Looks Description:
- Spoiler:
Standing at 5'7 ft and weighing in at 130 lbs, Neru is a woman of fair size and weight. While she would never consider herself a very tall woman by any definition, she is indeed taller than most of the women she is usually with. She has a light skin tonality that borders on pale though not quite so harshly so. In fact, most would say she has a very rich skin tone. Some of the more daring individuals, albeit most of them in the past, have likened her skin to the beauty of pearls or to the bare nearly unadulterated nature of sand.
Her hair, initially, was always a matter of questions. At an early age, the kids couldn't make up her mind on whether they liked it or hated it. For the most part they were wise enough to keep their general ideas to themselves. While as a child, Neru was never overly violent, and was instead quite disciplined and behaved, most knew well than to push her buttons beyond the point of no return. To be fair, she never truly had an opinion on her hair unlike other parts of her body. It would have been nice if she could have asked any of her relatives as to why her hair was the color it was; perhaps having to do with one or more of her parents or ancestors. But alas, she never could. And that was alright. While she never truly disliked it, she wasn't very fond of it. Her hair was one of those things she just pretty much learned to live with because it was what it was.
Nevertheless, most will say her hair is one of the most silky and beautiful they have ever seen. This was so even before she became Mizukage. She has been known to tend to it regularly so its never quite the same size. For the most part however, her hair tends to reach anywhere from just below her shoulders to occasionally past her mid-back. Silvery light as her hair is, its not rare to see many children and even adults taking time to admire it as she passes by. Though some may not believe her, she actually doesn't regularly care for it as much as its appearance might indicate. Its tonality is also rather relative and changing. Under a bright light or during a rather sunny day, her hair tends to look very bright and almost snow white-looking. On more cloudy days or at night, it tends to acquire a more murky, darker tonality of its silvery white base. Many have, though subtlety, suggested she keep her hair down as it seems she looks more beautiful that way. While the comments have always been thanked and welcomed, she has rarely followed the advice. Sometimes she will indeed have her hair down though. However, given her duties and the possibility of combat, she most often keeps her hair up, always with a white moonflower adorning it. The latter is fixed with a thin black string that also helps keep her hair tied up.
Neru's eyes on the other hand, have always been of concern to her. She likes the color of her eyes, but then again, she tends to like the color of most eyes. Her natural eye color tends to be that of a light chocolate brown color. In some ways, it is a near hazel-like tonality. However, much like her hair, harsh changes in lightning can produce some altered effects that, while not enough to produce a significant color change, do tweak the hues a bit into what she would consider a marginally admirable look. During the night or in the shade, the brown in her eyes tends to intensify to a point where some might be confused as to whether her eyes are truly brown or black. During the day or under a bright light however, the light that enters the eye manages to make it look somewhat brighter and almost even approach the subtlest of green tonalities. Also, though lesser known are the changes that occur during heavy and arduous combat. Not many can attest to the following since there are a very few number of individuals who have faced her in life and death combat and survived. However, among the higher ups and elders of the village, there are some rumors that during the harshest battles of her life, there were reports of her eyes turning red. It is unclear what the reason or purpose of such event meant, but what is known is that the eye remains the same, with no new patterns discernible as its just a change from her usual color of the iris to a red tonality. In reality, there "was" a reason to the occasional change to the red tonality in her eyes. Neru inherited, thanks to her mysterious parents, one of the rarest Kekkei Genkai of her village, Kirigakure. She had inherited the Kekkei Genkai that had presumably only been seen once on a boy from the same village that traveled with one of the missing ninja and former swordsmen of the mist. The Kekkei Genkai was known as Ranmaru's Kekkei Genkai. When activated at will, the dojutsu turned her eyes red and glowed with the same hue. It grants her abilities of penetrative vision much like the Byakugan, and hinders the other forms of dojutsu like the latter. It also grants her the unique ability of healing through the manipulation of life force. Easily able to penetrate solid objects, her eye abilities allow her to see and hear at very long distances just like the Byakugan can. Her ability however, completely negates the ability of the Byakugan to do just that. The dojutsu allows her to create a special irresistible genjutsu that fools the Byakugan. Sensing and picking up chakra from long distances is also very easy to do as well as determining the amount of enemies. Much like the Sharingan, her Kekkei Genkai allows her to notice changes in an individual's chakra, and heightens her perception and analytic powers to comprehend any details she sees. In essence, seeing her opponent's life force to determine and predict a foe's next move or check if they are alive are benefits awarded by the doujutsu. In addition, she is able to transfer some of her own life force to completely heal someone who is mostly dead.
Perhaps two of the things that stand out about Neru the most are her body and her choice in clothing. Ever since she was growing up, it was obvious she would grow to become a very beautiful woman. Now, her body is a living testament as her well endowed womanly body causes more than a few eyes to stray off their path. Her clothing is also significantly different than what most Mizukage wore before, and likely even different than what most shinobi and kunoichi wear. Up until the time she was a Genin, she wore very general and standard clothing. It was very similar to the ones the other girls wore. However, as she aged, after becoming a Chunin, her choice in clothing changed completely...likely as an after effect of her different responsibilities given her power. She became rather aloof to the comments and beliefs of others, at least much more so than when she was younger. She decided to wear very revealing items of clothing that showed much more than most women seemed to wear.
There was never any real discomfort with anyone though. Her power in combat and the fervent dedication and success in completing her assignments and duties were quite renowned. Her reputation preceded her. There were more reasons however. Her voluptuous body, and the clothing she wore were specially helpful during some of her duties as it allowed her to lure in individuals given her sexual appeal and assassinate them afterwards if such was her given assignment. Even after becoming a Jounin, she maintained the same practices. It was a bit more known then, so everyone was just used to it and no real negative reaction was presented. In fact, most would say they rather prefer her in her choice of outfit...though not most would have the courage of saying it to her face today. Upon her assignment as Mizukage, the fact that she maintained her mannerisms and choice in clothing was not surprising but rather comical. In a way, it was not so bad. Many seem to prefer having a unique Kage that dresses quite different than most. However, given her personality, though her responsibilities always take priority, she couldn't care much about what others think, if negatively, about the way she handles herself.
On her left arm, from the shoulder to just above the elbow, she is covered in bandages. It extends to the side to cover up and around, the slightest bit of bottom-most portion of her neck. The same can be observed on her left leg. The white wrappings cover all the way from the uppermost portion of her thighs down to her feet. The reasons are known to very few individuals and she prefers not to talk about it and would likely never even think of letting anyone know or see. She may occasionally joke about it however. Some rumors say she covers certain seals she made herself or her enemies made on her many years ago during the wars. Others say she just uses it to cover injuries while others just advocate, given her unorthodox style of clothing, that she just merely finds it sexy and the mystique just adds to the latter. Nevertheless, it is not likely she will reveal or qualify any of them as true any time soon.
On that same left leg, she wears what looks like an odd-looking shin guard. It seems to be made from a similar material as the bandages albeit somewhat darker, as they wrap around what most seem to believe is some form of cushioning material that helps her deliver very powerful kicks while minimizing the risks of injury. Five black straps are tied around it fixing it to place as the odd shin-guard covers not only her shins since it also manages to veil the calf as well. While the same is not reciprocal on the right leg, her choice in shoes is bilateral. During her years of travel, she managed to meet a lot of people and see many items many have not even heard of. Her style of shoes seems to have stem from her years in the prowl. In the form of high heels, most would say that combat while wearing them is a huge liability, but she would disagree. The shoes are specially tailored to be just as tough as any other. Also, she has wore them enough and trained with them enough to the point where they feel very comfortable and extremely natural much like walking barefoot would. Thus, there is no discomfort or disadvantage at all.
By her upper thighs, a pair of thin black strings wrap around them. On her left leg, the black string is wrapped just above the upper most portion of the bandages while on the right leg, the string is on the same level. Likely one of the more controversial items she wears is her lower body undergarment. Towards the front it looks much like normal white panties would. However, it becomes somewhat more complicated and unorthodox as it goes around the back. Starting at the side of her thighs and also over her navel, on both bottom-most and upper-most edges of the panties, they are frilled and undulated. On the back, by her butt, the panties look more like what the design of a corset would. Neatly tied set of strings keep the undergarment on. While the design does indeed reveal some of the contours of her butt on the upper and bottom portions, it still manages to cover a fair amount. It is enough to be naughty and enough to be considered an outfit. Nevertheless, it rides high enough where, if standing still and purposely looking, the contours of her bubble butt are easily discernible.
On her upper body, she wears a very comfortable and silky looking top. In fact, it is so soft that she has extra sets to sleep in. The blue colored top, in more than one way, could be likened to that of the clothing used by some to go to bed. It is enough to completely cover her abdomen and it is just barely enough to nearly cover and block the view to the front of her panties. However, the slightest of rushed or sudden movements would easily display the latter. She knows this, and she doesn't mind. The top is open towards the back. Most of her upper and mid back, even part of her lower back are thus bare and openly displayed. Just a few inches over her butt, the top comes together, tied with a black ribbon, much like the color it displays on its edges. The sides are enough to cover the sides of the panties unless she is running or engaged in hastened activity. For the most part, on a relatively standard position, it should also be enough to cover some of the minor contours of her butt that her panties display, but on certain occasions, depending on the movements, they won't.
By her breasts, the top has quite a lot of number of strings. It manages to tie it around her back, up and over her shoulders, and even up and around her neck. This thus denies the need for a bra as it would most likely always remain on. While it indeed manages to cover a large majority of her breasts, the small set of slits on different portions of the design do show some skin on her breasts. However, given the day and age and how many things have changed, specially how little she cares, she pays no attention to ill-willed comments about her freedom of choice in clothing. On her forearms, she wears a similarly looking blue silky fabric that covers her forearms. Also on both of her hands, black gloves are nearly always displayed.
Unlike most of her peers, she rarely carries a large variety of weapons. She's known for her two signature blades. However, given their size, it was never really practically to carry them around. Thus, at her own discretion and will, a seal or mark is displayed on her skin and she is able to summon her twin blades. The handles are nearly the length of her forearm and thus each blade could really be held with two hands. Still, though their weight might be fair, she is able to swing them about with relative easy as if they weighted nothing. The blades themselves are minimally curved and their length is just about that of the top of her head to her navel. Perhaps one of the more scarier aspects of the blade is that instead of being plane edged like most, both blades are serrated and extremely sharp. While they may indeed cut, it is more likely that they shave with quite a lot of ease. Also, while the specifics are not openly known, there are rumors that her swords likely have some form of abilities.
Personality Description:
- Spoiler:
Independent & Free Spirit: Neru is unlike most people a ninja might meet. She is a basket with a delicate and unique assortment of personalities. Though she may have her serious and fierce moments such as those displayed on a battle, she also possesses rather tender and gentle qualities that make her who she is. Among the many reasons she is loved and treasured is her unique personality. For the most part, she can be found in the village, both helping and guiding other shinobi or of course, and tending to her duties. On the rare chances she has alone to do as she please, her free spirit takes sovereignty over her. When she can, she enjoys traveling...regardless of how rare the opportunities have become. Being around people is no longer her main source of attention as she has enough interaction with those in Kirigakure. Most often, she tends to like to visit river beds, the mouth of large fast flowing rivers, or the entrance to underwater caves or far off islands. At least she used to. She seems to be taken by the desolate, peaceful nature of the world at its most unique and simple. It is not that she seeks loneliness or likes to be alone. She just, like many people, like a sort of balance in their live. Like most, though helping around is bliss, she also enjoys being alone with her own thoughts from time to time.
Flirty & Slutty: It doesn't take a genius to figure out Neru likes to show off her body. While she may not openly choose to say so, it is hardly necessary. Though everything is well covered for the post part, its easy to see that sudden or rushed movements can show areas of her butt and the occasional subtle panties shot as well as hint at the nearly visible contours of her breasts. She doesn't mind, and even prefers showing a bit of skin, as producing blushes and giggles on the passing man seems to amuse her quite a bit. Her slutty choice of clothing should not confuse her with a slut however. Though she enjoys dressing in a rather provocative way, and even occasionally flirting with guys every now and then, she knows her limit and makes sure others knows them as well. Her choice in clothing and dismal interest in flirting has no effect on who she feels attracted to as it will not change. Her unorthodox and largely random behaviors are but reflections of a very convoluted and unique personality.
Low Self-Esteem & Competitive: Although it may not be quite apparent from the way she dresses and the way she behaves, Neru has a rather low self-esteem. It doesn't stem out of any childhood problems or affection deficiencies. She knows she is beautiful. She doesn't need anyone to tell her to be aware of that, though hearing such remarks are gladly welcomed with a smile. It's just a habit of her, and almost natural to tend to find a fault in her figure, even if deep down, she knows she is as close to being an embodiment of beauty as any other women. She is not so superficial as to care for looks alone as she is the one to believe everyone, no matter what they look like on the outside, can potential be a truly beautiful being so long as their heart reflects what their outer appearance might not. However, because of her occasional thoughts of lesser worth, she truly enjoys being complimented. She won't go out of her way to push a compliment as she would hate herself for doing so. She just loves when someone compliments her, specially her body. She always seems to smile brighter whenever others flirt with her and comment on her body, or when one of her friends makes a remark on her looks on any given day. She also seems to develop rivalries and competition rather easily, and not only on the battlefield. It is mostly directed to people who annoy her or piss her off. Even if the lady is not nearly as well endowed physically as her, Neru is quick to draw comparisons within her self-conscious and elevate the self worth of the rival to match her owns even if doing so would be highly inaccurate. Though it often serves as a way to gather more rivals and competitors, it doesn't seem to be all bad. It allows her to have enough competition to continue to train and grow into a stronger fighter as well as keep a watchful eye on her figure and continue being a beautiful woman.
Pervert & Curious: It is no secret that Neru is a bit of a pervert. The fact is more well known to those closer to her than hopefully with other individuals, but she truly doesn't care either way. Neru has a very peculiar definition of what being a pervert is. She can often be found looking into adult edition of books and other adult material, specially that showing the ladies and the gentleman in light clothing. She is not confused as to her sexuality; she merely looks into them out of curiosity. Neru is one who would likely advocate that her hobbies ad tendencies do not truly make her a pervert. She would rather say she is just highly curious about many things, especially largely bare bodies. While she may well be a pervert on her own right, she is just truly a curious individual. Although she is able to keep composure, especially on issues or situations she knows better than to dig into, in most cases, she is likely to ask and go around until the individual has told her the secret or the core of the problem or information. It’s almost as if being told something and not getting the whole idea of it would drive her mad throughout the day. And it has. She just loves knowing things. While she would not compare her quest of learning and knowledge to be quite as set and profound as that of researchers, she is nevertheless quite taken by a lot of things and would rather know something than not.
Love and Deep Emotions: Neru is wildly known for her very clear and public shows of affection. It is not rare for her to come up behind a friend or someone she is fond of, and sometimes out of a surprise, hug them from behind or mess up their hair. It is not clear to her whether she is able to make friends and relationships with ease or not. Though her outer behavior would lend itself to say so, her mildly conflicting inner emotions do leave her with doubt at times. Nevertheless, she easily and quite often makes display of her emotions.
Critic and Bad Habits: She's very critical of those who do not follow the rules and is quick to admonish those with outlandish behavior. She makes emphasis on those who slack during their duties and who drink or over socialize during the times when they should be working. She is not one that should be complaining much however, and she knows it. She makes a point not to criticize anyone who makes certain changes to their clothing but that is specifically because she doesn't follow the rules when it comes to the uniform. Her outfit is rather revealing in its own right. Stubborn as she is, she will not wear anything else or choose to compromise by covering more. She is not so harsh a critic to be confused with an old woman however. In fact, she can often be seen inviting the men and women from her closer knit group out to drink and socialize at night. Sometimes. However, she pays close attention to make sure their evenings outing are done in a manner and at a time when they do not conflict with the duties and responsibilities they have. Though she adheres to her duties, she just loves to drink, talk, laugh, and just merely socialize with her friends and acquaintances.
Calm and Kind Outer Nature & Opposites Within: It is very difficult to make Neru look flustered or nervous, at least on the exterior. Her eyes always reflect the look of someone who either has seen it or all, or at the very least, expects it all. She takes nearly all situations regardless of severity with the same calm and laid back demeanor. Whether she is in a hurry to finish her work or delivering news of great sadness about the death of a comrade, her calm nature can sometimes be either soothing or infuriating to some. The same is not true inside though. For the most part, Neru worries rather easily. Internally, everything seems to set her nervousness off. Being somewhat late on an assignment, delivering sad news of fallen comrades, and facing up to situations that would likely depress her seem to trigger it. Though her outer behavior and mannerisms are those of someone seemingly unshaken by anything, her inner emotions reflect that of a woman who is afraid to act because of the likely ramifications. Her inner fear is quite limited however. It is limited to simple decisions that may become troublesome but have no power over the things that truly matter. If battle was at hand or she was needed to fight to defend her village, nervousness would go out the window. In a way, she doesn't take herself too seriously for the most part, in what it pertains to her inner emotions but serious enough situations bring out the mature and assertive adult in her.
Cheerful: It is quite common to see Neru smiling. In fact, some have even said it is difficult to discern many of her emotions as both her happiness and upset moments are veiled by laughter and smiles which makes the line between them quite sketchy. Though on her own time, she barely smiles, whenever she is out and about, most of her words and responses to others involve some form of smile with the occasional giggles after it. While she may not have had the most peaceful of lives, she is thankful for mostly everything that’s happened to her. Every day is kind of a blessing, and though she may chose to mask the occasional sadness with smiles, she finds it quite easy to perform the latter, and everyone seems to enjoy the smiles she gives out.
Sassy and Sarcastic: Though for the most part Neru is quite kind, she can react in very unexpected ways when pushed. If made to anger or become frustrated with something or someone, she is known to respond or continue on the conversation with rather sassy and sarcastic remarks. Her word choice and tone of voice most often do not entail any secretly or otherwise outwardly shown evil aside from the snarky, almost comical way she behaves. Her rare use of mildly foul language and attempts to use her sarcasm and sassy attitude on others is save for the rare few who upset her beyond belief and thus force on her a behavior she would otherwise not display. In some occasions she has been seen speaking to some of her men, asking them nicely to perform a certain task expected of them. Though the majority display the innate discipline expected of them, some of the more lazy ones do drive her off the edge. After repeated attempts to get them to do whatever she expects them to do, her subtle and continuous smiles are replaced by a momentary smirk and a fairly strong whack to the back of their head as her tone of voice and word choice reflect the more frightening yet comical side of her. Should the individuals be convinced to do as they should have from the very beginning, it is quite easy for Neru to return her tone of voice and her expression to the cheerful state she had originally.
Stubborn: Neru can be quite stubborn in most situations. For the most part, she’s always had the freedom to do as she pleased and go where she pleased though with certain subtle limitations. Though she had always been a model woman and one to follow, she was never perfect. As an adult, in the present, it’s difficult for her to understand and agree to situations and ideas with which she does not understand. Thus it is not rare to see Neru give off peculiar looks when certain things are brought up. On most cases however, she will be quick and assertive to make a rebuttal even if her argument is not well supported. However, she is not stubborn to argue for the sake of arguing. For the most part, her beliefs stem out of ideas or concepts she is passionate about.

History:
- Spoiler:
Left to her own accord, veiled in wrappings, Neru was found in the outskirts of the village as a baby. It was a miracle in it of itself that she was found. Given the violence and the killing that swept the countries at the time, Kirigakure and its nearby clans were not spared. One small settlement, whose origins were never truly disclosed, a mother had attempted to escape the killing, carrying the baby on her arms. For a fair amount of time, it would have seem she had truly evaded their would be murderers. However, full of lust given the innate beauty of the mother, and likely their equally rising lust for death, she was sought out. Though the blood and the condition of the terrain indicated that a gruesome battle had indeed transpired, the result would benefit none but Neru. The assailants had been killed, but sadly so had her mother. Ironic and sad as it might have been, the fact never truly affected Neru as she grew up. She was told of the incident, but her expression was largely unchanged. It was not because she was emotionless however. Though her mother likely loved her dearly, her lack of presence in her life made it so that the news were, though unfortunate, nothing more than a bad time. Still, for her own good, the specifics about her mother were kept secret for her own good, and she never bothered to ask.
As a little girl, most could not even phantom that her beginnings were quite so grim. However, given her fortunate and unfortunate dissociation with it, neither did she. Thus, for the most part, Neru was a relatively happy child not different than the others, often playing with a fair number of them. She was always looked after by the village elders, and every now and then, her primary caretakers would switch as different families would oversee her rearing. This made it so that she was never truly very attached to any one family. However, though she never had, or remembered any true familiar love like other kids would enjoy, it was not all completely bad. She couldn't understand love, or familiar bondage in most ways, and likely still, she can't. However, the trend made it so that she was fairly comfortable with a large number of people. She also witnessed and learned first hand the difference in personalities and behaviors from other individuals. As a general rule, most kids, specially when they are fairly younger, think the world revolves around themselves simply because that's the stage their brain is at before it continues to develop. In a way, Neru was forced to learn and mature a little faster than others, and for that, she was always praised.
Upon joining the academy, she wasn't very sure of what to expect or what to want out of her. Since her caretakers were so varied, there was no real goal or expectation set out for her unlike the other kids. She was just told to live, be happy but serve the village well. At that young age, all she could make from that was to follow on the traditional steps most kids did and become a shinobi. She had seen some of the Jounin walking around town, and even then, though not knowing her, most would agree that she likely had a bright future ahead of her. It was that, among other things which pushed her to keep going strong. The lack of a family and support or incentive would have seen her drop out and just have a normal job as she grew up; something she would be contempt with growing old happy, and die. However, the fact that some believed in her to have the potential to be good and do more, was all the inspiration the little girl needed to push on in hopes that perhaps they were right, and if they were...she would be cared for and loved.
During the first year in the academy, she didn't do as well as she should have. She was smart. Very smart. Neru was able to catch up on concepts just as fast as the smartest kids in the class or even faster. However, she tended to be somewhat volatile and aggressive. Perhaps it stemmed out of the fact that some students did not seem as focused as her or were not giving what she thought was the proper dedication to the academy. This resulted in her usually picking on them and thus getting into fights quite often. The worst part was that, during that year, she never really saw her behavior as faulty. In fact, she didn't really think she was doing anything bad. There was no one there to tell her otherwise. The constant punishment from her teachers she saw only as their way to make it easier on the students with whom she had quarrels with. But, like most things, her faulty attitude was a fleeting one.
At the end of the first year, just before or about the time she turned 7, there were some visitors in the class. It was a group of Jounin among which where the ones that had complimented her before attending the academy. After they had chatted with the teacher about the students, they would mingle among them and speak to them for a while. Overjoyed, she would run to a couple of them and greet them, wondering how they were and what they thought of her academics and potential. To her surprise, they were not quite so happy. Instead, as they simply put it, they were extremely disappointed. That day, Neru would not speak. In fact, she would not say another word for the entire week. She was shocked. While most rational people would be able to see why her behavior was not the right one, she had been blissfully unaware. Then, to have the very few individuals who held some hope for her outright say they were disappointed in her brought her hopes and self esteem crashing down.
After spending quite a few days crying herself to sleep and angered with herself, she would attempt to fix it the only way she thought she could. She had to regain their trust. However, she would say nothing to them nor seek them out. The burden of her own guilt and her shame were a bit too much. Instead, she sucked in her pride and her idea on how the students should behave and instead focused solely on herself. From that year on, though her academics were always top notch, they would improve even more. Her skills had also improved tremendously, and with time, her relationships with the other students seemed to improve quite a lot as well. In fact, the development was quite so astonishing that she graduated a lot earlier than most of her peers at the age of 8.
Being a Genin at that age, she didn't quite need to hear the Jounin say it; she knew she had made them proud. However, she truly believed they meant her to go further and become an important individual...likely and hopefully one day a Jounin like them. Thus, instead of seeking the satisfaction of their words at that time she preferred to keep going and just show the fruit of her work down the line. After being assigned to a team, her potential would skyrocket as she continually kept getting better. She got along really well with her teammates, and their teamwork was renowned among the Genin of the time. Her Sensei was very impressed with her as well. She was fortunate enough that, though her teammates were at least five or so years older than her, they were at near equal levels of skill as her and thus training was truly bliss.
Together, the team and their Sensei would embark in quite a lot of missions. Initially, Neru would treat every mission with utmost importance as if they were the toughest ones ever. That's not to say she would no longer care for simpler missions but her outlook would indeed change. Her team, somewhat taking after her, would as well. After some time, the novelty of the first missions would grow off. Then, the simple every day missions were just but chores they had to get done before the real fun would begin. Quite often, the team would use their spare time to go off and spar and train to get stronger. It was quite comical really. While for her teammates, at that age, such behavior given their Genin status was natural, most kids her age were still busy picking their nose and sleeping while she did what most at her age would not.
It was not rare that some of the basics were caught real fast, even more so than other teams. Things like chakra control and the basic knowledge vital for a shinobi that was left out in the academy were quickly picked up by them. In fact, towards the end of their time as Genin, the team had already taken on a couple missions that were usually only given to fairly strong teams of Chunin. It was not something that was done often as it was something that was frowned upon. However, aside from the fairly low availability of shinobi, the team was on near equal standing to Chunin teams and thus always managed to come back having their missions completed.
In due time, at the age of 12, Neru would be promoted to the rank of Chunin. With her, the rest of the team had also acquired the promotion. They had participated in the Chunin exams were their skills were nearly unrivaled and witnessed and acclaimed by many. In fact, the three members of the team managed to land spots in the top 10 of the competition. One managed to be about 8, the other around 4, and Neru attained the number 2 spot. The battle with her opponent, who was quite a lot older and more experienced than her was quite fierce. In fact, statistics had shown it was one of the most heavily attended events of most Chunin Exams given the massive skill displayed by both contestants. However, though she would truly give it her all, and though the battle was as near to a stalemate as possible, at the end, her opponent resulted the victor. Still, though at her age and with her skills, a second place in such event was remarkable, she would never forget that loss. She would develop both a friendship and a rivalry with that person. It was obvious, as most could attest given their display of power, that both individuals would rise to have great power within each of their villages. Though the future would likely have them as friends, though that was to be seen, there was a good chance the two of them would be extremely stronger, and the gap between their powers be near none.
As a Chunin, her team and her were gifted with new and more difficult missions. However, since they had a taste before about the difficulty of their current missions, the adaptation was naturally and very smooth. In due time, Neru was already requesting missions fit for a Jounin. However, though it was clear to most that the team could likely handle them, they were never approved for one reason or another. Thus, the best they could do was take on the tougher missions that were available to them and continue to improve their abilities. Some say, her team may still hold the record or near record for most missions completed by a Chunin team in the village. Though her skills were always on a very inclined slope, rising extremely quickly, she would see a lot of her development occur during these years. Prior to becoming a Chunin, she had become aware of her affinity for the Lightning element and had even made use of it in a variety of techniques. As a Chunin, she would come to know it by heart and master it, making hers quite a lot of techniques. Further into her years as a Chunin, she would come to find out she also possessed the potential to make use her secondary affinity for the Water release.
At these times, though she was still occasionally being helped to train by her teammates in the group effort and even by her Sensei, she took a different approach. Though the skills of the team were near equal, though younger, she had exceeded her peers and was not too far off from the level of skills of her Sensei. Nevertheless, she still needed a bit more. In fact, towards the couple years after, it was not rare that Neru was sent on the occasionally rare solo missions. In fact, on a couple of occasions she even battled against full fledged and new Jounin from other villages. Though, depending on their proficiency, the battles kept getting tougher and her body mauled, for the most part, she was always successful. It was also during the end of her Chunin years that she became aware of her gift, her Kekkei Genkai, and her abilities with it.
There "was" a reason to the occasional change to the red tonality in her eyes. In essence, seeing her opponent's life force to determine and predict a foe's next move or check if they are alive were benefits awarded by the doujutsu. In addition, she is able to transfer some of her own life force to completely heal someone who is mostly dead. For the most part, everyone was unaware of her Kekkei Genkai. As far as she knew, only one or two of the oldest village elders confided on her secret aside from obviously, herself.
By the age of 15, Neru was already long ready to be a Jounin. However, she was aware of the responsibilities that entailed. In the years that had passed, she had changed a lot. Along with discovering her powers and new ways to improve and become stronger and acquiring her Kekkei Genkai, a lot more things had changed for her. Among them, she had made striking changes to her outfit over the last couple years. Having changed her personality for the most part, she was more assertive and given to her tasks but still caring very little about what others thought of her. She wasn't arrogant; at least not compared to others. She simply saw her life, like many shinobi, as likely not extremely long and thus, she saw it best that, while tending to her duties, she did as she wanted, how she wanted. The freedom to choose to wear whatever she decided was among them. Had she chosen to become a Jounin, while she would still wear her regular outfit and not give into the uniform, she would sooner or later need to take a team of Genin to teach them. She didn't want to. Its not that she disliked kids or didn't want to pass on what she had learned. Not at all. Instead, she felt that though she was already quite strong and her power renowned across the village, there was just a lot more she needed to learn. Much like a scientist or a ninja medic, knowledge was vast and endless, and she was far from realizing her full potential, and taking on students earlier than she felt comfortable with would only hamper her.
Initially she was fully expecting to be met with disapproval. Though her contributions to the village were near none, she was sure she would be forced to become a Jounin. However. Instead. The higher ups had agreed to allow her to join the Anbu instead. It took her a bit to notice but she finally did. The elders weren't a bunch of fools. Old and senile as they were, they were genius, and there was a reason to nearly everything they did. Neru's impressive abilities at her young age, her womanly beauty, and her skill with her doujutsu would prove to be significantly important for the village and the Anbu. There had been some concern from the higher ups about even letting her become an Anbu at all. Her skill was obviously undeniable and it exceeded what many had ever seen before. However, her Kekkei Genkai was so extremely rare that the mere thought of losing it made many extremely scared. However, given the sheer amount of potential in the Anbu, her own power and room for success, she was permitted to join albeit somewhat monitored, at least initially...just in case.
As an Anbu, Neru would become an even more powerful shinobi. Quite often she would join teams with the regular Anbu uniform and mask, something she didn't quite enjoy. However, she was also give very unorthodox tasks that matched her very unorthodox persona and which could potentially only be done by her given her abilities. On multiple missions, allowing her to dress in her normal revealing outfit, she would be sent to the areas of the missions with a Squad of the Anbu not so far by. Sometimes she would be tasked with using her Kekkei Genkai to locate the targets and their allies as well as checking on the state of her companions off in the distance at battle, by reading their life force. Other times she would be entrusted to lure men in with her voluptuous body and promises of sexual promises before killing them as she was instructed. Gathering data and spying was also made easy thanks to her dojutsu. The Anbu and the Kirigakure as a whole would see great success and numerous triumphs ever since she joined the ranks, and the decision of letting her do so was celebrated.
However, during a normally trivial mission, Neru and her team were meant with the near unthinkable. Some of the nations had grown tired. Some villages like Konoha, from where the Sharingan and Byakugan were somewhat expected was one thing. However, Kirigakure, who was not really known for having any true Doujutsu save for the extremely rare one Neru and the boy before had, was extremely annoying for other nations. In a carefully set up ambush operation, the enemy forces sought to decimate the Anbu squad, steal Neru's eyes, and kill her. The battle was indeed one of the toughest ones Neru had ever endured, specially since so many enemies had turned up at once when she least expected, and though she could sense them all and see them all with her doujutsu, the numbers were outstanding. The battle would drag on and become quite bloody. Neither Kirigakure nor the other nations could send reinforcements. For the other nations to do so would incite another war, and if Kirigakure did so, it would substantiate the belief that they were tampering and breaking some treaties made, which they had indeed been breaking. At the end of the fight, an extremely and badly injured Neru was recovered from the scene. At the wake of the battle, once all the smoke was cleared, all of the squad of Anbu from Kirigakure and the other nations had been decimated with Neru as the only survivor. However, even then, she had been badly injured like she never had before. Throughout her upbringing she had quite numerous and difficult missions and battles but the odds were never quite stacked so unfavorably against her like that time, which caused her to exert and become quite injured.
Eventually, after having healed, it was decided that it was wise and best not to let Neru rejoin the Anbu. Going deeper undercover would have worked but the elders wanted to minimize any risk of losing the dojutsu. The other nations would not have been so foolish to try an act like that again, but it paid to air on the side of caution. Also, given the near absurd growth rate at which she progressed, it seemed than rather than need protection, Neru would soon, one day, could even become the Kirigakure's protector.
At around the age of 17, Neru would be appointed as a Jounin. Having mastered her use of the Lightning and Water release and being extremely proficient with her twin blades, taijutsu and even more so with her doujutsu, she was quite a force to be reckoned with. Though still relatively young, her name was already widely known across all nations. They knew her by many names: The Beautiful Maiden, The Red Eyed Angel, among others. Initially, she refused to take on a Genin team under the guise that she was just not ready yet. In that time however, she would still visit the academy to check on the incoming prospects and give pointers to the younger generations much like others had done for her when she was a child. Around this time, her taijutsu and ability with her blades would improve tremendously. What's more, she would achieve complete mastery over her dojutsu at this time. By then, there were already talks about her and the possibility, if she was still alive in the future, of perhaps becoming a Kage. However, though she was fully aware of her potential in battle, she never believed she would be Kage material. She found it difficult to believe that if she couldn't even manage a group of Genin, regardless of her skills in combat, she would much less be able to handle and direct a whole village.
Eventually, she would go to do at least one of the two. Around the age of 19, in part after repeated pressure from the higher ups, and in part because she truly wanted, she decided to take on a team of Genin. To her surprise, she enjoyed it a lot more than she thought. The trio that composed her young team was rather eager to learn. She was in fact quite pleased. In more than one way, specially in their attitude, they reminded her of her own when she was that age and younger. During that time, she would fully commit to teaching them as much as she knew. In fact, the dull missions she went on, compared to the fast paced and violent ones she was used to did not seem to bother her at all. It was near comical. At one point in her life she couldn't stand said types of missions and now, when she was much stronger, they were one of her biggest source of amusement as she saw her team tried to get things done. One of the most rewarding things for her however, was to witness the rapid growth of her students as they rushed through the basics and became even stronger like she once had.
In just a couple years, her team would go on to become Chunin, and one of the three, more or less their leader, had even managed to become a Jounin about a year or so later than that. Much like her peers, she was quite impressed with her students and herself. She always saw herself as the shinobi, the battler...but she never quite saw herself as the teacher. It was at that time that she found herself just the slightest bit lost. Though she had taken the role of a Sensei, she had not neglected her training one bit. Without a doubt, she had grown extremely stronger. Teaching had also been something she enjoyed, and while she thought of doing it again, she had her reserves against doing so.
Around the age of 23, the news she never expected to hear came. Kirigakure had no present Kage and she was summoned and presented as a very strong candidate for it. Shock and disbelief were the first emotions she felt. However, given more time to think, it was true she had done a lot for the village. On her stead, the proponents presented her dedication, life-long fulfillment of her duties, her power in combat, and missions accomplished. The success she had with her students, her mastership over her releases as well as her unique dojutsu and its potential were basis for her qualifications. After much deliberation, it was decided she was a great choice for the position of Mizukage, and thus was appointed.
To be more fitting with her position, Neru has become a bit more serious or better yet, mature. On occasions, she is forced to wear a coat, like when speaking to an specially younger crowd. However, even as the Mizukage, she almost always wears her regular revealing outfit everywhere; even when she has meetings with the Daimayo. The latter didn't seem to mind it much and found it funny, unique and mildly amusing. Most did so as well as it added a flare of uniqueness to a very different and unorthodox Mizukage.

Should Crystal have worried? Perhaps. Instead, there was a large smile on Crystal's face. It had portions of anger though it could have been easily described as a sheer reflection of an ominous and sinister look. There was a clear and insidious agenda being prepared, and should the twerp continued acting as stupid as she had, the results would speak for themselves. Pushing with a certain degree of force, she witnessed the girl disappear to resurface above the wall. There was nothing truly special. She was the Captain of the 12th division and possessed a level of intellect that was nearly unmatched save for Captain Commander Tsubasa, and even he had commented on her analytically skills and her prowess making strategies and confusing the enemy. A random foolish child with a head like a pink duster and obnoxiously looking ears was surely not going to get the upper hand. Her attempts, annoying as they were, were laughable, at best. As soon as the push had the hand traveled through where her body had been, the palm of her hand was met with a very soft and spongy white polymer. Having reconfigured the cuffs into the soft pads before her, she had not quite intended to let the weird-looking midget get hurt aside from perhaps a certain degree of hyper-awareness from the events. However, daring to take such bold steps even after doing what she had done. The messy ears-and-duster looking child had managed to push some of her last buttons. And if she was upset and on the edge before, the last set of events had drawn her even farther into the fray. Like an individual witnessing a medical operation and looking at a large amount of blood, Crystal could not help but laugh. She didn't laugh out of the humor of the situation however. In a way, her anger was causing her to laugh. She planned to strangle the child and drown her on her blood...or something like that; she'd just have to make sure to enjoy every bit of it and save some of her organs. Even if her exterior showed someone as stupid as her actions made her out to be, her inner organs should still be of marginal benefit to her experiments. She might actually be of some use.
With Kyu's hand on her wrist, she merely shook her hand to get him off of her. She wasn't upset at him. She truly wasn't. But although she was most often calm and well spirited, she was one not to make upset. Looking momentarily back to him, she had a clear look of anger. In a way, she wanted to say sorry to him for doing that, but in her current situation, a look of raw anger, though not directed at him, was the best he would get...at least the current time. Breathing heavily she locked eyes while he spoke. Though her mind was racing with thoughts on how best to enjoy silencing the life out of the child and harvesting her organs, she was nevertheless listening to his words. Breathing heavily still there was the slightest sense that she had calmed down some but the change had been so subtle one could have just easily said there had been no clear and positive change. Though she saw his point she didn't quite agree with everything. Ted's current status mattered little. It was not the exterior or Ted himself she cared for, but instead the idea of Ted and what he represented. And she could care less if the girl knew or not what she was doing. The damage she made was great and it was only befitting she paid for what she did. Hurting the girl was just a recent thought, for if she had merely gone with their requests she would have been unharmed. Even the tough push from Crystal was going to be softened by her material to assure the child's protection...but now, no more. Instead of responding to him she merely narrowed her eyes as her lips scrounged up in a peculiar yet anger-filled expression. Though the expression might have been foreign to everyone else, Kyu was just about the only person who could read her expression because of the connection they had. Though no real words had been spoken, the expression was one which portrayed acknowledgement for his words but which also did not fully agree with all of his comments. There was no need for words as it should have been clear to him which points she agreed with and which she just didn't give a dam about. Making her hands into tight fists, she closed her eyes for a couple seconds trying to ignore the sheer stupidity of the little girl above. Heck, the blasts she blabbed so much about were truly nothing. It would take nothing more than retrieving one of her latest creations to render the attack useless and what's more, hit her with it. Her arsenal allowed her to deal with twerps like her who needed a strong harsh beating to understand their antics did not fly with other people, and their spoiled nature would get them killed. Heck, if Kyu had not been there, the dumb pink duster would have long been dead in a pool of her dam blood. Nevertheless, thinking a couple of times of her status, it was not right for a Captain to get involved with scum like that. Exhaling once she walked a couple steps as the tip of he left index finger grazed past Kyu's shoulder before his partial transformation took place.
It was not the first time she witnessed it. It was imposing by its own regard. Perhaps because of her current mood and her largely oblivious behavior to most of the situation and the safety of the girl, she did not care what happened to girl, so long as it went their way. Speaking in Kyu's direction she said in a very firm and serious tone of voice unlike any way she had spoken to him before, "Kyu." There was no hate or anger directed at him. Her tone of voice merely reflected someone who spoke from the heart and with utmost seriousness, and definitely not be tested or taken lightly. "I care very little for her. Fact stands. She broke into Seireitei, and whether or not she has permission to be here, she destroyed vital 12th Squad equipment necessary for the Gotei 13. I don't need apologies. I need actions. She has but a few seconds to get her act straight, drop her weapons, and come with us to be assigned a task as a punishment. Otherwise, she will face the consequences." Fixing her glove, she placed a strand of her hair behind her ear. Retrieving her very small sealed Zanpakutō she merely inspected as if checking how sharp it was. letting the tip and the sharp edge of the Zanpakutō graze gently underneath her left glove she spoke, "You have but a short amount of time to take care of the situation Kyu. If you can't do it, I'll step in."
- Combat:
With a smile on her face, she was not surprise at his actions. Sure, guessing his movements, his motives, and his future behavior was not possible. But given his position, and what she expected of him, she would see it no other way. It was obvious by then that the temperature in the field was increasing at a rather hastened and increasing rate. Shocking as it was, it had started snowing. Given the properties of the snow and how they felt, the only guess possible was that it was a byproduct of Iriko's abilities. Most likely a passive ability given his detached nature or the lack of movements that seemed to indicate a connection to it. But no matter. Even with the snow falling from above, it was truly only noticeable quite a few feet, possible even quite a few meters above them. Given the temperature of the field, the snow melted into nothingness much earlier than it would have taken to reach them. She was alright. Not only was she largely immune to the effects of her own ability given the action of others of her own, but she was, for the most part, acclimated to most kinds of weather.
The are wasn't just hot however. It was very, very hot. It was near-impossible for Iriko not to be sweating profusely from his hands and most areas of his body. This was not nearly half of the power of her temperature control but it should have already started to weigh in on her opponent. As the seconds passed by, the ground seemed to become somewhat coarse, being stripped of the little remnants of moisture that might have been present earlier. Her opponent was no different. Sweating as he likely was, dehydration was not far away, even at the controlled level of heat she maintained. Dehydration was the least of his worries. However, other effects were likely not of concern to his well being, at least not at that exact moment.
Still rushing, though not at her top speeds yet, his bubbles did their best to catch up with her. Naturally, not because of a gap in power but rather out of the difference between an ability and the being itself, they trailed somewhat behind her. She recognized their speed as they did indeed trailed her, but it was not close enough where she felt threatened yet. Arms still outstretched, palms facing down, she grinned as her hair grew rather rapidly. Striking the ground with extreme power, it made a number of small holes on the ground. It was obvious, given the action, that the hair was of an extremely durable and tough and at the moment. While most of his sealed bubble attacks would likely not have a profound effect on her hair, perhaps some of the stronger form of his attacks would. Her hair was made not only to be extremely tough and hard however, it was also specially flexible and easily bent so long as she wished it to be when she willed it to be.
Pushing her up rapidly into the air, her hair acted like a form of extremely powerful spring, firing her into the air. Though he could definitely attempt to hack at her hair and cut it, it made little difference if he did so. Assuming there was a strong enough attack to cut her hair, regrowing it at the same speed at which it was caught, or even faster would be as simple to her as breathing. The hair pushed her up at such blinding speeds that it easily matched that of a bala shot, one of the fastest forms of attacks. On top of that, she had used the momentum from her earlier rush and made use of her flash steps to further increase her step. The combine use of the rapid techniques meant her speed of travel was much faster than his attacks could react or follow to, and possibly even faster than he could take notice of. All else being well, she would be nearly on top of him, in any specific position she had willed to end up with, before he could conjure up a concise and prepared form of attack or defense.
Given the extreme speed displayed, it was not difficult for Aiko to bypass and thus dodge the three incoming hados. If he had actually gotten up and at least attempted to move around while he fired them it might have been different, but he had chosen to do what he chose to do. While in motion she spoke rapidly, "Rikujōkōrō. Sajō Sabaku." Before he had time to even blink, six wide beams of light would attempt to slam into his midsection holding him in place, while the second bakudo created a very thick rope, almost chain-like that would bind him strongly. Although Iriko's power with kido was impressive, Aiko was also an extremely powerful kido user as it was likely her best area. The lack of an incantation meant very little as there were few who could summon kido as powerful as her without an incantation. If the latter was indeed spoken well... it would not be a pleasant feeling for the foe.
Since her movements were so fast, it was not rare to see her hair all over the place around her. Whether there was any purpose to it was beyond comprehension, at least for Iriko. As high and as quick as she had traveled, the sunlight from above shun directly behind her likely obscuring or momentarily blinding her opponent. The rays of the sun must have made her hair look somewhat yellowish or golden as it was still rather early. Barely noticeable as it was, she seemed to move her lips extremely fast. It was way too fast for regular or normal comprehension. What she spoke would likely be nearly impossible to decipher and it was difficult to tell whether he ought to be worried about it or not.
