Fresh bandages and a fresh mind, Kobachi was surely down, but he wasn't out. Today he was going to hop back into the grove of things and was taking on two missions. Still crippled, so the missions lacked severity though. But that didn't mean that the young Ninja wasn't still applying himself and trying. Armed with a single crutch, a watering can, and a white haired simian Kobachi was ready for his day. One rubber tap against the street at a time as his crutches hit the concrete every now and then he would stop and water a roadside plant. From those hanging in planters to those in window sills, he didn't even know whose flowers they were or if he was supposed to be watering them, but he did. Sprinkle here sprinkle there, soon his whole block had all of its plants watered.
"Oh young man how kind of you to take up my request. Most Genin wouldn't do it because their all obsessed with fighting and things like that. I'm glad there are still some peace loving youngsters roaming. It warms my little old heart." At the woman's words Kobachi blushed and bowed to the best of his ability. Normally he wouldn't take the mission, but due to his condition it was all he could manage and probably all the administration building would give him. "It is my pleasure ma'am. I am glad to help the elderly and I really like it when they are as grateful as yourself, thank you." The woman jokingly shooed Kobachi away and with a wave he went to the other blocks of Kumogakure to water flowers in need. Tall flowers, short flowers, red flowers, blue flowers, the teen didn't discriminate and even paused to give water to a stranded worm who was getting dried out in the sun. Kobachi liked to imagine that the worm had wiggled up and thanked him, but of course that wasn't the case and it simply continued on with its life unknowingly being saved by the teen.
Having started from the village center, he had finally worked himself to the outer ring. He was long done by now, but he found himself in the villages park watering the flowers there. The people who took care of the park took care of those actually, but Kobachi was unaware, so even to the trees the boy gave a small sprinkle of water to. That was until someone informed him that he didn't have to water those plants because people already did. He was surprised to hear it, but was nice to know someone was kind enough to inform him. Waving to the person as they left, Kobachi figured he'd end his day by story telling with the gate guards. By far one of his favorite pass times next to training, but obviously that was out of the question.
"Hey there Kobachi!" One exclaimed as they saw the teen come into sight. Smiling and waving with the watering can in hand, the guards laughed. "Always with the weird things with you. So how you managing with your little affliction there?" The Genin was still busy watering plants that were crowding the village wall, but he spoke loud so that he was heard. "I am doing well with it. I have gotten much used to it and it should be good in a small amount of time if I stay not using it. I also learned to write with both hands while I was not possible to use my right. I still need practice, but I can do the English alphabet with my left hand now." The mans eyes were fixated on the pouring water, before he noticed Kobachi's eyes on him. "Oh is that true . . . hehe, hey could you do me a favor Kobachi." It was a little shady looking, but the man began to look around a bit as if he was about to tell a secret. "I do not see why not as long as it is not bad." His tone was a little serious, but the man understood.
"hehe no it's not. I just need you to watch the gates for a little bit. Watching you water those plants I need to go to the restroom." Kobachi chuckled at the man then nodded. Taking his seat and setting down his watering can, he was excited to be watching the gates. "Ok listen, don't let anyone from another village in until I get back. And make sure people with boxes have a merchants license and mak- ahhhg, I gotta gooo." The man didn't finish his sentence, but Kobachi figured it couldn't be that hard, so he simply waited. Mochi atop his head began to yawn at how boring the job was and in turn so did Kobachi.
He wasn't sure if he did or didn't but the chances were he did doze off a couple times. No one passed by, for heaven's sake not even a breeze gave the teen company as he sat at the gates with a monkey atop his head. "Whew, that was relieving. Thanks a lot Kobachi, did anyone come by while I was gone." Kobachi yawned to the man and shook his head no. "Ah it's been a fairly slow day, so I'm not surprised." Sharing a yawn the man sat in the empty chair across from Kobachi. "See you're getting into the gate guard spirit. The job is pretty tiring when no people enter or exit the village, but someone has to do it." Kobachi nodded to the Jounin and wondered if he would be cursed with the boring job when he was a Jounin. Maybe the man was a slacker as was given the job as a punishment. Examining the man he did look a bit slackerish. Remembering something about the people you hang out with rub off on you, Kobachi then became rather uneasy around the man in fear of becoming a slacker too. Picking up his watering can he stood from his seat and grabbed his crutch.
"I need to begin moving home now. The sun will be down before I get home if I do not start moving now hehe. I move slow with these crutches now." The man nodded to Kobachi's excuse to leave and thanked him again for watching his post. Waving with the watering can just like he arrived, Kobachi headed back home and returned safely.
