Getting Stronger and Stronger [Training] [Axel/Yuuji]

Today Axel was out in the training field hoping to learn some new jutsu like always. Before he began using up his chakra though, the young chunin started with some basic exercises, such as jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, and even running a few laps around the whole field. As he ran, Axel noted several other ninja training as well, using various elements against training dummies and sparring partners. Some even came at eachother with killing intent for even more intense training. Axel was interested in all of these different forms of training, and later on he wanted to test them out himself. After he was done running, he began to loosen up his chakra by clapping his hands, and kept them touching eachother. Axel could feel the chakra flowing in his body now, and was ready to train for a jutsu. Now he had to figure out which one he wanted to train for. After a few minutes of thinking, he decided to learn an Earth Release jutsu, so he went around the field analyzing the shinobi that used earth jutsu. After a few more minutes, the chunin saw one that he liked, called Earth Release: Earth Shore Return, where the user summons a wall of earth to protect himself. Axel found a spot that seemed good enough for earth jutsu, and began learning.

"Hmmm, all I have to do is slam my hands on the ground? Ok, let's try," Axel said aloud, then he did exactly what he had to. Once his hands touched the ground, chakra leaked out of his body. What was supposed to happen was 5 meters of earth beginning to stand up right in front of him, but Axel could only bring up 1 foot, which meant that he had to practice even more. Several more times the chestnut-haired boy tried, and every time he was able to bring up more earth, but it wouldn't help until it was able to cover his entire body. He had to try in different places since every time, the earth was not in a condition to be used anymore.

"How long does it take to make a freaking wall made of earth?" Axel asked aloud, sitting down in exhaustion. He was able to to get a wall of earth up 3 meters tall, but he wanted it to go to the limit to ensure his safety. Worn out, but ready to get the job done, Axel got back up and tried more and more and more, and after 20 more minutes he got to 4 meters. He needed to get 5 meters in a few more tries though, due to his chakra supply running short, so Axel tried even harder, until eventually he had completely mastered the jutsu.

"Finally, I did it!" Axel shouted with his hands in the air. His body then began to fall to the ground, and he went unconscious due to his body needing rest. After an hour, he woke up, and feeling much better, Axel decided to learn more jutsu.

Yuuji The Mask of Kohona  As the time passed from his parents death, Yuuji had slowly regained himself into a healthier state, he attempted to sleep and attempted to eat, still having the state of depression here and there where he has yet to comes to turn with it, but one thing he hasn't tried doing again is training, as he awoke after a few hours sleep he quietly sighed before getting dressed and preparing himself with a few morning routines such as push-ups, sit-ups and whatever else he had felt like doing before leaving the empty house behind him. "Everything just feels so difficult, I can barely be bothered to leave the house as it is, even the routine was sloppy, who knows how my fighting will be." Yuuji stuck in his into his pockets as he made his way along the streets, people giving him the occasional stare and whisper, some others still offering their sympathy over the tragic event, all he really wanted was them to shut up about it, the sooner he could forget it, the better he would be. After a short walk Yuuji had finally made it to the training grounds he stood there for a few moments, watching some of the other nin practise their skills, some were impressive where as some where the complete opposite, he then saw someone familiar it was the boy who was on his squad for the exams, yet he couldn't quite remember his name, he shrugged carelessly and decided this is who will be the one for practise today, as he approached Axel from behind he quickly ducked into a spining low kick to throw Axel off balance, not to do any harm just to get his attention more or less, but instead of letting Axel fall if the strike were to hit, he'd grab him by the clothes and would start dragging him along into the second area of the training grounds, the large forested area. "C'mon.. I need someone to practise again and I've not seen you fight yet, so you've been picked today." He emotionless as his face and his voice sounded, Yuuji was trying to be polite, he wasn't exactly the one for making friends, having a rather odd way of going around asking or doing things, if Axel was dragged along or he had simply dodged and followed as soon as Yuuji spoke, they would arrive in a large open area which had seemed to been used before, several trees would be damaged, the wood splintering from them as well as the occasional scorch mark here and there, this was Yuuji's perfect spot for training. Jutsu Learned: Leaf Gale 433/300

Once Axel had the jutsu that he was going to learn next in his mind, someone appeared behind him, crouched, then began to spin while performing a low kick, which connected with Axel's feet, thus knocking the chunin off of them, but before he could fall, the assailant grabbed him by his clothes and began to drag him.

"C'mon.. I need someone to practise again and I've not seen you fight yet, so you've been picked today," the boy said. Axel swore that he heard that voice before, so he turned his head and saw Yuuji Hyuga, his partner for the chunin exams that they failed upon entering the first round. Axel was a little depressed for a time after that, due to having lost to a stupid riddle, but he started to be happy and energetic again once he obtained the title of chunin through hard work, and not just some contest, which actually made him glad that he failed the exams. He was not mad that Yuuji was dragging him, because honestly, the chunin also needed a training partner. Someone to just be there when he is learning various jutsu. A friend, as everyone called them. Maybe if Axel played his cards right, he could make the hyuga one of his buddies today.

"So, Yuuji, you wish to train with me? Well, that will be grand! I was looking for a partner myself, so this will be interesting," Axel said to Yuuji as the man was still dragging him. A few minutes later, when the two had gotten into the forested area of the training field, Axel decided to get up from here, tugging on his collar so that Yuuji would know to release him. Once he got up, the chestnut-haired boy slapped his hands together and kept them connected like that. "If you want to train with me, wait until I finish learning this jutsu that I find really helpful. Also, before I try this, I just want you to know that I know how to use the earth and wind elements in battle," Axel informed Yuuji He was about to perform Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique, a jutsu that he saw the other ninja learning which allows the user to travel underground. Since he already knew a jutsu that let him go underground for a few seconds, it would not be that hard for Axel to learn this jutsu. In front of Yuuji he performed this jutsu a few times. The first times he could barely get more than half of his body underground, and so he had to lift himself out of the holes he made, but ater a while, Axel got the hang of it, and was able to fully travel underground, tasking hinself with running around Sora while still in the ground. He left a trail, but the trail covered up immediately with the use of chakra. After a few laps around the hyuga, Axel emerged from the ground and had arisen in the air a few meters before landing in front of Yuuji.

"Alright, now we can start," Axel said, smiling.

Yuuji He who smiles at death. Yuuji was rather surprised that Axel actually allowed himself to be dragged along while he spoke, eventually Yuuji did let go when he signaled however. "I've not practised in a while, so I'm alittle rusty and I don't like harming people who can't handle it, you wouldn't of been in the exams if you couldn't handle yourself or abit of pain." Although the words had sounded cruel and emotionless, Yuuji didn't intend for the words to be that way it was just how he wore his mask. He couldn't help but rolled his eyes when Axel insisted that he finished learning his jutsu before they started "I shall give you a heads up then, I also know wind and another element. but maybe you'll find out what that one is during our training session, probably not though." Yuuji wasn't prepared to give away too much information of what he was capable of, but telling a fellow wind user that they both share the same element wasn't so bad in a sense. But none the less Yuuji agreed and waited paitently as he watched Axels every move as he performed the Earth Release Jutsu known as "Hiding like a mole", Yuuji had never actually seen it untill now, but he knew what it was capable off, surprising your opponent and catching them off guard was always a handy trick. He couldn't help but let out a slight laugh as he saw Axel failed his first attempt, getting stuck in the ground but quickly removed the look from his face as the emotionless mask returned, it had been a while since he had even shown a smirk, let alone let out a small laugh, but after a few attempts he had seen Axel master the technique as the boy traveled underground, now Axel had mentioned to let him learn his jutsu first before they started, he had learned it, therefore to Yuuji the fight had already began, as Axel appeared out ot the ground before Yuuji, he quickly knelt down using his body as a spring  amassing power through taking a posture where the back of the body falls down before quickly rising up and bringing his right leg up to deliver a highkick towards Axel's upper body, hopefully connecting the kick before he lands, sending him back into the air or atleast to create some distance between the two. In some cases this would be called unfair, because Axel probably had no idea what was about to happen, nor would anyone think to take the words so literal but unfortunetly Yuuji did, he always faced his spars as if they were real fights, but even he knew to be careful and hold back enough so he didn't  deliever a serious injury to Axel, but he didn't want to be under-estimated either, Yuuji always wanted to prove his strength to the other ninjas of Kohona that one day he will be even stronger and that he will continue to aim even higher, that is the destiny of the Hyuga. Jutsu Learned - Leaf Rising Wind 501/500

While Axel was in the air due to emerging from the ground, he thought about what Yuuji had said in response to Axel when he was being dragged around.

"I've not practised in a while, so I'm alittle rusty and I don't like harming people who can't handle it, you wouldn't of been in the exams if you couldn't handle yourself or abit of pain." The hyuga had said. Axel then thought about the exams and why he exactly wanted to join them. Was it to become chunin, get stronger, make connections? He was quite shocked that at the end of it, the chunin did not even know of his own goal in doing something, and Axel hated the fact that he did it without 'true' purpose. Especially since he failed. This did not bother him earlier, but it was something about Yuuji bringing the exams up that made Axel think this way. He then promised himself that nothing he did would ever be without purpose again.

Right as Axel was about to land onto the ground, Yuuji launched a high kick towards the chunin, connecting his foot to Axel's face, sending him soaring in the air once again. He was shocked by the sudden assault that the hyuga, but knew that he told him they could start after he learned the jutsu. Axel wasn't weak enough to get done in by one kick though. He did a back flip in the air to show that he regained his posture after the kick, then before landing, he performed hand seals. 'Boar, Ox, Snake,' Axel formed, then he landed about ten meters away from Yuuji. What he just started up was a technique technically new to him, but he has seen it being used by the ninja on the training field dozens of times. It was called Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm, and basically what it did was make the ground below the target cave in, spiraling inwards on itself, so it was like the walls of a room were coming in on someone. The earth around Yuuji started doing this as soon as Axel landed. If the hyuga did nothing, he would get crushed by the rocks coming in on all sides of him. The chunin knew that this most likely would not happen however, since it was the first time he launched the technique, however he has seen it enough. Even if the technique worked perfectly, Yuuji still could most likely jump out of it.

"Hehe, two can play at that game Hyuga!" Axel shouted, trying to make his voice heard through the sound of the shattering of the earth around Yuuji. This spar was basically a full on battle, or atleast the two treated it like one. Axel began to take in the belief that if you don't give it your all, even when training, you won't be able to perform when your life truly depends on it. He needed to test out all of his jutsu on people before he was ready to use it on real enemies. If that meant a few bones had to be broken, so be it. As long as the two ninjas were trying, nobody would die anyway, or atleast that was what Axel thought.

Yuuji The Mask of Kohona Yuuji seemed quite impressed with himself as the high-kick hit directly on target, but he was also impressed at Axel taking the hit and managing to regain himself as he landed on the ground after performing a backflip. "Not bad, it seems I was right about you after all." Yuuji shot Axel a cold glare as he was preparing another attack, before noticing the handseals that Axel was performing, but he wasn't exactly sure what move was about to come next, was it going to be a wind release technique or another earth one, the next thing he knew the earth below him had begin to shift after Alex had completed the hand seals, he was taken off guard as the earth started to close around on him, he had to think quickly otherwise he'd be crushed, if he had jumped his arm or his leg or something might of got caught leaving him unable to move either way, the only solution he could think of was to perform one of the Gentle Fist arts. Yuuji began to concentrate as he closed his eyes, gathering the chakra in every tenketsu point in his body, before expelling the chakra from these points around his body as it created a strong enough force to break some of the earth around him before he was trapped inside buying him enough time to escape, a close call you could say. "Can't say I was expectin' that one, looks like you have a few tricks up your sleeve." His voice sounded no different, but anyone could tell that Yuuji was atleast trying to be friendly enough to pay even a slapstick compliment to Axel before quickly charging forward towards Axel to close the distance between the two, Yuuji was rather swift on his feet as the distance was quickly closed, once he reached his leg reach, he launched a succession of swift highkicks and low quicklys, trying to restrain Axels area of evasion as he would see the high kick, however this kick was a feint as it purposely missed, giving the low kicks a larger chance to hit if Axel were distracted by the feint kick, the low kicks would be aimed to his waist/stomach area. Axel was amazed that Yuuji was able to blast his way out of the rocks colliding inward on him. It was unwise to underestimate a hyuga, so the chunin needed to think more to win this battle. Actually, it wasn't really a battle, since both were training jutsu. There would be no winner, as both of them were test subjects. The next jutsu Axel wanted to test out was a taijutsu, but first he needed to escape the incoming Yuuji and his attacks. The hyuga began a barrage of high kicks and low kicks, using the high kicks as more of a distraction, and attempting to land the low kicks. Before the barrage had even begun, Axel began forming hand seals. 'Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake,' he formed, while dodging the high kicks. Once Yuuji began performing the low kicks however, Axel was too distracted, and thus the kicks landed, or so Yuuji thought, until a cloud formed around Axel's body. After it cleared, Yuuji would realize that what took the chunin's place was a log that had been just a few meters behind him, so Axel was now staring at the hyuga's back, then began running towards him. Once he was close enough to the target, Axel crouched, then did a spinning low kick. If he was successful in his efforts, Axel would jump back 5 meters. It was quite an easy technique to pull off, since he has seen it used many times, as well as endured the strike himself, one time including about an hour ago when Yuuji use the technique to send Axel to the ground and drag him. The chestnut-haired boy was almost certain he used it right, and if he did not land it, there were always plenty other jutsu to test on his opponent. Anyway, Axel did not want this training session to end soon. He liked training with Yuuji, and probably later, he wanted to have a real and honest battle, where both of them gave it their all, and no holding back.

Yuuji The Mask of Kohona As Yuuji continued the onslaught of low kicks, before he knew it he was hitting a log, which splintered and went soaring off into the distance from the power of the kicks. Heh, smart move, Yuuji thought to himself  He quickly gathered his thoughts as he took a look over his shoulder as he assumed Axel was behind him, he was right he was behind him and the next thing he knew his legs and been sweeped from underneath him which sent Yuuji turning through the air as he watched Axel jump away to create distance between the two, to stop himself from crashing onto the ground, Yuuji placed both hands above him as he planted them onto the ground to perform a handspring back up onto his feet before staring Axel down with the cold glare. "Using a technique thats been used on you, making good use of the arsenal I suppose." Again with another slapstick compliment in a sense, but Yuuji was trying to be friendly even though they had just sounded like insults, but it was just friendly banter. Yuuji examined the distance between the two as he folded his arms across his chest before tying his hair into a ponytail which hung down against his neck, so it didn't block his vision before wondering what his next approach should be, should he attack from a distance or close the distance between the two and engage in close combat, Yuuji had quickly decided he'd try to keep the range between the two as he remembered a technique that was part of the Hyuga Clan's jutsu, he had performed it once before in sudden panic many years ago, the technique was known as Hakke Kūshō, Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm, the ability was to release a high-speed palm thrust which created a vacuum shell using the gentle fist technique to attack from a distance to blow their oppenant with tremendous amounts of force off their feet before they even knew they were hit. To remember the technique Yuuji quickly dwelled into his thoughts to remember that tragic moments where he had used it once before, this was a memory that would never leave him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Several Years Ago The rain began to fall down heavily as Yuuji throw up his hood "As if this couldn't get any worse.." he muttered quietly to himself as one of his classmates laughed and replied "It's not that bad, it's only abit of rain after all."  Yuuji grunted as he continued to treck through the mud before looking over his shoulder at Kotarou. "Kotarou sensei, how much further do we have to go?" The older man laughed once and shock his head "We still have a while to go, remember to have patience." Yuuji rolled his eyes and gritted his teeth continuing with the walk. As the group travelled onwards Yuuji couldn't help but think something was wrong. "I've got the strange feeling like we're being watched, probably just my imagination.." he thinks to himself before being caught in a large explosion, watching his classmates and the messenger slide across the muddy ground along with himself, before his vision fades to black. Yuuji's hand slowly clenched around a mound of wet dirt, his eyes slowly opening as he's greeted by the body of his dead classmate, lying lifeless and bloodied before him causing his eyes to widen in a quick state of shock as he tried pushing himself up to his feet, turning his gaze to the right, looking on at the on going battlefield between his sensei and another man, the two seemed exchange a few quick words before the mans gaze shot towards Yuuji. "Crap, why is he looking over at me?!" the thoughts rushing over him over before staring at the incoming attack from the other man, "I can't die here, I can't!" he muttered to himself as he found himself hopeless to move before closing his eyes in a state of panic being overwhelmed by his emotions. Kotarou was known for protecting his students in trouble, but to give his life to save one has been unheard of, Yuuji stood there completely shocked as his sensei stood there before him, the words that the two exchanged were quickly ended as Yoshino burst into laughter and sought to finish the two in one more attack, but his over confidence cost him as Kotarou performed a lighting style jutsu and binded Yoshino in his place with an electric snare who broke into a state of panic unable to move, Kotarou offered a few final words of advice, leaving the rest up to Yuuji to finish the job and use the skills that he received, Yuuji held back his tears as stared down the rogue  held in place by the mud golem which slowly started to solidify, using the Gentle Fist, Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm from the short distance, letting out a relentless assault untill Yoshino hanged limp from the snare. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the flashback in his mind had ended, Yuuji continued to stare down Axel infront of him before raising his palms entering the gentle fist stance, now this technique was more effective with the Byakugan, but Yuuji wasn't aiming to do tons of damage to his oppenant this was a spar after all, but it felt like a battle but he knew he had to hold back still, Yuuji delievered three swift strikes in the air as these vacuum shells formed flying towards Axel being barely visable, the first strike was a swift right palm strike aimed towards Axel's left shoulder, the second with a swift left palm strike directed towards Axel's right shoulder before drawing his arms back and thrust forward with both palms aiming the shell towards Axel's chest, even though Yuuji held back these strikes would still be rather strong impacts, enough to do a reasonable amount of damage, but Yuuji was more curious to see how Axel would deal with the incoming attack, to see if he could make out what he was doing, let alone how he would defend against it. Justu Learned: Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm 1005/100

Axel was successful in his efforts to knock Yuuji to the ground and retreated a few meters away. He say the hyuga regain balance and get back up, which made Axel feel good that his target could recover from that. He liked facing strong opponents that were ready for everything. After a few seconds, Yuuji entered a stance that Axel was not familiar with, then began to hurl his palms forward. His right palm first, and upon doing so, air seemed to project forward, aiming at the chunin's left shoulder, and it was successful, since Axel could not see the invisible force. Upon impact, he faltered back a few yards, then Yuuji's left palm shot forward, and wind hit Axel's right shoulder, making him falter even more, and then the hyuga thrusted both of his palms forward at once, and wind hit Axel's chest, sending him flying several meters until he hit a tree. After the impact, the boy fell to the floor, and tried to get up from his laying position which was back first, but he couldn't. He trained too many jutsu in one go, so his body began to go into rest mode. He raised his right hand in the sky.

"You win this one, Yuuji Hyuga. Now let me rest," Axel said, hoping that his sparring partner can hear him. His hand fell back to the ground, and the chestnut-haired boy closed his eyes and fell unconscious.

Yuuji The Mask of Kohona Yuuji seemed surprised as all three hits landed as Axel was sent back forcefully into a tree and listened to him speak, before watching the boy fall unconscious. "Should I really just leave him there? I didn't expect that too work at all.." He rubbed the back of his head once before leaving the forested area and leaving the training grounds. "He asked to leave him to rest, can't really deny him that and I thought I was weird." Today had turnt out better expected, Yuuji had learnt several new techniques as well as mastering one of his clans jutsus, he also learned some of Axel's fighting style and just by this he realised that one day he could be either a powerful ally or a powerful enemy, but who knows what the future might hold Word Count: 132/132
