Description: A simplistic but terrifyingly effective defensive application of the water element, with this ability the user will emit a layer of liquid from his body, the water flowing from his pores and extending away from his body, effectively creating a kind of clear shell of water, similar in shape to his original body, but hovering some six or so inches away from the caster’s body. This hovering barrier of water will persist for a short time, intercepting incoming attacks and affording a slight bit of protection to the wearer. In particular, the barrier, filled with a large amount of solutes, will redirect incoming lightning-based techniques, conducting them through the liquid barrier and allowing them to move harmlessly away from the user, blocking incoming assaults of A rank or lower. In addition to this, the water proves extremely useful in the face of intercepting fire based assaults, generally extinguishing those of A rank or lower as they strike the swift defense and lowering the effectiveness of others by two ranks. However, the defense will evaporate with the introduction of highly energized fire or lightning attacks [B rank or higher], resulting in the destruction of the barrier.
Weakness: Useless against any elemental attack outside of fire, lightning, wind, or some combination of those. Can redirect/extinguish one A or B rank technique or two C ranks of these elements (one rank lower for wind release). Useless against taijutsu or weaponry techniques (but can slow projectile weapons).

Description: A simple offensive maneuver of the water element, upon completion of the appropriate hand signs the user will craft, from a nearby water source or their gullet, a collection of up to five blades of compressed water, each measuring up to two meters in length and eight inches in width. These blades are then thrown towards the intended target, each moving at a speed equivalent to the user’s mastery over ninjutsu, intent upon piercing the flesh of the unfortunate target, the blades of highly compressed liquid easily capable of such a feat. Shortcomings notwithstanding, the blades offer a great deal of versatility, able to form from a multitude of angles and a variety of sources, including atmospheric conditions of high moisture, such as heavy fog, mist, or cloud cover.
Weakness: Ineffective versus most ninjutsu based or chakra enhanced barriers, particularly those of the earth release. While the blades can be directed, their trajectories cannot be altered mid-flight. Blades can move a maximum of 15m from their point of creation before fizzling out.
