Mission Grinding [Axel/Sora]

Mission Details:

"Let's go Sora. Don't wanna be late for the meeting right?" Axel said to his friend and squad mate Sora Hyuga. Today the two have been assigned a mission by Konoha. There has been a spread of religion in the Land if Fire, and the two are supposed to record their activities. Axel was not a believer of gods and such, for he believed what most shinobi did. The sage of the six paths was rumored to have given this world chakra and life, and the chunin did not want to dwelve further than that. He thought of the sage as his savior, and only the sage. Any people who thought otherwise was an enemy to shinobi, and shinobi doesn't  play well with enemies.

Axel and Sora had just left Konohagakure, and was told that the the church that these enemies were attending was just a few miles away. The chestnut-haired boy wore a long white robe under his outfit, since everyone at the meeting would. First the two had to record their activities, and then if they got caught, they would have to fight their way out. Axel was not going to fail this mission, since all of Konoha entrusted him and his friend with this task. After a few minutes, the group made it to a white building that was in the middle of a grassy plane, and Axel found this kind of weird. It had  a giant cross in the front as well. The building was basically just shaped like a giant square, and many people in white roves were going in from the front entrance.

"Alright Sora, let's get in," Axel said to his friend, and with that he headed to the entrance.

Sora was ready to take on this mission that had been assigned to him by the people of Konohagakure. It was his second C-rank mission, but it would be the first where it would be entirely possible for him to die during this mission. Although the chances of that happening were incredibly low, it was still present. Therefore, Sora would not underestimate his opponents if he needed to fight. He would finish them off quickly and efficiently. He didn't take pleasure in the suffering of others, but would take a person's life if it really came down to it.



Sora met his partner for this mission, and his squad mate, Axel at the village gates.

"Hello Axel..and yeah, we wouldn't want to be late! The village is depending on us to take this cult down!"

Sora was wearing pretty casual clothing, considering he would possibly be fighting for his life. Khaki shorts, a plain blue shirt, and wooden sandals. His headband wad on his forehead, like usual. It was kind of foolish to put it anywhere else considering that an attack to the head would mean certain death.

In a beige sack he was carrying on his shoulders was his robes that would be used to infiltrate the ceremony.

A few minutes later, the duo came across a white building with amazing architecture. Honestly, Sora was impressed. But, he was on a mission...he couldn't afford to sit around and stare at buildings while something horrible and dastardly could be happening.

"Wait..shouldn't we put on our disguises before we go in? We have to blend in as much as possible, right?"

Anyways, he would take his disguise out of the bag, and put it on. If no objections were to be had, then he would head inside the building and record what was going on.

The group of two went inside of the building. There were seats on either sides of the wall, and the middle was like a hallway, with a red carpet leading to a pedestal. The length of the room from the entrance to the pedestal was about 50 meters, which was quite long, and the row of seats extended that far as well on both sides. There were at least 500 people in that building, so killing them all was not an option. Not like Axel kept that option in mind, but a shinobi had to be prepared for anything, and there was no place for the weak. Axel and Sora took their seats in one of the middle rows on the right side, and Axel began to listen to the man standing behind the pedestal, ready to take in new knowledge then report it to the hokage.

"Hello all. I welcome you, and god welcomes you to his home as well. he does not discriminate, and thus we all should not, especially towards those shinobi. They sin everyday, killing others, but we as a whole should just accept them for who they are. Now, let's get to the business," the man said, and with that, he began expelling information about their 'god.' While Axel listened to this information, he thought about what the man said before, about sinning. Were shinobi really doing aweful things? He just thought of it as protecting his home, but he guessed that others did not see it that. After about an hour, the session ended, and the two left the building. After a few minutes of walking back to Konoha, five of the robed men seemed to be following the two, and Axel was sure of this once one man feigned tripping and 'accidently' took Axel's hood from his head, revealing his face and headband.

"So, you two are spies? Let's show them what we do to spies, boys," the man said. The five surrounded Axel and Sora, and they were in the middle of a forested area, so the genin and chunin had to face these threats themselves. The five pulled out knives.

As Axel and Sora entered the room, Sora was momentarily overtaken by the beauty of the interior. It amazed him how it exceeded the beauty of the outside with all the paintings..but now, it was time to hear the true evils of this cult, which is why Konohagakure sent them here. But what dastardly deeds did they commit to attract the attention of such a powerful village? Sacrifices? Selling of performance enhancing drugs? Sora couldn't wait to find out, and sat next to his friend Axel.

But what he expected to hear was much different then what he actually heard. From what he gathered, these Christians weren't violent people, and weren't a threat by any means. Sora would be happy to report this. But he did know that Christianity was heavily persecuted, which is why they probably had bodyguards.

Why would anyone be opposed to the message of peace? It sounds like they're trying to change this endless cycle of death and bloodshed, and it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

For a moment, he turned to Axel. But he had his doubts that he would understand what Sora was about to say, so the Genin kept his mouth shut, making sure to record notes along the way.

They left the service. and it seemed that the mission was a success. That was good, because he didn't want to harm these people...but, it seemed like fate didn't make it easy for him. Axel's cover was blown, and they would have to fight there way out of here. But it was only five of them..

"Axel, go easy on them. They don't deserve death.."

Despite these words, he did not trust Axel and would fight the Christians by himself, using the Byakugan to see tenketsu. Once he did this, he would knock them all out with one well placed strike.

He and Axel would go home, and cash in the mission.

Description: The village's intel division has been alerted to reasonably high activity from a small group of bandits causing problems at the border of the Fire Country. They are petty thieves; robbing whoever crosses the border, and discouraging tourism. Stop this small group of bandits using any means necessary. They are noted to be non-shinobi and therefore not much of a threat.
(In actuality, the bandit leader is a D-Ranked shinobi with plenty of dirty tricks.)


Sora was called in to the office of the intel division, along with his partner Axel. This could only mean that they were being sent on a decent ranked mission that would be a little dangerous, and pay quite nicely. With each mission he did, his superiors were starting to notice his skills. He was getting closer and closer to obtaining the rank of Chuunin, and being a worthy ninja. Perhaps he would be ready to fight his clan leader Hazama for the freedom of the branch members..but, he would stop focusing on the distant future for now and would instead turn his attention towards the lady sitting on a chair behind the desk.

"Alright you two, you seem like a pretty good team which is why we put you together. The higher ups were impressed with your detailed notes on that cult...Christianity, right? Anyways, let's get down to why you're here. It's a simple mission, and only an idiot would die. A group of bandits have been causing some trouble near the border, robbing whoever comes near them and discouraging tourism. They aren't much of a challenge for ninjas like you two..the leader is a simple D-rank threat. Kill them, beat them up, maim them, we don't care. Just send them a message that we don't appreciate them trying to harm our citizens.."

Justice had to be delivered, but these bandits weren't nice as the Christians. Sora would have no mercy, and would kill them..although, since they were petty bandits it wouldn't be painful.

"Alright Axel, let's go!"

Sora left the office and headed towards the borders of the Land of Fire to confront these bandits. It was obviously hot in Konoha, so Sora's choice of shorts, a light shirt, and sandals were perfect.

"I guess we should kill the bandit leader quickly and in an embarrassing fashion, so his thugs will get the message and run away. I dunno, you're the higher ranking shinobi here."

Axel had woken up by a knock on his door, to which he responded to the person to come into his room. It was his mother and a woman beside her that Axel had recognized as a member of the administration office.

"Get up, you have a mission you need to be doing with your teammate Sora Hyuga. Come to the administration building and don't be late," informed the lady, then she left the room and exited the house via the front door. Axel thought that she was very rude, and hoped that another person would be sent next time.

"Do your family proud son!" shouted Axel's mother, fully waking him up, then she closed his door behind him and left to attend to the house work. He got up and put on his usual attire, then left his house and went straight to the administration building. Upon entering through the front door, Axel spotted Sora near the front desk and smiled at him. Their last mission together was a success, so the chunin was sure that he and his teammate could get done whatever was thrown at them. The lady sitting at the front desk complimented Axel and Sora on their previous mission, then informed them of the current mission they were to go on, which included handling a few bandits near the Konoha border. After that, the two left the building and exited Konoha via the village gates. Sora suggested that they kill the bandit leader first then assume that the others would run away, but Axel did not agree.

"Nah, I think we should just kill them all. They would just come back with a new leader or something. I don't want to take the risk," replied Axel. He was a nice guy, but took his missions seriously, and would kill if it was necessary and at this time, it was. After a few minutes of walking, he and Sora was instantly surrounded by six bandits. They all had swords unsheathed and pointed at the two.

"Give us your money you filthy ninja!" shouted the bandit in front, who seemed to be the leader. Axel did not comply, and instead unsheathed his sword, pointing it at him.

"We aren't giving you shit buddy. Sora, get ready for battle," Axel said. He had a blank expression, which was his angry face. He did not like it when people tried to bully others, and that was exactly what these bandits were doing.

"John, Davis. Show these two who's boss," the leader instructed, then the two on either side of him ran towards the genin and chunin with their swords, ready to strike. Davis got there first and went for Axel, but his swordsmanship proved too well for the low life bandit to handle, and thus he was sliced to death. The next bandit came, and was also sliced to death by Axel's sword skills. The chestnut-haired boy then ran towards the bandit leader, who was shaking, but stood his ground. Axel first launched a horizontal slash to which the bandit responded with a vertical strike. After that, a serious sword battle occurred. The two were jumping around, colliding their swords together, and after a few minutes, Axel was declared the victor, having successfully killed the bandit leader.

"Alright Sora. Kill the other three," Axel instructed, looking at Sora with that same blank expression towards the hyuga.

Sora did not mind having to kill the bandits, and was impressed by Axel's skills with the blade. Perhaps he could learn from him. Anyways, Axel left two other bandits, who at this time, were obviously scared since Axel just took out the leader without much problem. They looked like they were about to run any minute, but Axel was right. He couldn't let them escape and cause more trouble..

"Sorry guys, but a shinobi has to do what a shinobi has to do..I can't let you cause any more trouble.."

One of the bandits, trembling, looked at Sora.

"We're sorry..he forced us to do this! My brother tried to escape, but that bastard killed him to make an example outta him..please, just please let us go!"

Sora felt sorry for them. How could he kill them if they were forced to do this? For a moment, he let his guard down and prepared to turn away, letting them live. But, he heard the sounds of footsteps running towards him..

"YOU DUMB BASTARD, YOUR LIFE ENDS HERE!"

Unfortunately for the bandit, the skill and strength gap was simply too wide. Quickly, he grabbed the bandit's hand.

"You didn't even try attacking me with a weapon..idiot...BYAKUGAN!"

Sora would proceed to strike many tenketsu along the man's body, kicking him to the curb near his friend. First, his head would swell uncontrollably along with his eyes...then POP!

The bandit's head would burst, and shrapnel from his head would kill the other bandit.

"Guess you can't trust everyone.."

Sighing, he would walk back to Konoha.

MIssion Details:

Axel woke up early today so that he could get the jump on any missions that needed to be done around Konoha before the other ninja got the good ones. He really wanted a good mission this time, because the tougher ones always offered a great challenge, and some extra cash on the side that Axel could spend on some things he had his eye on for awhile. He put on his usual attire and left his house via the front door as quickly as possible, carrying a banana while running to the administration office. He didn't want to do missions on an empty stomach, and though one banana wasn't enough to fill up a ninja, it was better than nothing. After a few minutes of dashing across Konoha, Axel finally made it to the administration building. He entered via the front entrance, and went to the lady at the front desk.

"Hello mam. I would like a mission to go on today. B-Rank is preferable," Axel told the woman, smiling. She then began looking through folders, then took out a paper a slammed it against the desk,

"Sorry sir. I am afraid that the only mission we have available for you today is administration office work, so if you want a mission, get working," replied the woman, then she pointed at the seat that was next to her.

"You can't be serious, right?" Axel asked. If there is anything he hated more then walking dogs, it was sitting somewhere all day and doing paperwork. He never thought that he would have to, but it seemed that he had no choice. It was either go home and make no ryo, or do some boring office work and get paid. He went with the latter of course, but he still did not like his situation.

"Yes I am serious. Now get to work sir," replied the woman, smiling. Axel reluctantly sat down on the seat next to the woman and started signing stacks and stacks of paperwork.

The sweet sound of a mockingbird entered Sora's ears. It was time to begin doing some more missions, as he was on the edge of advancing to the next rank, the rank of Chuunin. He would be trusted with more missions, which meant more money, which meant more equipment to fight the bad guys. He had long since gotten over the frustration of failing the Chuunin Exams with the help of his parents, but he was forever changed, turning into a merciless weapon of justice.

He stretched, engaging in his usual morning activities. Brushing his teeth, taking a shower, putting on some deodorant. Then, he would move on towards his wooden closet, sliding it open and picking out what clothes he wanted to wear. First, he would pick out a pair of red shorts, along with a matching buttoned down red shirt. Then, he would get a pair of black sandals with red socks, and walked out of the house. With how late he got up, his parents were probably busy training, or doing missions.

"Today seems like a nice day...like I can take on the whole world!"

He was pumped, and he was ready. Perhaps he would take on some A-rank missions! Sora charged towards the Administration Building, ready to kick ass and claim names. Sora noticed Axel doing some paperwork...the poor fool!

"Hey, Ma'am! I'd like to apply for an A-rank mission, alright?!"

The lady looked at Sora, then started cackling, drawing the attention of others nearby.

"Aren't you apart of the Konoha squad that failed the first part of the exams? Plus, you're a Genin. You expect me to give a scrub like you such an important mission? Ha!"

Sora looked down on the ground, a little hurt by her words..they felt like daggers.

"Sit down next to Axel and get to work...we have some papers that needs filling out."

Sora sat down next to Axel, frowning. He was obviously not pleased with this mission.

This lady sure is mean..

He began signing papers carefully to avoid the lady's wrath.

While Axel was signing papers, his good buddy Sora showed up, and asked for a mission, but like him, the hyuga was told to sit down and get to work.

"Oh, hey Sora. I see you got stuck doing paperwork like me then. Well, think about it this way. At least we are getting paid right? Just a few more hours and our ryo will be given to us and we can spend it on whatever we want," Axel told Sora, trying to look on the bright side of things. For hours, the two sat at the table doing countless amounts of paperwork. Everytime, more and more would be dropped on the desk by the evil office lady.

"Ha! If it were up to me, you two would be here all night. Oh wait, it is up to me! Hahaha!" she shouted, making Axel more furious.

"Can you please not rub it in our face lady? Let us just do our work please. I would like to spend all of my time working instead of you dogging us," Axel said. He could not stand the lady, and just had to speak up, but unfortunately all that got him was double paperwork.

Sora was getting real tired of signing these papers, but Axel was right. At least they were getting a decent amount of ryo. But would such a tame mission like this count towards him advancing to the Chuunin rank? He frowned.

I hope it does...I don't want to waste hours of my life I could have spent relaxing on nothing..

Sora kept signing more and more papers. He was a little scared by this lady, watching her power to fuck over other ninja using political bullshit..even though she wasn't strong physically, Sora would NOT want to mess with her. It would be too much of a problem..

But finally, it seemed like a light was at the end of this tunnel. The stacks of paper were finally starting to disappear...and after a few minutes, Sora was finished going through the papers.,

"Phew....."

He would stay and help Axel with the papers until they were both finished.
