It's gotta be da swank if it ain't da rank[Training] Tumblr_lzrtk3H0S61qjh5yso1_500

He had done it. He had finally arrived to the famed, but rarely known, the legendary, but small scale, the peaceful, but chaotic home of Shadow Ninja Arts. Only a few days ago Kobachi had ventured off on a training trip like he frequently did, but it was on this trip he came by a mysterious stranger. This man spoke of this supposedly grand school of martial arts and that was enough to make Kobachi forget all about the date he had promised to return to Kumogakure. He had now been gone for an extra five days, deep in the mountains of the Land of Lightning, no where near the realm of jurisdiction of the Raikage or his ninja's.

Now with bloody finger tips the boy was tirelessly scaling a rocky wall. Using chakra would obviously be an easy out here, but that wasn't the type of life Kobachi was about. Moving his feet in a running like fashion he got his feet in near his body, with the ledge of the rock formation he was climbing in sight. Using his physical might alone, Kobachi then leapt for the ledge above him. One hand tapped the rocky surface and as the other moved up to do the same, the blood on his hands made his hand slip off and Kobachi then found himself in a free fall. Needless to say the teens heart was beating ferociously as he turned to face the ground below him to maybe find away to save himself.

There it was, he remembered the branch well as it was the piece of vegetation he had awoken on in the morning, so he knew it was sturdy enough to support his weight. His weight while falling was another story though. Maybe cheating himself out of training, though it was much needed in this life or death situation, Kobachi coated his hand with a small amount of chakra and pressed his hand off the cliff side to propel himself towards the branch that he was aiming to hit. That's right not, grab onto or catch, but to hit as that would be more realistic and a safer route, though it would be painful.

So with a quick shove, the teens palm was sliced open, but it was worth it as he had succeeded. Slamming his gut onto the thick branch of vegetation in the cliff side, while in pain the boy clung onto the extended dry branch for his life. The adrenaline made him break out into cold sweats and unnoticed by him before, Kobachi was shaking like a leaf.

"Fear." The words were said in a stoic voice and were enough to make the Genin almost lose his grip from the branch and fall to his death. "Fear for your life, but it was that fear that allowed you to survive and continue your journey in this world. You have my respect young one. Come . . . walk with me." The man was dressed in a curious style of garments, but seemed harmless, well not harmless, but he didn't seem like he meant harm. "I would walk, but I am training my body to not rely on chakra." The man looked at Kobachi as he stood on the cliff side denying the existence of gravity as he eyed the boy. "Chakra is a gift to us boy. It is nice not to lean on or over rely on things, but it is also nice to appreciate the gifts we have and take advantage of the things they allow us to do. With a simple glimpse I can tell you, you won't be able to make it even close to your previous spot." Kobachi looked up and saw his view up was blocked by a thin layer of clouds and he could feel his body's fatigue as he thought about climbing anyways, but he took the mans words to heart, for they did make sense. "I see what you are saying, so yes . . . I will walk with you sir."

The man seemed delighted and as Kobachi recollected himself and stood on the safe haven before walking up the mountain side. "So, I imagine that you are here to train at the Shadow Ninja Arts school?" Kobachi nodded and smile to the man. "Yes, I hear they have ancient techniques that could help me on my journey" The man nodded and chuckled a bit. "You remind me of myself when I was a Genin, well . . . when I was a ninja. Now I'm just an old hermit. Hah!" Kobachi shared a laugh with the man, then wondered why the man was in attendance. "So what about you, why are you hear sir?" Please, call me Blanka, but I'm hear for the same reason you are, to see the school of Shadow Ninja Arts. I heard about it from a traveler while on the road." Kobachi's eyes light up as the man said that. "The same thing happened to me! That's very interesting, but I hope our training is very good for our body and minds. A lot of teacher forget to train their minds too." Kobachi was a little inclined to begin to talk about the chakras to the man, but didn't want to flood his head with info he probably wasn't interested in.

After an hour or so of walking, the duo had finally arrived. But what they saw was more than disappointing. The martial arts school had been destroyed, no beyond destroyed, it was decimated. Smoke still rose from the burnt wood and tatami matting, this alerted Kobachi that this was done at the most, half a day ago. "This smoke means that the destruction was soon ago. We should keep looking to find clues." Kobachi had took a knee near a destroyed building and the man did the same near him and nodded. "You're right . . . on both ends. Lets keep investigating."

Wandering through the rubble and the destroyed area it wasn't long before they came across a group of dead bodies. Seemingly there were two groups, this being assumable from two outfits that were recycled on the bodies of each deceased soul. The two shared a look and nodded, they were on the same page. The group that was at fault wasn't distinguishable at this point, but at least the story was beginning to get painted out.

"Hmm . . . I will try to find people, hold on." Kobachi paused and took in a breath before making two simple handseals. Expelling his breath into the atmosphere, he laced the air with his chakra allowing him to sense any and all presences. Waiting a moment with closed eyes, he then opened them. "I found one person, but they seem to be low on chakra, we should hurry." The man nodded and followed Kobachi lead as they proceeded.

Spoiler:

As they traveled through and passed the rubble, the soon arrived to a pinch in their path. Te only way they could go now was up a set of steps, but anyone with eyes could see this was a bit sketchy. Blood stains splattered on the ivory floor, Kobachi felt uneasy continuing his journey, but of course he did anyhow. Avoiding each stain as if they were sacred markings, his travel companion didn't bother to. This didn't really make Kobachi suspect anything of him, but it was just funny how humans were different. At the peak of the stairs they stopped. The suspense was evident in the atmosphere and Kobachi looked towards the man and he took it upon himself to enter first. "A younger ninja like you should leave things like this to me." The front of the small temple style building was already demolished and was only being covered by a small drape that had angles of blood on it as well.

Pulling back the cloth with no fear of touching the blood the man made no audible noises to give Kobachi an idea of what to expect. "Si-sir?" Kobachi waited for awhile and then figured he'd step inside for himself. Brushing aside the covering, the Genin's eyes widened at the site before him. The man was grave robbing the body. Without a doubt this was the same chakra signature Kobachi had sensed, but to defile ones grave like this one did was shameful. "You should not disrespect the dead, by taking their belongings sir." The man looked at Kobachi and chuckled gruffly. "If you are truly a shinobi, you should know this is one of the jobs we are given, but yeah . . . normally I wouldn't bring myself to defile someones dead body." Moving a clothing garment of the body out of the way the man retrieved a black book. "There we go . . ." She flipped through a couple pages validating it was what he was searching for then shifted through a bit of handseals. "Body Elimination." With the mumble of words came the destruction of the corpse in a glimpse as it simply turned to ashes that would be swept away with the next breeze.

"Wa-wait." The man was on his way out the room curtain already being pulled aside before he turned around to face Kobachi. "Hm?" The teens eyes moved from the ash pile to the man, then the book in his hand. "You you only came here for that book? What if he was still alive? . . . Would you have killed that man?" The man chuckled before putting the book away and retrieving a porcelain mask. "Anbu!" Kobachi hopped onto his guard into a fighting stance. "hoho, calm down young one, I have no issue with you, but yes. If the man was still alive and did not comply I would have murdered him. You make a fine right hand though. Strong body and sensory skills, you'll make a fine Anbu member in your village one day."

Kobachi hesitantly moved out of his stance and rubbed his hair line in a bit of a nervous fritz. He was glad to see someone acknowledged his talent and even complemented him to the degree of not saying he would be a fine Anbu ninja, but the fact he thought the boy could be one. Bowing in appreciation he thanked the man. "Thank you sir, that was a kind complement." The man chuckled from beneath his mask and rubbed the back of his head. "You know what. I have a couple extra days out on deployment for this mission, but I accomplished it pretty quick. Seeing as you came here in search of some training, how about I give you some?" Kobachi truthfully forgot all about the training as he was so focused on the murders, but the word brought a great smile to his face. "I would be honored!" The man would smile underneath his mask, but of course it wouldn't be visible. Motioning with a hand for Kobachi to follow him, the teen would do so eagerly.

Being lead through all the destruction to where they started on the plateau, Kobachi did have to agree it was a suitable training ground. Spacing himself away from Kobachi he then spoke. "Ok so, this technique is what I like to call my special or signature technique. Not a lot of people know about it, but if you read in history you'll hear about an ancient Tsuchikage possessing it. What it is, is the Fission Technique. It's like a clone, but instead it's a real person. Meaning it can live even if the originator dies, believe it or not, I'm not the original me. So I'm living proof that the technique is useful, now watch closely." Lifting up one finger as to give him a moment to focus, the man effortlessly began to spawn another body out of his side. Kobachi's mind was boggled. The sight was one, but the fact this new him could operate as its own person . . . it was ballistic. "See, now I'm gonna try to teach you, you ready?" The boy wasn't that skilled in Ninjutsu and the thought seemed to murder his whole drive. "That ability is very amazing sir . . . but I don't possess talent in Ninjutsu." Both versions of the man seemed to be shocked, but a hand on the chin seemed to put them both into deep thought. "I see . . . well maybe I can teach you the basics of the technique and you can perfect it one day when you are ready. How does that sound?" The Genin's face lit up and he nodded. "Good alright so think of the basic Shadow Clone Technique-" Kobachi raised his hand. "Hmm?" "I don't possess that technique either sir." The man rubbed the front of his mask obviously in a bind. "I'll teach you, come step over here." Kobachi did as instructed and before he knew it the man had him channeling chakra.

"Now the key is to imagine the Basic Clone technique . . . you can execute that right?" Kobachi chuckled and nodded. "Ok good, well think of that technique, but just channel more chakra into it and try to create the clone in your image of course." The Genin narrowed his eyes and attempted the technique and in a puff of smoke a lopsided clone with a droopy face was produced. A silence struck the atmosphere, before one of the mans copies, Kobachi didn't know who the original was anymore, had struck the clone dispelling it. "Do you need a mirror?" "No, I apologize, I will get it right next time." Kobachi's demeanor was serious and the man placed a hand on his back. "Good, now try again." Doing as instructed, his next clone came out perfectly. Kobachi celebrated with a shout, but the man simply struck the clone. "Now prove it wasn't a mistake." The Genin wished he could have been allowed more time to live in the moment, but he guessed the man was right. Doing so again, a perfect clone was created and Kobachi and the clone high-fived each other. "See did it!" Both spoke at once and Kobachi found it exciting, almost like having a brother.

Great, great, now . . ." He struck the copy, to much of Kobachi's dislike, but the Genin began to focus up again. "You have to imagine that same amount chakra for this one and imagine that clone, coming out of your body. The key is to focus on one point of your body, then to make it burst out." The pupil nodded and obeyed the teachers words. For better chakra control he also made the tiger seal. Just like he trained for the Eight Gate's he focused the chakra in a single spot, before trying to make it emerge forth like the man did. "Ok now think about making that chakra vibrate or shake very hard to the point that it splits from your body and manifest into a limb." He knew Kobachi couldn't pull off the real deal, so instead he would teach the boy a weaker version, this being Partial Fission.

Breathing in and out audible, Kobachi himself began to vibrate as he tried to make his chakra do it. The man then placed his hands on Kobachi's shoulders. "Keep going, but next time it'll be without my help." This helped stabilize the Genin's body and allowed only his chakra to move. Slowly, but surely a limb began to emerge from the Genin's stomach. His on eyes were closed so he couldn't see it, but the feeling was undeniable. The limb was only a hand and it seemed to struggle for life as it went out, then edged back in, then repeated the process. "Increase you chakra's quality, don't just apply shitty effort, your wasting your gift!" The man yelled at Kobachi and it was probably rooted to something in his past as he seemed to value gifted shinobi, but Kobachi simply took the advice he was tossed and focused on higher quality chakra control. With this the arm began to stabilize and soon enough it was there for good. Right in the center of his stomach, it was an odd spot, but it as an easy area to focus chakra into seeing as it was where the energy source originated. Looking down at it, it felt odd to control. It tightened into a fist and flexed and even snapped as Kobachi willed it to. "Good, you have one, now try another. This time without my help." The Genin again nodded to the sensei and made the Tiger seal with his own arms and the half tiger with the extra. While this was going on, the Anbu Ninja had merged back into his primary body or what was assumed to be it.

His eyes sealed shut again, the boy was back at it, but soon enough he started his undeniable shaking along with his chakra. The man remained quiet to much of Kobachi's surprise, but the Genin liked it better this way. Now it was all him and it was time to preform as if he was alone. An audible exhale like a snakes hiss, calmed his body and stopped the shaking and he continued to do so even with his body stabilized and not vibrating. Soon enough another limb began to spawn a few inches away from the other. The Anbu member nodded silently at the spectacle and continued to watch. Fingers came first, already in the formation of the half tiger handseal, his chakra quality became much cleaner and it showed as the rest of the arm came out much quicker until it was as long as the other.

Great, you've done it . . . now return them to your body." Kobachi hadn't noticed when they merged back together, but he simply listened to the being present. Moving his hands back to the tiger seal, Kobachi was denied the right. "No . . . without the tiger seal. A ninja of your caliber should always challenge themselves." Kobachi was confused at first seeing as the man was saying before take advantage of your gifts, but he figured this was a different circumstance. "Ok . . ." Bringing his hands to his side in a clenched fist, he crouched into a steady stance and easier than he thought, the limbs slipped back into his body. "Oh . . . that was more easy than I thought it would be." The man chuckled as he walked over to Kobachi and patted him on the head. "Teaching you was easier than I thought it'd be . ..  great job. Next time we meet we may be enemies, so train hard young ninja." Kobachi took the words to heart and watched the man depart. Figuring he wouldn't leave this day, but the day after so he could rest, he continued training on the mountain plateau.
