How best to aid oneself in learning any type of new skill than to make connections with a preexisting skill, thus allowing one to grasp the new concept at a much quicker pace. From the beginning of Ōsharu's shinobi career this concept had become grasped and instilled into every training regime he partook in, this allowing him to master many different arts and staying true to the versatile teachings of those chosen to carry on the Kōkkai lineage. Sitting in the midst of Kirigakure's training grounds with his legs crossed underneath him, hands held in the tiger position, and his eyes closed, Ōsharu extended his chakra outward grasping a feel for the very earth beneath him. The level of mastery that he had achieved in Suiton Jutsu | Water Release Techniques had covered up many of the disadvantages and weaknesses that came with it, but one that the Mizukage could truly never overcome was the elemental disadvantage. For twenty-eight years this single element had proved most useful, the addition of another element would only open up new opportunities to him , thus, on this day he had chosen to make up for his weakness by tackling the second most abundant element of the world, Doton Jutsu | Earth Release Techniques.
To his left a scroll entitled "Guide to the Doton for Dummies" lay spread out, it's contents depicting a few of many things capable through the use of the element, a small asterisk had been placed next to a passage on the scroll describing getting in tune with nature. The three hours that Ōsharu had spent in this very spot among these grounds without the slightest muscle movement proved testament to learning this element, but some progress had been made by the slightest vibrations being picked up by young blue haired male.
"Ya know... this isn't half bad... A little meditation each day wouldn't be bad for me... Well, let's see how far we can push this can get into some jutsu later on..."
Pushing downward against the cool earth with both hands the man rose to his full height, although his eyes were still closed his perception of all things in contact with the earth had grown. Drawing in an ample amount of air threw his mouth and making sure to exhale through his nose, Ōsharu began to regulate his breathing, keeping calm at body and at mind. In one swift motion his right arm cocked back, his hands flat laid flat as they pointed toward the earth below, like a gun exploding his arm was thrust into the ground just below his elbow. Planting his feet shoulder width apart on the ground to have a better footing, Ōsharu began to attempt at removing his arm, though to no success.
"Ugh!? Crap! What the hell did I do wrong?.."
What was meant to be a private thought turned into a literal outburst, the sound of his voice catching the attention of a young boy coming into the area. The typical mist that obscured most shinobi's vision had previously had it's shaped change to a low rolling fog so as to enhance the Mizukage's meditative hours, now this only proved to bring his current situation into full light. Ōsharu watched as the boy crossed the training grounds popping numerous amounts of bubbles from his chewing gum, no attention had been made to the blue haired male with his arm trapped in the ground, but once the boy swiveled around eye contact was made. Things seemed to have stood still for a brief moment. In the midst of a big pink bubble being blown up in size so did the boy's eyes as he came to assess the situation. Without a single word exchanged between the two, the boy retraced his steps and exited the area.
"Wow... I really am hated as much as the press has been saying... Welp, nothing I can really do to change about this..."
Slightly enraged by the current events displayed at the training grounds and of the village that he as Mizukage had been dealing with, Ōsharu attempted once more to free his arm from the ground only this time using these new emotions as the fuel to his strength. His typically quiet demeanor was slashed wide open as his yells filled the area, following this was the sound of the earth crunching beneath him before his hand was thrust into the air, although altered from its' previous state. Increased almost triple in size and engulfed in chakra enriched earth, the Mizukage's entire proved much to be much heavier, but with time and practice this could be overcome. His arm was turned over in every way possible so as to fully examine the creation of his newest jutsu through the use of his newest element.
"Hmm... Increased durability, striking power, and defense? Parry on a few more attacks and I might have a formidable new attack series to fight with... I guess opposites do attract..."
With a clenched fist the Mizukage cocked his arm back once more and continued the motion through by punching into the earth. Rather than his limb being trapped by the earth, a smallish crater suitable due to the size and current state of Ōsharu's arm was left in his wake. A grin escaped him as he shook his arm and the pieces of the earth began to peel off like dried pieces of clay.
"Every bit of my existence will go into the protection of this village no matter the route I travel down... I'm the shinobi Kirigakure deserves, but apparently not the one it needs at the moment... No matter, I'll stay true to my beliefs until the very end..."
