Looks Description:
Achilles stands at six foot two inches tall, making him generally a lot taller then many of the other Shinobi who populate the Hidden Villages, even those within the Kumo itself. His height is combined with the very muscular yet defined form all of his body is covered in, making him look every bit of the part he holds as the Raikage of Kumo. This height and his defined body shape often give him a look of intimidation whether he uses it to such extents or not, it usually results in such a feeling especially among his comrades within the Hidden Cloud Village. His body holds a darker shade of white skin, thanks to his being a Native of Kumo where many there usually hold a darker overall skin tone. The tanned color which adorns his body, often makes him look as though he is glistening in the light of the sun, during training due to the added sweat reflecting the light off of his body, giving him an awe inspiring presence.
Along with his amazing Physique, he holds piercing eyes which are a dark blue color, giving them an appearance of being beautiful yet, deadly. His gaze which he often uses to narrow at his enemy can give them a feeling of despair as much of his inner feelings reside within them, and can be used to make his opponent feel whatever he wishes them to. When not trying to glare at his opponents it's often that his eyes can sometimes become shaded or covered by the shaggy length hair brown hair that covers his head, though not extending further then just around his eyes, he often jokes about needing a haircut every month, due to its quick growth.
The remainder of his face, though handsome is nothing memorable, his strong yet narrow jawline define his facial features along with his strong chin. Something likely passed on to him through his father's side of the family, as they had been known to being handsome men as well. His nose though fitting his face and the size of his body can sometimes be viewed as big, but given the size of the rest of his body fits him quite well, thankfully it's never been broken enough to disfigure his appearance.
An aspect of appearance often left out, of the minds of most people, is the presence that person gives off to others around him. Achilles is one of those people who always seems to give off a presence no matter his mood to others around him. There is usually a feeling of relief when he is around, the way he holds himself, high up as if nothing could begin to compare to where he believes his own power is, acts as the setting of mood for him and his allies. His gaze with an opponent is never broken, his eyes pierce into the body and soul of the man or creature he decides to focus his attention on, never letting it leave them even if he looks away the pure essence of his body always makes it seems as though they are being watched, hunted, then killed.
Personality Description:
To start off with, one cannot begin to describe Achilles without mentioning his intensity, simply as a person in general. Not much is ever moderate, with him. He will either put everything he has into something or he won't bother to do it at all, though at times he may have a slow start as he tries to understand something, but once he does, it's 110% effort. This intensity also covers his training and life as a Shinobi, during battle he doesn't let up, battered, bruised, broken, injured? It means little to Achilles, once he is in a battle, as it's not over, until he is dead or whoever he is fighting is beaten. Though by most it can be perceived as foolish or even dangerous in a situation which could cost his life, it is likely one of his best qualities.
Though, when is training or on a mission he holds his serious mentality and his epic levels of intensity, when he's at home, he enjoys things that are much more simple. Goofing off is probably one of his favorite occupations, including sky gazing, though in Kumo, it really should be called Cloud Gazing. Though some of his peers especially those he only works with, the idea that such an intense person enjoyed something as easy going as goofing off or relaxing would be mind blowing, it's always been that way for him. To him, "It's always okay to put every part of your being into working hard, but you also need to know that sometimes, you have to just let go of it all." It's an insight of self wisdom, that to every person touched by the young man, almost instantly embrace after getting to know him, truly.
However, there are times when is intensity absolutely gets to him, as his fuse, or almost lack there of is legendary. Though many accredit it, to him having some kind of personality disorder, Achilles has what some call a literally, explosive temper. Though as Achilles himself will be quick to defend, it's usually justified, such as a teammate being threatened, or his village, or even his honor, well maybe his skill as a Shinobi too. Alright maybe he couldn't defend his temper, all of the time, but he tried, and especially after his recent promotion, he'd done much to try and control it better. Meditation has been his biggest ally in those efforts as well.
There was however another thing, he was famous for, which wasn't quite as negative as his legendary anger problems, but can be seen as considerably more embarrassing. He loves women, for much of his younger life, he had put aside the teenage desires to chase after beautiful girls, and it seemed that after so long it seemed to have reached its limit. It had happened sometime during his tenure as a Jounin, that he suddenly just felt like it was time to find a beautiful girl for himself. Of course, the aforementioned lack of doing such during his teenage years had left him at a significant disadvantage, he knew absolutely nothing about women at all.
He isn't all negatives though, as he held something that most people could only claim to have. It was compassion, despite his anger, his addiction to finding love, or all the time he spent training, he would never abandon a friend or an ally. It was something engraved into him. What was strange about it, was that it wasn't even anything about him personally, he hadn't lost any friends, his family consisted of a single sister, his parents had died of natural causes being that they were nearly thirty-five when they had him. It was simply something he saw as a Chuunin on a mission in Kusagakure. (explained in history)
To explain further, he would go to any extent to make sure his friends and allies wold not suffer or die. If it meant walking through hell barefoot, while spiders circled around him biting in ways that felt like paper cuts, to save a friend. He'd simply smile and say, "What? No snakes?" It could be construed as some kind of macho hero mentality, but the fact that he usually won, and would only continue to push himself harder, if he even came close to failing, the positives definitely outweighed the negative.
Likes:
*Having grown up in the Hidden Cloud Village it wasn't a surprise that he enjoyed overcast days. Especially when it was warm out, the fact he wouldn't have to deal with a blinding sun, but still got to enjoy a pretty day, was always a plus to Achilles.
*If there was ever a kryptonite to Achilles(besides his ankle), it would have to be food, he loved it, loved cooking it and especially loved eating it. His life as a Shinobi definitely helped out as he was always burning off the food he just ate.
*A love of literature, is something of a secret love for Achilles as few truly knew of the enjoyment, he got out of the simple reading of a book. Though sometimes, he enjoyed books of the more erotic persuasion.
Dislikes:
*For someone as intense as Achilles the thought of failure was maybe more a fear than something he disliked, but it definitely was in the ballpark of things he hated.
*Despite being such a powerful Shinobi he has his fair share of fears, and one such being, a phobia of spiders, tiny big it didn't matter. Eight legs and pincers meant he didn't want it near him.
*Achilles, is a social person, though he does spend a lot of time training, he tries not to do it solo if he can, as being alone is not something the young man enjoys. It plays on his fear of never having a true love as his addiction to chasing women surfaces in this occasion.
Catch Phrases:
"I am the greatest Shinobi of all time."
Nindo:
"My ninja way, is to protect my village and my friends at all costs.
To empower my friends so that they can protect our village and their friends.
To empower my people so that their spirit never waivers."

- Spoiler:
Before there was a tall tanned Raikage, by the name of Achilles there was a Jounin by the name of Sasme Raiki. He was quite skilled especially in Ninjutsu, though what he truly prided himself on was an aptitude for Fuuinjutsu too. An art few truly indulged in, but those that did found it extremely useful. Along with Sasme was a woman, by the name of Sayaki also with the last name Raiki, however she was not born with it. No, she married the young Sasme as part of a political effort to help stabilize the relations between, Konoha and Kumo. Sayaki herself, was a few years younger then Sasme and was a Fuuinjutsu specialist who also dabbled in medical jutsu.
Though they were at odds at first it wasn't long before, Sasme's confident attitude and Sayaki's quick witted intellect, soon became comfortable between the two. Of course once two people who are attracted to each other become comfortable with each other it's not long that love soon follows. And following this love Nine Months later, the product of such love was brought to fruition. Considering the skills of the parents, and the fact that they both had had such bright careers, many jokes were made about how he was destined to be great. After hearing such talk, only one name really felt appropriate.
Over the years Achilles had grown to be quite the popular child, all the other parents urged their kids to do the best they could to hang out with the boy. Though he certainly didn't mind, after all kids were far too young to realize the careful planning that was so obvious to adults. What was different though, was that when left to his own devices, he much preferred to play Ninja with the older kids. Most likely because it was normally expected that kids of the same age would enter the academy at the same time, the older kids were not really pushed to play with him, it made Achilles Naturally curious.
It was this influence that caused him to become more interested earlier on in becoming a Shinobi. So by he time he was only four he was asking and asking to join. His mother and father being active Shinobi could hardly refuse, he had all the potential in the world, and apparently the motivation to get started how could they say no.
- Spoiler:
Looking back at his time in the Academy, Achilles had to admit he was in quite a weighted class as far as successful and skilled Shinobi. He, Katsuro, and Hana, had all entered at the same time in fact were in the same row. Though Achilles was their junior by a couple of years he made sure to make up for it, by working harder then most dared, especially Hana, whom skipped class on a regular basis. Katsuro was more like him, worked hard and had a good strong goal, he wanted to become a war hero, and a teacher. Achilles had always smiled when he talked about it, saying that once he taught them he'd make sure they did their job, after all that's what a Raikage did wasn't it?
Early on, it was obvious that the guessers were right, Achilles was an immediate prodigy, he literally soaked up knowledge like a sponge in class. It may have helped that being the youngest in his class made him feel like he had something to prove and it definitely didn't him. Though his test scores weren't the highest they were definitely in the top ten. Other times he was a mysterious savant, like when it came to taijutsu, he absolutely refused to learn the academy style, saying it didn't feel right. Because of this, he adopted his own, flowing style of just brawling, but he made it look like a true style, the way he moved and attacked was something to behold. Despite this phenomenon, the fact of the matter was, he was younger and smaller then most in his class and simply couldn't match up to the better fighters, Katsuro was one of those, better fighters.
Where he really stood out however was Jutsu, early on, he was quick to learn how they worked and was able to maintain the balance of physical and mental chakra. Of course it didn't hurt that he was lucky to have been born with surprising chakra capacity, which was noticeable when he could train his jutsu in class longer then most others could despite being younger. It hadn't surprised anyone, other than himself when he was chosen as the Rookie of the Year, in his class.
Genin:
- Spoiler:
Achilles was fairly lucky once they graduated as he was placed on a team with a good friend, Katsuro. Their third team member was one that neither he nor Katsuro knew very well, but he was part of Kumo, which was all that mattered to the pair of dedicated Shinobi. Which worked out fairly well, Katsuro was pretty much going to learn to be the tank or muscle man of the group with his taijutsu affinty, and Achilles was going to be their finisher with his natural affinty to Ninjutsu, Kuda, as he learned was the name of their third team member, was fairly good at chakra control but wasn't the best fighter, could alert them in case of Genjutsu.
Though he had to admit them, being on an ANBU member's team had definitely helped with their discipline. They all got up before day light to begin their morning training before spending the day doing D rank missions and team work exercises only to train again that night and repeat everyday. The way they were pushed every single morning and night despite doing the grunt work of Genin was agonizing for the young Shinobi, but he knew he had to push on.
As it turned how, his patience would eventually get rewarded as a few months after becoming a team they had gotten their first real mission. It was a C rank body guard mission in which they were to protect some tobacco farmers outside the village from poachers who would sell the tobacco for cheap after the farmers put all the effort and funds into raising the crops. Though the group had initially been excited it turned out to be a bore, as once the group attacked it turned out to be a bunch of lowly trained scrubs whom didn't require much effort to stop and have arrested. Though the pay was significantly better than a D rank it didn't make up for the disappointed that they felt more like laborers then Shinobi.
Chuunin Exams:
- Spoiler:
The three of them made a fairly formidable team, however in this new age of Shinobi the learning curve was much steeper as danger wasn't quite sitting around every corner as it had, during the days of Naruto Uzumaki or even their own Legendary Shinobi, A and B the lightning brothers. Due to this learning curve it was years before they had developed in the ways necessary to become ready for the Chuunin Exam. Especially considering the lack of higher missions, being made available to younger teams. Once they got a year or so in however, they were able to finally test the waters with a B rank or two.
After they had accomplished those lofty feats however, the Chuunin Exams began to approach, and their sensei, despite keeping them from competing in previous years was more then optimistic about his teams chances. In fact, if Achilles remembered correctly, he placed a rather large wager from the beginning fro this team to make it to the finals. Which could explain why he was even more happier then usual by the time it was over.
The actual Exams though, went how one would expect, testing their book and information gathering knowledge, then moved on to the basic surviving portion, which was always the team blender, as tore many to pieces in the process. Where things really got interesting though as usual were the finals, where it became about one on one combat. Though as a Shinobi it was probably the least important part of the exams, it was always the one made the biggest fuss about. Because it was the part you could see. At least that's how Achilles viewed it.
Achilles was thankful he didn't have to face his friend Katsuro, early on but noticed that if they both made it all the way through they would fight each other in the final match. This excited Achilles and gave him the extra push he needed in his later matches. Despite this, Katsuro, had eventually lost anyway, in the semifinal match to a Shinobi from Konoha, fortunately for Achilles however, the fight had exhausted him, while he was still at least fifty percent. The end result was Achilles winning the overall tournament style process and avenging his teammate's loss as well as getting promoted along side him.
Chuunin:
- Spoiler:
After becoming a Chuunin, instead of relaxing and falling into a small respite of contentment having passed the halfway mark of being a Shinobi, Achilles took it upon himself to reach for not the brass ring, he wanted the damn diamond ring. He had begun studying Fuuinjutsu, or as what is commonly known as sealing jutsu, in which a person would draw a seal with blood ink or whatever medium they desired and could infuse it with chakra to get a desired result. It was vastly difficult and required a lot of patience to learn.
Achilles had just begun understanding the basics of said ability as he was called upon to do his first Assassination mission. Being that he was an ANBU hopeful, almost being snatched up after graduated, had decided to wait and train up first, needed one under his belt. It was in Kusagakure, and it was a Solo mission, no one extremely important, it was just an informant on some Missing Nin from Kumo that had given them all the info he had left. Achilles was sent to close the gap as it were.
What Achilles hadn't expected however was for him to watch his target sacrifice himself in an effort to save his daughter from what would have been a life of rape and servitude. He was given the choice to give his daughter willingly in which they would both live, he normally so, and his daughter painfully so, but they would both live. The other option was to give his life, simply flat out and they would leave her alone and in fact would keep her situation for the duration of her life. The reason being that the thugs who were making the offer had two options, both of which paid the same.
What the man hadn't known was that, it was a trap, had he agreed to let them take his daughter they would have done so but that would have been it. But seeing as how he hadn't they killed him where he stood as agreed but, were moving in to take his daughter regardless. It was then that something snapped in Achilles, a rage he never knew he had, so terrible he felt as though he was unconscious for several moments, only coming to in a field of blood, only the daughter left alive. To which he give her all reward money for the man's head as well as what he had on him. Leaving her at a small but safe village on the way back to his own home, he had decided that he had some things he needed to sort out.
It was then after arriving back home he had heard about the continuous attacks by missing ninja became a full on assault, causing the loss of many Shinobi, and the serious injury to a friend of his Katsuro who had re-evaluated his career and decided he wanted to be alive and a hero instead of a dead one. Achilles however decided he wanted nothing to do with being a Shinobi anymore, he couldnt handle it and he didn't care.
Bidding his friend a speedy recovery he left, only forgetting something important, his headband. The events in Kusa as well as the attack on his village made him feel as though he had accomplished nothing, and could not do anything to help. Helplessness overtook him, and he spiraled for the next few years, into despair.
Return to Action, Jounin Arc:
- Spoiler:
He was twenty now, most of his friends from the Academy were Jounin or ANBU by now, and he was just a simple merchant occasionally talking to his old squad mates. Any time he talked to them however, all he ever heard about was the fact their numbers were constantly dropping, though they had pushed the attack from the Missing Ninja's back a few years ago. They were still around and just as powerful if not more so, and they seemed to take an interest in taking out as many Jounin as possible.
Achilles was about a mile from the gate of the village minding the cart of supplies that he had picked up from the store he was working at when the unmistakable sounds of battle ringed in his ears. He turned to see a couple of Shinobi battling, one an acquaintance of his from the Academy the other looking dark and mysterious with an obvious mark through his headband. The battle wasn't going well for the Kumo Shinobi, and Achilles was worried and even considered helping, but the choice was taken out of his hands as a scream and loud gulching sound followed as he watched the body or pieces of fall to the ground.
Not even a moment later he saw the form of a small child run up to the mutilated body, it tore at Achilles, in every way possible, until he heard one word. It was a simple word, one he'd heard or said thousands of times, but it had never carried the weight it had, before like it had this time, "Daddy." Similar to the time in Kusa, he felt himself overcome with rage, but he hadn't blacked out this time, instead he'd just charged forward, no weapon, no gear, just him and his fists.
The Missing Nin, hadn't noticed his presence before, too proud of his current success and curiosity regarding the price he'd fetch for selling the Shinobi's kid whom he'd just defeated. By the time the sound of foot steps reached him it had been too late. He felt the crushing weight of Achilles fist molding into his face of ever brief a moment before he was sent careening into a tree snapping the tree in half sending splinters everywhere.
That hadn't been enough for the former Shinobi as he continued to beat down the Missing Nin until he was literally smashed into the ground. Thankfully for him, he had been sheltered by the tree debris and the girl hadn't seen what he did to her father's murderer. Afterwards he took the girl to her mother and explained what happened and followed that with a verbal report to the Raikage, after which he asked for his Headband back, when asked why he wanted to return Achilles had replied, "I've found my Nindo."
Once he returned to Duty it was as if someone set the world ablaze, especially for Missing Nin, as for the entire first year of his return after a year of training to be back in Shinobi shape, he spent the year he was Twenty two years old, killing every Missing Nin from Kumo he could. This had been a multi pronged job, as it helped the village by stopping the disappearances of shinobi, keeping their numbers at home steady, earning him quite a pay check, and as he came back from his latest job a promotion, to Jounin.
He had long forgotten his desires to become an assassin in ANBU and had instead focused on a higher calling. He wanted to become Raikage, and truly make a difference, he wanted to make sure no one, he knew could be hurt in the ways he'd seen before. He knew he had the power to do something about it, not it was just about controlling that power as well as applying himself.
Becoming Raikage:
- Spoiler:
In the years since his return to becoming a Shinobi, Achilles had dedicated his nearly every moment to training, or reading about Fuuinjutsu. He was really getting somewhere with his sealing, he was getting better and better every time, he made an attempt to make a custom seal. Along with this training he had also began expanding his jutsu by adding several of his own created jutsu he had been imagining since before he had left the Shinobi profession. Now that he had been back and was getting stronger then ever, and had finally had the time to work on and master those techniques.
What Achilles hadn't realized however, was just how much he was progressing, he'd been so focused on simply performing his missions, and training he wasn't as social as he had been growing up and had not been comparing himself to his peers or sparring as much as he had before as well. It had been around this time that his parents began to fall ill, it was a pleasant surprise that they had lived for so long given the fact they had been active Shinobi all the way up until he had quit himself, before they retired. Most Shinobi either died young or died after hitting their 40's as it was when most lost that extra step that kept them ahead. The fact his parents had made it as long as they did was a testament to how skilled they were.
Unfortunately no one can defeat time, no matter how strong they were, and it appeared that his parents would be the next pair of victims. Being that they had lived so rough, going through the life of a Shinobi it was no surprise that they were getting ill now that they were in their sixties. What had occurred to Achilles however, was that he was now twenty seven and still hadn't even been on a proper date. Though it was a silly thing to worry about, it was there, he had defeated any enemy he came across, learned everything he put down in front of himself, found his Nindo, now all he wanted was to find, a girl.
Of course, something like that would have to wait, as a few weeks later, not long after his parents had finally passed, peacefully in their sleep, news had spread across the village. The first had been a shock, but the second had literally knocked the wind out of him. The Raikage had disappeared, and he had been named as the Temporary Successor, possibly the next Full Raikage if he never returned.
RP Sample:
A smile crept up on the tanned face of the man who had been panting just a moment ago, as he reached up with his uninjured hand wiping a bit of blood off his cheek. After doing so, he sighed giving a slow hard look up towards the sky, it held it's overcast look as was the norm in the Village Hidden in the Clouds. "A beautiful day is it not?" His comment was met with silence though he couldn't blame them. In truth to most, it probably appeared to be dreary if not down right ugly.
Though he doubted it was his attitude towards the weather as to why he hadn't gotten a reply, and probably more based on the fact, that he was missing an arm at the expense of trying to defend himself against one of his opponent's jutsu. Of course after bringing his attention back from the sky and onto the person facing him, it became rather obvious why he didn't answer, "Oh yeah. I had almost forgotten about that." His tone was a bit care free at the moment, he clearly had the upper hand at the moment despite having had trouble earlier on in the fight.
Though he couldn't resist the chance to dig the knife in deeper if it meant ending the conflict faster, "Ya know I would offer a hand, but I'm afraid you might take that a bit too literally, and try to return the favor." His smirk, had widen, and he could see visibly how much he had angered his opponent, "Don't feel bad, after all it's not your fault." It was now that his smirk and morphed into full on grin and the injured body of the brunette had seemed to melt away somewhat, as he got going.
"You really never had a chance." Crossing his arms as he now stood up straight his grin plainly visible, "After all you are fighting against the Greatest Shinobi of all time regardless of the fact I'm also the Raikage." His strategy seemed to have worked, as his enemy dropped all guard and began to charge headlong into him, full of fury. He was an easy target now, one pull of his Katana from its sheath and it was over.
