Spoiler:

Stepping outside of the daycare, Kotaro rolled his shoulders simultaneously then twisted his torso earning a couple of pops. Irritation plagued his face as he was shamelessly disappointed in the daycare employee for letting small children not only get lost, but get lost in the village rather than in the shelter of the facility. Shaking his head and with a release of oxygen from his lungs he hunched his cloaked frame over then leaped to the roof tops.

From their he would have a vantage point and be able to overlook the streets of Iwagakure for any toddlers or odd occurrences that had toddler traces. Walking along the elevated rooftop that had a small slant because the home covering was obviously a triangle, Kotaro made a balancing game out of it as he swayed left and right trying to keep himself steady. Keying back into the mission at hand, he figured he'd keep getting distracted on the roof top so he stepped off the roofs peek and slid down the slant with his feet, before leaping down onto the ground safely.

"Hmmmm . . ." Kotaro hummed as he looked over both shoulders and to his sides. Nothing seemed out of the norm and no one seemed to have a dirty secret or have a state of panic upon finding a wandering youngster. "Bah" He expressed lightly in a vexed tone as he trudged along. Hands swinging about childishly by his sides, he kept his eyes actively sweeping the area until he saw a little child run inside of a store. "Ahhh, finally!" With great haste, Kotaro's frame began to jet forward as fast as he could. That alone wasn't that fast due to Kotaro not being one for physical training, but it was a decent pace. Coming to a stop his head looked over into the shop that was a convenience store, but odd enough it was empty. "Hey kid!" Kotaro shouted as he entered the store wondering where the kid was. No clerk was even present, it was literally deserted.

"What the hell." One of Kotaro's brows raised as he hesitantly approached a back door that was present in the building seeing as that was the only place the kid could go. First cracking it and peeking, then peeking his head inside the area looked like a normal break room. A lone fan spinning on the ceiling, a table in the center of the room, then a counter, but all of the surfaces were empty. Curiously Kotaro stepped inside the room and closed the door silently behind himself. Walking throughout the room, he noticed that was all that was in there. No additional doors anything, but he didn't know where else the child could have gone. "What the hell . . ." Kotaro said walking by the counter and drumming his fingers on it.

Shrugging, he guessed his eyes mislead him and he began to move to the door, but on his way he heard some chatter and it was drawing near. "Oh crap!" He said a bit hushed, but with concern as he moved to a position beside the door, so it would swing open in front of him and he wouldn't be seen.

Then to his surprise the toddler from before filed in and so did the rest of them. Kotaro shook his head, but was relieved. "Hey, what are you kids doing in here?" He said in an authoritative tone as if he belonged in the room himself. In turn they shrugged and Kotaro simply lead them back to the daycare.

Next on his agenda was to hunt down a great bird known as a Garuda. Kotaro wondered what correlations the names had, seeing as his Tsuchikage's name was Garuda. Was one named after the other or maybe just a coincidence. As much as it bugged him, Kotaro was glad he would be able to find out soon as the Tsuchikage himself would be joining him on this trip. So there Kotaro sat outside the village gates awaiting his Kage.

Garuda would sigh deeply as he was heading toward the village gates to go on a mission with his student, as Garuda didn't really hate what they were doing but the name of the bird was were his hatred was. Having the name of such a mighty creature could seem to be something one should like but not Garuda. As he was and should only be the one who had such a name no matter hoe powerful the creature may or may not be the name "Garuda" belonged to this guy."Kotaro you ready?" Garuda would say as he stood next to his student a blank expression on his face when he spoke. Garuda for some reason didn't want the boy to ask him question on his name, on where it came from, or if he was named after the bird. This was because Garuda had already ask these same question to his mother when he was younger and that answer is why he acts this way to things with the same name of him. But if the boy would ask Garuda didn't know if he would answer him or not; but hopefully his student would be focused on the mission instead of the name of the bird and the Tsuchikage.

The Koi Scroll strapped to the back of Kotaro's hips by a sash that reached over his shoulders, he smiled at his stone faced Kage. "Eh someone's pissy . . ." He thought to himself. He wondered if it had anything to do with the mission seeing how him and the bird apparently had history. With a nod to his Kage's words he began walking, but replaced with his external silence was internal buzzing. "Are you scared senpai?" Kotaro would ask while looking over to Garuda with a thoughtful expression, If Garuda was looking he might have caught sight of the strange seal placed on Kotaro's tongue due to some shenanigans he got himself into. Reports say the bird almost killed Garuda when he was younger, so maybe this new side of the man, though he was already odd, was due to a deep rooted fear. "If you are, don't worry . . . I'll protect ya." Kotaro said in a playful tone before snickering and smiling. Had the days always been this nice? He wondered, his trip to Suna did him well as he woke up everyday with a new mind set and a smile plastered onto his face despite the deep shit he was in with the organization that had abducted him.

"Afraid?" Garuda would say as he looked up at the sky as he thought of what Kotaro just said, when he did this he wasn't able to see the thing on Kotaro's tongue. Garuda was going to say something serious and might cause his student to fear him from his words, but when Kotaro said he would protect him that gave the man a smile on his face."We will see who will be needing saving." Garuda would say as he looked at his student."So, Kotaro what do you plan on doing to combat the bird? As it would be a very tough opponent for someone of your skill level. As I have fought two of these birds in my lifetime and only once have they given me a bit of trouble." Garuda would say calmly as if that bit of trouble wasn't him almost dying. But what would you expect if a freshly made chunnin went up against a powerful and legendary bird just because of the name it had. And well if anyone knew Garuda's reasons on fighting the bird in his youth might laugh at him as doing such a thing just because of a name can be considered truly foolish. But if they were in his position and had the same feelings as he did about his name would do the same though.

Kotaro's head reeled back as he too peered at the sky looking at the small bit of clouds drifting overhead. "How am I gonna fight it . . . I'm gonna use my newest puppet . . . no, maybe I'll try my ink style techniques like how I fought the tiger. Or maybe . . . hmmm, I'm not sure. I was gonna rely on my Sasori Puppet, but seeing how the opponent is an aerial fighter that may not work. How did you combat it, when you encountered it Senpai." Kotaro would look at Garuda with his last sentence in curiosity. He thought maybe if he provoked the bird first, then his puppet could be an ample option. At this point, Kotaro wasn't sure though. Hopefully some insight on the matter would help him devise a strategy.

"How did I combat it? How did I......." Garuda would rub his chin as he began to think of what he did to kill the bird, but which time should he tell the boy. The second time was very simple as he was way more powerful then the bird and after he followed it back to its nest he taunted it till it came towards him, and then finished it off. But the first time Garuda fought the bird was completely different as it took him more then a week to finish doing combat with the creature, as he was very young and didn't have many experience doing combat with a creature that fought in the sky. After a few moments of thinking about what he did the first time Garuda would decided he would tell Kotaro about the day he killed the bird instead of the week it took to fight it,"Well what I did my first time was track the bird as we are doing now. And then......I just went with what was best for the situation." Garuda would say but thought that wasn't a good enough answer so he would just tell Kotaro the full story."Actually, for a week I did battle with the bird...escaping when I was close to losing and then tracked it back down till I felt I was going to win when fought again. So long story short when I last fought the bird when I was young was when I fought it within a cave...stopping it from using its advantage in the sky." Garuda would yawn."But just go with what you think would be best for the situation we are put in Kotaro...as you are stronger then I was when I fought the bird." Garuda would add as he put his hands in his pocket.

Like a sounding board, Kotaro absorbed each of the words tossed at him and they were used to paint the scene of the battle. A battle that lasted for a week and was about a boy and survival, it was a beautiful looking script of images, Kotaro wished to illustrate the story one day to give it the glory it seemed it should have. But then again this could have just been Kotaro's admiration of Garuda clouding his vision and making something seem greater than it was, regardless in the boys mind it was an awe inspiring short tale.

"hmmmm . . . I want to study the bird . . . get an accurate picture of it for future use and for documentary purposes." Kotaro would say with a determined look on his face. With that look soon came his attention shifting down and his sleeve covered hands flicking abruptly. This swift and militant motion spawned three pieces of blank paper, better known and rightfully named Sealing Paper. With his other hand, either since the ninja was ambidextrous, he would swivel his fingers on the papers surface to leave his ink mark. Each being the kanji for barrier, his fingers that were holding the papers in a fan, then shifted inwards stacking them, before depositing them back into his cloak. "Are you any god at Fuinjutsu Sensei?" His expression would go from serious and stern to a more thoughtful and curious expression, the face he always wore when he was digging into Garuda's persona, past, skill set, or just overall knowledge.

"Kotaro I AM not at all skilled in Fuinjutsu. I don't know why but I just have never been good at it." Garuda would tell his student, a bit of depression in his voice as he spoke about how he wasn't at all good at Fuinjutsu. Why that was because he didn't like being unskilled in things others, especially younger shinobi, where good at or at least had an ability to use it better then him. But Garuda's mood would change to a happier one as he almost forgot Kotaro just said he would like to study the creature they were hunting, a small smile coming on his face. As he believed Kotaro was showing that he could be a very skilled shinobi one day, as all ninja in this world on everytask that deals with hunting should study their prey before attacking.

Kotaro nodded to his sensei's words and was glad he had practice in an area Garuda didn't. Not to rub it in his face, but simply because that meant they could cover more bases as a team. Soon enough the road they were walking on began to morph into a more solid stone surface. They were nearing a large cliff side where this bird was supposedly nesting at and not soon after the duo would arrive, that large ominous and looming shadow of the beast could be seen. Swiveling his fingers in his cloak on the sleeves, he drew an accumulation of bats using memory alone. These wouldn't be used yet, but simply on deck for later use if needed. "Sensei can you lure the bird down, my long range attacks are chakra taxing and my puppets aren't aerial fighters." He would look over to Garuda with high hopes, his faith evident in his eyes as he peered at the man.

A disappointed look would come over his face after what Kotaro said, as he didn't want to help. For a minute he would look side to side before whistling, but not to get the bird they were hunting attention but another one. The most powerful bird Garuda had every meet in his life and would never cross...Nana. His pet who had been following them since they had left the village, as she didn't like being away from Garuda. The bird would fly from the sky it was in and land on Garuda's shoulder."Okay, call out that bird for me..please." Garuda would say as he pointed to the direction of the bird. Nana would fly into the direction Garuda had pointed. Garuda would then turn to Kotaro,"Be ready. As I am not helping unless you are about to die." He would tell him as he would lay on the ground and stare up at the sky.

Nana after a few minutes could bee seen flying back from the area, and would sit on Garuda's chest. After that a loud screech could be heard and the wings of a larger bird her flapping in the air, and after a few seconds the Great Garuda bird would fly over them. It would begin to circle above them for a few seconds before flying back to where it came from. It would then come back but this time heading straight toward Kotaro, it was going to try and grab Kotaro.

Kotaro's face frowned slightly as his sensei showed disappointment. Was he not supposed to ask for assistance? In that case he would revoke his words and replace them with new ones in hopes of re-securing his position in his sensei's eyes. "No! Don't worry about it, sit back, I'll handle it Garuda-Senpai." His shrouded arm extended out to hold Garuda back or signal to take no action, Kotaro would be swift with his. He had longer ranging techniques, but he just preferred not to use them due to the chakra cost, but in this case where his value as a student was questioned, he would gladly pay the chakra cost and then some. His actions would be more fleshed out now since he had to handle it by himself, but Kotaro was a trap fighter and since he had time to prepare, he would graciously do so.

Taking in a breath, then exhaling one, Kotaro already knew what he wanted to do, but having to handle it alone would require much more effort and much more planning. Three barrier tags set up in his sleeve, plans to study the bird would have to be scrapped and attempted another time. One slick movement and the tags were tossed out to form a triangle with each tag 5m away from the other. The closest tag to Kotaro would be about 3m away meaning his timing would have to be precise, for there was barely room for error. Walking into the center of this triangle set up, another breath cycle was made and out from the palms of his hands came volumes of sticky and brain numbing black ink. Almost to the point of flowing out of the triangle the flooding was stopped and Kotaro retreated back a few meters back to his previous position. For about thirty seconds he focused on his chakra that was in the form of ink in the triangle and he made sure he could remember its location even with eyes closed.

Nodding to himself it was time to bring forth the beast. A few modifications to the bats were made as they would do little in this scenario and now he had two birds in each sleeve that resembled a phoenix. Seven heavenly tails on each, Kotaro's sleeves were slung forward and the mythical creatures were brought forth. Kotaro's sleeves shuddering violently as the birds stretched off the surface they were drawn on, it seemed as if Kotaro's cloak was a dimension of its own. Off into the sky they screeched and swooned and experienced life, before Kotaro commanded them to hunt for the bird, Garuda, and bring it here. Once they located the specimen, one would aggravate it with pecks and taloned strikes while the other stayed back for safety measures. hen once attention was grabbed, they would tease the bird and lure it back to Kotaro aiming the flutter directly over the triangle formation prepared.

Nana wouldn't be able to assist when Garuda called her as Kotaro planned to do this all alone, and this made a small smile come across Garuda's face. But the small owl would sit on Garuda's chest until Kotaro would send his ink bird to find the beast, she would then proceed to follow them to see what they would do to bring the great bird out. It watched as they finally found the bird after a few minutes and one of them began to peck and attack it with it's talons at the sleeping beasts. Nana would hurry and fly back as it new it wouldn't be long till the bird would awake and attack the one causing it harm. Once she had made it back and landed on Garudas chest once again a loud screech could be heard through the area.

The Great bird, Garuda, would awake but the bird attacking it would begin to tease it and fly away. The Garuda bird would grow more angry at this and take flight after the ink birds, unable to catch them between it's larger beak when it attempted to bite it out of the sky.The Garuda bird was going to attempt a more quicker attempt with it's talons but it spotted Garuda and kotaro, and its began to get hungry. It forgot about the bird that had irritated as it would just come back for them later, as it wanted to eat first. And it's target would be Kotaro, since he was smaller then the man laying on the ground and to it seemed like something that would easily be swallowed. So at full speed( Tai Adept speed) it would jet toward Kotaro talons ready to grab the the boy.

Garuda wouldn't move even though he saw the bird coming for Kotaro, even though this Garuda bird is bigger then the ones he has faced in the passed. This was because he had faith that Kotaro would be able to defend himself as he said earlier the boy was stronger then Garuda at his age, and that wasn't a lie. As Garuda picked Kotaro to be his student for a reason and that was because he could be one of the greatest ninja to ever live, but he wasn't going to tell the boy that as he didn't want him to get big headed. Nana would begin to fall asleep on Garuda's chest as she had used a lot of energy flying today, Garuda would pet the owl as she went to sleep. But to state this now this wasn't the real Garuda but a simple clone, his true reason on not fighting.

The deafening screech of the beast, did little to shake Kotaro's composure as the arrogant grin he had made his own as of late, slid onto his face . . . cocky. But maybe he wasn't in the wrong, even though it was only because he beat a monkey in chess, metaphorically speaking. Flexing his intellect on less intelligent creatures, that weren't even aware of the game they were playing . . . was it unfair, no . . . it was survival, welcome to the World of Shinobi biaaaaatch, is what Kotaro would scream in his mental as a triangle of ebony erected from the ground. Immediately after quickly reaching its full span of 10m up, the top of the triangle would seal shut locking in both Phoenix's and the Garuda. To the opposing avian, Kotaro, and even Garuda, regardless if he had his Sharigan active or not, vision would not be permitted inside or outside. The wall made of chakra black as shadows, maybe only the legendary Byakugan would be able to pierce the darkness.

Now on the offense, the puppet master was again in charge of the show and today controlled chaos was written on the script. Three birds, then a starved tiger would combat the bird set on shredding it alive, through pecks, taloned scraped, heavy claws, and hungry fangs. The tiger came into play from the ink puddle created in side the triangle as Kotaro had focused on this accumulation of ink and brought it to life, albeit he couldn't see it. Crazed roaring, screeching, and other bestial noises could be heard through the barrier and soon it settled down and only the muffled noise of a tiger would prevail, Kotaro was victorious. The walls of the barrier were slurped back into the seals and they would sizzle with steam as they fell dormant and unusable. A pool of blacken blood lied underneath the dead mark that was targeted. Flesh missing down to the bone in some areas, the site was disgusting and the stench of ink mixed blood would nauseating. Walking over to the scene his epic play had created, Kotaro shook his arm moving the sleeve of his cloak up to his elbow. Crouchign down like an innocent child he poked a finger in pool of fluids and soon the pool would begin to lose volume and all that would be left behind was blood. The ink sucked back into Kotaro's body, as to not pollute the earth.

"Mission completed Garuda-Senpai! You're the only Garuda again for a while!" Standing up with a large grin he showed his sensei his happiness as he overcame the task without the mans help.

"Amazing Kotaro. You really have earned the title of my favorite student." Garuda would say as he slowly got up to his feet and put his hand on the boy's head. Nana sitting on Garuda's shoulder as he did this. He actually was really proud that Kotaro could take care of the so called legendary bird that had his name. Garuda would remove his hand from the top of the boy's head and look up at the sky, seeing that the sun was still high up there."You wanna take on anymore missions/ We have enough time for a few...or we could just do missions for the whole day till the morning if ya want." Garuda would say to the boy as he would start walking backward, the smell of blood from the kill he didn't do disgusted him a bit. Garuda reasons for wanting to go on some more, a lot more, missions with his student was because he felt it would be good training for the boy. And also he had nothing else to do. He had finished some much paperwork a few days ago that he didn't have anymore, well until tomorrow. Nana flew around him now as they waited to hear what Kotaro's response would be.

Kotaro was more than pleased with the praise he had received from his sensei. That commendation was actually enough to humble Kotaro for a portion of time, a very rare occurrence with Kotaro's arrogance. "Geez, you don't have to go and say all of that Senpai." One eye closed as the hand was placed on his head, the other was winced and peered at Garuda, then at the sky which he was looking at. The hand being removed, Kotaro came to his full height, which he didn't even know he was lightly crouching from Garuda's touch. Seeing nothing of interest, he wrote it off as old people dreaming or reminiscing as he looked back to the pool of blood and the corpse until Garuda offered Kotaro more of his legendary time. Had the boy died in the engagement and gone to a twisted heaven where his sensei and the peculiar owl existed? That didn't matter, dead or not, the Kotaro would jump at the offer, before Garuda could even finish his sentences. "Of course, lets do more missions Senpai!" Exhaustion from chakra use, wasn't even noticeable at this point, exuberantly digging in the chest section of his cloak, he pulled out a paper and shoved it in Garuda's face. "This!" He said, obviously enthused to continue.

Garuda would say as he looked at the paper Kotaro would hold up for him to see. Garuda in truth wondered why his genin student even had this mission, but really didn't care about the details. Garuda would stretch a bit before looking back at Kotaro." Lead the way Kotaro." He would tell his favorite student as he waited for him to start thier journey to the area the target was. Despite the smile on Garuda's face he kinda felt this was going to be the toughest mission Kotaro has gone on, if he hadn't gone on one more difficult then this. As Garuda was planning on taking out this guy personally this week as he felt he was going to be a great threat if left to do as he pleased.

Truth be told, the only way Kotaro had gotten the mission was by stealing it from a higher ranking ninja. He had been eyeballing the contract for some time, but the administration building and its workers obviously denied the boy the permission to take such a dangerous mission. So with the assistance of some of his mice and a bit of smooth talking, he got one of Iwa's Jounin to accept the mission, then afterwards he stole the contract from the man and smuggled it into his own possessions. "Yeaaaaaaah!!! I'll lead the way senpai, you think I'll be an Anbu ninja?!" Kotaro turned around and began walking backwards as he spoke to Garuda. His arms swinging in unison, with a jubilant smile displayed it was obvious he was in a good mood.

"Anbu? No way! You are too good to be used within the Anbu. Maybe if you worked hard enough you could be the Head nin or even Tsuchikage one day." Garuda would say as he rubbed his chin and looked up at the sky. The reason he said Kotaro shouldn't be within the Anbu was because he doesn't want the boy to have to witness the darkest lifestyle of a Anbu he once lived in. But to Garuda the boy had the skill he just didn't want the boy to have to witness some of the things that he had witnessed when he was younger and within the anbu, as he didn't many horrible things especially when he was Anbu Captain.

Too good for Anbu?! Kotaro was baffled at the words, but he let the assumed greater knowledge his sensei spoke solidify within his head as he shrugged off the dreams of being an Anbu ninja. He always wanted one of the cool mask and even one for each of his puppets, maybe be a one man squad consisted of only puppets. The thoughts again sparked his dream and lit the flame to make the child wanna grow stronger and become an Anbu ninja. He wouldn't tell Garuda, even if the Tsuchikage thought it was wasting Kotaro's skills, but the artistic vision painted out and some times even moving on a reel in his brain, kept him hungry for the position. Maybe even as an Anbu Captain, being Garuda's person guard and most trusted ninja, his right hand, leading the the Anbu underneath him, while securing the Tsuchikage's reign and safety. Big dreams, but they were achievable and the teen was hungry for success.

"Tsuchikage? . . . naaaah, that job doesn't sound fun to me. I wanna be an Anbu Captain so I can be your assistant, your right hand man Senpai, wouldn't that be cool?' The teen decided he'd share his desires with the Tsuchikage anyhow. Seeing how the man had that position before, it'd be best to let him know that's the spot Kotaro was aiming for. Reason for this being, because Garuda would be able to possibly guide him to where he needed to be to achieve that goal.

Since Kotaro really wanted to be in the Anbu and also become the Anbu Captain he would help the boy, but in time. As the boy still needed to witness somethings in his life before truly making a decision on joining the Anbu. Garuda didn't answer Kotaro about being his right hand man just yet because that was something he never thought of having, well not really needing one." O I guess it would be cool for you to be my right hand man someday....But you should really should just be trying to surpass me."

As the duo proceeded, it wasn't long before a desolate rocky area was stumbled upon, with boulders ranging from five feet high, to tiny pebbles all showered across the land. These were just decoration, though they could be used strategically if a battle were to occur, which one would, as a suspicions shack was also standing out on the hard turf. "He's probably in that shack, but to be safe, I'll send one of my puppets to approach." Grabbing the spool that held the length of raveled sealing paper on his Koi scroll, the boy hoisted it in front of himself and set it on the ground in front of him. One hand on the top of the wooden spool still, on the other end of the wooden rod, was the ground which it was balancing up right on, but only for a moment. Kotaro wondered which puppet to use in this time frame, Sasori or Koga. The humanoid could be used to fool the man if he were there, but only for a small amount of time, but maybe long enough to get the drop on him for an ambush. With Sasori, Kotaro could simply lure the man out then immediately engage in combat though . . . it was a hard choice, but kicking the medium sized scroll over the boy had made his choice. Using the foot to prod the scroll making it roll open in front of him, he stepped the same foot again on one of the sealing formulas. All in one fluid like motion, with the birth of silent smokescreen, Sasori the large scorpion shaped puppet was summoned. The deciding factor being the beast's defensive properties along with its offensive capabilities. With the mans lightning attacks Koga could easily be destroyed, but with more bulk and mass, Sasori could tank more malice.

"I'll move Sasori into position, you can assume a vantage point sensei and we can ambush him." With that, Kotaro would crouch himself down behind a rock, then move the gargantuan puppet over to the entrance of the shack and speak as Kotaro placed a hand on his throat. "Ryujin, of Iwagakure, I have a contract for your termination, please surrender yourself and this can end with you still alive." Not like the man would live if he came out peacefully or not, but the false sense of security maybe the ambush could be that much easier.
