Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Concern hadn’t been something that crossed the mind of Haruna Oshiro as she made the trek from the Kaguya Temple to Zabazu’s Hideout. Why should it? Chikara Shurajo was an ally, an individual who she had shown the criminal world to, and an individual who would be cutting ties with her village to travel the world with her. So, the Oshiro was totally unconcerned about anything, having not picked up anything odd about meeting at Zabuza’s Hideout. The Shurajo probably wanted to look over their plan once again, which the Oshiro was fine with. To leave Kirigakure without the Shurajo being hunted would require lots of planning, so it never crossed her mind that Chikara had called her down to the hideout for an entirely different reason.

She continued the trek to the hideout, humming that ominous tune associated with a song that her mother had frequently sung to her when she was really little. Haruna had forgotten the lyrics to the song, for it had been a while since she had heard it and the song was quite forgettable, but she would never forget the melody. She grinned as she continued to hum, only ceasing when she finally arrived at the hideout. She entered, the sound of her heels clicking against the concrete floor bounced off the concrete walls, eyes sweeping over the area looking for a particular red-haired protégé. “Ah. Chikara-chan, there you are,” Haruna would exclaim upon spotting the Shurajo. “What did you call me here for? I do hope it isn’t a change of plans, though I can live if the change is very small.”

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

Chikara knew what she had to do the moment she found out that she had a younger sister, there was no contemplating the decision. No matter how much she had grown to loathe the village known as Kirigakure, she had a duty to protect the red-haired child who had shown up on her doorsteps a week prior. Despite knowing nothing about the younger Shurajo, she felt connected to the child by blood alone and that tie far outweighed the connection she had made with the Oshiro who had served as her connection to the criminal world. She would change for her sister and she would right the wrongs she had committed whilst she had plans to cut ties with Kirigakure, and the first step was getting rid of a kid who could pose a threat in the future.

Sure, she could simply tell the Oshiro that she had second thoughts and that she wouldn’t be turning her back on Kirigakure, but that allowed Haruna to live. That and she didn’t want a volatile kid who may seek revenge upon her in the future running amok and getting stronger. She may as well take care of the Oshiro now rather than later, she could clean up any old connections later on. So when she had invited the Oshiro over to the Zabuza Hideout, it was to murder the child under the pretense of a tweak in their plan. She had garnered enough trust from the blonde female that she wouldn’t be suspicious, at least she hoped so. She didn’t feel like tracking down the Oshiro just because she sensed that something was off, for it would take a while to track down the blonde which gave her ample time to escape.

Yet, it seemed like she didn’t have to worry about the chances of the Oshiro not showing up, for the sound of shoes hitting concrete echoed about the room. She knew without looking up that the Oshiro had arrived, this being confirmed when Haruna uttered her name. The Shurajo looked up, eyes locking onto the blonde child who had served as her teacher for a short amount of time, and she had been briefly sadden that she would have to take her life but a single thought of Shinku had her shoving the feeling away. Shinku was much more important than the brief friendship she had shared with the Oshiro, family was much more important.

She pushed herself from the wall, folding her arms across her chest as she continued to stare at the Oshiro. Silence fell between the two, neither speaking as Haruna waited for Chikara to respond and Chikara continued to assess Haruna. Finally, with a click of her tongue, she would smile at the Oshiro before taking two steps forward. “There has been a change of plans, I regret to say Haruna,” Chikara said, cocking her head to the side. “You see, recently a child proven to be my little sister has surfaced and the thought of leaving her behind is something that I cannot handle. I refuse to make her a criminal because of my hatred for Kirigakure, and thus I had been left with one decision.” Chikara paused, allowing for her words to sink into Haruna’s brain before continuing. “I have decided that I shall remain within my home and tolerate what I have grown to hate for the sake of my sister, who knows maybe with her assistance I can learn to love Kirigakure and its people once again. Yet that brings us to a rather nasty predicament.”

Chikara took another step forward, straightening her head. “You,” she uttered, her arms dropped to her sides. “You see Haruna, the thought of you running amok with absolutely no supervision is something that I cannot bear. Especially when you can pose quite a threat in the future, not only to myself but to Shinku and Kirigakure as well. And since you have information about some activities that I shouldn’t had been doing, well let’s just say the option of allowing you to continue on with your life had immediately been thrown from my head.”

One more step was taken as Chikara smirked at Haruna. “Do you know what that means?”

Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Technique:
Haruna had remained quiet while Chikara talked, throughout that smile of hers dropping for her face and her hands balling into tight fist, her nails threatening to draw blood. She was angry, quite clear from the way her body shook, barely able to restrain herself from leaping at the Shurajo and wringing her neck. She was waiting for the red haired child to say that she had just been kidding and that nothing had really changed, but she hadn’t and thus she knew the Shurajo was serious. The Oshiro took a second to compose herself, taking deep breaths to calm herself down. Her hands would unclench and her shaking would stop, her left hand was placed upon her hip as she cocked her head to the side, a sinister smile upon her face.

“You are going to kill me?” She said mockingly, chuckling and shaking her head, as if this was the funniest thing she had heard. “That’s very funny, Chikara. I would had never thought you capable of killing somebody who had guided you, making good on their deal that they had struck. I hadn’t thought you capable of betrayal, so much to the point that I hadn’t seen this coming. But…” Haruna trailed off, eyes drifting to the left before locking back on Chikara’s crimson orbs. “I am sorry to say that I shall not be dying today. And if I do, I am taking you with me.” With those words spoken, her hands flew up to form the ram seal before clasping together. Without a moment of hesitation, she pulled her hands apart, revealing the light blue electrons associated with her, it in the form of a lance. She took ahold of the weapon, giving it a good spin before prepping herself to throw it.

She could see Chikara’s body tensing, and with a devilish grin upon her face, Haruna threw the lance. The two had been probably standing five meters of each other, and thus the spear would land in-between the girls. Yet she hadn’t aimed for the middle on accident, no she had done that on purpose for she desired the effects of the lance that missed. She wanted the hideout destroyed, and the explosion would do, for it may only be strong winds but such winds were capable of mass destruction when in an enclosed space. Lucky her, the door was only a good two meters from her position, so she had done well to utilize it. No reason to die because a bunch of rubble fell on her. She couldn’t say the same about Chikara, for what she could see, escaping the blast radius would be a futile attempt. She had been up against a wall, and from what she could tell there was no other means of escape.

So when Haruna flew out of the room, she wasn’t expecting for Chikara to live, for the blast would not kill her but the falling tons of concrete would. She spun on her heel, flicking her blonde hair before scoffing. “Stupid kid. Should have killed me while you had the element of surprise. Too bad you didn’t utilize it,” Haruna said, before she would proceed to walk away from the scene. A mistake on her part for she should had known that that wasn’t going to kill a Shurajo.

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

Techniques:

Chikara knew that the Oshiro who stood before her wouldn’t be all too happy about the prospect of death. Only one who would be overjoyed at dying are those who actively seek death, and Haruna certainly wasn’t the sort of person who sought the comfort of death. So when her former companion shook in rage at the words that had been spewed by her, she didn’t hold the reaction against her. She did well to contain her anger, that was something the Shurajo had to admit, but she had a feeling that she would be feeling the full brunt of the Oshiro’s wrath. But that was of no matter to the Shurajo, for she had every intention of winning, it was the only option available to her.

Silence had fallen between the two prepubescent girls, one waiting for the other to react whilst the other seemed to be in deep thought. Yet soon enough the older of the two would speak, she spoke mockingly but with venom in her voice, and she knew right there that this fight would be much harder than she had initially anticipated. Yet the fear had never crept on the Shurajo, kept at bay for she may not have fought somebody of Haruna’s caliber before, but she felt like she could handle her. Once the female had finished saying her piece, Chikara watched as her hands flew up to perform the ram seal, clapping her hands together before pulling them apart to reveal a light blue lance.

Her body tensed, though not of her accord, her mind racing as she knew the Oshiro had every intentions of throwing that lance. And though she may not know of the effects of that particular Ninjutsu, she knew enough about Haruna’s bloodline to know that she had little desire to get hit by it. As the Oshiro prepped herself to throw the lance, Chikara’s own hands flew up to perform a seal associated with Earth Spear. She was quite happy to have the technique in her reservoir, for it did well to increase not only her defensive capabilities but her offensive ones as well. As the lance was launched and Haruna made her way out of the building, Chikara quickly spun on her heel, striking the wall behind her. The wall would crumble, allowing a means of escape for which she gladly utilize, for being outside was a far better option than being crushed by the collapsing building.

The winds may not have been powerful on their own, but in an enclosed space the building didn’t stand much of a chance. The howls of the raging wind reached her ears, and she watched as the building collapsed, small pieces of rubble being tossed about until the wind died down. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the Zabuza Hideout was no more, or at least nothing more than rubble now, but the Shurajo wasn’t going to worry about it nor would she miss it. No, there was more pressing matter to attend to. She bent her knees, eyes narrowing before she launched herself forward. Chikara didn’t spare the remnants of the hideout a single glance, flying over the debris as if it was of no concern, which it wasn’t. Eyes searched for Haruna, locking onto the Oshiro’s retreating form upon locating her.

She landed silently, giving herself a powerful push that launched her straight towards Haruna, and without warning the Shurajo would lash out at the Oshiro with a powerful kick to the torso. Now, if the Oshiro hadn’t anticipated her survival, she would find herself airborne, though only for a little bit for she would make impact with a tree, forcing the air from her lungs. If the Oshiro moved out of the way, Chikara would fly right pass her, but the Shurajo would be in the Oshiro’s way. Either way, Chikara would smirk at the Oshiro before uttering the words, “I am not dead.”

Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Technique:
She should had known that killing a Shurajo would be much more difficult than collapsing an entire building on top of them, especially when she knew this particular Shurajo was very resourceful and cunning. Yet her arrogance had not allowed her to wait a few seconds to see her former red haired protégé turned future murderer emerge from the destroyed hideout. Even more so, she hadn’t expected the powerful kick that she would receive to her left side, sending her flying though not very fair. Her only warning had been the single glance she had gotten from her periperhal vision, and with no time to react, she had been sent flying. She would not be airborne for long though, her back smashing into a tree, something which removed the air from her lungs and had her crumble to the ground. The pain in her side as well as her back overloaded her senses, and she felt like that kick had managed to break a rib or two. Haruna was, at that moment, quite happy that she had decided to build up her body physically, for if she hadn’t the tree would had most definitely broken her spine and thus leave her unable to move.

Doing her best to catch her breath as well as ignore the pain throughout her body, Haruna hadn’t glared at the smug Shurajo like she normally would had done. Instead, she closed her eyes, grinding her teeth as she thought about what she should do. Continuing to stay put wouldn’t bode well for her chances of survival, and she had a feeling that the Shurajo would be taking extreme measures in order to put her down. With death not being in her personal cards, she steeled her nerves and pushed herself onto her feet. Her eyes were now open, watching the approaching Shurajo, waiting for her to get into a good enough distance before her hands flew up to form the ram seal. Something that she had always found good about her reservoir was the fact that most of her techniques started the same way, which helped to confuse the opponent. So when she performed the ram seal, she felt like Chikara would believe that a lance would be coming her way, but instead five disc would be flying her way.

They would deal insignificant damage to the Shurajo, but it would make do as a distraction as she prepared to perform Lightning Cascade.

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

The devastating blow that wouldn’t have been so devastating if Chikara hadn’t been covered head to toe in her Earth Spear, had sent Haruna flying straight into a thick tree. The crunching sound she had heard, and the feeling of bone giving away as she had kicked let the Shurajo know that she had definitely broken something in the Oshiro’s body, specifically she had broken a rib or two, or maybe she simply cracked them. Either way, the Oshiro would need some time to recuperate from the cracking or breaking of her ribs and the stingy pain in her back, for she hadn’t hit the tree all to softly. The Shurajo watched as the Oshiro crumble to the ground after the impact, and a soft sound of satisfaction escaped pass her lips.

A smirk crossed her face, her left hand rested upon her hip, and for a few seconds the Shurajo would watch the still form of the Oshiro. She was looking for movement, knowing full well that the Oshiro wouldn’t be out because of a simple kick, no matter how enhanced it had been or unprepared she had been. That, and the Shurajo knew that the Oshiro recovered from pain relatively quick, something that she had been envious of though no longer would be for the Oshiro had done well to ensure that the Shurajo could recover quickly during their training sessions.

Seeing how the Oshiro seemed to be doing nothing more than attempting to catch her breath, the Shurajo proceeded to close the gap between herself and her opponent. She watched closely as the older female hauled herself onto shaky legs, and even closer when those hands form the ram seal. Her eyes narrowed, for she knew very well what the Oshiro was going to do, and without further prompting she halted her advances, placing weight onto her legs before leaping up and forward with a strong push, effectively dodging the light blue discs. Landing on the ground, now three of four feet from Haruna, Chikara prepared to kick the Oshiro, but unbeknownst to her, she would be receiving quite a nasty shock and her Earth Spear wouldn’t help her at all.

Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Technique:
Electricity radiated off the form of Haruna Oshiro, having begun mustering up a large amount of her chakra for Lightning Cascade, a process that was sped up thanks to her KKG. She may had performed the hand seal, but waiting a couple minutes whilst she gathered the necessary chakra while time was of the essence wouldn’t bode well with her chances of survival. Sure, she would be using an extra amount of chakra to speed up the process, cutting the waiting time in half, but it would be well worth it in the long run. Unlucky for her opponent, she had never been made privy to this aspect of the Oshiro’s KKG, and since the Shurajo had been clearly bent on breaking a couple more of the Oshiro’s ribs, she wouldn’t had noticed the electricity until it was too late.

Haruna watched as the Shurajo involuntarily rigid, her muscles would be contracting thus making her rather uncomfortable, and her brain would be receiving mix signals. On top of all that, there was the damage she would receive from the electricity itself, and since she had covered herself in earth chakra, well the damage the Shurajo received would only be amplified. Good for the Oshiro, bad for the Shurajo albeit the condition of the Oshiro was the only thing that mattered to the Oshiro. Her friend had become nothing more than a traitor within her mind, and thus she wasn’t worried about the Shurajo nor the condition she would be in once Lightning Cascade was done frying her.

Soon enough the technique would be over, and with no danger of being caught in her own technique, she was still working out the kinks, Haruna was free to move. And she moved quickly for she didn’t know how long it would be before Chikara regained control of her muscles and thus retaliate against her. Sure, she should kill the girl right here and now, but with ribs that could be cracked or broken, and not knowing how long it would be until the kid could move of her own accord, she decided that she would hightail it out of the area, but this time whilst keeping an eye on the Shurajo. It was at this moment that she regretted building up the Shurajo’s tolerance to pain, but she had been blinded by the prospect of being apart of a group to notice that her protégé was quite capable of betrayal. She should had actually seen it a mile away, for if she had been willing to betray her village than she would had been willing to betray anyone, but she would kick herself over her foolishness when she was safe.

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

Techniques:

Pissed wouldn’t be the right word to use when describing the mood Chikara was in. Furious on the other hand was, and perhaps just a little more murderous than she had been at the start of the fight. Being electrocuted would do that to somebody, especially when one ends up on the ground having uncontrollable muscles spasm, which hurt by the way. Focusing her anger on the face of the Oshiro would do the Shurajo some good, and thusly so when she stopped writhing on the ground as well as manage to push herself onto her hands and knees, pouncing upon the Oshiro seemed only fair. Yet with the Oshiro’s eyes on her, Chikara knew that the slightly older female would retaliate.

Yet being a child soldier, Chikara knew how to utilize the tools she had and to her knowledge, she had two techniques in her Jutsu library that would allow for her to go undetected by the Oshiro. At least, for a little bit, albeit by time the girl raised her hands to form the hand seals for sensing, she would find herself buried neck deep in the cold, hard earth. Towering over her would the Shurajo, who was clearly displeased in every sense of the word. Kneeling down so that she may punch the living daylights out of the Oshiro better, Chikara raised her arm, smirking before her fist connected with the face of Haruna. A cry of pain came from the eldest of the two girls, and that only made the Shurajo smile even more.

Blow after blow was unleashed upon Haruna’s face, to the point that when Chikara finally stopped, having been exhausted, the Oshiro had slipped into the depths of unconsciousness, her face bloodied. Catching her breath, the Shurajo stood up, glaring down at the Oshiro before sighing deeply. She should leave the body right there, but she knew that would prove a mistake and thus she dug the body from the ground. Hoisting her onto her back, the Shurajo would head to the only place suitable enough to host a body in secret, that being the Kaguya Temple.
