Bakuton Chakra.
Explosion Release. This is an ability instilled in a Kotonashi clansman at birth and awakened during training as they grow accustomed to the concept and process. Every clansman is predisposed to lightning and earth elements as a default biological trait, and through a combination of repeated exposure and selective breeding, they are naturally attuned to process the chakra cycles that go into the formation of explosion release jutsu. As such, they are able to produce Bakuton without the necessity for handseals to help mold their chakra. There is a limitation when using this ability in that the user may only utilize techniques of their current rank or lower without supplementary aid.
Bakuton Seals.
This is another method for the members of the clan to use their ability. In essence, by storing up some reserve of their blast release-chakra into Fuuinjutsu seals, it can be filled and thus detonated when triggered to release from that which the seal is implemented. The scale and destructive potential of these seals depend on the chakra output involved in each, which correlates to the skill level of their creators, with the smallest application spanning your average shinobi tool like a shuriken or a kunai and acting similarly to a basic explosive note. While the raw manifestation of chakra acts as a more immediate assault, these allow for timed detonations, and can be crafted with strategy in mind. Furthermore, the Kotonashi can even implant the seals on human bodies, or anything really, creating a kamikaze out of themselves or directly blasting a person into sanguine pulp (with OOC permission of course, as with anything lethal or potentially so.)

Release Hierarchy.
This mostly applies to the modulation of general ninjutsu molding, but nevertheless, the explosive properties of their chakra can be altered from their natural state of basic destruction and create a morphology that suits different needs. This is known as the Release Hierarchy.
Area of Effect: Designed to cover the widest span and completely envelop a target.
Shockwave: Radiates shockwaves upon detonation, affecting the ground the most.
Vibrational: Converts active explosions into disorienting and possibly crippling vibrations.
Percussive: Creates booming and deafening sounds to the sense of hearing.
Rebounding: Not centered on damage so much as forcing the target away.
Condensed: The most damaging type, since it compacts to a specific point.
Ambit Sense.
The eyes of the bearer are permanently altered. Once the ability is unlocked at conception within the person, the color of their irises become a shade of deep dodger blue, with two sections of light blue lines forming a double breve underneath a similarly colored pupil. The outer sclera is white. These colors tend to appear darker, lighter, or a slightly different shade altogether depending on the illumination and contrast in the area. The coloration and pattern changes are passive. When the ability has been properly engaged and accessed, the left eye will flare with chakra, resembling something akin to billowing blue flame.

It does not create a personality shift, but the user enters an analytical mindset on their own. The bearer will become imbued with an extrasensory perception that allows them to intuitively gauge the decisions of anything that the natural longevity of their eyesight can see, including more pinpoint and precise things like formulating an accurate estimated radius of a technique through its trajectory and velocity. This is a phenomenal ability as it pertains to utilizing the subtle science involved in hand-to-hand combat, Weapon Arts, and on the battlefield in general. It creates a sense of equilibrium within the brain, allowing it to process everything with clarity. Aim and accuracy are augmented to peak potential. It also enables the user to better calculate the proper course of action to take against an opponent. The more information that becomes factored in, the more that someone can be sized up and scrutinized, thus the greater the insight about how to combat the individual becomes.
This ability would not counter an opponent possessing an area of advantage over the wielder. For example, if someone were faster, being able to postulate the boundaries and specifics of their maneuvers would not necessarily be able to help with the process of actually avoiding an attack initiated with their speed. It does not give the wielder any sort of instantaneous predictive foreknowledge—but merely an advantage when it comes to considering or recognizing variables and patterns that have already occurred during the course of a fight. Prolonged use will strain the eye and make it feel as though it literally is on fire. Reckless use in a single stint would make the eye turn blind, though that requires ignoring almost debilitating pain.
This is a selective ability that has been locked away from the vast majority of the Kotonashi bloodline. It is almost a genetic anomaly among members of the clan, and only a select person in any given generation will be able to unlock it. The individual who does bear the ability is born with the potential to tap into its effects on the brain, and its presence is distinguishable by the pattern in both eyes—an inherent change. Nezumi was lauded within the Kotonashi and parts of Buranchiagakure at large for accessing this shift, up until his clan and village were widely eviscerated and their numbers driven into the minuscule.

Description: This is a bloodline ability of blast release that the Kotonashi clan posses and is inherent within their chakra. Explosion Release (爆遁, Bakuton) is an advanced chakra nature kekkei genkai. This chakra nature seems to give the wielder the ability to utilize explosive chakra in combat, allowing them to cause explosions in objects they come into contact with, as well as manipulate the characteristics of Explosions, such as absorbing explosions into their body and redistributing them how they see fit, damaging any target area in degrees that depend upon the potency of the user’s chakra and, by proxy, their rank. The reason that the explosive properties do not affect the clan members is because their bodies are interconnected with the substance and are able to redistribute the chakra from explosions within their own bodies, but a counterpart of it. Any part of the explosion that encompasses around the user’s anatomy will simply disperse, leaving the remainder of the percussion to affect everything detonating it. The size of each is proportional to the amount of chakra that the user wishes to employ. As their chakra circulates through their body, it remains in a stable condition where it functions as any other kind would. However, when it becomes exposed to the outside world, it has the potential to be brought to a state of instability, whereupon it will break apart at its core and create violent outward energy explosions, transferring force and inflicting damage to anything that happens to come into contact with it from the surface level. The user is an exception to this damaging effect. As it moves outward, energy that makes its way back to the owner of the chakra becomes harmlessly absorbed into their body

Description: This is a secondary bloodline ability of the clan, where their Bakuton Chakra is utilized through the fuuinjutsu application of seals. Any practical solid surface can hold one of these seals. After they have been placed, they can be released remotely with the use of a single hand (middle and ring fingers upright, thumb overlapping the index and pinky fingers pointing downward). Once released, the chakra of the clan member goes unstable and explodes. The destructive potential and span of these releases depend on the chakra amount instilled into a each seal. The more chakra is infused into the seal, the larger it needs to be.

Description: This is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Kotonashi clan. Practitioners of this style use very stout and forceful movements, aiming their strikes with pinpoint accuracy into specific areas on the opponent. For each strike, the user will project a set amount of their bakuton chakra from their bodies and apply it to an outer epidermis (or a target surface), at which point its natural function of breaking apart and releasing potent explosive properties will come into play in a compressed and forceful manner. When in use, this stance takes on a very theatrical style, with the ability to violently blow opponents in any direction, comparable to striking a ping pong ball with a paddle. Equal to its theatrics is its potency, and the potential it has to cause mass destruction, wearing down even the most resilient fighters.

Description: This is a form of Weapon Arts used by members of the Kotonashi clan. Practitioners of this style use their ability to store portions of their stable chakra into ninja tools with seals, at which point they will be thrown into or near an opponent, signaling their chakra to release and causing it to detonate. The damage potential for these depend entirely on the weapons used, as the seal will cause more damage as its size is enhanced and more chakra is placed inside of it. The hierarchy is found under the Bakuton Seals entry. As such, the size of the seal—and thus its overall potency—are limited to the physical span of the weapon that the user places the seal on.

Description: This is a basic ninjutsu technique of the Kotonashi that will allow them to alter the explosive properties of their chakra in order to suit different needs that they have. While they are preparing to use an application of their chakra, this technique becomes compounded with that application and thus alters how it reacts when the energy goes unstable. It has a basic explosive function by default, though that is not always useful when it comes to matters of strategy and adaptation, especially on a battlefield that constantly changes.
Area of Effect: This makes the explosion reach twice its radius at the cost of only inflicting a fraction of the damage (if it would normally span 10 meters, it could go 20). It is designed to envelop the body and cover as much surface as it can. Use of this cycle is accomplished by using less chakra and spreading it farther out. While its destructive potential would be reduced, it still hurts just as much as an initial release would—which is to say, a shitload. It can be used for scare tactics, torture, or just for being cruel.
Shockwave: Converts force into powerful penetrative shockwaves that affect hardened surfaces the most, especially the natural ground. Excellent against opponents who like to burrow, for reverberating against armor, or for specific purposes where their use would be the most conventional solution—like sending them through a body of water or breaking a mountain apart.
Vibrational: Converts force into skeleton-rattling vibrations. Effective at completely disorienting an opponent with each strike. Imagine if you were shaken violently and tried to walk straight. With this cycle active, multiply that sensation. While not completely debilitating on its own, it does have the potential to be. And if you thought shockwaves were good against armor, this would be f.ucking hilarious.
Percussive: Converts force into loud noise. Due to the nature of this cycle, it should be performed in conjunction with techniques that cover a much wider ground than the others, perhaps sealed inside of a weapon and thrown. This is because, being sound, it could easily damage the user just as much as the target. It can temporarily weaken the hearing and possibly screw with equilibrium.
Rebounding: It doesn't serve to damage the target at all, but moreso it forces them away. Any of the properties that would have been used to actively inflict damage on an opponent are instead converted and layered so that it becomes focused enough on anything drawing near to forcibly repel it. While it doesn't harm a target on its own, it can however launch them farther and higher.
Condensed: This makes the explosion draw back half of its radius at the benefit of inflicting more damage to a specific point (if it would normally span 10 meters, it would go 5). It is designed to focus on a single part of a surface. Use of this cycle is accomplished by using more chakra and drawing it in tighter. This is a cycle that is almost always used for brutal injuries or assassinations.
Kamikaze Bunshin no Jutsu

Description: This technique creates incorporeal clones (currently a maximum of three at a time) that reacts to the chakra of the Kotonashi clan, making it unique to them and also a hidden technique. The clone takes on the exact likeness of the user, and most people would mistake it for the well-known, regular Clone Technique that involves illusory copies. Like its counterpart, it is easily discernible as a fake copy. However, the difference is that these variants are laced with a small amount of the clan’s bakuton chakra when a member makes them, meaning they explode when met with solid matter. In this case though, the explosion is considerably weaker than a raw strike from a Kotonashi and serves for little more than an unnerving distraction. Due to the chakra being thinned, it will only affect the opponent’s epidermis slightly.
Doukasen Enchou —[Fuse Extension]

Description: This is a considerably more damaging Ninjutsu known to the Kotonashi clan. With it, a member of the clan is able to project or shoot their explosive chakra at opponents. It’s much like a projectile, but practically invisible, possessing the same appearance as the feint glow that appears when in use on parts of their body but in tendril form. For a Genin, it is only somewhat invisible, appearing like a wave within the air. It will emit a small rushing sound much like a feint breeze bustling through the trees, noticeable only to those attuned to their surroundings. The results of the explosions are proportional to the user. Genin may only harm the external, for up to the same amount as one of their powered strikes due to that being the amount of bakuton chakra they’re accustomed to molding. There is also a wait period between uses (2 posts).
Saihenseikouchou —[Rhino Formation: Armor and Helmet]

Description: Saihenseikouchou is the defensive base of the Kotonashi clan. Within this stance, their right hand is straightened to their forehead, as if a symbolic ‘horn’ of a rhinoceros is formed. This is the only variant. The more the user of the technique develops, the more insight they will have, and the more they can predetermine the maneuvers of the opponent. The user will ready themselves and their body with this stance and infuse their own bakuton chakra into that readied bodypart. When contact is made from something such as an opponent, an explosion will ensue, conceivably injuring the opponent and protecting the user. This technique can also weaken the damage of lesser techniques with blunt force. Not everything can be sensed, deflected or weakened in the same, and the amount things can depend solely on experience. The main difference between the defensive variant and the offensive is that the former focuses much more on applying it in a way that it repels more than it forces.
Clan History:
There is a Kumogakure fable about the ones birthed from the clouds. In a small land ravaged with war and the soil drenched with tears from the sky, a lustrous burst caressed the atmosphere as lightning ripped into the ground, destroying it utterly. This cataclysm of nature and the bloodlust of the feuding armies created an energy on that day, giving rise to a new genesis, evolved in the image of shinobi—carved to near perfection in appearance; ability moreso.
It was only a legend, of course. The inception of the Kotonashi clan recognized in official record can be traced back to antiquity where inhabitable lands were few and civilizations were scattered. Its founders and their generations grew up in an incredibly tumultuous environment. Lightning storms cause mass explosions when hitting the earth which was ubiquitous there. It was befitting, because the Kotonashi had always possessed an affinity for lightning & earth. The common belief was that their chakra nature came as a biological imperative for survival...but who could say? Their characteristics were difficult to trace, hence the myths.
Times were prosperous and courtesy was in order. Settled in their ways after long since forming a family, the nameless patriarch and his subordinates clasped hands and joined together in a collective hum. All hushed, intoning soft prayer. After their mumbling, everything in sight dimmed. The familiar rumbling disturbed the anticipatory women and children, but the patriarch remained steadfast. A cacophonous noise preceded ringing ears. Their adrenaline rushed like the streak of desolation embracing frail bodies. This practice was excruciating and reoccurring.
This ritual survived up until the First Shinobi World War, whereupon the realization struck that not even the gods had the power to protect them, if the gods even existed to receive their praise. The war served as a culling process, where their numbers dwindled down to absolute strongest of the group; more women than men, interestingly enough. By the conclusion of the war, most of their numbers had been vanquished, and they became a primarily militarized clan out of necessity. Though they would not have agreed to it being beneficial at the time, posterity proved it to be.
Taking note of the remaining fighters in lieu of the casualties, the nameless patriarch had found his ideal, and that was to set the stage to breed the most capable shinobi for his lineage. It was in honor of the vast generational staircase that came before him, and ultimately, the generations who would succeed him. Eugenics became his life mission; an obsession that would come to nearly consume his humanity. Any lesser person was murdered at birth. The patriarch established a science division to dissect each infant, with he serving as the overseer—a mad scientist.
Although he did come to achieve what he wanted in the creation of a set of offspring with perfect genes, he had failed to master a way to extend his own life, and thus the patriarch perished. With his own life ending, he used his skills to murder all but the most capable members of his clan. Anyone deemed unsuitable was cleansed from the Kotonashi, leaving only the members with the greatest and most suitable genes. This set the precedent for future generations of the clan, and the practice continued to influence the clan into modern times, albeit with expatriation rather than death.

TRAINING: All members are instructed on the basis for how their chakra is and all of the history that went into the creation of it. As such, the most important lesson a Kotonashi child can learn is that he can't simply go out molding his chakra around other people without the possibility that the person can get seriously injured or killed. Each warrior-class clansman is exposed to high amounts of treacherous training habits from their birth into adulthood. This is to condition them into handling their abilities better, and it is believed to increase their power. Although they are not a mercenary clan, their bodies are conditioned to kill. It is a brutal process to train a Kotonashi. Their mental and physical limitations are repeatedly pushed beyond exhaustion. Their proving ground serves more as a concentration camp than a clan compound, where the elite coerce the weak like tyrannical dictators to become strong.
POPULATION: This is a clan very limited in number, and the exclusivity is what breeds elitism. Many of them carry themselves with an entitled disposition, or a complex of grandeur. This is not always the case, especially through external experience, but it is a part of their conditioning to make clansmen believe that they are superior to everyone else. Their complexions are fair, and their hair usually always in lighter hues, namely blonde. Their natural eyes are blue. The clan has no dress code unless there are branches or teams formed within the compound.Their appearances are indiscernible to most people. Many of them have opted to dress as civilians in order to exonerate the public display of having ties to any particular shinobi village or organization.
NATURE & VALUES: Chaotic-Neutral. Maintain ties with your clan or you will be branded as an exile and destroyed upon your return. If you become weak, you will be routed out like an insect. Life is war. Your existence here destined for your life to be difficult. There is no requirement to wage war with others lacking provocation. Conduct yourselves as respectable shinobi and avoid unneeded confrontation. If you do strike, incapacitate your foe without remorse. If you incapacitated foe has a demon or other means to continue their assault, and you find that your life is threatened—slay them like rabid mongrels.
