Looks Description: Slightly unkept jet black hair that only descends to his middle neck and parted bangs occasionally tucked behind his ears cover his head. However, the left bang does come a bit shorter than the other and can prove to be very irritating at times. His eyes are painted a somewhat sinister grey, that can sometimes give off a blue glint that warns strangers of his danger, however this can be confused and lost in a welcoming smile. He has a mouth full of pearly white teeth, and slightly sharpened fangs.
Pale and smooth in nature, Lee's skin is a natural white. In his active seasons he will be more tan in nature, obviously due to being in the sun longer. He actually appears to be rather simple and non-threatening at first glance. He has particularly skinny arms and long, thin legs to match. He has been working out as of late, so he has gained some more muscle in his biceps, but not enough to appear threatening to a passerby. His feet are small as are his hands. The only thing that may seem threatening, as stated above, is his sharp eyes and eyebrows that can give penetrating glares at times. Lionus has a slightly toned abdomen and thighs. Most of his abilities come from his speed and accuracy anyway, so working out has never been in the forefront of activities to partake in.
Lee's attire mainly consists of simple outfits he considers fashionable enough. He'll often wear over sized sweaters and jeans while around the village. His favorite colors are shades of grey and purple. When it gets hot he loves just throwing on a pair of light denim overalls and his shinobi sandals. He'll throw on a straw hat just to emphasize the style. It gets very hot in Konoha in summer, and it rains a lot, but he likes to feel the drops on his skin. The young man loves lots of pockets as well, sewing several into his clothes (especially the overalls). He will never be without a pack of cigarettes, either. Lionus is very content and proud of this style because it is, for the most part, simple as well as comfortable. It also helps him develop friendships based on his character, and not on fancy clothing or weapons he carries.
The Anbu Outfit: His anbu attire is very important to him and is definitely the most important outfit in his entire wardrobe. He only wears it when entering an important fight, or filling out a particular mission she finds especially dangerous or important. Lee believes putting on the anbu outfit of Konoha is a major responsibility, and shouldn't just be worn around as some tacky uniform. He keeps the plates of the armor hidden under his Chuunin outfit when on missions, and will then wear a white cloak over that, that falls to his ankles and covers his body (a hood in the back for rainy or snowy days). His mask is the most sacred of his outfit, painted in deep blacks, greys, and purples. It symbolizes the raven, as he has been labeled since birth. Lee himself has stated that it is a cover of death and finality, never to be worn other than in times of struggle and strife and departure. Lionus has also boldly stated that he will never allow himself to die, unless wearing the mask.
Headband: His hair was often referred to as "the raven's nest" in his family, due to its unkempt nature, so for a while he wore his ninja headband over the top of his head to keep them from landing there like his mother said they would. He still does wear it like that around the village, as a tribute to his mother.
Personality Description: Lionus' outward projected persona tends to be little more than a mask, but an effective one. Collected and calm, he comes across as a very mature person. He is hard-working and studious, and these traits allow him to come off as the picture perfect example of an intelligent individual. This intelligence blesses him with rational thought, understanding, and deductive ability that very few of his comrades are blessed with. With that intelligence, Lee has a tendency to use excessively complicated words, words he possibly shouldn’t comprehend, much less use fluently in passing speech. Whether her vernacular exists to make her feel superior to others or simply because an asset that goes unused is worthless, even he does not know. Most likely it is a bit of both. This also sometimes leads to a terrible amount of sarcasm and condescension, if he isn't careful. However, he usually can approach a conversation in a calm and simple enough manner that he won't feel the need to retard his vocabulary, or make the other person feel they are ignorant.
Stoic is the best word to describe the young man. Lee has what seems to be a permanently bored look glued to his face. Even when faced with a life threatening situation, a perpetually apathetic mask is donned. Gleaning any form of intent or emotion from Lee is terribly difficult because of this demeanor and only in the rarest of occasions is it actually dropped. It is actually very concerning to Lee, because he is a very kind person by nature, but it has always been difficult for him to express those feelings through what might be considered a smile. The man’s voice is heard considerably more often than expression is seen upon his face. Very rarely does Lee ever keep his thoughts to himself, regardless of how censored they should most likely be and it is one of the few times that some insight can be gained in to how his mind works.
Manic barely begins to describe the inner workings of Lee’s mind. The man is hyperactive in every sense of the word but those that are actually visibly shown. He processes information at an absurd rate and boasts a completely eidetic memory on top of it. When speaking, he tends to do so rather rapidly, when excited his words almost seem to cease shorten to word as he rambles. The shinobi's words often seem to run together as if he spoke exactly as the words came to mind. Of course, that is not true, but comparatively to a normal person, he might as well be speaking her thoughts simultaneously. This occasionally makes him difficult to follow and seemingly rather weird, but this is what gives Lionus his most recognizable strength, not only to himself, but among her peers as well. Lee has always been especially strong in the field of critical analysis and considering his lineage’s profession, being that of master medical shinobi, he has always been immersed in activities that challenge this facet of his personality and they have only grown exponentially since his childhood. Lee’s brain tends to operate far quicker than most people’s just by nature of being naturally talented in the field and his range of observation tends to be absurd, even for someone of his ranking. His brain tends to operate more like a computer than like a human brain at times.
Beneath the immediately noticeable quirks of the man’s personality, he is ultimately a good person with a strong desire to save not only his village, but the entire shinobi world as well and to uphold his sense of justice. Some would consider him ruthless, but to Lee there are multiple ways to save people. Putting bodies in the ground saves just as many people as curing the sick or bringing life into the world. Given his already obtained advanced skills with either of the latter two, he has a renewed vigor and determination when seeking to cut off those cancerous entities in society. This gives Lee a strange sense of efficiency when dealing with his victims, often times coming off as merciless. With that in mind, Lee has always felt certain romanticism accompanied him in his actions. Monologues, usually terrible ones, often precede any foray into the unknown and the man almost always has a quote befitting the situation, also often irritating to his opponents. In addition, he has a tendency to vocally work out problems, often speaking quickly and haphazardly in muffled tones as he tries to work out a scenario.

Catch Phrases: In battle, before engaging an opponent, he will often take a battle stance and acknowledge them by calling out "I see you." He got this habit from his mother, who would cheat in hide and seek when he was younger by watching him as he hid. She would always tease him by telling him she could see him, even from the room over. However, it only caught on and it became a phrase he always uses with his opponent after his mother's death (explained in History).

History:
- Childhood Laments:
- Lionus was born in to a locally prestigious family under rather normal circumstances. The Uzumaki name was of renown amongst the villages around the base of Mount Tanayuka (one of the many mountains in Fire Counrty) typically considered holy dominion, for being excellent medical shinobi and sealing specialists. From a young age, Lee was immersed in to the life of a medical nin. His family was often consulted by village council members and other civilian around the settlements encompassing Mount Tanayuka for medical emergencies and other practices, and it was not long before they reached critical acclaim in the area. The lack of extreme danger or criminal activity around the area made it a teensy bit easier for the family to make a profit simply using their medical skills alone, without any form of advanced medical ninjutsu. At that age, Lee wanted nothing more than to follow in his parent’s footsteps, and he was sowly beginning to do so. As soon as he could read he was gobbling up any books he could on human anatomy or medical ninjutsu or anything at all that he could derive knowledge from. Funnily enough, this was the happiest part of his “Doctor” life and he hadn’t performed on a single patient yet.
His first “operation” was not supposed to be especially difficult. The ten year old Lionus was tasked by his parents to heal an injured cat. A rather stereotypical and boring task, but it was his first and the boy was as thrilled as could be nonetheless. His parents had originally wished to accompany him but the boy adamantly refused and was determined to heal his first patient all on his lonesome. Eventually, his parents relented, thinking the boy was going to have to learn alone eventually, so to the operating table the young boy went. He had practiced well, so finding the cat's injuries and healing them as quickly and gently as possible was not too hard. Things took an unexpected turn for the worse unfortunately quickly, however. As soon as the cat had been recuperated, it was spooked and jumped from the table. In a stroke of bad luck, as most tragedies start out, eyes were off Lee for one second and the cat tore off out of town. Lionus, determined not to fail his first operation, chased on after it.
Now, in the current shinobi world, it was hard not to hear at least rumors about the fascinating ninja and all other sorts of fancy and much more advanced ninjutsu that lay about in the rest of the world, but to a sheltered little town like Lionus’ home, that’s all they were: rumors. For the most part, none of those shinobi came anywhere near the boy’s home and even the ones that did were small and weak and quickly dispatched or didn’t cause any trouble to begin with. Only the elders of the village knew of the world outside their village, but they chose to not give this information to the villagers in fear that they would disperse looking for a larger village and more pay. Lee had figured those tales of criminals and missing-nin were just that, tales meant to scare him in to behaving, he never fully appreciated just how terrible those characters could be. To him, they were always imagined as being big and skeletal, carrying around countless coffins to stuff their victims in to before mercilessly throwing them in to the ground with chains flowing all around them, like death itself. It was only fitting of a childhood personification of evil after all. But at the time, he thought it was all make believe and even for some time after that thought didn’t waver, but as he chased that cat out of town and away from its sanctimonious barrier, the young medic was introduced to the reality of the rumors
As he chased on after the orange tabby sprinting at an unnerving pace, he began to get a bit tired, huffing and puffing as he darted through the mountain pass. Nearby, a few genin had heard him struggling and decided it would be most hilarious to watch him loose that cat and struggle even more, for whatever reason. They all gathered around, spilt their blood, and summoned their joint contract, bringing forth something Lee could never even conjure up in his wildest imagination. He never saw it coming, though. And how unfortunate that was.
Lionus had no idea what was happening. All of a sudden, the young boy went from merrily and determinedly chasing that cat, to being hit, hard, by a massive object right to his shoulder. The boy flew off course, tumbling in the tall grass and rolling to a crumpled heap on his stomach. A few moments passed, the boy trying to regain some awareness, whatever had hit him did not want to kill him yet or something that massive would have already. The Uzumaki tried desperately to roll fully on to his stomach and once he managed that great feat of exertion, whatever had hit him resumed his torment. A sizzling noise shot through the tall grass like wild fire and was then followed by the unearthly screams of a ten year old boy. Down the boy’s spine, hitting every nerve was the powers of the monster above him, causing a searing pain to creep through every orifice of his body, purposely torturing him with monstrous sadism, causing him to scream himself hoarse before the light started to fade around him. His neck snapped back and saw the large monster hovering over him, the wavy outline of a fiery bull, standing over him with nothing but malice and cruel, cruel hunger in its eyes. With his last conscious sight, he watched three black blurs dart across the sky before his eyes faded to black and he saw that ever familiar face that haunted his dreams, the hinged skeletal jaw and the coffins surrounding it, laughing at him.
When Lee awoke next, he was home in his bed. His parents explained that a wildfire kicked up in the tall grass outside of town and he was caught inside it, thankfully people from the town noticed he was missing and found him unconscious just outside the fire’s radius and he only suffered a burn down his back. That they managed to treat before it got infected but would most likely linger there for a moment before their chakra recovered the remaining destroyed cells. The boy did not tell his parents what had transpired. He had read about the effects heat could have on the mind and the memory and Lee decided to conclude that everything he saw was just a fantasy, that it was his mind playing tricks on him and creating images based on his vivid imagination of what death and monsters must look like. There was no way any of it could possibly be real. He only regretted that he never retrieved the cat.
- Academy Days!:
- Lionus changed after that day. He became even more absorbed in his goal to become a medical shinobi and became even less interested in normal child activities. He became defensive about any perceived slight toward him and became even more obsessed with making his name known across not only their little band of settlements, but the world too. When he turned 11, he was enrolled in a large, nearby village's academy. He had no idea there was such a huge establishment so close to his own small town, but when he arrived he was immediately drawn to the scenery and fell in love with his surroundings. He and his mother lived there, while his father had to continue to work outside the village for money. Konohagakure was gorgeous, and Lee was enthralled with seeing every inch of the village and taking pictures for his journal. He would flash several polaroids a day and record them down with an entry about how he felt. For a moment in his life, Lee was focused on simpler things.
But it really did only last a moment. When he began his schooling at 11, he easily passed his exams and his workbook was completed before most other students. He would often preach about how his family was better than the rest and the older he got, the more his classmates resented him for it, attempting to beat him up or steal his things, all inevitably failing. Reason being, they started to call him out on his erroneous claims to superiority still when they were close to graduating and Lee had long since grown out of his boastful stage. At fourteen, Lee was becoming much more like his mother, losing his fathers hot temper and becoming a bit more cool headed. He would never hesitate to throw a sharp insult at his attackers, though, or tease them as he easily maneuvered out of their way. At that time, it was something he didn't think was important enough to try to fix in his personality. The boy came home from school many an evening, battered, bruised and sore as he tried to hide his war wounds from his mother. the last person he knew deserved his respect and at this point, the only one that had still respected him, at least as a person, in Konoha.
Lionus graduated second in his class, just below a female ninja who reminded him very much of his grandmother. She was beautiful and strong willed, hiding it in tone, but boasting it in battle. He very much admired her talent, and was probably the only person his age he didn't feel a slight resentment for. They were close friends, and Lee wrote about her a lot in his journal. He wrote her songs and they hung out often at the Konoha monument of the previous kage. Their friendship didn't last very long, as she did become assigned as a Jounin leader of a team when they were only sixteen. It still is remembered as one of the happiest times of Lee's life, and he often thinks of her in passing thought.
- Road to Chunin:
- Soon after their friendship ended, Lee realized he was slacking in his work. He picked up his pace, then. As he grew, Lee did earn respect as a medical-nin. The boy had developed deductive skills and medical precision of the like that no one had ever seen in ninja his age. He could tell where someone had been, what they ate for breakfast, when, where, and how they'd obtained scars, or how they died just by doing a simple scan of their body.
At the age of seventeen, Lee performed his first, big operation. There was an attempted murder in his hometown, unfortunately. While this would sound like a horrible occurrence to everyone else, and it did, Lee was not shocked, appalled, sad, or anything of the sort. He was excited, over the moon excited. He had never gotten a chance before to really, really prove himself and finally he had one; and prove himself is exactly what Lee did. As soon as he had received the message from his father, he set off from Konoha, back to his small village. Upon arriving, he demanded he be assigned to the medical corps dealing with the case. The boy identified the wounds, internal and external, using only a quick surveillance of the body and an extra thirty minutes to patch up and restore any damages. He also restored any internal organs that may have been punctured or smashed in the brutal attack. Lionus was getting the recognition he deserved for his skills, he was heralded as a lifesaver in his small town, yet the boy still felt the need to return to Konoha, leaving them with a simple, "Thank you, but I must bring meaning to my existence somewhere else now."
When he returned to Konoha, he told his mother all about the news. She immediately went and reported it to his superiors, who in turn felt it was time they allowed him to become a Chunin. They believed the feat was that of a truly splendid doctor, and that he did an amazing job. He and his mother alike were ecstatic, as Lee was finally finding his own. It was then, at seventeen, that he became much more cool headed and calculating. He did very little things off impulse, and more on intelligent thought or estimation. He worked often in the hospital and served on several platoons on specific missions.
- Mother's Passing:
- The next year went by without much incident; the Uzumaki repeated the same boring examinations over and over again, for the same people over and over again. His life was steadily losing meaning it had and it was reflected in his demeanor. He seemed to don an emotionless mask; nothing ever seemed to matter to him as he delivered each “impressive” operation after the next. This had gone on for a while before something would finally break the monotony. The man that had attempted murder in his small town before was still out there and was attacking again far outside the village by the time word got to Lee. The kage at the time had heard of Lionus' impressive skills in providing medical attention to the strange wounds the culprit had inflicted on his victims, so he decided to add him to the platoon as an official medical ninja for the team. He left the village and the forest the entered which was nothing less of momentus. They did eventually catch up to the man, except, he could hardly be considered as such any longer. The body had been mutilated, seemingly chopped up by thousands of knives. There was evidence of multiple lacerations and gouges and his face was barely recognizable, but based on the blood coagulation he would have had to be very much alive or very recently dead for these wounds to match up. There’s no way a single person could have done this to him. His ever so faithfully dimwitted companions brought up the possibility of a gang of some sort doing the deed, but Lee was ignoring their woefully inept observations at this point. He was forced to heal the man's mangled body for the ninja's further investigation, which he did at an extremely accurate and quick pace that the kage had to recognize him.
It was at that time that he truly felt complete. He became a full-fledged, active shinobi for Konohagakure. He began practicing more offensive techniques and other skills at the age of eighteen. It was also then that his mother grew severely ill and passed only weeks later in their hometown, where she chose to rest eternally. She turned to a sobbing Lee and kissed his forehead weakly. Her eyes shut and she smiled brightly. "I see you," she whispered, and then passed. Lionus' mother was the dearest thing in his life, so it was an extremely difficult time to go through. For a month or so he was inactive, only taking small jobs here and there to get his mind off depressing thoughts. Eventually, after five weeks, he was back on his feet and happily doing his duties.
At the age of twenty, he received his own customized mask and the rank of "Anbu," which he accepted surprisingly humbly. His love for the village has grown even more as time passes, and now Lee finally feels he has a purpose in life. His love for plants and rain grew for some reason as he studied ninjutsu, and learned many offensive skills along his growth in case he was forced to defend himself in a dire situation. Now, Lionus walks the village administering the injured and works a full time job as a Medical Anbu. One thing Lee really beats himself up about, is being able to travel to more lands and learn about the herbs and medical practices there. He hopes to one day travel to every country and land and master every form of medical ninjutsu.

- Spoiler:
- The tired Kage slowly made his way through the crowd of people before him, smiling and shouting towards him as he walked by. He smiled politely in response, but never stopped to make chit chat. He was assuming he was already late, having left the house only five minutes before their designated meeting time, and it's been far more than that. He stretched his arms far above his head, still trying to clear the sleep out of his grey orbs. He yawned and fixed his long white scarf, which he was sporting on the irregularly cool day, along with his black shirt and grey sweats he had no reason to change out of this particular morning. He sighed as he saw the Sunagakure pass placed strategically before the village gates. With his leadership still ripe, and removal of certain corps and business, Shinai was forced with setting up precautionary barriers for the village. He walked weakly up the tall staircase to the gate entrance, narrow and dark. He was greeted by a couple random chunin guards, continuing through to just outside the village borders. He took a breath of the dry, summer desert air and waited patiently for the arrival of his partner.
Mamiko dared look up from her position huddled on the floor by the gates, her face buried in her knees. She smiled, so solemn it was almost untraceable on his face as she watched the Kazekage walk right past her. She wasn't sure if he was waiting for her to address him, or he actually didn't see her; either way, Mamiko decided to be the first to speak up.
"H-H-Hello, Hateshinai-s-san," Mamiko started, "H-How are you.. tod-d-day?" Mamiko became frustrated with herself and her inability to speak, but the guards that were near by made her slightly uneasy. The only person she truly felt comfortable around was the man before her. She let an uncomfortable giggle slip past her lips as Mamiko noticed her.
He was slightly surprised at the familiar voice and turned to meet her eyes. "Hello Mamiko," Hateshinai replied, smiling. "Now I actually would love to talk to you for a little, but there are much more pressing matters at hand. The village is virtually defenseless at this point. We need to have some way of protecting our people from intruders," Hateshinai turned from the sitting girl to look across the vast desert, before turning back to her, "And you are the only person capable of barriers strong enough to defend us. Head of Barrier Corps and Medical Institue, Mamiko Hyuga." He made it a point to smile brightly again at the girl. He truly did love her like she was his own daughter. He knew this would be strenuous on her chakra and strength in general upon activation, so he felt the need to build up her confidence. He hates seeing her hurt, already being destroyed on the inside beyond repair, unfortunately. He felt so bad for her, looking in her broken, blank eyes. He offered her a hand, still smiling.
"O-Of course." Mamiko forced herself to smile wider back at Shinai. She fully understood what had to be done. She knew she was one of the only people who had the ability to do so. She took his hand gratefully and nodded to herself when she was up. The man almost towered over her tiny figure, even though he wasn't that all himself. She twirled the ends of her dress absently before looking back up at Shinai. She wasn't positive whether or not she should take the first action, once again. After a moment of standing around awkwardly, she decided to continue with her own decision. She decided to take charge for once, walking to the center of the gate entrance, her back to the desert.
She took a deep breath as she began to form handseals slowly. There were several to make but she was a Jounin, capable of remembering. She began to mold her chakra as she completed the last handseal. She carefully turned to face the desert now, and gestured for Shinai to stand back. She closed her eyes for a second, before re-opening them with a glint of determination and strength in her eyes. A flash of light and a rainbow-like wall busted from the ground. It was transparent enough to see the desert on the other side, only visible because of the colors reflecting off it and the fast pace movement as it expanded and circled around the perimeter of the entire village. All the sides merged and connected at the top , forming a dome-like structure around the entire village, reaching fifty feet above the tallest building, and ten feet underground. As it stilled and the jutsu was near completion, the wall became literally invisible, not only to the eye, but completely untraceable to sensory ninjutsu. Mamiko was breathing heavily now at the extreme amount of chakra excursion it required. She dropped to her knees, but managed to lift her head to smile at Hateshinai.
"The Thirty-Six Layer Self Repairing Barrier Jutsu, otherwise known as Sanjūroku-jū no Saisei Kekkai. This technique normally utilizes the chakra force of an elite team of ninja, linked together by their chakra, to create a thirty-six layered barrier which if damaged, will constantly repair itself with said chakra that emanates from their bodies. The barrier also prevents those outside of it from sensing anything inside it through traditional methods.
It has also been known to be able to stop and contain any individual jinchūriki, and it proved to be strong enough to take a direct Tailed Beast Ball, with only nine of the thirty-six barriers shattering." Hateshinai took a pause to catch his breath, and weave a tiger hand seal. With it, he channeled his chakra through his fingertips to Mamiko. He stood up, then, not offering her a hand this time, knowing it would take some time for her to adjust and her chakra to restore. He folded his arms and simply stared at the girl as he continued.
"Needless to say, despite your high rank, this is an incredible feat. And at your age, you are truly an amazing child." He finished.
Mamiko began to tear up as she listened to the kind words of the kage. She stammered to get words out as she stood up as quickly as possible, feeling a little dizzy still. "T-T-T-Thank you, Shinai!!" She sniffled as the tears streamed down her face. She knew this was only the beginning, however, and she still would need to be inputting a solid amount of chakra to this barrier. And while most of her help is needed inside the village, it is the "loss" of a valid shinobi. She'll have to stay behind in the village, as of today, to maintain the barrier around the village. But in the same way, she felt like she truly was fulfilling her destiny. She decided a year ago she was to live for this man's will, and his will is to protect the village. Now, she truly was defending it to the absolute best of her abilities.
Hateshinai grinned, picking her up and holding her in his arms as they made their way past two utterly shocked and impressed guards. He nodded towards them as he made his way back through the village with the young jounin. He easily ignored the strange looks he got from the villagers, stepping passed crowds and avoiding confrontation with any of the gangs that still hate him so.
He took the moment to think about what further barriers would need to be placed, and in the midst of his thoughts found himself thinking about the girl's strength once again. As he thought back to her exceptional chakra control, medical abilities, and hyuga bloodline as well, it was a wonder this girl wasn't the Kazekage yet. He knew that, however, if ever he was to pass (he chuckled at the belief that he never will pass away) that he would be leaving the village in her capable hands. Emotionally unstable yes, but able to step to the occasion.
"You will be payed properly and in full for this, Mamiko. You deserve it. This can be considered as a B-Rank mission." He informed her, not completely sure she was still listening.
In fact, she had dozed off thinking about the further good she could do for the village. She dreamt (a rare occurrence for her) of leading the village with Hateshinai. Rampaging through the other villages and conquering the world as a team together. They were indeed foolish young thoughts of a young girl, but acceptable ones at that. But she was content with being in the arms of the Kazekage. She woke at the sound of his voice, rubbing her eyes over his shoulder. She spoke softly, "Shinai, I'm tired." An appropriate enough statement. She drifted off again, but was immediately woken again by terrible nightmares. One of the repeated ones of the uncountable visions she had. She began to tear up, but in her moment of strength, fought internally not to ruin it. She bit her lip, and instead kept her tears and nightmares to herself.
"I know, I know," Hateshinai chuckled. "But you will be payed, regardless of whether you're listening or not." Hateshinai was greeted by two guards at the Suna mansion, who opened the door for the two entering. He nodded to them, silently thanking them. Noticing that Mamiko had doze off again, he just walked over to her bedroom and placed her down in her bed. He was afraid she was having her nightmares again, but didn't want to bring it up in fear of making them worse. He sighed as he closed the door behind himself and headed back to the mission hall.
