The edged blade is thin enough to cut but thick enough to withstand some attacks as a semi shield
The way the metal is bent in a folded fan position makes it able to withstand much more than a simple sword or katana
It also can have the symbol of the village one is born into carved into the mid section. Just for pride purposes.

Origin: Given to Hitomi after her becoming a Chunin by her father who wielded this weapon before her.
Materials used: Wooden staff/pole, A wide spread of blade metal in a fan shape but serrated at the edges for a slice effect rather than a chopping effect. It's lightweight and can be held with one hand however if inexperienced one must use two hands to fan up some wind to use.

This will NOT be given to Hitomi until she is Chunin
