Takeshi awoke in the later part of the morning, pushing himself out of bed with a yawn and some rubbing of the eyes. The open window in his room let in the chilled breeze from the outside world. Takeshi walked in front of the mirror, taking a quick look at himself before throwing on his clothes and armor. After making sure he looked tidy and presentable, he slipped his mask over his head. The masks resemblance to a hawk was something Takeshi particularly enjoyed, as hawks were one of his favorite animals. He respected and admired them, really. Their watchful, precise, cautious nature is something Takeshi could relate to.

Pleased with his appearance, Takeshi walked through his flat and left through the front door. As he stepped outside, he couldn't help but smile at the mild nip in the air. Takeshi never really did feel comfortable in the heat, so an onset of autumnal weather was always a very welcome thing to him. Enjoying the weather, he began walking toward the Mizukage's building. Today was his first official day on duty as a member of the Anbu Black Ops, the idea both pleased him and made him slightly nervous. He was no stranger to dangerous missions or the ideas behind this division, but they were elite soldiers, and he knew he had to carry this honor with grace and success.

His mind wandered absently until he came upon the building, walking in through the front entrance. As he entered the building, he heard the chatter of many different people. He saw the usual affairs that went on in these places, people accepting missions, some doing paperwork, some standing by idly, and some placing complaints or their own missions that needed shinobi assistance. Takeshi enjoyed this building, the structured format of everything and the calm environment were somewhat rare in his line of work. He approached the mission desk, run by an older man named Kazuya, and waited for his assignment. Kazuya was busy shuffling through some papers, and took a few moments to notice Takeshi. When he finally looked up, he jumped very slightly.

“Gah, you can't just do that to me, my heart can't take that these days. Okay, so, I'm just gonna guess that I'm speaking with Takeshi. I was told to give you this assignment specifically. So, here ya go, enjoy.” After handing the paper to Takeshi, he went back to muttering and shuffling through the mountain of papers on his desk. Takeshi looked at the paper in his hand and read,

“Takeshi, There has been an increase of suspicious activity throughout the forests of Kirigakure as well as within the districts of the village. While the local criminals are still under operation there has been sightings of non-residential cutthroats, brigands, marauders, and every other disciple of the darker occupations. Their movements however are unrelated to those that would be typical of criminals of this level, giving reason to believe that there could be a higher authority presiding over all of their actions. You are to investigate the reason behind these changes, and remove the looming threat to the village before it comes to fruition. The leader is to be apprehended, dead or alive. You are to take along the Genin, Chikara Shujaro. She is in training to become a member of the Anbu, and the mission experience will be good for her, and the leadership training could prove useful to you as well. Wait for her at the beginning of the forest.”

Takeshi finished reading and put the message in one of his leg holsters. He walked outside of the office, then began dashing towards his location, speeding across the rooftops until he reached the gate. He left through the gate, then found the closest entrance to the forest, which was luckily in eye-shot of the gate. He sat down cross-legged and waited for Chikara to arrive.

Enter, Chikara Shurajo

Chikara had awaken before the crack of dawn, the cool breeze streaming from her open window tickled her skin. A soft audible moan made its way throughout the house that belonged to herself and her very much absent papa, the rustling of sheets accompanied the moan. Albeit such a sound lasted for a mere couple of seconds before the room was plunged back into silence. The silence though was disturbed by a yawn that escaped the lips of the pint-sized Genin who had the honors of being an Anbu in training. She stretched out her arms before using them to wipe the sleep from her eyes. Upon deeming herself somewhat awake, she swung her legs from the bed, allowing them to hover over the floor below. Her gaze shifted to the mask that laid on her bedside table, and that smile she was known for graced her lips.

She hoped out of bed, shivering as the cold traveled up her spine, albeit she soon got use to the feeling. She swiftly made her way to the closet, taking out her usual attire and throwing them upon the bed before she went off to shower. Within fifteen minutes, Chikara had showered and dressed, and was currently residing at the dinner table, enjoying a bowl of cereal. She was humming to herself as she shoveled spoonful after spoonful of cereal into her mouth. Soon enough she was finished, and after tidying up the place so that it looked presentable, she left the residences and headed for the training grounds.

Chikara had arrived by roof top, and upon arrival went to practicing the techniques she already knew. She felt there to be no reason for her to go out of her way to learn something new on this particular day. Instead she decided to refine the techniques she already had, for just because she knew them didn’t mean she shouldn’t practice them ever again. So, she ran herself through some katas, punched a hole and whatever tree she could find, and practiced any Shurajo technique she knew. The pint-sized Genin would had done more, if it hadn’t been for the fact that she was approach by an individual wearing a mask. He, or she, didn’t say anything, simply handed her a piece of paper and went on their merry way, though she really wasn’t bothered. She knew how busy the Anbu corps was.

She sighed deeply upon reading the message, folding it neatly before placing it into her pocket. It seemed she would be heading out on a mission with somebody apart of Anbu to help her gain field experience, no doubt orchestrated by her sensei, Hakai. Chikara briefly ran her fingers through her hair before making her way back home to retrieve the mask she had left on her bedside table. Putting that upon her face, she leapt from the window and headed for the meeting spot.

“Shurajo reporting for duty, sir,” Chikara would say, upon approaching the only individual who could possibly be the Anbu she was assigned to.

Takeshi's mind was in a forced blank whilst he sat underneath the branches of a rather large tree which lead to the beginnings of the forest. His meditation had been quite peaceful, and helped him melt away some of his stress he had acquired earlier this morning. However, his concentration was interrupted by the words,

“Shurajo reporting for duty, sir.” Takeshi then opened his eyes to find a rather small girl standing in front of him, wearing the mask of an Anbu, or in this case, an Anbu in training. His face twitched a little at being called 'sir'. It felt strange, nobody had ever called him sire, as far as he could remember. He wasn't entirely sure he enjoyed it.

Takeshi stood up and brushed himself off, then faced his trainee. He stood silent and motionless as he observed her, looking into her eyes for a few moments. Having gained the information he needed, he gave a small nod and motioned for her to follow. He quickly turned around and jumped into the tree's branches about 10 feet up. Without waiting to make sure he was followed, he sprung forward, dashing from branch to branch at high speed.

I almost feel bad being as hurried as I am, but we have little time to spare, and this could be a good way to gauge her abilities in a small way. Obviously I can expect much from this girl, since it is quite rare for someone to become an Anbu in training like this, especially at so young an age, Takeshi thought to himself, keeping his pace.

After what Takeshi gauged to be almost 15 minutes, he halted suddenly on a branch. He could feel the smallest trickle in his mind, signaling a source of chakra nearby that was not his own, nor Chikara's. Considering the time spent travelling, he estimated himself about a kilometer or two away from one of the higher traveled sections of the forest, which coincidentally had a peculiarly high rate of murders and muggings. If there were a place to start his investigation, this would be it.

Unsure of whether or not this chakra source was a friendly one, lead Takeshi to the decision to stand by and wait for his trainee to catch up to him.

Enter, Chikara Shurajo

Someone had told her once before that staring wasn’t polite, albeit she had never taken such words to heart. Thusly so, she didn’t take said words into consideration as she stared at the individual who would be her captain for the day, said words becoming simply flitting thoughts that had crossed her mind for no more than a second. She observed the man physical appearance, drawing little conclusion from it but still took note. Once her assessment was done, her eyes traveled to that of the man, head cocking to the side as the stared at one another momentarily. From that, Chikara drew up the conclusion that he had done the same thing she had been doing, except she felt that his more trained eye would pick up on things that she wouldn’t be able to.

She straighten her head, eyes flickering about as she followed the Anbu member. Thoughts raced through her mind, most of which pertained to how the mission would go. So had no doubt that this mission wouldn’t end up as a rerun of the one she had went on with Akio, this particular individual being far more experienced than Akio, albeit she knew that such a thing meant nothing. Her former sensei had experience, but at the first sight of trouble, he fled and was killed because of it. Yet, she believed that this man didn’t have a cowardly bone in his body, or at least she hoped he did not. Chikara shook her mind free of such troublesome thoughts, knowing that she shall learn about this Anbu member in due time and that worrying about things that she couldn’t control was a waste of time.

So she sighed deeply, dispelling the thoughts from her mind and focusing on the task at hand, which at the moment was following the Anbu member. A task that wasn’t hard for her to complete for she was fast as well as strong despite what her small frame would suggest.

Chikara traveled through the tree branches in silence, not wanting to break the man’s concentration. Instead she focused on the route they were taking, as well as going through the mission details that had been gathered from the piece of paper she had received prior to meeting the leader. Fifteen minutes passed by, the pint-sized Genin far too unconcern with time to have noticed. Suddenly she halted, only having done so because the Anbu had.

Her eyes flickered about, attempting to discern what had made her leader stop, but couldn’t find anything. Thus, her attention was placed onto the leader, awaiting his orders before she would move. For she didn’t want to get caught up in whatever her leader had sensed.

Only moments passed before Chikara reached him, obviously curious to the reason for their stopping. Takeshi let his mind expand, reaching out to the surrounding area, hoping to pinpoint the location of this chakra source. His mind followed the line of chakra, eventually coming to an expanse of the forest where the trail was suddenly mixed with multiple chakra signatures. So he's obviously not alone, which complicates it a little. I would guess that there's at least 3 there, possibly 4. Takeshi thought to himself, assessing the situation.

He then turned to Chikara and said, "I've found a trail of chakra. The trail leads about 100 meters or so to the west, where it then mixes with other chakra. What I've gathered is that there's a group of 3 to 4 people, none of which are fighting. If there's somewhere to start looking to investigate, this would be it. I'm unsure if these are the people we're looking for, so we can't go in until we know for certain. We will approach stealthily, then watch and listen. You are to stay by my side unless stated otherwise. Should a fight break out, stand back unless I call for help. In the face of an ambush, run until I can finish it and regroup." Being the superior, he didn't wait for any acknowledgement, he simply began moving toward the target location.

Upon reaching the destination, he crouched forward. He climbed higher into the tree to gain a good vantage point and to remain unseen. He let a breath leave his body as he willed his chakra to hide itself, on the off-chance that this group had someone trained in sensing. He scanned the meadow far below his space up in the trees. To his annoyance, he saw 4 men sitting and talking. If we do need to fight, this could get slightly difficult. None of them immediately worry me, based on their chakra, but you never know what you might find with people like this. I'll just have to be careful.

Takeshi's mind wandered as he sat and watched the men.

Lurking on the Borders [Mission with Chikara] Chikar10

Enter, Chikara Shurajo

Chikara found herself briefly, briefly, annoyed with the squad leader. Sure, she was happy that he had shared with her what he had found, sure she liked the fact that there was a plan in place if they were to engage their target, but she didn’t like that she hadn’t been given the chance to ask some questions. She also didn’t like the fact that he wanted her to stay out of the things if a fight were to happen, and to run in the case of an ambush, a plan she didn’t fully agree with. She may be a Genin, but she wasn’t a weakling, yet she couldn’t really question the orders of her superior. Instead, all she could do was frown, and remind herself that this was probably how things were run in the Anbu corps. She needed to get use to following orders, and this mission will help.

She sighed deeply, before quickly following the leader of the duo as she was instructed to. Chikara kept silent, real silent, every footfall was soft, every breath was controlled, and she didn’t even speak. Her leader had wanted stealth and he would get it. She didn’t know how long they had traveled nor how far, but when her leader stopped, she did the same thing, landing beside him. A quick glance at him and her attention was turned to what was going on below, taking note of the men that were below. None seemed to have noticed the duo that had just arrived, which had her assuming that there wasn’t a sensor amongst them or they were very confident in their ability to handle themselves.

She once again looked at her leader, waiting to see how he would react to the situation. Would they attack now, or continue to monitor the group? Those were the questions that ran through her head, but none left her mouth. The instructions of the man still fresh in her mind. Stealth.

Chikara had been amazed with the skills her leader possessed, being able to take on four men alone was quite the feat. Yet, she wouldn’t be able to watch, for as instructed by her leader, she needed to depart from the scene. And being the sort of person who obeyed orders, she left, though it was sad indeed. Yet she would be able to see the skills the man had when a lone member of the group had decided that she was a much better target. Watching as the man swiftly dispatched of him. With the mission basically complete, with no help on her part, the two would head home. Chikara having learned some valuable lessons.

Since Take has failed to post within the time limit I gave him, Chikara shall be exiting this mission. The basic rundown, the duo was notice and per Take's instructions, Chikara fled the scene so that her leader can handle the group without having to worry about her. Albeit, one had managed to get pass him and went to take Chikara as hostage, but Take was able to prevent that and defeat the last person. Chikara was able to watch how an Anbu is suppose to work during the mission, as well as learn how to conduct herself. And with that, the two went home.
