Missions:

With no sensei to guide them and let alone the entire village in distraught Hitomi was left to suck it up and go on. She needed to get stronger, there wasn't a choice she just needed to so she could withstand other things to come. So even with the unbearable news she had to keep going. Her face now pales her old hidden face in comparison. She was beginning to understand how the shinobi world works but she'd need more than just that. Who knows what's to happen, only time can tell and being just an observer as she once was won't change anything.

For now she stood by the mission board with the two tasks at hand waiting for Rias. She had to trust him now, him and Syndra. Going alone would kill her, and possibly her family. She wouldn't bear the thought for a mere second. If her family was ever touched, she herself didn't know how she could handle that. For now she had chosen to trust them two. Syndra as another mentor and who has the information she needs to know, and Rias as a teammate and who could help aid her.

Even so with all that happened she didn't get much sleep thus she yawned from being tired. Not even the fresh wind that carried through the day was enough to keep her awake for long. In fact it was soothing her deeper to sleep. She was so serious about this task and yet to serious to care for herself. Ever soon she ended up sitting down by the board. Even sooner she started to fall into a daze and then just before she went to sleep her body pushed her to a bench nearby. That is where she began her sleeping.

The nap that usually she's so embaressed to call. Was really always her own fault. She trained harshly on herself, even through some nights. During the day she'd stay awake to observe others causing both sides of one mind to be training and never a moment's rest. Thus she'd end up asleep somewhere during the afternoon at times. It wasn't healthy but she felt it was necessary if she was to protect her family. Infact that's the only reason she was a shinobi. Not for the village, for her family alone. Somewhat selfish but she didn't care, she just wanted them to be safe. Whatever the cost...

The day was a bit hectic as Rias made his way to the rendezvous point. People were chatting about the attack on the village by the swordsmen of the mist and how the hokage faces were partially destroyed. The rebuild and recover effort had already begun as ninja and carpenters started to work on the damaged village. Although all of this was going on, Rias' mind was elsewhere and unfocused on the now. During the attack his sensei had perished in the line of duty, not long after he became a pupil of his alongside Shiruku-san. He was saddened by this but more-so on how his teammate was coping. He was happy to find out about her taking on missions because it was a sign. A sign that she was continuing on step by step. Rias smiled a bit as he leaped from building to building, trying to stay out of the way of those working on damaged ones. The next second his being flickered out of sight and reappeared on the street by the mission board.

"Hmm...I'm sure she said somewhere around here." Whispered rias as he glanced to his left then the right. There on a nearby bench he saw a happily sleeping Shiruku-san. At first sight his eyes raised in surprise, but soon lowered with a gentle smile on his visage. "Ah, she must be working hard...either that or we have more in common than I thought hehe." Whilst he made his way over to the bench, he took off the kimono that he wore like that of a cape and placed it lightly over her. Now standing with only the tan pants and ninja sandals in his attire, his upper body completely feeling the breeze that blew. Which it sorta always did as the kimono only partially covered his upper body with how he chose to wear it.

Taking notice of the tasks beside her, he began to get started with cleaning up as he made his way to the closest area that had been damaged. Once there he had noticed a few other ninja were helping out as well and decided to join them. A building had collapsed and was of need of looking through for any casualties or survivors. Approaching the huge heap of wood and stone, Rias clasped his hands together before pulling them apart thus creating a javelin of raiton. With a few quick and carefully placed slashes the a chunk of the debree was broken up and now capable of being moved. Another shinobi had moved a piece atleast three times his size with his strength alone which utterly surprised Rias as he moved to knock the remains out of his way. He had to keep a sharp eye out for any sign of life or...death. After half an hour had passed, the raven haired shinobi had tossed aside a cracked slab of stone that underneath was a hole in the wreckage. Jumping into the hole, he quickly noticed movement as something rushed up to him and grabbed hold of his pants. From the sound of it he could tell it was a child because of the size and sobbing. He had to get the kid out of here to make sure he/she wasn't hurt or anything. Picking up the child he made his way back through debree and up to where he handed the child to another kunoichi, who in turn took the little girl to a medic. Standing up on top of the heap as a silver haired shinobi made his way into the hole, Rias was glad that child was alive and wondered if Shiruku-san was awake yet.

She moved a bit from the kimono laid onto her but was soothed once more. She must have been very tired to keep asleep. Of course once he went off she slowly started to wake once more. She yawned for a moment before rubbing her eyes and not noticing the kimono at first. After a bit however she soon woke more as she sat up slowly she noticed the kimono. She wasn't sure what to make of it but noticed it was Rias's. She started to feel embarrassed as she realized she fell asleep.

Not to mention the kind offer he gave it made her all the more embarrassed. Though usually the ashamed embarrassment was to come it didn't, it was more of a embarrassment of emotions. She smiled calmly even with the bright blush and put it on her head letting it drape so it wouldn't touch the ground due to her smaller height. She looked around for where he could be. After all this was important to him, she had to return it. For a while she couldn't see around cause of her daze of sleepy eyes. Once they cleared up she finally could see better and noticed his hair at first.

She went to walk up to him but stopped in a much brighter blush. She had to find something to explain it. She got sawdust in her eyes? She slept on her face? Anything to avoid the blush. She soon hid her face into the kimono on her head. Pulling the sides across her face leaving her eyes open at the least to see. She did want to help out with the mission but blushing this much would just embarrass her more.

However she knew the damage of the faces collapsing was more important than some stupid personal problem. The wreckage was horrible, some cries were heard of still living people and children. Why is she standing there complaining in her mind about some stupid blush when people are dying under the rubble, not to mention the already dead bodies. But most she could do is heal the victims and grace the dead. "Here, your kimono...and..thanks." she said in a quiet tone to him.

The genin had taken a seat on the pile of rubble to take a breather from the work. Looking over the area he watched as the leaf ninja worked. Medics saving the lives of those they could, and those who were not able to be saved were covered in white sheets. Rias didn't even try to count the number that he saw. There were many injured that were being escorted by leaf genin and chunin to the hospital for treatment, most of them were not in any life threatening danger. If they were the medic shinobi here would have became treating them here, because you are supposed to treat the most heavily injured victim first. Sending someone who is losing large amounts of blood from arterial bleeding to the hospital would be a gamble as they might pass on the way there, so obviously it would make sense to treat them on the spot.

In other places leaf jonin were performing the job he held at the moment, searching through the collapsed structures for bodies whether they were alive or not. A body would be dragged out every now and then, it would be hard to survive a building breaking down on you. Rias' face was rather apathetic at the moment. He didn't bring his emotions into this area, he did not like death or rather he did not like the death of others. But his mind was not occupied by that as he looked up into the serene blue firmament. "The sky always looks peaceful...even when such things as this transpire." He merely whispered the words to himself as he pondered. ~Do the mist ninja usually act this way? Are they that kind of people? Were...Mom and Dad that kind of people?~ He bombarded his mind with question after question looking for an answer. Looking back through his memories, he had none of being in Kirigakure as he was just a baby then. But he could remember back to being on the countryside near the mountains not too far out from this village, his parents weren't bad people yet that is how he knew them as his parents... He had not a single memory as how they were as shinobi of the hidden mist. If they were the type of people that attacked the leaf, being their son wouldn't he be the same and just not know it? ~Am I?~

Soon his train of thoughts were interrupted by a chunin who tapped him on the shoulder. The break was over. Bringing himself to stand up he noticed something, his kimono in the crowd was being worn like a costume on Halloween. It perplexed him for a moment before he realized that it had to be Shiruku-san, which he thought of her doing so was cute. Then his mind went to a picture of her in her own kimono, luckily due to his calm demeanor a blush wasn't revealed. As she made her way closer to him for some reason she had decided to hide her face. Rias wondered why she would cover her face from him, and soon was reminded of how embarrassed she was of taking naps during the day. With that in mind as she offered back his kimono, he wanted to tease her some. "Ah, thanks Shiruku-san. So how was your nap? I was a little surprised to find you there sound asleep, heh." He had a big smile on his face as he playfully teased her a bit. "But really, I hope you feel more refreshed now. I guess it shows you're really working hard huh. Thats good. The big smile had soon shifted into his usual gentle and sincere expression. Rias was happy that Shiruku-san was moving forward so well. Now he was sure they were going to be able to get much stronger together. But first this mission.

She looked at him still freshly embarrassed then looked down feeling some shame. Even with the nonchalant way he explained that naps were fine she still felt shameful. Here people were dying or trapped under rubble and she was sleeping. "No, just hardly working..." she said in a somber tone looking down. She wasn't ashamed of others sleeping so much as herself. "I'm so weak." She said in a quiet voice towards herself before passing him by and heading to the mission.

She soon was confronted by the sight of the horrible mess that was itself. She could only fear what she might have to see whilst healing. She went off to the medical tents since the hospital would be to far for some. Whilst entering she saw people laying across the floor, either covered by the blankets to show end of life or bleeding through them to show near death. It was horrific, like standing in a graveyard unburied. So this was what they dealt with, it's not like she wanted to be a medical-nin anyhow, however she knew it was useful to know how to heal. Soon enough she was met by other medical-nin. "I am a novice Ijutsu user, are there paitients that I can work on for my mission?" She asked them, as they looked down to her before pointing out to a separate area nearby.

She bowed to them in thanks before hurrying off to the area. As she entered it she saw most of the patients there weren't as bad as she had seen. They did yell in pain however their injuries weren't as horrible. She must have been assigned to the less injured due to her lack of skill in Ijutsu. Thank god for that, she didn't know how she could handle worse off patients. Ever sooner she'd be face to face with someone to heal with that she readied her jutsu in case of anything.
