Jutsus:

The temple of her ancestors. She barely remembered this place anymore, so much had happened in life with the ANBU and the death of her sister, one of the few things in this day and age that actually affected her. She sighed, she also seemed to be doing a lot of that lately as well. One of the few ANBU she allowed to openly express an opinion suggested that she start dating. She stared incredulously at him until her faded back into the shadows, presumably to work on more ANBU-related happenings. Not that he knew, since she was safely hidden behind her four-eyed mask. Not that it mattered anymore, she had business here and it wasn't to reminisce. She was never that sentimental and hoped never to be. She came here today to train . She had realized, while poring over the amount of jutsu that she knew, that she was lacking in some areas. She knew no notable fuinjutsu and didn't have any barrier jutsu, something that, as an ANBU, much less captain, was just not acceptable. And so, she came here to train. She was focusing more on barrier jutsu today. She wasn't much of a sensory ninja, and thus had to find other ways around this. Settling down, she began to meditate and focus her chakra before getting down to the serious work.

Zuka hummed quietly as she gathered her chakra. Training for barrier jutsu required focus, concentration and excellent chakra control. Add to the fact that she was trying to learn two of them and you could better understand her burden. She was attempting to learn the harder of the two jutsu first, the barrier technique that sensed movement and alerted her to it. The first one was rather simple, it was just a matter of getting the explosive tags to react when something entered the middle of the barrier.

Standing up, she first started by expanding her chakra outward as far as she could without making it visible. She was struggling, her knowledge of shape transformation was lacking and for the barrier, it had to be maintained in a dome shape for it to be effective. She formed the hand seal for tiger in an attempt to further focus and manipulate her chakra. It helped by relieving her of some of the pressure of her immense chakra weighing down on her head. Even though it was a cold climate, she could feel the sweat drops on her head and in between her palms.

She began to feel her chakra pushing out of her, with her being being the focal point of the jutsu. When she did this though, the pressure on her head seemed to dramatically increase. Keeping her chakra centered around her while simultaneously maintaining its shape and increasing its size felt as though she was attempting to stretch a rubber band to its farthest length without letting her fingers slip and the elastic snapping back into place with a painful POP!

She quickly began a mantra of hand seals, Rat-Snake-Tiger-Dragon, in that order, in an attempt once again, to relieve some of the pressure. This tactic was a double-edged swords of sorts. It lessened her chakra control while giving a secondary focal point for her chakra to flow into. The dome shape was fluctuating wildly now and it had only stretched about 9 meters (30 ft) away from her. Suddenly, she lost control and flew back about 3 meters (10 ft), crashing into a tree, which promtly splintered as her chakra suddenly returned to her. She groaned in pain, both from the impact and the sudden return of her chakra

Zuka groaned as she could still feel the impact itself in all of the bones in her back and shoulders. The thick tree had a Zuka-sized imprint that had cratered almost 3/4 of the way through. Zuka twisted her head, actually wondering how the tree was not falling over or at the very least, showing significant swaying of any kind, which was usually and inclination or premonition to a falling, crashing tree. Zuka idly wondered whether or not anyone would have heard the tree, aside from herself, crashing. Probably would not matter anyway. Slowly getting up and dusting splinters and branches of of her person, Zuka let out a groan-sigh. She stretched her arms and back out repeatedly, trying to shake off any tension before she once again meditated, this time in an upright standing position to focus her chakra once more. She had the basics, now the real part she needed to work on was shape transformation.

She continued this way for several minutes until she felt ready to handle her chakra once more. She stood and began to once more focus her chakra outward, further and further. This time there seemed to be less resistance but the barrier itself still felt as though she were stretching a rubber band to its limits. Much like how she was straining herself to reach her full potential. She could feel that she was close and merely needed to keep working at it. The barrier stretched farther and farther until Zuka forcefully commanded her chakra to stop. Now she need to work on maintaining the barrier. She realized that this wasn't that much harder than the standard ANBU barrier, only that was to shield attacks. She stood for several minutes, feeling the wind pickup outside the temple as though it were challenging her to keep up her barrier without failing. She felt even more resistance fall away; the rubber band was being pulled only 1/4 of the way. She grinned at her mastery thus far. Now all she had to do was maintain the shape, the jutsu itself and be able to move around without the barrier failing. Concentrating hard, Zuka leapt up into the trees and flexed her chakra experimentally. Nothing seemingly happening, Zuka jumped to several other trees before reversing and traveling in the opposite direction. Clearing the tree line, she jumped on top of the temple and race to the top, well above the canopy of trees. All the while, she was able to maintain her barrier. She grinned again, she mastered the first jutsu.

Zuka was feeling a rare pep in her step. She had mastered a new jutsu, and a particularly hard one (for her at least). It left her with a sense of accomplishment. The next jutsu would be fairly simple and wouldn't require as much work. She had extra explosive tags and kunai, among other accoutrements. She was in an clearing, deeply inserted into a forest, with four irregularly shaped pillar-like rocks in the cardinal directions. The point of this barrier was to trap or kill people. By setting four explosive tags in each directional, once someone stepped into the center, the explosive tags would go off. If only four were used, someone might be injured, but not dead. Anymore and if you weren't strong enough you weren't here anymore. An excellent jutsu for when Zuka wanted to attempt a death before actually having to fight.

Threading a string through the loop in the kunai, she tied it, broke it with the edges on her mask and threw it at the center. The kunai landed dead in the center; Zuka ran chakra through the string. Nothing. She groaned, yanking on the string and catching the kunai. She keep running chakra through the string and threw it again, once more landing on its target. One tag caught fire, but wasn't strong enought to explode.

She yanked the kunai back to her and jumped down to the rock. She removed the burnt tag from the rock and replaced it. Leaping back up in the tree, she threaded string through another kunai. She threw the first one and then the second one in rapid succession. This time, all the tags went up in flames. She sighed; she still had work to do.
