Big Monster in Little City [Axel/Alder] [Topic Done]

It was that time again! What time again you ask? Time to do a mission for bettering Konoha and it's allies, that's what, and today the Leaf's fine shinobi would be assisting a small town in the Western region of Hi no Kuni, called Crater City. Apparently, this poor town has been subject to a huge reptile destroying their city by night and thus, killing many citizens. They had just recently sent a plea for help to the Fire Country's Shinobi Village, Konohagakure, and now it was time to help out!

Today, Kamui was dressed in black robes embroidered with red roses at the sleeves. He wore a red obi with this, and red haori with the Senju Clan sign on the back in black. He wore his hair tied up high with a red ribbon, and at his right side he carried with him two swords. One was a massive Nodachi he called Jizo, the other was a katana he called Akemi. He wore wooden geta sandals on his feet, elevating his height even more, making him like unto a tower of a man though his appearance was feminine for the most part.

He had the scroll containing the mission information held in his hands, looking over it a second time, while he waited outside of the Hokage's office building for his two teammates whom he'd be going with today. Once they'd arrive, they'd set off for Crater City, and find out about this dragon and hopefully stop it's reign of terror.

Axel Rover woke up early, like everyday. his eyes attempted to open, but the intense ray of sunlight coming from the window behind his bed forced them to go back under his eyelids, thus sending the boy off into sleep once again, but only for about 10 minutes. Once Axel regained consciousness, he knew that the same light would hit his eyes again, so he decided to sit up, then opened them. This time it was success, and so the chunin was ready for today, which would send him to the administration building to get another mission, and hopefully a good one. Axel got out of his bed, went to the bathroom, took a shower, and once he was out, he dried himself off with a towel then put on his usual clothing that was waiting by the door, which included a white T-Shirt, a grey collared shirt with a black tie over that, and a white overcoat with green stripes over that, then underwear, black pants that you would see on a school boy, a black belt, black socks and finally black shoes. After that was done with, Axel would go back to his room and equip himself with his katana, a large amount of kunai and shuriken, and a small amount of smoke bombs and explosive tags. After that, feeling that he did not have any time for eating, since all the good missions were always gone quickly, the boy dashed to his front door, opened it, exited, then slammed the door back in it's place, running to the administration office.

Once he got there, Axel saw his squad leader Kamui, with a mission scroll in her hand, which relieved him, because it seemed that they were going on a mission together, or else the senju would not be waiting outside of the office, unless he was going with someone else, but Axel doubted that and walked towards his sensei.

"So, sensei, we going on a mission? Great, let' do this!" Axel said with a smile on his face as he approached Kamui. He did not even ask if he planned to take him on the mission.

Early this moring there was tap on Alder’s window not of the same rhythm that normally played.  Today a different bird had shown up.  This one wasn’t coming to him for anbu purposes but instead a standard mission.  Getting dressed he quickly grabbed a bagel and some fruit and was out the door quickly.

Today’s mission would be to go to crater city to tackle a monster that had been doing harm to the city.  Alder took now mission lightly so he prepared himself mentally and check his equipment just like he would do on any other mission.  When he was ready he join the others at the gate.  Kagura would not be giving out the mission today but someone else was often with her when she did.

Exiting the Kages office Alder headed for the gates this would not be an Anbu mission so he didn’t have his mask nor the armor he typically wore.  Instead it had been replace with green vest with high collar the standard flak jacket.  He has not been on a mission with either of them but already knew a bit of what they were capable of.  Kamui being a Senju who had unlocked the mokuton ability and Axel they had sparred.  But who knew how far he had come since back then after all look how far Alder had come well least hopefully.

“Greeting Kamui-san and Axel-san.  I will be supporting this mission today.  I understand that you are members of the same squad.  I hope I am able to be an asset to your team work.” Extending a friendly smile it was good to feel sun on his face instead of hiding in the shadows.

Kamui had waited around outside of the Hokage’s office building while he waited for his teammates to arrive. He didn’t yet know who they were, but he knew that there would be two of them. While he waited, he tapped his foot and he looked up at the sky, until he’d hear the sounds of soft footsteps approaching his way on the paved road.

Now, Kamui Senju’s attention was drawn to none other than his Genin, Axel Rover. He was a nice teenager with short brown hair, and for some reason he liked to wear ties with T-shirts, but that was ok, Kamui guessed. It was either a new fad kids had now, or Axel was an anti-fashion kind of kid. At any rate, Axel walked up to his Sensei and greeted him, eager to go on the mission.

Kamui smiled back at the boy, and he’d say cheerily, “Alright. I’m glad to see you’re ready to tackle the assignment. This is an A rank mission, and we’ll be traveling to a location in the western provincial area called Crater City. We’re going to locate and drive away or destroy a huge monster that’s been plaguing the town, killing it’s people in a series of destructive attacks.”


As they set off for the gates t wait for the third member of the party, he would show up. The man was a little shorter than the towering form of the purple haired Senju, but this man was nonetheless noteworthy. He had dark red hair, green eyes, was light skimmed with freckles, and wore dark colored attire. Kamui knew this man because he had been affiliated with the Uzumaki Can in recent years, since he had been engaged to Fumiko Uzumaki, a previous Uzumaki Clan Head’s daughter. This man was Alder Uzumaki, the new Clan Head of the Uzumaki. The Senju Jounin greeted the man with a bow, and said,

“I assume you got all the details of the mission then, Alder-San? And yes, I have no doubt you’l be a VIP asset in this team for the task. Now....”, he said, looking from Aler to Axel, and he’d finish up on, “Shall we get going? We have a lot of traveling to do to get there. If we keep on, we can get there by tomorrow.”, and with that, he’d turn, flash a smile at his Konoha comrades, and walk out of the gates. Next stop, Crater City.

The next day, after taking a short rest for a few hours in a makeshift camp, the Uzumaki, Senju, and Axel Rover would get up and set out for Crater City. They’d get there within the next hour, and once there, they’d meet with the City’s Leader, a man named Omashu Komaru.

Komaru would tell the three Konoha-nin, “Ah, welcome to Crater City! I am sorry it doesn’t look like much, but you know what we’re dealing with. The monster is a giant dragon, sad by most to be twenty to thirty feet tall and fifty feet wide. It attacks in the night, setting homes on fire and eating people, their pets, and it also has killed nearly all of our livestock. Please, you must stop it. We expect it will come back tonight.”, Komaru pleaded.

Kamui Senju nodded, looking serious but pleasant about the matter, and he would say calmly, “Don’t fear Komaru-Sama. This is why we’re here. We’ll do our best, and we’ll stop this dragon.” Now....it was time to go around the town, talk to the victims of the attacks, and prepare for war against the beast.

It seemed that there was another person meant to accompany Kamui on a mission, but fortunately he was also apart of the group. After this person got close enough to the two, Axel recognized him as Alder, the jonin he had once sparred with. The young chunin respected the red-haired man for that, and would love to partake in this mission with him. After all three of them were present, the group began to leave Konohagakure, and began to walk towards the location that was Crater City.

"Just watch guys. I will show everyone my new jutsu I have been working on against the beast, so you can say this mission is basically a done deal," Axel said to his comrades, being a little overconfident. He did not even know what this beast was, yet the boy was prepared for anything. After walking a few miles, the group decided to make camp and rest for a few hours. After those hours had passed, the three got up from their slumber and continued walking to Crater City. Soon enough, the trio made it, then spotted the leader of the city outside next to some burnt down houses, mourning the dead. His name was Omashu Komaru. After Kamui was finished talking to the man, the group figured out that it was a dragon they were facing, which made Axel a bit nervous. He never saw one of these beasts in person, but he heard that they were quite destructive. After that, the three began talking to people around the city who witnessed the dragon's destruction, but they did not really bring forth anything that the leader of the city didn't already, so after a few minutes, Axel suggested that they just meet the priest alrady so that he could send them to this dragon, and they did. They found the priest in the town square, and after ordering him to bring them to the dragon, he did. They traveled south of the city about two miles, until they saw a cave.

"He is in there, though I suggest you lure him out of the cave and then begin the fight. No telling what is inside of that dark chasm," the priest said, then took his leave.

"Alright guys, Let's get this done," said Axel, full of enthusiasm with a smile on his face. The trio were now only a few meters away from the cave when they heard something.

Despite his Jounin being present it would be Alder to speak up first.  It was different inside the village sparing against comrades where the stakes weren’t high.  But they were leaving the village while some of the lower ranked missions were potentially life threatening this mission an A ranked one was guaranteed to be. Over confidence lead to clouded judgment, rash decisions and death.  “This is an A rank assignment don’t let your over confidence put your comrades and this mission in jeopardy.  Nothing is decided with one jutsu because that’s not what makes a shinobi.”

Over the next day Alder wouldn’t be overly chatty but as amiable as one could while on a mission and still remain vigilant. This mission didn’t truly start till they got to Crater City so there wasn’t supposed to be any immediate danger to them until they reached the beast.  But experience had taught Alder that there was always danger to be had on the road.  Old enemies faced in combat before and those who wished to harm you because of the village you were from.  During the journey Alder remained calmed he wasn’t worried because he was as prepared physically and mentally as he could be.  He trusted in the people who gathered them as squad.  If they believed that Kamui, Axel, and himself were the best or at least adequate for the job then so did Alder.  Amongst them they a close range specialist, short to mid-range, and one who could handle long to short.  They also had the ability to extinguish the flames and multiple forms of defense.  No one could predict the future at least not in Konoha but based on the information provided this mission was looking positive.

When they got to the city he let Kamui take point with the client.  As Omashu Komaru spoke he Alder listened casually it was apparent that he had not seen the monster for himself so his information about size was only speculative.  The nature of damage was obvious for anyone with eyes and mouth so instead on rely on what he said Alder made his own calculations of how large the beast was, he was even able to approximate its speed and dexterity.  This was done based on how the buildings were damaged things that were damaged by something moving fast were broke differently than slow moving forces.

Alder would not walk with the others in their trek to cave instead he would remain 50m traveling west of them.  That way if they were headed to mouth of cave then his sent would not be blown directly into it.  When they saw the cave Alder would scale it so that he would be above the opening and the creature when it came out.  Should climb become too difficult of he needed to move to another location faster Alder knew he could rely on his chakra chains.

And so, Kamui was accompanied by his Konoha comrades, his confident student Axel, and the Jounin and Leader of the Uzumaki Clan, Alder. The three of them had made it to Crater City unscathed, having no run-ins with thugs or anything else really dangerous. Nope. Travelers, squirrels, some deer, and even a rhinoceros weren’t a threat to a band of three experienced Shinobi.

After they had camped and made their way wet to Crater City, they had talked to the Village Leader, Omashu Komaru, who gave them the rundown on the situation, and Kamui had promised the man they’d do their best to take care of the problem. Now, after walking through the city and examining the destruction, calculating this to come up with the true destructive force of the beast (what Alder was doing quite well), Axel had suggested that they go and talk to some random Priest who knew somehow exactly where this dragon dwelt by day. The Shinto Priest sent the band on it’s way towards a very large cave on the far outskirts of town. Kamui would head this way directly with his student, wary of danger, keeping his wits about him, and his will to protect and aid his student in this endeavor, while the ANBU rounded about a different path, taking an alternate route, and positioning himself above the lip of the mountain’s opening, so as to take surprise of the beast, while basically Kamui and Axel would lure the huge creature out as soon as their human scents wafted through the dragon’s domain.

“No need to go closer, young one...”, Kami said to the eager Axel. For, from deep within the cave now, a booming sound was heard right after a rough grating sound...like something being slid across sandpaper, and then a huge stone beam crashing into place in a construction lot. It was obvious the dragon was awake....yes....and now.....CAME THE INERNO!!

Kamui made quick work with his hands, sealing the kata of the Ram, and welling up a massive amount of Suiton chakra from his throat that quickly turned into a huge wave of water, rushing towards the large amount of fire that came out of the cave in attempt to fry Kamui and his Student to a cinder. The water successfully took out the flames, creating steam and a bit of black smoke upon impact.

The dragon roared furiously in anger that it’s attack had not met it’s mark! He came trampling through the cave, fighting against the waves of water that rushed at him, and finally, he came out of the cave, only to be caught up in a huge sphere of water that had formed from the large wave. Kamui felt both relief for his student’s well being, and grief for the magnificent arcane beast who’s fate was about to be sealed.

“NOW!!”, kamui yelled, queuing for his comrades to strike the beast while it was caught. The dragon flailed about in the water, confused, trying not to drown. Kamui stood there, looking sternly and seriously at the beast. If it should escape, he had a technique that he could use within the sphere of water to make things more difficult for the dragon, and whittle down it’s vitality.

Alder was now at the top of the cave, hoping he could get an attack from above on the dragon should it decide to come out of hiding. Axel and Kamui were now just a few meters away from the cave, but the boy wanted to go further in, to which his sensei responded with words of calm to stop his eagerness. Though the chunin was wearing to go, he ran away from the entrance once the target of there curiousness emerged. a large black dragon it was, meters tall like the Crater City leader had described, though Axel expected a dragon to be much bigger due to all of those books he read about them. Even though he was not humongous, the beast still was able to do harm. Before it exited the cave, it attempted to burn the two to crisps, but Kamui unleashed a water style jutsu that stopped the fire and it even formed into a giant sphere around the dragon, so now he was right outside of his cave, trapped, and drowning. It was smart enough not to breath fire at the moment, since the water would heat up and cause him some discomfort.

“NOW!!”, shouted Axel's sensei, hoping that his student and the jonin accompanying them would attack this ferocious animal, if you could even call it an animal. Axel tried to find a way to help his cohorts defeat the dragon, but there was very little that he could actually do at this time, due to it being incased in water.

'Welp, I guess there is one thing that might help, though I hope it doesn't disrupt Kamui's technique,' Axel thought, then he got out five kunai and attached an explosive tag on each of them. The dragon was suspended in the air about 10 meters above Axel and was 20 meters away from him, so distance-wise, the kunai were sure to land near the target, since the holder was quite experienced with weapons. Two were in his left hand between his fingers, and two were in his right hand between his fingers. After a few seconds, he threw them with great speed upward, and they successfully dived into the water. They did not stop until all five were near the head of the dragon. That was when Axel formed the seal activating the explosive tags, thus setting off the huge explosion that followed. It seemed as if the sphere of water was in tact still, but at this point it was steaming. All of the bubbles floating around hid the dragon's face, so all the group could do was wait to see the outcome.

Equipment:

Arriving at the top of the caves entrance Alder had intended to jump down when the beast came out and attacking him from behind his neck where he would not be able to defend himself. However as the flames were extinguished and the water grew into a large bubble that would incase the creature Alder’s plan would adapt. Using the massive amount of water to conduct his strongest longest range lightning jutsu Alder made the snake hand sign. From his mouth shot out a straight laser like beam of electricity with head shade like spear. Alder would aim the beam at that the creatures neck but because of the massive suiton jutu it would spread out over the entirety of its body. From the dragon came the most horrible of sounds that could only be its way of screaming. Alder felt sorry for it the sound would ring in Alder’s ears long after actually stopped falling limp in the water. With that Kamui released his jutsu letting the creature fall to the floor. With their mission completed Alder would carefully get to ground level. Their team work had worked out well they had defeated the dragon quickly without incident. It looked like Axel wouldn’t get to show off the new jutsu he had spoken of earlier.

The creature was out cold but it had managed to survive this traumatic ordeal. Focusing heavily on the task before him the atmosphere changed. Removing his vest he tossed it the ground. If he didn’t quickly deal with creature it would die. Placing a palm on the creature his hand glowed, then creature, and the whole area in immediate vicinity was filled with an unnatural light. When the light had fated and the creature could no longer be seen. With this the creature would have opportunity at recovery. After Alder would get home he would transfer the seal to one of his scrolls, that he should have carried with him and then set him free somewhere would he would not be a danger to others. Walking differently it was as if Alder’s body felt heavy carrying the weight of the beast.

“Well mission complete he said lightly. Shall we head back to Konoha?”

If Alder was questioned about his decision he would be respectful yet brief. “We weren’t called to kill this creature just to make sure it didn’t cause these people anymore harm.” Picking up his vest he put it on walked off. Not as if he was trying to be alone but since the mission was done he figured there was no point hanging around. Alder would follow them if they chose to go ban to town and otherwise he would go to Konoha.

Axel had went into action, throwing a bunch of kunai with attached explosion tags into Kamui’s sphere of water that had encircled the giant reptile. The explosion that ensued was painful it seemed to the monster, but it only really agitated him, so that the dragon thrashed around more within it’ confines, slowly drowning to death.

Kamui was proud of his student taking initiative, but it was clear to him that the boy needed to learn better techniques to deal with such large beasts. If there was ever a Bijuu attack, for example, a few explosive tags wouldn’t do anything to it at all but maybe cause a slight itch. Luckily though, the Bijuu hadn’t been spotted in a very long time, not even in Kamui’s own lifetime.

Now, Alder went into action, using a Raiton technique which encompassed the area of the water sphere, further conducting the electricity, and from this, the dragon would be defeated as it fell unconscious after a horrible deafening screech was heard through the bubbles made in the water. Kamui was really glad they hadn’t heard the true sound it had made or else they’d probably all lose their sense of hearing for a while. Now though, since the dragon was defeated, Kamui would negate the affects of the giant water sphere, allowing the dragon to fall to the ground. Kamui didn’t move, but would watch as Alder would seal the dragon into a scroll.

The Senju agreed with the Uzumaki Lord. It had not to be killed, but merely had to stop being a nuisance to these villagers. This was even a better alternative to killing it, kamui thought, for he loved nature and revered it, valuing life over death wherever it was possible to save someone or something.

Replying to Alder, Kamui Senju would say in a soft tone, “Yes we shall. This is a job well done. We did what we were supposed to do, and the dragon didn’t have to die. I am happy. Let’s go home and rest now.”, and with that, Kamui of the Clan of the Forest would turn about and head back the way they’d come. He’d let the Village Leader he had spoken to know that the dragon would no longer be a threat to Crater City, and then they’d start on their journey back to Konoha.
