Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems Learni10

Here on NN we have three current ways to learn new jutsu that can be used for your character and below you will see the how you can use these three ways.

Purchase: On NN or Naruto Nexus, whichever you prefer - you are able to buy techniques/jutsus with ryo. Each rank has a set cost, obviously, the higher the rank - the higher the cost. In order to buy these jutsus, all you will need to do is post in your Character Updates Thread, a staff member will review it, and you are good to go; an easy process. You are capable of making ryo by completing missions/quests, entering events created by staff, or roleplaying within threads (casual/combat).

80 Ryo = E-Rank Jutsu
120 Ryo = D-Rank Jutsu
250 Ryo = C-Rank Jutsu
400 Ryo = B-Rank Jutsu
500 Ryo = A-Rank Jutsu
1000 Ryo = S-Rank Jutsu

Custom Jutsu Cost
100 Ryo = E-Rank Jutsu
200 Ryo = D-Rank Jutsu
450 Ryo = C-Rank Jutsu
600 Ryo = B-Rank Jutsu
900 Ryo = A-Rank Jutsu
1500 Ryo = S-Rank Jutsu

The second method to obtain jutsu is by obtaining what we call, Jutsu Tokens. Justu Tokens are tokens that are used to purchase jutsus, for absolutely free. Just like the purchase method, these tokens have their own rank and that rank has to be the same as the jutsu you are purchasing. A rather easy thing to understand for many, though sometimes others may not understand. In case it may be a tad bit confusing, I'll have no problem giving a better understanding. For example, if you have one D-Rank jutsu token then you can buy any one D-Rank jutsu for free. If you have one C-Rank jutsu token then you can buy any one C-Rank jutsu for free. To obtain these helpful tokens you can get them from Mission Rewards, Site-Wide Events, Contests, or Gifts.

Word Count: For those that enjoy character development, really filling out your character, and giving them a story - there is word count training. This can also be if you have funds you are saving up for other means, or for any reason; we all know Kinjutsu is expensive. Along with this word count training, there is training with a sensei. If the said sensei possess the technique you are trying to learn, and is willing to assist you in a thread to learn this technique; you will receive a 10% word count reduction. This also enables Genin to learn A-Rank jutsus, while having a reduction on the word count.

100 Words = E-Rank Jutsu
300 Words = D-Rank Jutsu
500 Words = C-Rank Jutsu
1,000 Words = B-Rank Jutsu
1,500 Words = A-Rank Jutsu
2,000 Words = S-Rank Jutsu

Custom Jutsu Training
200 Words = E-Rank Jutsu
400 Words = D-Rank Jutsu
700 Words = C-Rank Jutsu
1,200 Words = B-Rank Jutsu
1,800 Words = A-Rank Jutsu
2,300 Words = S-Rank Jutsu

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems Clone_10

Clone Techniques and understanding

Clone Techniques (分身術, Bunshinjutsu) are techniques that create copies of the user or their tools. Though the standard Clone Technique is considered the most basic of ninjutsu, these techniques are highly versatile, often used to distract enemies or fool them into thinking they have landed a hit on the user. Corporeal clones can aid the user in physical combat, and even use techniques independent of the original. There are varying methods of creating clones, some techniques using only chakra while others require some sort of medium to give the clones form and substance. There are also clone techniques that transform another person or animal into a clone of the user, such as the Beast Human Clone, as well as genjutsu which create illusory clones, such as the Mist Servant Technique. Clones have been noted several times to be reduced in quality from the original in some way, shape, or form.

Clones for all intensive purposes can be a fun, and welcome addition to the site. They offer a unique and variable method, preferred to fighting. We will come right out and say it, there are no "clones" which are perfect carbon copies of users. They will always, always have some deficiency.

Below are some of the restrictions placed on clones

  • Clones which have ranks lower than B cannot leave the same topic as the user.
  • Only Shadow Clones are allowed to leave the users sub-board, as indicated on their specialty level. All others must remain in the sub-board or topic
  • Since clones are a rather difficult technique to utilize, they unfortunately do not return any remaining chakra to the user upon disbursement.
  • Shadow Clones (any type) follow the ninjutsu specialty, in regards to their stats and such.
  • Clones cannot be made of other people, there are techniques that do allow it at some point, however clones specifically cannot.
  • Any clones that last longer than 1 month IRL time, are disbursed except with permission.
  • All clones should be labeled as such if they are outside the users topic, this is to prevent abuse, and "meta-knowledge".
  • There is no such thing as the perfect clone.

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems Elemen10
Most people start with one element, but not all, since learning elements is a rather hard task. Here on Naruto Nexus, elements will be obtained by paying with ryo and also completing a training topic. Keep in mind that juts because you have the basic starting elements, does not mean - any any shape or form, you have gained access to Advanced Elements. Unless, you have the required bloodline, or skill to tap into such an art. Look within the library to see if you meet the requirements for the Advanced Element.

  • To learn your very First Element (If you started with no element) - 1500 Ryo + 600 Word Count.

  • To learn your Second Element - 2,500 Ryo + 2500 Word Count.

  • To learn your Third Element - 5,000 Ryo + 5000 Word Count.

  • To learn your Fourth Element - 10,000 Ryo Requires an Special Characteristic.

  • To learn your Fifth Element - 20,000 Ryo Requires another Special Characteristic.

Requirements For Advanced Elements:

  • To learn an Advance Element mixing two elements - 2,500 Ryo + 1500 Word Count.

  • To learn an Advance Element mixing three elements - 5,500 Ryo + 3,500 Word Count.

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems Chart

As you can see from the above picture as well, each element has a a weakness, and one that it excels against. Water beats fire, fire beats wind, wind beats lightning, lightning beats earth, and earth beats water. There appropriate release names are;

*Suiton - Water
*Katon - Fire
* Fuuton - Wind
*Raiton - Lightning
*Doton - Earth

Water Release: Dominant vs Fire Release.
Fire Release: Dominant vs Wind Release.
Wind Release: Dominant vs Lightning Release.
Lightning Release: Dominant vs Earth Release.
Earth Release: Dominant vs Water Release.

When a element is dominant against its opposition, the stats have a 20% boost in comparing jutsu to jutsu. Such as, a Earth Wall vs a Suiton Wave, 20% would be added to the power/durability of the wall vs the Suiton wave to compare the two, and see which one is stronger.

This is also true of our advance elements, and out Kekkai Tota elements (only two as of now).

Ice Release (氷遁, Hyōton) is created by simultaneously combining the Water and Wind natures.
Dominant vs Scorch Release

Lava Release (熔遁; 溶遁, Yōton) is created by simultaneously combining the Fire and Earth natures.
Dominant vs Ice Release

Storm Release (嵐遁, Ranton) is created by simultaneously combining the Lightning and Water natures.
Dominant vs Blast Release

Boil Release (沸遁, Futton) is created by simultaneously combining the Water and Fire natures.
Dominant vs Typhoon Release

Steam Release is created by simultaneously combining Water and Fire natures. (Used by the bijuu)
Dominant vs Magnet Release

Explosion (Blast) Release (爆遁, Bakuton) is made of the Earth and Lightning natures.
Dominant vs Crystal Release

Scorch Release (灼遁, Shakuton) is created by simultaneously combining the Fire and Wind natures.
Dominant vs Steam Release

Magnet Release (磁遁, Jiton) is created by simultaneously combining the Wind and Earth natures.
Dominant vs Steel Release

Steel Release (鋼遁, Kōton) is created by simultaneously combining Earth and Fire natures.
Dominant vs Swift Release

Swift Release (迅遁, Jinton) is created by simultaneously combining Wind and Lightning natures.
Dominant vs Lava Release

Crystal Release (晶遁, Shōton) is an advance element that is created by expanding on the Earth Element.
Dominant vs Boil Release

Typhoon Release is an advance element that is created by expanding on the Wind Element.
Dominant vs Storm Release

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems Summon10
When it comes down to summons, there should be no Lasting Jutsu Cost to keep the said summon active. For they are living creatures, and also have their own chakra supply at their disposal. With that being said, they have no need to feed off your chakra supply. But, when their chakra pool runs out, or their time limit has reached - they are sent back to their realm. If that does occur, you can no longer summon that same summon within the rest of the topic. The initial cost of a summon is twice the cost of an equally ranked jutsu

  • You must first gain your summon(s) through RP, before they are used within a thread. The word count needed to successfully gain/sign a summon contract is 250 words.

  • Summoning System:

On Naruto Nexus we recognize that there are various types of summonings. Each that are unique onto itself, and are generally suited for different situations. Below, we will go through and present a guide on the inner workings of Summons. In most instances, before the practitioner can summon anything. They must first possess the "Summoning" technique. Kuchiyose no Jutsu is required as a basis for nearly all Summons.

  • Summons pay, the same amount as ninja when it comes down to jutsu cost. It all just depends on their personal rank, when it comes down to how much they need to pay. Lasting jutsu cost rules also applies to summons, if the technique fits the requirements.

  • You may only have three active summons in one topic at the most.

  • Each summon must be bought. The prices are:

C-Ranked Summon: 1000 Ryo
B-Ranked Summon: 2500 Ryo
A-Ranked Summon: 5000 Ryo
S-Ranked Summon: 7,000 Ryo

Depending on the rank of the summon, the summon can only stay active for a certain amount of posts. The post count starts after the post of summoning, the said summon. Please make sure you count your posts correctly, since this really plays a factor when it comes down to your summon being active within a thread.

C-Rank Summon: 16 Posts
B-Rank Summon: 12 Posts
A-Rank Summon: 11 Posts
S-Rank Summon: 9 Posts

Animal Summon:

Before an animal summoning can be performed, a prospective summoner must first sign a contract with a given species. The contract comes in the form of a scroll, on which the contractor uses their own blood to sign their name and place their fingerprints and once signed it is valid even after the contractors death as long as the contract itself remains intact. After this, they need only offer an additional donation of blood on the hand they signed the contract with, mould their chakra with hand seals and then plant the hand they signed the contract with at the location they wish to summon the creature. The amount of chakra used during the summoning determines how powerful the summoned creature can be. It is possible for a summoner to summon a group of the same contracted animal, as opposed to a single individual.

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems B0TJibv

Puppetry is, a form of long range combat for the most part. It is derived from something called the "Puppet Technique" which really isn't a technique, but more of a combat style. It is a unique ninjutsu based fighting style, where the user controls puppets like marionettes to fight for them.

There are 3 important parts of Puppeteer. The first being Puppets, the second being chakra threads, and the third being the various weapons a puppet has.

Puppets:
Puppets (傀儡, Kugutsu) are used as weapons by puppeteers. They are most often humanoid-looking creations, but depending on the creator, can resemble anything. They are fashioned in a manner that uses every part as a weapon, giving the puppeteer a myriad of ways to manipulate it. Puppets are long-ranged type weapons that can be used offensively, defensively or for supplementary reasons, and are controlled via Chakra Threads. Because of their design, the weak point of any puppet is its joints: if these are blocked by any material, such as Iron Sand, the puppet is rendered incapable of movement.

Chakra Threads:
These strings are constructs made from very concentrated chakra so, they can be seen by people besides the user. A skilled user can suppress the chakra so that the strings become invisible, however this takes more chakra to do so.These strings essentially act as an extension of the user which allows them to manipulate whatever is attached to their strings - such as hidden weaponry in a puppet - as they please. Chakra can also be transferred via the strings, such as to activate techniques that the puppets can use. The chakra strings can also be attached to other objects, allowing the user to control, or at the very least disrupt other things.

Weapon Attachments:
Hidden weaponry, attachments, like buzz saws or flame throwers are unique parts that make puppetry an effective method of fighting. This in of itself gives rise to the notion that puppetry is a complete and separate fighting style. However, there is a limit to the number of slots for such attachments a puppet can have.

Rules on Puppetry:

  1. All puppets require a constant stream of chakra to utilize, meaning any puppets that operate without the user of chakra strings will be denied. This also means that if the link is severed, then the puppet ceases to function immediately.
  2. Using a puppets weapons does not cost chakra, unless it is a specific technique.
  3. You can only upgrade your puppets to have 50% more slots and stats than it currently has. So a B rank puppet can only get 50% more stats and slots, it can never get more than a S rank puppet.
  4. Upgrading your puppet from one rank to another, will cost 50% less than building a puppet at that level
  5. Chakra based weaponry requires chakra to utilize from the user.
  6. Human puppets must be approved by staff
  7. Invisible chakra strings cost twice as much as normal chakra strings and only go half the distance. (So for instance, Chakra strings cost a C rank every 3 posts, and go 40 meters, invisible strings cost a B rank every 3 posts, and only go 20 meters)
  8. In order to connect your chakra strings to beings that have chakra (other ninja, summons, weapons etc) you are require to know Skillful Advance: Human Puppet Technique
  9. Connecting your chakra strings to another person's chakra strings is a ratio of 1 v 1. Meaning it costs you one main finger string to connect to an opponents puppet and effectively try and wrestle control. This means you could lose access to one of your puppets.
  10. Movement speed, except for human puppets, puppets have a speed cap depending on your own speed and the amount you use. Note, when we say using puppets, we mean if you use 6 puppets, they move at a speed less than if you used 2. This does not mean puppets 1 and 2 move a certain speed, while puppets 5 and 6 move at a different speed.

Chakra Threads/Puppet Amount by Skill Level

  • Novice - Can use 2 Puppets, they move at your speed. 5 Fingers for each puppet
  • Apprentice - Can use 4 Puppets, up to 20 meters, C rank every 2 posts. Using 2 Puppets, move at your speed, using 3 through 4, they all move at 75% your speed
  • Adept - Can use 6 Puppets, up to 30 meters, C rank every 3 posts. Using 1, it moves at +10% your speed, using up to 4, move at your own speed, using 5 or 6, move at 80% your speed.
  • Master - Can use 8 puppets, up to 40 meters, C rank every 5 posts. Using up to 3 move at +20% your speed, using up to 6 move at your normal speed, and using up to 8 move at 80% your speed.
  • Doyen - Can use up to 10 puppets, up to 60 meters, C rank every 8 posts. Using up to 5, they move at +25% your speed, using up to 8 move at your speed, and using up to 10 move at 80% your speed.

Puppet Ranking System

Each rank a puppet is, determines it stat placement, its slots for weapon attachments, mechanisms and items it can possess. Puppets only have 3 stats in total. Strength, the over all strength of your puppet, exactly the same as human strength. Durability, which follows the rating given in the stat guide. Durability is just that, the ability of your puppet to survive damage, etc etc (this is not a derived stat). Finally is mobility, which is how fluid your puppet moves. Is your puppet stiff, like a wooden board, or is it fluid and moves like a snake. The more intricate your puppet is, the higher mobility you will want to have.

  • D-Rank ~ Costs 400 Ryo. Has 60 Stats. Has 4 Slots.
  • C-Rank ~ Costs 700 Ryo. Has 100 Stats. Has 5 Slots.
  • B-Rank ~ Costs 2500 Ryo. Has 160 Stats. Has 6 Slots.
  • A-Rank ~ Costs 3000 Ryo. Has 200 Stats. Has 7 Slots.
  • S-Rank ~ Costs 5000 Ryo. Has 250 Stats. Has 10 Slots.

Upgrading Puppets
It is possible to upgrade your puppets, giving them more stats, reinforcing limbs, and of course adding additional slots. There is a limit to adding stats, which is up to 50% of your current amount so long as they do not surpass the next rank. So C and D rank do not matter so much, but B rank, the most you can get is 200, you cannot get 240, since that surpasses A rank. You can also upgrade the slots, for every slot you add, your puppet needs to have at least 10% of its stats in Strength. That means if you want to add 1 slot, at D rank, you need at least 6 strength, 2 slots, you need at least 12 strength. So on and do forth.

Cost of Upgrading:

  • To add 1 Slot, costs 700 Ryo - Every 2 slots added, requires at least 10% of your overall stats to be mobility. Meaning if you have an S rank puppet, and want to add 4 slots, you need at least 50 mobility.
  • To add 5 Stats, costs 1000 Ryo

Amputation and Limb Replacement
As seen with various puppeteers, replacing lost limbs, or augmenting the human body with puppetry based limbs is possible, if not very common. Each replacement part must be bought and created separately; as well as being approved by staff before use.

Please note, the cost for creating a puppet limb/digit/etc follows the weapon creation rules for pricing. There are limits on possible slots however, and just what rank it has to be in order to replace what. You cannot replace organs/soft tissue, unless you do a full body replacement, in which case, see Human puppetry

  • D-Rank: Individual digits of the hands and foot. No enhancements.
  • C-rank: Entire feet or single hands just above the ankle/wrist. May contain a single enhancement of equal or lower rank.
  • B-Rank: Arms/legs from the elbow/knee down. May have up to two enhancements of equal or lower rank.
  • A-Rank: Entire limbs. Up to three enhancements of equal or lower rank.
  • S-rank: Entire limbs. Extremely powerful enhancements are allowed at this rank; up to 4 total. Each enhancement of this rank is priced separately and added together on top of the basic S-rank price.

Jutsu, Clones, Elements, Summons, Puppetry, and Genjutsu Systems I0f3Ci5

Genjutsu is one of the 3 basic fighting styles of Naruto Universe, however it is most likely one of the least used, at least in RP sense, and the least detailed in the show/manga. There are a lot of questions about Genjutsu, a lot of issues with it as well.

Genjutsu can be a powerful, it can also be overpowered. The very idea of it is nearly an autohit, from sound, sight, and the less utilized, smell, taste and touch.

There are three types of Genjutsu

Optical Based Genjutsu
Sensory Based Genjutsu
Memory Based Genjutsu

Each one preforms a different task, and each one has a different purpose.

Optical Based Genjutsu are genjutsu that are illusions played out using chakra. Things like Haze Clones, making something appear that isn't there. These are what you might think of in terms of optical illusions. The old woman who becomes young. They change the environment in a certain way, but do not directly affect a target(s).

A genjutsu that what appears to make rain fall or a storm is one instance. For all intensive purposes, its an illusion created by the caster to make something appear. Think of them as area of effect illusions. Making it rain, making mist or fog appear, doubles of yourself. They affect everyone in the area, and one use of Genjutsu Kai can disperse the entire illusion. Maybe it looks like a rock in the way, but its just an illusion cast, or the numbers on the mailbox. Please note, these genjutsu are not targeted Genjutsu. They don't affect that person, but not this person, they affect everyone in the area, including yourself. You know the rain is fake, but you still see it as if it was real. Powerful Genjutsu casters can even make optical illusions feel real, the smell, taste or touch of it, but it is still just an illusion cast over an area.

The second is sensory based, these are what you might think of as traditional genjutsu, the fight of Itachi and Sasuke, Itachi and Deidare. They are cast at/towards a specific target with intent to do harm or cause some sort of ailment. They require concentration, effort to keep up. The brain is a complicated piece, and often times its next to impossible to fully maintain control if you are simultaneously doing other things.

The final is memory genjutsu, these are genjutsu designed to manipulate memories, and also come forth when certain things are met. Such as erasing memories, giving members someone didn't have, maybe a little brain washing. Maybe they activate the next time someone uses Genjutsu Kai.

Genjutsu Resistance

With training, time and effort it is possible to become more resistant to the effects of Genjutsu, and certainly genjutsu masters know well how to spot and dispel the effects of Genjutsu. It is never possible to be fully immune to Genjutsu, even the famed Itachi was at a stalemate with his brother Sasuke, and even Danzo with all his eyes, fell for a simple genjutsu. There is hope, and it comes directly from the genjutsu system itself.

Intelligence plays a key role in Genjutsu and its dispelling effects. And we will talk about that in a bit. We wanted to mention first and foremost, there is no auto dispelling Genjutsu, no immunization to Genjutsu, no "seeing" through it, if you will. Some things might make it easier to dispel, or to reflect it back. Heck at times certain genjutsu might not work, such as being blinded, or covering your eyes. Staff use a general rule of thumb when determining such things. If you can see someone with your own eyes, they can use ocular genjutsu against you. When you can hear other noises, sound based genjutsu can affect you. Throwing on a cool pair of sunglasses, or covering your eyes with a fancy helmet might make you think you are immune, but to be immune your eyes have to be shut and you cannot use your sense of sight, or sound or whatever it may be.

Genjutsu Stat's

You will notice that Genjutsu comes in stats just like any other move. It has a range, a grasp, number of targets (its power), and the trigger.

Concerning the range, the range in this case is from the target to you, how far away before the genjutsu is dispelled. Basically, if a genjutsu has a range of 50 meters, and you catch someone, but them move to 55 meters away, the genjutsu is dispelled when you leave the effective range.

The speed section of Genjutsu is changed to be the "grasp" of a genjutsu. You may be thinking, grasp... like how it holds you. You'd be correct, the grasp is its effect on you. When measuring the grasp of a genjutsu, you must understand that in terms of defense against Genjutsu, there are hardly any. You really cannot dodge it, nor can you use say, a earthen wall to stop it, tanking it, well it isn't something that goes against your durability.

The power section of Genjutsu denotes how many targets you can hit. For every 50 points, you can target one additional person. For area of effect Genjutsu, people who simply enter the range are caught in the genjutsu. The "number of targets" would not be applicable in this case. All Genjutsu always have at least 1 target.

What the grasp is used for, is against your intelligence. Like one would use a ninjutsu vs durability. If your intelligence is higher than the grasping power of a genjutsu, you can start to shrug off the effect and utilize genjutsu kai. It will follow the durability vs strength guide. Only in this case, its Intelligence vs "speed" of the genjutsu. You can follow the contrast section for it to determine what is appropriate.

So what does this mean for you, well lets say a genjutsu paralyzes you, but you have a high intelligence. You can realize and react to the genjutsu and use a dispelling method to escape form it. I know sometimes it may seem a little unfair, or makes genjutsu "useless" but note, Genjutsu is for the most part, an autohit move, with little defense to stop it once it hits. You can't suddenly throw up a wall, or dive bomb out of the way. We feel that Intelligence is a good measure of how well your character is able to handle and react to them. I mean, if your durability is high enough, you might be able to tank a jutsu or two before feeling the effects, same with Genjutsu.

Triggers

Triggers are an important part of Genjutsu, and its important to note that genjutsu require a trigger.

Touch - You can touch someone, or they touch a certain thing that triggers the genjutsu
Sight - Direct Eye Contact, or perhaps a finger point or gesture
Sound - They hear a melody
Taste - They eat a certain food (oh yes this is possible)
Smell - They smell a certain something

It is important to note, the two most powerful, sight and sound are well, very powerful. The first, sight, requires you to either maintain eye contact for the duration of the hand-signs, or finish the hand-signs and preform a gesture or such to create the trigger. It is important to note, the hand-signs in of themselves cannot count as a trigger.

The second, sound well sound is extremely potent. It travels far, very fast and can be heard by many people. In such a case, we require some part of Sound to be continuous. And no, you gooses you cannot make the genjutsu that makes them hear a sound to keep the effects going. Say you are playing a genjutsu on a flute, in order for the genjutsu to remain active, you must keep playing the flute, very simple, your music is the trigger. Once you stop, the genjutsu ends. Utilizing Sound Genjutsu require the use of an SC, which determines the intensity and ability to target multiple targets. As such, the idea of targeting 10 or 20 targets is a bit ridiculous, please read the SC regarding how it operates.

Given the above listed descriptions on what Genjutsu can do, it seems best to clarify on the things that Genjutsu absolutely are incapable of doing. Given that as stated Genjutsu affect the senses and can create illusions which fool the perception of these senses. Genjutsu however, cannot dictate how a person will act inside a technique they can't change or create emotions or directly make existing emotions more prominent (like induce rage with genjutsu). They are only capable of indirectly inspiring emotions in a target. You might create an illusion of a massive spider, with the intent of frightening your target, but the emotional response is entirely up to the target's perception.

Dispelling Genjutsu

Often times, we leave Genjutsu to be a side note in the ninja world, a bolt of lightning to the chest kills someone if they are not careful, but a Genjutsu that is strong, we go out of our way to make it hard to do so. We are not however, naive enough to suggest that genjutsu, with its ability to almost autohit would be characterized as weak. We have created a method of dispelling Genjutsu based on 4 key points. It is important to note, you must first notice that you are in a Genjutsu, as stated previously, there is no immunity to Genjutsu, from anything, Dojutsu included.

  • Pain | Receiving physical trama from pain causes the mind to refocus and basically snaps the grasp a genjutsu has. This pain can either come from yourself, or an outside source. The pain must be intensive enough to shock the system into a heightened state. Simply pinching yourself, or biting your tongue would not be enough. A stab wound, breaking of bones, biting off your tongue, gouging out an eye, ripping off a nose. Now, it might seem like that is rather extreme, considering that a C rank fireball might cause some burns, but a C rank genjutsu requires one to gouge out an eye, and what if you cannot because you are paralyzed. Seems unfair that a B rank genjutsu can paralyze you, which is a death sentence, but a B rank ninjutsu would not be a death sentence. We justify this as, self inflicted pain always trumps genjutsu. Which is to say, inflicing pain on yourself while under the effects of a genjutsu is always possible. Even if that genjutsu paralyzes you. Now, if you are paralyzed from other means, such as a poison, then obviously this does not count. Since this is considered an "extreme" measure, the pain induced method effectively kicks out all "layers" or "stacked' genjutsu used, and makes the user "immune" to genjutsu for the next two posts. Immune is in quotes, because the user is in extreme pain, and most likely heavily bleeding.

  • Help | Receiving help from an outside source (or internal in the case of Bijuu with an SC of Tier II or higher, same with Masked Beasts) is possible to break the genjutsu. An ally (PC or purchased NPC, Summon) can break out a friend out of a genjutsu by "jolting" there senses back under control. This can be done with a hard punch or kick, or by applying 1/4 of the chakra cost of the genjutsu to the user. This is enough to jolt them out of the genjutsu. This can be hard, because the ally cannot be under the effects of a genjutsu as well. However, the boon of this being, utilizing this method breaks all genjutsu, no matter how many are placed on the user.

  • Chakra Absorption | A significant chakra drain on the system can too break a target out of a genjutsu. This can be useful if say, someone is trying to drain your chakra, or the like. Once 1/4 the genjutsu strength worth of chakra has been drained, the target snaps out of the genjutsu (all layers) and the genjutsu is broken.

  • Genjutsu Kai | The most prominent of genjutsu dispelling methods, and often times the most meta-gamed. People going up against Genjutsu masters are just "spamming" Kai every post to make sure. Genjutsu Kai does not work like that. It works by effectively shutting down the chakra system (for one post) before kicking it back on. Making the target unable to utilize any chakra based moves for the entire post. Genjutsu Kai is considered a "Basic Skills" taught to every ninja, samurai and monk, as the best defense against Genjutsu. Genjutsu Kai has a Power rating of 150, plus your own intelligence score. If this score is higher than the grasp of a genjutsu, then you can dispel it. If the score is not higher, there may still be a way, however it will cost more chakra. Please see the Durability vs Jutsu Guide for determining ranges, but effectively, for every 10% outside of it, double the cost of Genjutsu Kai. The most in this instance would be 40%.

I.E My Genjutsu Kai rating is 200, and the opponents Grasp is 400, 40% of 400 is 240, in this instance, Genjutsu Kai can not dispel the Genjutsu. However, if my Genjutsu Kai was 240, then I could dispel the Genjutsu, but it would cost 52 Chakra.

Genjutsu Kai only dispel one "layer" or "stacked" genjutsu per use.
