Mission:

"Hey Takeshi-kun, do you know why they keep selecting us for all these... errands that they call missions?" The purple-haired girl asked her childhood friend curiously while they were walking through the village streets, in no particular hurry. This was the second errand-like mission that she had undertaken with her friend Takeshi, but at least this one was a little bit bearable. All they had to do was take these packages up to the Administration for the elders in the Village Council. They had collected them from a very brain-dead delivery man at the village gates, and they were now making their way through the crowded streets on their way to the destination. Chikami held the packages she had been allocated close to her chest, her gaze directed upwards a little so she could see over the stack she was holding. 'Surely we can't be too far away now.' She thought to herself, tilting her head to the side as she tried to debate how far away they were from the Administration Building.

She had gotten over the stress of their last mission together, evident by her very cool and calm demeanor. The other mission had been positively ridiculous, so she was more than glad that it was behind her now. While she wasn't too pleased by the fact that they were being given errands to complete for missions, she wasn't about to complain too much. After all, it was better than them actually having to go out of the village fight potentially dangerous foes. She knew that Takeshi would revel in that kind of mission, but she was none to pleased about doing something like that.

Regardless of her companion's earlier answer to her question, she would fall a little silent again and instead focus on their task at hand. In its own way, this mission was slightly important. The elderly people on their village council were indeed very old; she was surprised how they were still alive, half of the time. So they needed all the help they could get. She wasn't sure whether they used to be ninja or not, because they had all lived to a ripe old age. It wasn't lost on her that typically, a shinobi's life expectancy was greatly lowered from that of a civilian's. It was one of the many reasons why she never wanted to become a kunoichi, but here she was, completing missions for her village (in spite of how silly they were) and doing her duty. The pair of young Genin and old childhood friends slowly started to round a corner in Konoha's market district, and staight ahead of them was the place where they had to deliver the packages. 'Not far now.' She thought somewhat cheerfully, briefly turning her attention to the boxes and large envelopes she was carrying. What on earth had the elders ordered? It couldn't help but spark her interest.

Before long, they reached the building and headed inside to the front desk. Chikami stated her name and the business that she and her companion were carrying out, and left the numerous packages with the receptionist for that day. If she had been more vigilant, she would have noticed that many workers gave her slightly worried looks, as if she might lose her cool at any moment (due to the previous experience in this place when it came to missions). The two Genin were thanked for their time and work, given their pay and sent on their way. 'I can go and buy some nice new weapons to be stored inside Ichirou-kun with this.' She thought happily, looking at the small wad of Ryo in her grip. With that, she bid a friendly farewell to Takeshi and asked if he would like to accompany her for the rest of the day to relax. She also eagerly asked him if he wanted to meet her puppet, but she referred to him like he was a person. That aside, if her companion agreed, she would grasp his arm and lead him to the basic weaponry store that she used for stocking her latest creation. Today was at least going to be a good day.

"Hm?"

Takeshi found himself shaken from his thoughts by the sound of his companion's sudden quirie. Her soft, meek voice was so very easy to overlook and the boy very well might have missed the question entirely had he been anyone else. But Takeshi knew the sound of Chikami's voice. It was forever etched in the male's mind and no matter how soft the girl seemed to speak, even if her words were unintelligible, the very fact that she was trying would always manage to register somewhere in the blonde youth's mind.

"'Cause they're all idiots..."

The answer was delivered in a slightly huffy manner. Unlike last time the two had found themselves working together, this time it had seemed as though Takeshi were the one losing his patience. Despite his rather agitated demeanor, it was obvious by the child's body language that he was unable to take their current mission seriously. With a rather bored expression, the blonde youth moved through the streets of Konohagakure, matching his pace with the young girl as he balanced a stack of envelopes and packages solely on his open right hand. Though the expression on Takeshi's face never shifted from the bored affect, he did well to move his arm in accordance to the small stack he was carrying, making sure that the stack didn't spill onto the dirty ground below.

"I didn't become a ninja to become a pet sitter or a mail man."

As the child spoke his pace began to speed up ever so slightly, steadily creating a small gap between him and his companion in an attempt to instill a sense of urgency in the girl. Takeshi wanted desperately to finish this poor excuse for a mission and Chikami was moving far too slow for his liking. Rather than say anything and bring it to the girl's attention, the boy figured that she'd try to match his speed as they neared the administration building.

At their quicker pace, it didn't take the two long to reach their destination and upon reaching the front desk, Takeshi moved to drop the pile rather carelessly in front of the receptionist. With a small grunt the man moved quickly to catch the leaning pile moments before it spilled over him and on the floor. With a small grunt Takeshi shifted his posture, peering around the stack so that his greenish blue eyes met the man's own orbs.

"I hope the next one isn't as stupid as the last two you've given us."

Before the man had time to respond though, Chikami was there, clarifying just who they were and what they were doing in a rather formal fashion that seemed far more appropriate than the actions Takeshi had taken. This sudden shift in tone seemed to cause the receptionist to all but forget Takeshi's remark and mannerisms as he offered words of gratitude toward the young female before handing her the payment for the service, both hers and Takeshi's share bundled into a single roll. Without another word Takeshi accompanied his friend out of the building, only to stop once the two had cleared the doors and were once again outside. Once stopped, Takeshi's eyes moved in Chikami's direction, his mouth opening in preparation to ask for his share of the ryo before the girl suddenly posed her question.

"I should probably be trying to train but...I guess it couldn't hurt to come along."

The boy tried to play it cool, his eyes moving away from the girl for but a moment as though he were truly contemplating the offer. That split second was all that was needed though for Chikami to suddenly grab at his arm, leading the blonde mail by his captured limb as they made their was off toward the village proper; all while Takeshi silently wondered just who this "Ichirou-kun" was.
