There wasn't much to describe about the scenery at this location, given it was just a desolate wasteland of sand. As far as the eye could see, endless drab tan grains, some accumulated into dunes and bowls, no structures were visible. A Jounin from Otogakure, Zanji Uzumaki, had been accompanying him his trip to Sunagakure, ironically the one who was originally supposed to go had failed to show, so this mission or journey would be for sheer diplomacy. Not much dilly dallying, but one could never plan on things going as they wished they would, so for now, Junpei was doing some personal training.
This period of time being a break point in their journey, Junpei had ventured off to a private area away from his Jounin traveling companion, what he was about to train wasn't a secret or anything, but it was simply something he wished to train in private.
So there he sat in the middle of the Land of Wind, in a meditative stance, reminiscing on his last training session with Doton, back in Otogakure's bamboo forest.
He exhaled deeply and paused for a moment as a sandy breeze punished the land for a moment blowing heated sand against his face. Opening his eyes, he used his hands to removed the gathered sand from his face and clothes, then he stood. He had only just begun getting the hang of the element and in the sand it would surely be a whole new battle. It was loose and it shifted like liquid, rather than behaving like normal earth, so this meant he would have to focus on the sand individually . . . seems like bullshit. His face crumpled up in minor irritation at the thought of approaching a task that seemed well . . . impossible, at least at his current prowess with control over the earth element. Thinking about it would only help him so much and at this point mental chatter would get him no further and it was only making him doubt his abilities, so out from the confines of his pink matter, he assumed the spread horse stance. Digging the two of his feet steadily into the sand allowing his feet to be buried.
Riling up his chakra reserves and letting them fester and swell up inside his body, he then unleashed them, but through his feet. This spread his life sources will onto the sand, but also into it allowing him to grasp some control of the speckles of the substance. But Junpei found it hard to manipulate each simple speck of sand, it was far to menial or intricate, especially for his measly level of control over the element, so he settled with large portions. Like slabs of stone the sand rose and not a single grain slipped from his grasp as his chakra worked to seemingly compact the loose substance.
A childish smile slid onto his face shamelessly as he looked at his progress, but soon enough the smile was forced into a closed eye wince as a strong wind skated harshly across the desert blowing his work to countless grains of debris.

Time being a man made concept, continued to flow and slowly the consciousness of the Daimyo was troubled at how much of the endless value had fled and slipped out of his fingers. Time that would never be regained. Time spent waiting on people who had decided not to arrive . . . no matter, they had more significant things to do rather than amuse Junpei as he tried to arrange a team of trusted shinobi. Instead, he would devote this time to perfecting himself, a task that even he knew was impossible, for nothing was perfect, but the Hozuki would get as close as he the deities above allowed. Pressing his hands against the cool stone surface of the boulder, he maneuvered the two of his feet forward in a kicking motion using the momentum to further propel himself off the stone boulder. What he would train was something he had intentions of doing during his extensive stay at Kumogakure, but he ended up perfecting his Fuuton based Jutsu first. That wasn't a mistake as those exact same jutsu are what shifted the battle in his favor back there.
Feet steady on the forest floor, he shuffled them more than normally needed as to slide the fallen leaves away to feel the earth. This would be the element he was focused on manipulating or at least getting a hang of manipulating. His toes curing up in his ninja tabi as to express his weight onto the earth's crust, he began first by bleeding out his chakra onto the ground. Akin to how one would allocated chakra into the soles of their feet, to water walk, Junpei would allow the earth to become accepting of his energy source. This was also so the Daimyo himself could become acquainted with the soil and the minerals and everything else that was bound together as solid elements to become "Doton".
Eyes closed, the world around him fell into a state of ethereal silence that could be disturbed with a single breath that didn't follow the syncopation of the lone soul that occupied the forest at this of day. Intangible energy that wasn't visible to any without eyes that were blessed stretched along the floor of the forest connecting with all of the life that lived in the earth and even feeling the slightest shudder of trees. Equipped wit a vast sea of chakra, the young Kage would now draw the source back into a more personal distance, feeling out the free manipulative abilities he possessed when he focused. Sensations of might and power, began to overcome his psyche as he felt the very ground beneath him tremble lightly as he flexed his chakra's will upon the land. Loose debris like pebbles would shudder against the ground as he did so, bouncing rapidly also causing the eyes of the wild life to shift away as they retreated in fear. It was a simple taste of the element, but the taste was enough to make Junpei eager to delve a bit further, but at another time. For now he would have to stop as time was pressed and someone was approaching. Moving back to his boulder, he waited for the being to make their presence a little more known to the Daimyo . . .
