hizashi, was the one who sacrificed his life for the village and clan, sealing away his Byakugan as he died and avoiding war. This event would become known as the Hyūga Affair down in the books.
Most of the practices of the clan are no longer found today, and much of its once known fame has gone down in history as time passed on into the new era. It seems nowadays most of its history on prowess has now become a recreance and often aren't very much seen as a threat.

Special Characteristics / Traits
Characteristics is manifested as the very distinctive eyes become the identity of the clan, characterised by their enlarged and featureless white irides, often a light shade of lavender, with no visible pupils. While it is difficult to pinpoint common personality traits, the use of their bloodline often reflects te idea of the Hyūga as a close-minded clan, never letting ideas or secrets out of their grasp and staying aloof from the affairs and opinions of others. It is also common that the people of this lineage often have long straight hair in various dark toned color from raven colored, purple, and brunette.
