The air in Kirigakure was still as the sun peeked in through the mist that blanketed the village. Signs that were recently put up in the previous Mizukage’s madness were being taken down and disassembled. Whispers and rumors spread throughout the village streets. The village had been in a state of worry for some time. The previous Mizukage had become odd with time, and everyone had soon realized that madness was gripping his mind. However, as mad as the man may have been, he was still strong enough to claim the title of Mizukage. It wasn’t until earlier in the day before that the village seemed to be released from his manic grip. A lone woman entered the Administrative building and when she exited the building, she dragged a man out, wrapped in ice.
The man whom was wrapped by the ice had a thin blanket wrapped around him to prevent complications from contact with the ice. The previous Mizukage was unconscious. The woman dragged him through the village until she reached the hospital. Once there, she went inside and spoke to the doctors and nurses for a brief moment. They led her inside, and she followed, continuing to drag the man behind her. She left half a hour later without the man. Shortly after that it was announced that the new Mizukage would be chosen the next day.
When that day came, Mizuki stood on a platform in front of the administrative building. She wore typical clothing. Her white yukata top was open, showing her mesh tank top below. Over that was a light blue scarf. On her head was the wide triangular hat that indicated her as the Mizukage. As the village gathered, the woman spoke calmly. Her voice was firm and cold, like a glacier crashing through the silence that hung in the air.
“Kirigakure’s chain of failed Mizukages is now over,” she began. Her voice was slow and deliberate, as if she was thinking about every word she said before she spoke. “I will not poison my mind, my body nor this village as the past Mizukages have done. I have acted not once but twice in the past to keep this village safe, and now I will ensure that we will become the world power that we were in the past.” Looking off to the side, she raised her right hand, motioning over the crowd. “Mizukage Nezumi was found insane by the Kirigakure hospital late last evening. In his office we found proof of his deranged plans to rebuild this mighty and historic village into a bastardization named Florence. He had written about poisoning the air in a desperate attempt to defend himself. He had forgotten that this village is the strongest of all the villages. Our past is written in the blood and sweat of ourselves and out enemies!” Mizuki took a step towards the edge of the platform. “Kirigakure is a brutal and beautiful village. Our people are strong and savage. You are all an elegant population that can turn into chaos with the snap of a finger. Kirigakure is as fluid and dangerous as the seas that surround us. Be proud Kirigakure. A new age is going to begin. The village of the bloody mist will no longer stumble along in the mist and fog.”
With that, she stepped down from the platform into the crowd, taking questions and comments from the villagers.
