Sanroku was now in the verge of learning one of his most prized techniques; although he does not know it yet. The young shinobi was trying to think about his close quarter combat skills and how it pertains to his winnings in combat. Sanroku concluded that if he didn’t have a well versed fighting style to fight hand to hand then he will most likely be found dead in a war sight someday. In the shinobi world, all shinobi must learn to defend themselves from enemies that are standing in point blank range, thus Sanroku has to appoint himself the responsibility to learn how to defend himself. It was not obvious at first how Sanroku was going to go about thinking of this fighting style and how it is supposed to be used compared to how it is supposed to be perceived. What Sanroku means by this is, being a shurikenjutsu specialist, there isn’t much that he can do in order to fight from close range with short weapons. Thus, the way they are going to be used has to be unique and the way it is perceived, should very well be unheard of. This must be the exact reason to why the Raikage created this mission. If Sanroku learned this fighting style, there would be a lot of shinobi confused at the first sight of this combat ability. The young shinobi began his journey trying to think about this jutsu by first contemplating what weapon will be used primarily. The choices were out of many, and Sanroku needed to choose one wisely since these handheld weapons are all distinctly different, so when one is used to create a certain fighting style, the others won’t be able to replace the weapon and still have it be an affective or even reliable fighting style. The most notable difference would be creating a shuriken based short quarter fighting style, which would consist of extremely close slices compared to that of a kunai, which would give more distance to the slices and even be able to create a dimension of stabbing. The Senbon, would do well in a stabbing motion type of fighting style. Sanroku thought after pondering all of what he had to think about this close quarter fighting style ordeal. It appears like the kunai can both slash, like the shuriken, and stab like the senbon. The thought became clear, the kunai is the perfect weapon. With the kunai, the user would be able to do wonders as it is an extremely short bladed sword, thus a fighting style utilizing this would be able to do a number on a kenjutsu specialist when it comes to preventing the sword from making undesirable contact.

Sanroku grabbed a kunai and held it in a certain angle. Deciding that it would be a deadly fighting style of Sanroku was to create one revolving around the stabbing motion. Sanroku then thought, while this may be a deadly fighting style, it is extremely slow in its deliverance thus making contact would be difficult. Creating a slicing motion appears to have a loose feel for the maneuvering and Sanroku is able to use his dexterity in order to enhance the precision of these attacks. The jutsu was then finaly thought of, and the description was that when the user attacks with the weapon, the user attacks with slashes rather than stabbing motions, focusing mostly on the speed and accuracy, leaving deep and critical slices. While defense with this fighting style consists of mostly evasion and redirection of the enemies attacks focusing mostly on dexterity. If it so happens that the user loses his kunai, then he is able to keep up with the momentum of the jutsu without the weapon, after the one post he would have to get another weapon or dispel the technique. A tanto or otherwise known as a short sword can also be used with this fighting style. This technique seemed brilliant in theory, but now Sanroku needed to put it into practice in order to determine personally how lethal it truly is and how handy it would be in combat. After coming up with the idea of this technique, Sanroku gathered his thoughts and headed to the front desk to get the reward for this mission.
