"The village is under my protection, don't cross me or fear the Earthen Reaper!"
Name: Yoroyuza, Bansho
Nickname: "Bansho the Earthen Reaper"
Age: Thirty-Five
Gender: Male
Village: Iwagakure no Sato
Village Rank: Tsuchikage
Skill Rank: S-Rank
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 170 lbs.
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Black
Looks Image: (Please refer to avatar and picture above.)
Looks Description: Bansho is a strong standing man, his features showing both a soft but handsome manner in both his looks and his posture. His hair is a jet black and hits about shoulder length. He prefers to wear it either naturally or in a long ponytail. He is a clean shaven man with a strong toned build of someone who works out but not vigorously. and long arms and legs. His skin is a slightly tan color and his eyes are a strong raven black with piercing pupils. He has a slightly burly chest as compared to the rest of his muscles.
As for clothing, he has many different outfits that he wears, when conducting official business he most often is seen wearing either a dark black suit with a white tie or the Tsuchikage robes (brilliant white robes with the symbol for their village emblazoned on the hat, in this case a earthy brown symbol for Iwagakure.) On a more casual day he can be seen wearing a more relaxed purple and grey suit, a navy blue suit, or when he needs to train he wears skintight black training gear with a Iwagakure headband protector wrapped around his forehead and black combat sandals with bandage wraps around his knees/shins and arms. When walking through the village, he sometimes likes to wear a blue kimono with a straw hat so that he can conceal his face and observe his people.
The suits that he likes to wear are made of a soft silken like material famous in a fishing village from Kirigakure. The style of tie that he likes to wear changes with the day, sometimes he prefers skinnies and sometimes he prefers regular. All of his ties that he wears with his suits are either black or white.
Personality Description: The most important thing about Bansho is his fierce loyalty to not only his village, but his family. He values loyalty and strong moral values over all other things. Another important aspect of this however though is that he doesn't command respect, he believes that loyalty to someone should be earned not forced through a display of power. He does however expect that all the people under his care remain loyal to their family members, the mothers and fathers that raised them.
The second most important aspect of his personality is his belief in peace and prosperity, he has no other wish than to maintain a village where everyone can wake up knowing that they are protected and safe by the shinobi that dedicate their lives to making sure it stays that way. The lives of the many will never outweigh the lives of one. If he has to sacrifice himself so that even one person may live to carry on the legacy of Iwagakure then he will do so without hesitation.
Another aspect of his personality is his belief that war is simply a tool for men to abuse their power and show off to other men trying to do the same thing. War is not a value that he values, however he knows that in the world of the shinobi. Power struggles occur every day and they can escalate into war. If a war was to ever break out and it endangered his people then out of necessity he would involve his people.
Bansho is a casual drinker and likes to invite his bodyguards and Jounin into his office so that he can share a drink with them. Bansho himself is actually a smoker but fortunately he has gotten a handle on it and restricts himself to about four to six a day.
He believes in the individual strength of all of his shinobi under his care. Quite often he likes to go out and interact with the Genin and Chunin of his village and have friendly training sessions with them. When he is not out training with his villagers though, he can be seen in his office. Bansho is not a lax man and takes his Tsuchikage duties very seriously.
Bansho is a merciful man who's mercy extends to those who show that they are not going to harm anyone important to the Tsuchikage. However, he has the ability to turn this mercy on and off at will, and should he decide that the person in question is not worthy of his mercy, then they should be prepared to face his full fury.

History:
Pre-Academy Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- The mother of Bansho was a young sixteen girl who went on a rebellious streak after her father told her that she would never be able to be a shinobi. Bansho's father was never determined, but it was rumored that there were at least eight different candidates. For the next nine months the girl lived in isolation, disowned by her father but allowed to live in the clan. Yoroyuza, Bansho was born nine months later into the Main House of the Yoroyuza clan. Compared to his family members, the boy's skin was a much lighter tone than the other newly born males of the clan. A sensor ninja was brought in on the babies third day to determine if he was capable of manipulating chakra.
Young baby Bansho was placed alongside two newborn babies. Yoroyuza, Yomi and Yoroyuza, Zaku. Yomi was determined to be incapable of manipulating chakra and as such was fostered to a young mother from the Engineering Complex. Bansho and Zaku however were both determined to be able to become shinobi with age, and the boys were raised together in the Main House of the clan. Zaku's father had been a Warrior Complex Chunin and as such Zaku's training as a child included kenjutsu techniques, the boy favoring a dai-katana. Bansho himself had a knack for Ninjutsu and as such the clan elders nurtured this ability.
When Zaku and Bansho both reached the ages of eight, they were placed into the academy in a class of seventy other students. The boys were the only two representatives of the Yoroyuza clan.
Academy Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- Bansho and Zaku's academy days were vastly different from one another. Zaku was praised by the other students for his bravery and his ability to use such an advanced sword at such a young age with pinpoint precision. Bansho however was seen as just another child who could use the secret kekkei genkai of his clan. Children liked to tease him, degrade him and call him "the bastard child". As a young eight year old boy these words stung him deep into his heart. He made a vow that he would surpass Zaku and prove to everyone that a bastard child can become a shinobi worthy of being on everyone's lips.
Bansho worked hard every day, he spent hours pouring over Ninjutsu scrolls, spending weekends with the clan adults learning the secret jutsu of the Oil Release. Everything he did was with the intention of proving his worth to all the students in his class, and all the shinobi that passed him in the street without a second glance.
At the age of nine, Bansho became the youngest clan member to ever use the secret clan jutsu "Oil Release: Great Oil Whale Splash Technique" such a feat was unheard of among even experienced Chuunin in the clan. Suddenly, the two boys Zaku and Bansho experienced a complete three sixty. Bansho was now the one given praise by all the children at school and Zaku was the one ignored and unheard.
As the years went on, Zaku developed a deep jealousy for Bansho. Something that would last for many years after that year in the academy. Bansho and Zaku graduated early from the academy at the age of ten and became Genin in the same squad with team-mate Hoshikata, Namizame and sensei Benko of the Phoenix.
Early Genin Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- As young Genin, the squad began going on missions together. Zaku and Bansho developed an unspoken rivalry, each mission serving as an act to one up the other. The sensei saw it as a way for the boys to express their youth, and their team-mate was much too quiet of a young man to really get involved. So the two of them continued along this path for several years, until the boys were both thirteen years old with dozens of D-Rank and eleven C-Rank missions under their belts.
Late Genin Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- The day after their fourteenth birthday, Zaku and Bansho of Squad Benko went on their first B-Rank mission. The boys had been improving greatly and with a nod and the approval of the Tsuchikage the squad was given the OK. The mission was to find and hunt a Great Garuda, a large bird that had been preying on farm animals and young children in a small village on the outskirts of the Earth Country. The squad set off immediately and after three days of travel they arrived in the village.
After two days of hunting for the bird, the squad was split up by a shift in earth that almost created a landslide. Bansho and his team-mate Namizame were separated from the other two. The duo desperately sought to regroup with their sensei and other team-mate. However, life would not be so easy on that day. As the two of them climbed a hill a large shadow could be seen overhead. The two boys turned to see that the Great Garuda had found them instead of the other way around.
What followed was a bloody battle that resulted in the bloody death of the Genin Namizame, and Bansho was exhausted. On the verge of running out of chakra the boy fired a last ditch effort offensive, with a combination of Oil Release and Fire Release chakras he managed to light the bird's tail on fire which quickly spread throughout it's whole body. The bird's final moments were watched by Bensho with sweat in his eyes and blood on his lip. After watching the bird crash into the earth, he lost consciousness and fell onto the ground.
When the boy awoke he was in the village, his sensei and Zaku sitting intently around his body. It had turned out that the boy had killed the Great Garuda almost single handedly and was regarded as a hero by everyone in the village. Even though Bansho rejoiced with the village, he could see the fires of jealousy in Zaku's eyes...
After they had arrived back into the village and the story retold, the tales of Bansho's feats were told at every tavern, spun in every home. The Genin taking down one of the fiercest beasts in the sky... Bansho enjoyed hearing about his tale, but from the encounter with the Garuda the boy forever harbored a deep disdain of all birds.
Chunin Exam Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- The Chunin exams had finally come, and were to be held in the Hidden Cloud village. Zaku and Bansho at first were unable to enter the exams due to not being in a three man squad, however. Fate would not be silent on that day and with the express approval of the Tsuchikage the boys were allowed to enter the exams as a pair.
The boys undertook the journey to the Hidden Cloud Village and entered the exam as one of four teams from Iwagakure, there were also seven teams from Konoha, eight teams from Sunagakure, five teams from Kirigakure and then eighteen teams from Kumogakure. With the teams assembled the exams began.
The details of the exam were bloody... And at the end of the second portion of the exam only six teams remained. Three from Kumogakure, two from Sunagakure and the duo of Zaku and Bansho. During the second portion, which entailed the teams to climb the most treacherous mountain in the entire Lightning Country to retrieve one of three scrolls on the top. While climbing however the duo came across one of the Kumogakure squads and a fight broke out.
Having taken out two of the Kumogakure ninja, a powerful Lightning Release technique came flying towards Bansho and was blocked by Zaku. The technique ravaged the boy's body and he died on the side of that mountain, his final words to Bansho being. "I just wanted to experience a little bit of the sun that I used to have. I was reckless, and I spent too much time hating you for taking from me what wasn't important. Please Bansho, continue my legacy..."
Bansho carried Zaku's body and managed to grab one of the scrolls. For the month hiatus between the second and third portion of the exam Bansho returned to the Yoroyuza clan to train and also to give Zaku his last rites.
However, with interference from the Warrior Complex, Zaku was not allowed to have a proper burial and was instead chopped into hundreds of pieces and put into a box and sent down a river. He had not died a warrior's death and as such was doomed to suffering, all because he had been born into the Warrior's Complex. From that day on, Bansho harbored a deep hatred for all the members of the Warrior Complex and vowed to one day reform them so that a tragedy like this would never happen again.
With the arrival of the tournament styled third portion of the exam, seven Genin battled it out for a place as a Chunin. The final battle coming down between a Kumo Genin and Bansho. The Kumo Genin had been the Genin that had dealt the killing blow to Zaku. The two fought for two hours until Bansho came out victorious.
He was promoted to Chuunin the next week, as well as harboring a hatred for the Warrior Complex, he also inherited an inner disdain for all Cloud Shinobi for taking the life of his best friend and rival prematurely.
Chunin to Jounin Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- It was during the boy's Chunin years that he really made a name for himself, demonstrating a remarkable aptitude for the Ninjutsu elements of Doton and Katon, he made a name for himself as Bansho the Earthen Reaper, a ninja whose name was whispered among the ranks of the elite in all the major villages. The Chunin was given mission after mission, gaining an impressive reputation and a mission record with seventeen completed B-Rank missions and eleven A-Ranks, even a coveted S-Rank mission had been completed by the Chunin which was practically unheard of among Chunin ranked ninja.
During a skirmish with rogue ninja from Takigakure, Bansho saved the lives of three Chunin from his village. This feat gave him a recommendation for Jounin rank. After going through the physical and mental tests required to become a Jounin, he passed with flying colors.
Jounin to Kage Chapter:
- Spoiler:
- For the next twenty years, the Jounin was content with training and giving his services to the village of Iwagakure. However, on the day a month after his thirty-fifth birthday, news that the current Tsuchikage had gone on a sudden hiatus hit the ears of all of the Jounin. Without a leader the village could fall into chaos. Bansho stepped up and placed his name forwards as a temporary replacement for the village, or a permanent one in the event that the Tsuchikage never returned. Life as a Tsuchikage would soon begin for the man, and it would be glorious.
