Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Missions:

Itsuko had thought himself a clever man ever since he was young, his mother had told him so as well as the people who inhabited the small fishing village, located west of Kirigakure. They song praise upon the boy, he being very intelligent for his age, and believed that he would make a fine shinobi. Or at least, a fine man who could protect their home from those who choose to disturb the century of peace from the shadows rather than taking advantage of said peace. Actually, now that he thought about it, people were technically taking advantage of the peace, for without shinobi constantly patrolling the lands looking for enemy shinobi, crime has flourished. He knew this second hand, for when he had been seventeen, the small fishing village was taken over by the Powell mafia. He couldn’t prevent the takeover, being one individual who had nothing but his minimum martial arts training against an entire gang.

He had let the people down, he knew that despite them saying otherwise, and promised to make it up to them. Itsuko had joined the group under the pretense of wanting to join, but really he was there to infiltrate it and only that. So he had, building his reputation within the family and quickly advancing up the ranks. On the side, he made deals with a rival family, and seven years later he had finally completed his task. He had stolen the documents the Moriarty family had desired in exchange for liberating the fishing village from the Powell family. Yet, despite having a wealth of information about the Powell family, he hadn’t the knowledge of their allies. One such ally was the Setsuro family, and when he had stolen the documents from the Powell family he had also taken documents pertaining to the Setsuo family

The Setsuro family was a powerful family; owning a good deal of small villages, controlling trade between the Powell and the Moriarty villages, and were in the drug trade. They usually didn’t get themselves mixed any other families business, and weren’t about to break this tradition, yet when the Powell mentioned that the documents stolen could destroy their reign, well they weren’t going to take that lying down. So the Setsuro deployed one of their few trusted mercenaries and her student to retrieve the documents and murder Itsuko. That person had been Haruna Oshiro and Chikara Shurajo.

The two were speeding in the forest, leaping from tree limb to tree limb for they desired to catch up to Itsuko before he exit the Powell’s territory. It helped that the two knew what route the man would be taking, preventing the two from going on a wild goose chase, but that didn’t mean that they could calm down right now. And they wouldn’t relax until the traitor was dead and the documents placed into the much more capable hands of the Setsuro family. What the family did with the documents afterwards was none of their business, but there was just no way they would be handing the documents back to the Powell’s for they were clearly incapable of protecting them.

To be frank, Haruna hoped they Setsuro family burned the documents, for there was no reason for anything to be recorded on paper. And if their thoughts didn’t immediately turn to getting rid of the documents, she shall impart some words of wisdom. Until than, there was a man to track and kill, and she could see his running figure up ahead. She motioned Chikara with her hand to stay behind the man as she intercepted him, the red haired Genin nodding her head in understanding. Haruna sped up, advancing in front of Itsuko before jumping down from the tree, landing on the ground softly. He stopped immediately, turning to go the other way, but halted those plans when he saw the Shurajo.

“Yo Mr. Itsuko. You have something on you that doesn’t belong to you, and my client wants them back!” Haruna said, placing her left hand upon her hip and holding her right hand out to her side. “Will you hand it over willing or shall my associate and I take them by force. Either way, we are walking away with those documents.”

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

Chikara had never expected that Haruna had regular clients, she just seemed like the sort of person who didn’t work for the same person more than once. So, when the Oshiro announced that their latest client was a regular, she had definitely been surprised. She had told the Oshiro so, but the blonde haired child had told her it was nothing to be surprised about and that she had a few clients who were regulars. It was how she built her clientele, though her list is short and secretive, hence why she had never told the Shurajo of it. They were partners now, that didn’t mean that after next week that they would be, though Chikara wanted Haruna to stick around and meet Amatsu. But she knew that she couldn’t force Haruna to do anything, at least not yet.

Told to gear up, Chikara scooped up Kurisu, kissing the top of his head before placing him inside of her jacket. She heard her pup yawn, and she chuckled knowing that the poor lethargic thing was probably tired. It was of no matter though for he would have plenty of time to nap as the Oshiro and herself traversed the forest in pursuit of their assigned target. Apparently there was a mission the two would be doing immediately after securing the stolen documents, but Haruna stated that she wanted for her to focus on the current mission and thus didn’t tell her the second mission details. The Shurajo didn’t argue with the Oshiro’s decision, for she would get the mission details after killing the target and dropping the documents off at the Setsuro family’s residence.

Five minutes later and the two headed out, hoping from tree branch to tree branch as they headed in the direction of the Moriarty territory, bent on making sure that Itsuko didn’t make it out of the Powell territory. It would be much faster to do it in the Powell’s territory, but they would continue to pursue the target even if they run into enemy territory. There was few things the duo couldn’t handle when it came to the common thug who had no shinobi training, and so Haruna nor she were worried about running into trouble. But, as stated before, it would be better if they caught him whilst he was still in the Powell’s territory. As the sped through the forest under the cover of the trees, the Shurajo kept her eyes on the road, looking for Itsuko.

The motion of the Oshiro’s hand was caught by the Shurajo’s peripheral vision, a signal that the man had been spotted and that she was to stick behind him as she proceeded in front of him. Chikara eyes glanced down for a brief moment before nodding, eyes focused on the target. “Up Kurisu. We found our target,” Chikara would say to the wolf pup, briefly glancing down as his ears perked up and his eyes snapped open. She didn’t look long enough to see the pup yawn, for she saw Haruna descending to the ground and she did the same. Much like Haruna, Chikara landed softly, and the man who had been ready to run back the way he came immediately came to a standstill upon realizing that the Oshiro wasn’t alone.

“Where do you think you are going?” Chikara said, tilting her head to the side. She grinned at Itsuko as Haruna spoke, albeit his attention wasn’t on her but one that of the blonde haired female. She really didn’t mind, Haruna looked much more threatening than herself and she had been the one to gain his attention first. She dropped into a fighting stance, quite ready to launch herself at Itsuko whenever Haruna deemed it ready. With a flick of her hand, Chikara launched herself at the man, with his back to her, he hadn’t noticed the danger he was now in. And it would take a moment for him to realize even after she punched the living day lights out of his, taking his breath away.

His back arched back and he dropped onto his knees, and Haruna very calmly wrapped her fingers around his neck. She would strangle him to death and upon doing so, collect the documents. “Done?”

Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

“Not quite,” Haruna said upon retrieving the documents, tucking it securely underneath her arm. She spun on her heel, now facing away from Chikara as she got a bearing of the surrounding area. She hadn’t been to concern with making sure she didn’t enter the neighboring territory, thusly so she had to gauge how much farther the Moriarty estate was compared to the Setsuro estate. She should drop the documents off first, but if the Moriarty’s estate was closer she would prefer to get the second half of the mission over with. There was somebody that she would be meeting either after the mission or a couple days afterwards, for she would had kept her promise to Chikara. It may have only been a week, but the Shurajo had learned at least the basics of how things worked in the criminal world and now it was time for her to complete her end of the bargain before the Oshiro went any further with the kid’s training.

She closed her eyes, hunching her shoulders forward as she sighed deeply. The Setsuro estate was closer, and that made her very disappointed for she would have to go back a mile, drop off the documents, and than head five miles out to the Moriarty estate. Troublesome, but the safety of the documents should be secured, especially since travelling four miles with them in hand could only end in diseaster. She once again spun on her heel, now facing her red haired student before walking. “We have to drop these documents off before we continue with the second half of the mission,” she said, walking by the Shurajo, “do stay close.”

An hour later the Oshiro and the Shurajo were on the road once again, having been held up longer than expected by their employers. Tea and cookies were very nice, but not when she was focused on getting the job done though their host had certainly forgotten that or didn’t care. She knew she wasn’t familiar with the individual, for her client would never dream of holding her up at his abode, and that meant who ever had greeted them wasn’t familiar with how Haruna operated. But she had kindly accepted the tea and cookies, drinking the tea as a lady would and eating the cookies slowly. All the while, the Shurajo had stared at her with those crimson eyes, having politely declined both the tea and the cookies.

Despite her polite and calm demeanor, Haruna had been very happy when she and her companion were finally allowed to leave. “Now that we are out of that pickle,” Haruna said, glancing over her shoulder before turning on attention on Chikara, “it’s time to go over those mission details that I haven’t told you yet.”

“The Setsuro family isn’t all too happy that the Powell family had lost the documents, even more unhappy when they found out that the Moriarty had something to do with it,” the Shurajo heard the Oshiro said, as the two walked down the dirt path to the Moriarty estate. The duo were losing light quickly, but Haruna didn’t seem to care all that much for she continued to feel her in on the mission details that she had neglected to tell her before the events of the previous one. “Despite being very upset with the Moriarty family, and ticked off at the Powell’s, the Setsuro have decided that this was a perfect opportunity to close a deal they have had for years.”

“Deal?” Chikara interrupted, cocking her head to the side as she imagined what sort of deal it was. She knew it was nothing petty, for Haruna would never associate herself with such a family, which left very few options. She may have become use to the world of crime, but she still didn’t fully understand their motives and thus had a hard time discerning this one. Yet, she wouldn’t have to wonder for long, for Haruna would answer her question as if she knew that her young companion was having a hard time figuring things out.

“The Setsuro family has wanted the Moriarty family to merge with them for quite sometime, for they want to expand their territory. With them having the Powell’s in their back pocket, well they don’t have to worry about that family all too much. Especially if the family is incapable of protecting important information that should had never been written down in the first place.” Haruna explained, sparing the Shurajo a single glance, watching as the gears behind those crimson eyes spun. A minute later, Chikara would utter a barely audible ‘oh’ before asking Haruna to continue which the Oshiro did.

“So, since the Moriarty had decided that they would steal from an associate, the Powell’s which the Setsuro really could care less about it, they had decided that they shall rob the Moriarty’s of important documents in retribution.” Haruna looked at the Shurajo for a brief moment before directing her attention back on the road. “So the Setsuro have tasked us with infiltrating the Moriarty estate and raiding their documents, without getting caught and under the cover of darkness.”

Haruna paused, and the information sunk into Chikara’s brain, glancing at the Oshiro for a brief moment before sighing. “I see. How are we going to manage that though? Back door? Front door? The window? Or do you know the layout of the land?” Chikara cocked her head to the side, “how?”

“How doesn’t matter because I am going inside alone. And you are going to stand outside and keep watch, making sure that nobody notices me as I scale the wall. We shall meet a mile South of the estate. Got it?”

Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Haruna knew that Chikara would be rather upset at not being able to infiltrate the estate with her, but she wouldn’t change her mind. Not even as the Shurajo whined about how unfair it was that she didn’t get to have some of the action and that it had been done on purpose. She knew the kid was attempting to manipulate her by guilt tripping her, and she made a mental note that the kid was certainly become more manipulative though she doubt the kid knew that, but it wouldn’t work. That was obvious by how she was the only one within the estate, having scaled a gate than a wall to get into the building. She had made sure Chikara had gone from the area before she began the job of locating where the Moriarty family kept their important documents.

Under the cover of darkness, Haruna crept along the wall, back pressed firmly against it as she made her way throughout the house. Every so often she had to stop and evade the night watchmen, a task that had been hard to achieve due to the fact the only warning she received was the sound of their footsteps. For some reason, they walked around with the lights off and only turned them on when they think they heard something. Clever, for most wouldn’t expect them coming without their lights on. No matter, she could still very easily complete this job whilst listening for the guards.

She crept some more, loathing the fact that the building had so many rooms, but soon enough she would arrive in what she believed to be where all documents are kept. She only believed them to be important because the door had been locked, and boy did she enjoy wasting five minutes unpicking it. Yet she managed to unlock the damn thing and quietly opened the door, slipping into the room before closing the door softly behind her. The room was dimly lit by the light of the moon that streamed through the window, much to her thanks, and she spent a couple minutes within the room ensuring that she picked out the most discriminating document.

Deemed that she had it, she left the house from the window, having no reason to go back the way she came. And once she was out of view, she went to meet up with Chikara. “Got ‘em,” she would say, holding the papers in her hand, “let’s go.”

Chikara Shurajo

The Crimson Princess

Chikara had been one displeased Shurajo when Haruna had stated that she would have little to no part in the infiltration of the Moriarty estate. Sure, she got to keep watch, but that hadn’t actually been hard to do, for it seemed like no one patrolled the outside of the manor. She had done a good deal of complaining as they made the trip to the manor, stating how on fair it was that Haruna got to infiltrate the manor and she didn’t as well as other things. Yet Haruna wasn’t going to change her mind, she was as stubborn as a mule. Chikara had only silence her protest when they arrived at the gates and Haruna still hadn’t changed her mind. The two scaled the gates, and she watched as Haruna scaled the wall.

With the Oshiro inside of the manor, the Shurajo did as she was instructed earlier to do, and that was to head South and wait. Arriving at the location hadn’t been difficult at all, for dashing a mile wasn’t even a work out for the Shurajo. And than the waiting game began, and boy did she wait a long time. It had probably been an hour, an hour she spent playing with Kurisu though she wished she had brought Arisu. Kurisu wasn’t the playful type, he liked to have his fur stroked and sleeping on her lap. So she had only managed to play with the pup for thirty minutes before she sat down, her back to a tree as she pet the sleeping Kurisu.

Finally, thirty minutes later, Haruna arrived, holding up the documents with a grin upon her face. She picked up Kurisu when the Oshiro said it was time to go, and followed her back to the Setsuro estate.
