A Spar for the Ages

Tamashi had recently been able to communicate with Shinji after their separation in Kirigakure. He had found out that his friend had made for Sunagakure and found that he was doing quite well there. The two friends had decided to meet up in a valley that was about equal distance between the two villages: Sunagakure and Kumogakure. The valley had the harsh winds that came from Sunagakure, but also the heavy set clouds from Kumogakure. It was filled with lush greenery and enclosed by a thick set of trees. Tamashi sat on a rather large rock, waiting for his friend to arrive. He was rather excited at the idea of seeing him once more.

Brushing past bushes and trees of the thicket, Shinji eagerly awaited his meeting with Tamashi. He hope ill feelings weren't harbored from him leaving without him, but that could wait. He wanted to see if the little pipsqueak had grown any. He knew he was young, but for his own sake, Shinji hoped Tamashi had crept up the scale. Finally he felt the familiar chakra signature. His heart thumped harder and so did his feet. Pressing on throughout the trees that bent from the wind, he slowed his pace as he drew near. Slowly but surely the distance between the two closed, while Shinji was ever so careful to disturb no wild life or nature. He was sure his presence was unnoticed, as he allowed the wind that bent the trees to mask his noise. Now peering down at his old friend's back who was seated on a lone boulder in a small clearing, he would form the tiger seal and emit the dense mist Tamashi was ever so accustomed to. No words, no warning, nothing, Shinji would let his actions do the talking. Just Shinji, Tamshi, their weapons, their jutsu, and this dense mist.

Tamashi did not hear Shinji approaching. He was too focused on his meditating, plus the wind kept Shinji's noise masked. However, when he sensed the mist forming and saw it once he opened his eyes, he knew it was time to begin. Tamashi stepped from the boulder, not saying a word and leaped from his spot to a few feet away so that there was some distance between the two. He turned, using his sense of hearing and smell to try and find Shinji since his sight was impaired.

Remaining in the forestry, Shinji didn't move a muscle, he was safe with this positioning, so it would be foolish to move instead of make due of this location. Three handseals were made, in a slow pace to insure silence, Ram, Snake, Tiger. Now creeping into the white thick mist, would be small black particles. Like salt and pepper mingling in a dish of food, the black oil would fester in the mist until, the  speckles would form into a black cloud over head  Barely noticeable, but what could be noted was the smell it would produce. Oil. Gooey and flammable, this would block out another one of Tamashi's senses for the area would quickly began to smell like a wretched oil depot. A thin grin hidden in mist was displayed on Shinji's face as he withdrew a single kunai, preparing himself for any unsuspecting projectiles or close combat. He was still finding refuge in his tree, but the battle seemed to be going in his favor.

Tamashi could spell the foil stink in the air. He was wondering what Shinji was up to. He could tell that his friend was slowly cutting off his senses and at the moment he only had one that really counted: his hearing. Using the clone seal, Tamashi created a shadow clone as quietly as he could so that Shinji would not know. He then had the clone begin to scout about stealthily to try and find Shinji as best as he could. Should the clone find him, he would grab Shinji and hold onto him so that Tamashi could use his next jutsu.

A clone? Shinji being a sensory ninja instantly noticed the new chakra signature present itself. Tamashi was back at his old tricks it seemed. Still not able to discern between original and the clone, Shinji still had a hunch Tamashi was not the one searching for him. Why would he put himself in danger, while the clone was expendable? Come on Tamashi Shinji mentally chimed, a bit disappointed in his companions choice of action. But being a ninja, it was his job to take advantage of these opportunities. Kunai still in hand, he had the gist of his surroundings pictured in his head and knew he was facing the clearing.

He then tossed the kunai forward at a decent speed, to make noise simulating movement and it would eventually hit a tree. Hopefully the clone would be distracted or go to investigate, due to the clone or Tamashi having no prior knowledge to where Shinji started his antics from. But if that small disturbance wasn't enough, the line of translucent steel ninja wire would help. Snagging on the wire, would dislodge the kunai from the tree and make it swing down further, rustling more leaves causing more noise. Said noise would be created at Shinji's twelve o'clock, but unless the hardly noticeable ninja wire was seen, nothing would reveal were the puppet master was pulling the strings from. And if the clone did see the wire, Shinji wouldn't mind the wire being traced, for a kunai holding the wires' end would be at Shinji's previous location and had been silently jammed into a tree moistened by the mist, permitting silent entry.

Shinji would now be about 5-7m east of that location about 7-10m high in a tree, via Body Flicker so his travelling would make no noise and he would find himself again on the ring of the clearing, only a few light branches away from being out in the open. Having no need to make a visible opening to use his eyes to see Tamashi, who had not moved since he leap off the boulder and shuffled a few feet away, Shinji would release his control on the floating oil cloud making it turn into its normal sticky liquid state, that was hidden behind the dense white mist, onto Tamashi. Then using the noise of the oil splattering onto the ground to again to slyly hide his noise pollution of poking a single hand through a trees leaves, which could be mistaken for wind, Shinji would flick a single fire cracker with his middle finger, at the boulder that was only a few feet away and previously mentioned.

At a high speed and hidden in the mist, the white wrapped flint and gunpowder would collide with the rock, producing a small pop and a spark. The pop would more than likely be unnoticed, from the commotion the oil would be causing Tamashi and the spark would be hidden in the moist mist. But the wind would also feed the spark and allow it to live long enough to fulfill its destiny.  Dancing freely in the mist, the spark would easily locate the 15m oil spill centered around and on Tamashi. Ultimately instantly engulfing the 15m oil spill in flames, along with the boy, who wouldn't suspect a thing. His clone would be on a wild goose hunt investigating suspicious noise that was made by a kunai and ninja wire. And after finding the ninja wire, would more than likely eagerly follow the line to find a kunai stuck in a tree, but this would be long after the sticky oil was dumped on Tamashi, almost completely binding him, not to mention the noxious odor from the black gunk that would flood his brain. Then the gunk would erupt into flames, incinerating the body the oil latched onto. The oil of course would be nearly impossible to remove, due to it's clinging properties and the fact that his own body was on fire. The area would then find itself infested with the smell of cooked flesh, hair, and clothing. Not a pretty sight, especially for Shinji, who thought throwing a firecracker in a battle would be funny. He would then peer out from the forestry to see a roar of flames and possibly a young child's frame being burned down to the bone.

The clone changed his direction when he heard the kunai thunk in the tree nearby.  Tamashi's hearing was greater than normal due to that being his only sense really working.  He felt it odd that a random kunai would land in a tree a few feet away.  Why not use this chance to attack me?  This has to be a trick, Tamashi thought rather soundly.  Tamashi's didn't even bother with the kunai when it was recalled back by what apparently had to be wire. The smell of oil was getting stronger and Tamashi knew that Shinji was going to do something with it. He must have some way to ignite this oil. I can't see anything cause of this darn mist. I need to get out of here.  The clone used the Wood Style: Threefolded Wood Shield.  A shield made of 3 pieces of circular wood that was layered slightly atop each other formed which the clone threw to Tamashi since they knew where the other was at.  Tamashi caught the shield and kept it ready.

When Tamashi felt the drops of oil rain beginning to pour down, he immediately realized that the oil was coming from above. Using the shield as an umbrella, he held it over his head to give himself some sort of protection from the oil. When flames suddenly sprouted from afar, an idea formed in Tamashi's mind.  He allowed the shield to catch afire since it already was covered in oil and used the flaming shield as a flashlight so that he could see in the dense mist.  "Nice try Shinji," Tamashi taunted.

OOC Lmao I'm not making another post, because you are dead. Your personality description says nothing about or mentions this tendency to be precautious. The oil didn't rain on you, it dropped like literally dropped into a 15m spread around you. You have no way of seeing this oil approaching, until it is basically already on your body, from the mist. The oils scent will increase slightly as it draws near, but it would fall from its height and reach the ground in 2-3 seconds I believe. And because you do not possess Sensory skills, your sense of smell is not heightened or elite or anything. I can explain other reasons further after work, but as far as I'm concerned, Hit Claimed your dead.

Talked to some people and the possible outcome is that we both died in the fire. So yah cool spar, what I learned is to be hella descriptive with posting. I don't know what you got from this but yeah. That's for the match

Lol its all good. I have a lot of learning and training to do to get better rp wise else I'm gonna get my but kicked in the exams. Also, your mist and oil combo is killer. Just the mist alone is hard to deal with.

Your wood is to physical in my honest opinion. You aren't versatile enough, because fire release can easily take out your wood. I will PM you some tips later on and maybe we can exchange ideas, to help each other
