The day was warm and welcoming, much to Lee's delight. It had been a while since he had experienced a warm day in Konoha, as it was slowly inching closer towards winter and its reprise of chilly breezes and cloudy skies. The young man didn't think too much of it, however, as he made his way towards the Konohagakure gates. He was wearing a pair of light blue denim overalls, with only a pair of black boxer briefs on underneath. He also threw on a black, small sunhat to accent his black shinobi sandals. He found this outfit most comfortable for traveling, as he would be doing quite a bit of it. His stomach growled, then, so he reached into his small backpack and pulled out a small package with bright letters. The japanese writing on the front read all sorts of boasts and brags about the delicious dried seaweed inside. The bag was split in two and he pulled out the tiny tray that held the snack. He hummed in delight as he placed one on his tongue and felt it almost melt there.
Simplicity was possibly the game Lionus was going to be playing these upcoming weeks. He had already spent a few days preparing for this trip, reading up about the history of these so-called legendary stories that have gone missing. The mission level was supposedly so dangerous that it was only for Jounin or higher rank to tackle. Lee, however, felt he had the intelligence and perception necessary to crack whatever mystery lie in wait. Possibly, he would meet his doom, but that's why he had also packed his anbu mask within his bag; to remind him his duty to the village. Lee tossed the trash away as he finished the salty food. He adjusted his headband awkwardly placed on his head as he came upon the large gates and walls that stood high above him. He smiled at passerby and a couple familiar faces as he reached the outskirts of the village.
'I believe it is fair to assume that the hokage hasn't arrived yet to allow me to leave the village. For now, the waiting game ensues...' Lee thought to himself. He leaned against a nearby wall and began to chat absentmindedly with the Chunin beside him with a small smile.
Eventually it grew late and it appeared that he would no longer being taking on this mission. At least, not any time soon. The hokage stood him up. He sighed to himself and was going to head back home when a hawk screech pierced his ears. In the light of the afternoon sun, a small brown hawk was descending quickly towards him. He recognized it as a carrier bird and held his arm out for it to perch itself gently there. Lee picked the scroll from off its back and unraveled it. He read through it quickly. It read a notice allowing him to leave the village and proceed with his mission. Apparently the hokage was too busy at the moment to meet with him in person. He found no fault in her actions, however, not having time to worry about something so petty. He simply turned from the village, blowing it a kiss and heading towards wherever his mission took him.
