Chikara Shurajo
Chikara always loved dogs, there really wasn’t a reason for her to hate the furry, sometimes naked, little things that could be your most faithful companion or a fearful adversary depending on how one decided to treat their pet. Cats on the other hand, she had no sort of love for but she didn’t hate them either. She found cats to be a bore compared to the energetic dog, cats being lethargic creatures from her limited understanding on the species. She liked an array of other animals as well, even exotic ones, which was a good enough reason to be here, taking care of the needs of the animals that resided within Kiri’s animal shelter. Apparently those who ran the place needed some help, for taking care the sheer number of animals they had was proving to be difficult and it wasn’t like people were lining up at the door to help. So of course the owner had resorted to posting up the problem on the mission board, and she just so happened to walk pass said board when said posting got her attention.
She knew, without contemplating the decision, that she would love to help out the animal shelter, for it gave her time to play with the adorable pets as well as help out. And she wasn’t really doing anything on this particular day, so here she was. At the moment, Chikara was cleaning the dog kennels, it having been tasked to her an hour or so after she had arrived, and what a terrible state they were in. She could tell that the care takers attempted to clean up, for some of the kennels were clean, but one could also tell that they had given up for the job had been left unfinished. So, taking up two buckets, a cloth, and a shovel, she tackled the job, emerging from the area an hour or two later, covered in, er, filth.
Yet never to fear, she was sprayed down, and lucky enough for her, she had brought a change of clothes, having known that she would need it for one reason or another. She did a couple of other jobs around the shelter before she was finally able to play with the animals, specifically the puppies. Chikara doesn't remember how long she had played with the little bundles of joy, but she knew she had a load of fun, and had even gone so far as to name some of the puppies. She would had stayed longer, but she had been called to man the front desk, to greet customers, show them what the shelter had to offer, walk them through the adoption process if they found an animal they wanted, and see them on their merry way. Quite a simple task, though one that had proven difficult for the pint-sized Genin. For one, the desk was taller than herself, so if anyone came, they would believe no one was around and leave. So, the youngling had decided that stand on a chair would give her some height, and it did though she had to be careful, it being one of those chair that swiveled about.
What the care takers were doing, she didn’t know nor did she really care. No, she had a job to focus on. She did wait for a while before customers would come in, she greeted them, showed them the selection of cats and dogs the shelter had, and when they desired to adopt one, she walked them through the process. And of course the process was boring, there being a lot of papers, but soon enough the lovely couple were out with the new edition to the family. Several others would come in, some adopting whilst others just looked. Albeit, soon enough the day was done and Chikara was dismissed. She promised to return to help once again before departing from the shelter, heading straight home with a smile on her face.
