Oboro

avatar

The sun shined down on the land of Otogakure as the leader decided that once again he would be meeting his brother to perform a few more of the D Ranked missions. Not only did it strengthen the bond between the two, it gave them each a good bit of pay. On top of that, it helped the village immensely as the village too brought in money and was tidied up in the process. Oboro was considering requiring the ninja within his village, including the upper levels, to perform a few D rank missions every now and then. However, it seemed the consensus of the village was appreciation of a lack of definite rules set upon them like in other villages. The only real rule was that people were not allowed to kill each other unless a reason was given. While that was indeed a very broad statement, he trusted his ninja to make the right decision when push comes to shove. Most of the sound ninja seemed to somewhat have a sound head on their shoulders. They generally knew what to do should a violent occurrence happen. However, there were a few that he questioned if they would indeed be able to asses the situation properly. Ryu Yamakazi was one of the people he wondered about. The boy seemed to have quite a hot head on his shoulders when it came to anything provocative. Nonetheless, he surely wouldn't do something to purposely get on the bad side of the Otokage. Many didn't realize just how stressful his job really was, forcing himself to worry about invasion every single day despite his craving to relax and feel safe in his sheets. This was a luxury that leaders were not allowed. And god forbid that he do something wrong. Surely he wouldn't hear the last of it from the grumpy women who always found something to complain about. It wasn't a wonder that most of them were single. It made him value his relationship with Akira even further. She was such a delicate, beautiful flower in a midst of people that were so undesirable to the man. Before meeting her, he hadn't even considered taking a wife. However, now he wanted to wed the girl despite the fact that he hadn't told her this. As a leader of the sound village, there was a strong chance that he would be slaughtered without reason and so, he worried about her mentality and whether or not she was comfortable with marrying someone who could die at any time. However, in reality anyone could die at any moment. An astroid could fall from space and drill through any of our skulls at any moment, ending it all for us. There were so many uncertainties of life and this was just one of them. However, he didn't like to think much of all the toxicity in the world, it brought him down when he was feeling good. Just as he was feeling good today, these negative thoughts would only cripple him mood before he had even opened his eyes.

The sun blasted down on his pupils as his eyelids separated themselves slowly, allowing the sticky lashes to break apart as his skin cells grasped at the sift sheets caressing his body. The thread count was ridiculously high, causing the sheets themselves to feel like layers of lotion formed into a blanket. They made his pupils dilate slowly. His pet tigers paw batted against his leg as he moved in his sleep. The claws left a little scratch on the upper thigh of the man, though he didn't mind too much. He was practically immune to the scratches of the tiger at this point considering he was the victim of one just about every day. It got old, but Hobbes provably needed his claws to do tiger things. Though, due to his domesticity, Hobbes didn't really do tiger things all too often. Other than hunting his own food, there was very little the feline did when he wasn't on missions with the Uchiha. The two made quite a team despite the fact that Hobbes rarely did anything other than watch. That was simply because he was still a little runt, though he was getting a lot larger, likely weighing in at about fifty pounds now. That's a big difference from the ten that he weighed when the two first met. Not to mention the fact that he was now a C Rank pet. That was admirable feat considering there were only two in the village. However, the other was an owl owned by his brother. Garuda's relationship with Nana seemed rather similar to that of his own with Hobbes. The two brothers cared deeply for their pets given that they were primary partners. Hobbes would have his use one day. The tiger was actually capable of learning Jutsu, however Oboro hadn't decided which he wanted the feline to learn. Nor had he decided what elements he wanted the cat to have. Either way, now wasn't the time. He had to get out of bed, get clean, get dressed and get out the door so he could meet up with Garuda and do some more damned D rank missions. The two would be switching up today in likes of not getting so bored with everything going on. Doing the same missions over and over again would likely get extremely boring, but by rotating, perhaps they would get bores half as fast. Even if it didn't, it seemed like a legitimate plan. Hopefully it wouldn't get boring at all, but Oboro was never one to have much patience. He would rather be out doing big missions for the village, but there wasn't really too much to do ever since he became the Otokage. If he went to another village in attempts to act as recon, he would have to get an extensive chakra transformation Jutsu in order to mask himself accurate. Though, no one in the other villages really knew his face or chakra signature and so if he wanted he could likely get in with little hassle.

He finally managed to convince his brain to allow him to rise from the sheets as the fell off of Hus body. He rubbed his eyes as he stretched his shoulders, allowing his skin to shiver appropriately as the wind fell upon his skin. Everything felt as pleasant as possible as he stood, allowing his manhood to hang. He never really liked wearing clothes to bed too much, he much liked sleeping in the nude over it. Should it be his choice, clothes wouldn't be a social normality of the world, though he supposed they were probably there for protective reasons. He walked about ten steps to his bathroom which was on the other side of his house, opening the glass door before stepping inside. After twisting the handle clockwise, the shower head began to rain warm water onto him, washing away all the filth from the day before. But not just physical filth such as dirt and grime, no. A shower was a symbolic conscious cleansing for the Uchiha. Something about the waters made him feel good again, as if nothing wrong had ever happened. It washed him of his sins in a sort of way. Though, all good things must come to an end, or at least that's what Oboro thought as he forced himself to turn the personal rain off and step from the tub, allowing the cold air to hit his warm body. This caused goosebumps to creep across his skin as well as to make his nipples stiffen. He would step into his room and grab his regular outfit, placing it on his body to resist the cold before dragging Hobbes out of the bed and across the tile floor and eventually out the door.

Luckily, Oboro lived rather close to the administration building. Oto wasn't really a huge village, they were actually seen as one of the weakest. The thought made Oboro scowl slightly. Would he be able to defend the village should there be intruders? He needed to talk to Shinsui some time soon about setting up traps around the village. As they were now, all they had were walls. They wouldn't hold very well should a ninja of high caliber raid. However, hopefully the ninja in the village would be able to withstand a barrage from another land. That was why Oboro had to get stronger. He and Sabo as well as Shinsui seemed to be the only ones serious enough to protect the village. They were the ones out doing odd jobs to maintain the small home of theirs. They wouldn't let it fall so easily. However, that being said, Oboro would not die so easily. Should there be no other option, he would surrender. He couldn't leave Hobbes. He couldn't leave Akira. He grit his teeth as he passed his old, worn down home on the way to the administration building. This was all to overwhelming to think of. For now he needed to focus on his duties.

As he arrived in his office or rather his second home, he did not see his brother. Perhaps he had already showed up and left or hadn't even made his way here yet. Either way, Oboro would pick the five missions he didn't get before, allowing his brother to get the opposite. It seemed that the first job on his list of activities was to deliver a note or letter of sorts. He would ask his secretary for that immediately, and she would hand it to him without any issues. The letter was actually addressed to the Otokage, so this was possibly the easiest mission that Oboro had ever gone on. He decided to take it to his office which was right up the marble steps, down the hallway and through the oak wood doors. As he made his way up the steps, he didn't place his hand on the hand rails, though he did walk leisurely as he wasn't in any sort of a rush. It was likely that his brother considered this a competition, but Oboro however didn't see it this way. This was more like a day to waste time, allowing him to relax and meet up with his Garuda afterwards for a drink as they always did. Or would always do at least. It seemed as if the two were beginning to make traditions. He enjoyed spending the time with kin, but he wasted a lot of time just thinking about things such as these. In reality, it couldn't be helped, or that's what he decided as he shrugged to himself. He continued walking up the stairs with his right hand on the wall to the right of him. Its smooth rocky feeling kept him stable, not for support but for sanity. There was something about textures of surfaces that just made him curious. Why were they so consistent? Each substance with similar qualities generally consisted of the same feeling, voiding things of individuality should they share a specific set of atoms. Though, he couldn't fix it, it did give him an in genius idea for a Jutsu so simple but it could work.

As he finally reached the top of the stairs, he kept his hand on the wall as he made his way to the doors, allowing his fingertips to slowly learn the content of the surface they were touching. He did the same for the knob to his door, caressing each and every centimeter present, mentally analyzing what he was feeling. He didn't stay long however, making his way to his desk to lay down the letter, however he then decided to read the note rather than simply place it on the desk. It read:

Dear Mister Uchiha,

We've noticed you're the new possessor of the village hidden within the land of Sound. Further known as the Otogakure, we have been informed that you have chosen to change the title of Daimyo to the ninja referred to as Shinsui Raikan. However, the previous Daimyo, Zanji Uzumaki has still not been discovered. There is suspicion among some if the sound citizens that he was assassinated. While I personally refuse to feed into these claims, I would like to hear from you. I am interested in your opinion on the matter and whether or not you would like to issue a formal search. Aside from that, congratulations on your promotion to Otokage. May the Otogakure prosper.

Sincerely,
Rana Makina
Makina Clan Head

Fair enough... He would be sure to write the man back as soon as he was back in office. Though, while he would indeed issue a formal search to clear suspicion, he would have to hide the corpse of the previous Daimyo. Should it be discovered in his room, well he could easily be impeached. That wouldn't be good, especially after everything in the village was going so well. Perhaps the people wouldn't even mind. Zanji wasn't exactly a beloved Daimyo after all. He barely did anything and at most was more of a figurehead than an active ruler. Oboro had done more in a week than Zanji did ever. However, he wasn't going to mentally rant to himself about how good of a leader he was, that would be extremely egotistical. Instead, he would make his way back down the steps of his office and continue his day with Hobbes close behind him. Next he would be tending to the likes of some animals. Perhaps they weren't as graceful as a tiger, but a few dogs, luckily all in the same neighborhood, needed to be walked. Thank God Hobbes was able to get along with other animals, because this day would be literally impossible should he be unable to tolerate them. The majority if his missions today were animal related. Technically they would all be if you included Hobbes.

As he walked to the neighborhood, the breeze caught his hair, allowing it to flow in the breeze. Looking down, he noticed Hobbes too was enjoying the breeze, smiling at the air hitting him in the face. It was a short walk to the neighborhood with all the pups, so it was more leisure than normally. However, upon arriving at each of the houses, most of the dogs seemed to be extremely hyperactive, almost as if they hadn't seen a new person in quite some time. Or perhaps all dogs were like that. Oboro himself hadn't truly been around too many. The only animal he spent extensive periods of time with was Hobbes. And it was clear based on the girth of the pet owners that the animals themselves in reality didn't get out too much. They were likely very out of shape and wouldn't last very long on a walk and so he would simply orbit in a circle around the neighborhood, just waiting for them to exhaust themselves. This obviously wouldn't take very long. Considering two of the dogs were called huskies, they didn't make it far. Oboro had heard that huskies generally were stronger than most dogs but these ones with round bellies weren't doing much for him. The bigger dogs were very tasking at first considering he didn't wish to hurt them, however he was able to contain all of them by their leashes simply with one hand after no longer feeling bad for the brainless creatures. He was so happy he picked a kitten over a puppy like Shinsui had. He began to wonder exactly how satisfied his brother was with an owl before returning all of the mutts back to their home.

Now he had to go visit a barn and clean up a few horses after feeding them. They were located just outside of the gates so it wasn't very hard getting to them. Considering Hobbes could now use Chakra, he was able to climb up the wall with Oboro and so the two went vertically over the wall instead of passing through the gates like a scrub would do. Just below was the barn. The thing itself was red with white trimming, as he always thought of when picturing a barn. Only two horses were present at the time and a note was posted on a post near them. The hooves of the mares needed to be cleaned out after they were fed. Apparently there was lots of grass and pebbles present in their shoes. While he wondered where the pebbles came from, he couldn't ask the note any questions. He would simply go over and lift a rather large bag of horse feed and cut out a slit in the top before pouring the feed into a bucket with a handle on the back. HD gave each horse about ten minutes each before lifting their legs one by one and picking out the dirt and rocks with the same kunai.

His last mission was to patrol the village and so he did so, greeting citizens as he went along. Hobbes and he took a leisurely stroll from the farm, to the top of the walls, all the wat around the walls, and straight to the bar where he would once again meet up with his brother for a drink and the completion of his day. He would give his stressed joints a rest so that he could relax with his brother and sip away a bit of sake, though not enough to give him a buzz of any sort. Just enough for the taste in his mouth. He would sit at the bar with his brother and chit chat about what the two had done that day while he fwd Hobbes some cashews from the bar. The tiger seemed to enjoy the salty food and ate them rapidly until Oboro stooped feeding them to him and began eating them himself. Such a fat cat. Either way, he was happy to spend time goofing off with the last bit if family he had. Garuda was the last person connected to him. And he was okay with that.
