Haruna Oshiro

The Innocent Malice

Missions:

Haruna hated hospitals. She hated the strong smell of cleaning solution that assaulted her nose every time she entered one. The loud and busy atmosphere wasn’t she was into, and the fact that everything was white didn’t help her opinion of the facility. A hospital had to be the worse place to stay on top of it all, their food being beyond terrible and made her wonder how anybody consumed it without throwing it right back up. She knew that she hadn’t been able to stand the whiteness of the walls, the stench of cleaning solution, the overly sweet doctors and nurses, and the disgusting food that she wouldn’t even feed a dog when she had made the occasional trips to the hospital. If she could barely stand a single minute in a hospital, she didn’t know how she would conduct her most recent mission.

She had been hyped at first for this mission, for it had been a while since she had done an assassination mission that didn’t involve civilians. The target was a rival mafia boss who had received decent shinobi training, but even with that training he had flunked out of the academy at seventeen. Being unable to achieve his dream of joining the shinobi force hadn’t done much help for his psyche, and at nineteen he had fled from his home and got himself integrated into the world of crime. Within ten years he had managed to ascend from a simple foot soldier to the man running it all. He made wise choices, integrating gangs into his mafia, making deals with the local business, and expanding his territory.

All seemed to be going well for him, and he looked like he had things together, but that was before the falling out with another mafia boss, her employer. Apparently the two bosses had been friends who had meant a year into the hospitalized man’s position has a foot soldier. They became friends quite quickly and worked together for five years, yet a falling out and her client departing to start his own gang unattached to the mafia left both sides a little bitter. So when her client spotted an opportunity to get rid of his old friend as well as take over the group he had originally been apart of, he took it. He had sent two ill trained mercenaries to handle the job, something which had been a mistake since they were relatively new to the game and thus didn’t know how to conduct an assassination properly.

They had managed to land their target in the hospital, but they had failed miserably at their task and after getting chewed out by her client, they were sent away without pay. Knowing that he had to get rid of his former friend before he awoke from his coma and was able to begin moving his men for a counterstrike, her employer had decided that he would hire competent shinobi who had a reputation of getting the job done. That was how she got hired to finish the job that had been started by the two mercenaries, and she had decided to take her red-haired companion along for the ride. The Shurajo had changed since she had been taken under the Oshiro’s wing, though the Oshiro wouldn’t take any credit for the transformation the Shurajo had undergone. The kid had always had it in her, she had just locked away the qualities she deemed ugly in favor of more desirable qualities. All Haruna did was allow the kid to notice that she didn’t need to be afraid of her berserk state and to embrace it, for battling against her instincts wouldn’t help her within the criminal world.

And the kid had taken her words to heart, embracing the bad without getting rid of the good. There was no longer a good Chikara and a berserk Chikara, there was simply a Chikara, and she was happy that she had been the one to show the red-haired Genin the way. So what did that have to do with the mission at hand, well the appearance of a smiling Chikara emerging from the hospital and telling her that the job was done should be obvious enough. A smile spread across Haruna’s face, and she pet the younger female before the two headed back to their employer’s residence so that they could get paid.

The Crimson Princess

“What a nice, light fog we have today, Haruna-sama,” the Shurajo said as she walked alongside the Oshiro, the individuals slowly approaching the hospital where their latest target rested in a coma. It had only been an hour since the older female had contacted her through their secret channel, stating that they had a client and to meet her at the Kaguya temple. She had been in the middle of cooking herself a gourmet lunch, but had dropped everything and immediately departed from the house. She knew that Haruna didn’t like waiting and that if she took any longer than ten minutes she would definitely feel it in the morning. So after having calmly exit Kirigakure, she immediately began sprinting to the Kaguya temple, arriving seven minutes later.

Details about the mission had been shared before the Shurajo and Oshiro started out for the hospital. She had been informed that she would be going in alone, for the Oshiro’s greatest weakness was the heavy smell of cleaning solution. Chikara would had never thought that Haruna would have such an impractical weakness, for the smell didn’t bother her and she had heard that the food was pretty decent, but Haruna said otherwise and there was no way she was getting into a heated debate with the Oshiro. So she accepted the opinion Haruna had of hospitals, concerning herself with how she should conduct herself during the mission. It was an honor to do a mission without Haruna watching her every move, and rather closely at that, as if she were a hawk. She had a chance to prove to the Oshiro that she had learned a lot since going under her wing, and that was something that put a smile on her face.

She sighed deeply as she stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets, glancing at Haruna from the corner of her eye. Not much had been said between the two, for Haruna had a businesslike mentality whenever she had a job to do. It was work and nothing but work, casual conversations could happen during her free time, which the twelve-year-old didn’t have much of. Not with her taking the Shurajo along on various missions as well as the training the two girls did. She was very busy despite her age, and very mature, except for those few quirks that she possessed.

Now three meters in front of the hospital, in full view may she add, the two individuals halted their advances. The Shurajo smirked, cocking her head to the side, looking at the Oshiro from the corner of her eyes. “I shall be back in a jiffy,” she said, winking at the Oshiro before closing the gap between herself and the building. She swore she heard Haruna mumble for her to not get cocky, something that had made her chuckle. A deep breath and she was no longer outside, which had been much quieter than the hospital. That trademark hospital smell hit her face, but she grew accustom to it fairly quickly. She kept herself calm, not allowing her excitement to overrun her senses as she advanced down the hall, acting as if she was there to see somebody and knew where they were without having to check with a nurse. And in a way, she did know where she was going, having received a layout of the hospital so that she would know what particular room her target was in.

Instead of immediately going to kill her target, she decided that she would get an idea of where those two bodyguards were that Haruna had briefly mentioned. Standing tall and quiet, dressed in all black and looking rather out of place due to their intimidating appearance, Chikara had no problem spotting the guards. Both were outside of the room, guarding the door for their life depended on it as well as that of the resident inside. So waltzing through the front door was a no, not without a weapon at least. So she had to take option number two, which was going in through the ventilation system.

She retraced her steps so that she was back in the reception room, moving along to the bathroom, knowing that it had a vent and would be far less noticeable to climb through than any other option the facility had. That tree walking skill came in handy as she casual walked up the wall and to the vent, unscrewing the cover before slipping inside. Navigating her way through the system, she found herself above the coma patient that was her target. The two guards were still outside, at least from what she could tell. Quietly removing the vent cover and shoving it to the side, Chikara would hop into the room below.

“Afternoon, Mr. Target,” Chikara whispered, grinning from ear to ear as she walked around to the left side of the bed. Looking at the various things the man was hooked up to as well as his rather beat up form, it amazed her that the individuals hired before herself and Haruna hadn’t been able to finish the job. She would think about this as she slid the pillow from underneath her target, pressing the material over his face. She had to wait six minutes, for that was how long it took to suffocate somebody, and wait she did ensuring that she was quiet throughout the entire procedure. No reason to alert the men outside of her presence. Deeming that enough time had gone by, she removed the pillow from his face, checking to make sure he didn’t have a pulse before placing the pillow back underneath his head.

With that, she departed from the room the same way she had come into it, through the ventilation system. Five minutes later and she was out of the hospital all together, approaching Haruna with that twisted smile on her face. “All done!” Chikara would proclaim, receiving a smile and a pet upon the head. With that the two were gone.
