Siegfried

Siegfried

"This is the site Maddox? Jeez, what a shit-hole..."

"It was all I culd find that cud suit yer... 'special' conditions, mistuh Kazayan..."

Siegfried gave his head a light scratch as he studied the barren field in which his training would have to commence, solo. His mother was out on a mission which did not have a scheduled time of duration, so he had to make preparations himself... mostly himself. Maddox was a simple-minded man, a former Jōnin that had taken more than a few blows to the head during an invasion mission. He was never really the same again, classified as "simple-minded". Not quite mentally retarded, more of a cheap knock-off of the real thing. He still could do simple tasks, and this was not that bad of an accomplished one. "Is this to yor likeng mistuh Kazayan?"

"Yea... this is just about well. Thank you for the help. Go on now, I need my solitude." The simple man simply gave a hurried nod and scurried off out of sight, out of hearing and out of mind. Siegfried made slow breaths and counted them as he began to walk into the barren field of dirt, earth and small patches of grass.

Siegfried

Siegfried

The soil felt coarse underneath Siegfried's shoes, but that was not an issue for the time being. Earth was earth no matter how one switched it up or gave it another name; the brown stuff that made up a large portion of the planet was always going to be earth. Siegfried's brain made a back-flip, and unknowingly "forgot" many of the Earth Release abilities his mother had taught him. The Fire Release abilities were scarce in the head, and the Lava Release abilities were not so remembered either. In short, the young Genin had to trick his mind into remembering how to perform those techniques that he so arduously trained years ago.

Not relatively far underneath where Siegfried graced the earth, molten rock flowed about like the oceans and tides of the surface world. Although wearing shoes he could feel the smooth movements of the magma underneath, and felt as well the strange attraction between himself and the molten earth. It was a strange sensation, having a connection the molten core of the very planet. Its form and its ever-branching rivers and oceans of magma were theoretically in Siegfried's control. There had to be a way to access such a near-infinite source of mafic power without having to use the complicated intricacy of hand-seals.

Legends told of an indescribably horrendous creature of four tails, a primate that dubbed itself king of the monkeys and monkey sages. Misanthropic was the beast, but magnificent was its power. From what Siegfried always heard, it was something along the lines of a tailed beast, but the Genin never paid attention to the old wives tales told around bedtime. This monkey king was the first Lava Release user, and was said to be the purest essence of Lava Release itself. The beast never had to use hand-seals to make use of lava. In fact, it could simply spit magma from its very mouth, and conjure forth eruptions just by exerting its physical power. His mother's techniques were not bad, but Siegfried saw inspiration in something he did not exactly think to exist in the living world.

Manipulation of the molten earth beneath the earth's crust did not seem so impossible now, Siegfried was so sure of it now. He decided to ditch some of his clothing, mainly his socks and shoes, blazer and buttoned shirt and tie. He stood in burgundy slim jeans and a black, walking barefoot on the course dirt. It was a bold and somewhat risky move, but the job was going to get done either way. Siegfried could now "feel" the flowing oceans and rivers of lava beneath the earth and attempted to conjure its power without hand-seals. It was radical thinking, but Siegfried was a radical guy and making moves like this was in his nature.

He closed his eyes and took deep, slow breaths before fixing himself in a stance to help channel the ancient and probably non-existent ability of manipulating lava without hand-seals. If a fictitious misanthropic four-tailed monkey could possess the power of geo-thermokinesis, why not an average shinobi like Siegfried, right? Right? Left leg forward and right leg slightly behind, and the shoulders slouched and relaxed, but not too lax. Siegfried opened his amber wolf-like eyes and took a step forward on his right foot with great swiftness that he never felt before, and took his left leg forward. As he began to bring his foot down, in those split seconds, he felt the magma underneath the earth beckoning to rise and breach the surface. It was a strong feeling, almost like gravity pulling his foot down. Siegfried took this on and slammed down his left foot with all of his might, and was astonished and shocked to see the result.

As if the old wives tales were true, a torrential wave of lava raced forth, massive in width and height erupted from the ground. As quickly as it had breached the surface it came cascading down ahead, landing right on a large tree stump. The stump near-instantly lit up in flames, and corroded in many places from the lingering lava. The ground around the area was almost searing hot and the intensity of the heat washed over Siegfried in a loving embrace. It felt good feeling the heat of lava, but it also felt good chipping at the rules of ninjutsu. "Element-enhanced taijutsu sounds about right to describe this."

Siegfried

Siegfried

Element-enhanced Taijutsu sounded something along the lines of Nintaijutsu, but Siegfried did not have access to an ability of such a nature... not as yet. His ultimate goal was to obtain the Lava Release Armor, one of the prized techniques of his advanced element. For someone who emphasized Taijutsu like himself, Siegfried knew well the immense benefits and disadvantages of the technique, having seen it being used by his mother in combat and in defense. There was just something interesting about the aspect of the technique that made Siegfried want to learn it, but he was of a lower rank and his body could not maintain the amount of chakra needed to sustain it

There were different possibilities in what one could achieve with Lava Release, but Siegfried could not unlock all of it in a single day, could he? It was a stretch he was reluctant to take, and decided not to take in fear of over-exhaustion. He gave a sigh and watched the magma he conjured a few minutes ago cool down into steaming igneous rock. There were, of course, other mediums for using Lava Release. The aspects of a volcano were at his disposal in theory so why not something else besides lava? Siegfried pondered on the other aspects of a volcano that could be invoked. Lava and magma were already down, igneous rock was available after the former two cooled down but there was something else that he was missing. It usually happens when a volcano erupts, spreading out amongst the wind.

"Volcanic Ash!", exclaimed the Genin as he decided to go on with creating a technique that utilized volcanic ash. However the more he thought about it the more he thought about the old wives tales about the Yonbi. His former excitement was slowly fading away and in its place curiosity and bewilderment. Siegfried accomplished something that many said only this four-tailed creature could perform Lava Release abilities without the usage of hand-seals, performing them through sheer physical exertion. However, here was Siegfried, a Genin who achieved the same innate ability with sheer physical power. He needed to try and remember those old wives tales to get a better insight, but it would be difficult. Siegfried never really paid attention to them, dismissing them as silly stories to seed false hope into little unruly brats. Maybe somewhere in the stories there was a hidden message? The Genin took a seat on the ground, legs crossed over and assuming the Lotus position. There was going to be serious inner meditation to figure out what he had to do in order to tap into that primordial power, if it was even possible. He closed his eyes and dug deep into his mind to bring forth the old wives tales.

Childhood memories were all that stood in his way, the very indescribably memories of his father were far in the abyss of thought and the memorable moments with his mother, half-brother and the Academy were in the forefront. Although valuable and worth reminiscing, Siegfried was not prodding his mind for reliving good times. No, he was on a mission to discover ancient power not seen in the shinobi world for many many years. Certain memories made him itch, others almost broke his meditative thought but most harmlessly passed by. The further he prodded into his memory the more Siegfried realized the struggles his mother endured to make sure he came out stronger than she was. Losing a home and having to move to the outskirts of Konohagakure no Sato seemed more like a blow than it did when he was seven. He still went to the village every now and then, but he spent his days training Lava Release.

The memory of the old woman cradling Siegfried came up after intense digging, the Genin grabbing at it with mental tendrils that pulled with all their might. He was beginning to feel smaller, more fragile and feeble, but his mind was still his own and had not lost any of the knowledge he gained over the years. The old woman was his mother's mother, silver-haired and filled with geriatric knowledge of stories about events long gone and nearly forgotten.

"There there, little one," she said cradling the young Siegfried. "Let me tell you a story about a monkey from long ages past. There once was a red-furred monkey named Son, who was the king of the monkey sages. He was brash, bold and arrogant but loved his kin more than he loved himself. He hated humans, because they only saw him as a tool for destruction. So, Son took the earth and made it hot with his body energy, so hot that it became hot and molten. He was the first Lava Release user, and his power is right here in you." She smiled and placed an elderly hand on his chest where the heart was. Siegfried's baby form gave a laugh, and so did his grandmother. In reality, Siegfried gave a chuckle himself, opening his eyes slowly and giving the ground before him his utmost attention before looking up.

"So the monkey has a name, eh? Hmm, such a tragic story but I don't think that's the end of it. There has to be more about this." Siegfried got to his feet and stood up erect, posturing himself so all of the chakra in his body could flow. Whatever possessed him to do so was anyone's guess. He relaxed himself and closed his eyes, taking a singular deep breath. His body felt more relaxed, the tension of before melting away indiscriminately. His mother's voice echoed in his ear three steps to achieving zen, to achieving peace of mind and body and enlightenment.

Alleviate yourself of fear and guilt...

Siegfried exhaled and inhaled another breath, letting his archaic Lava Release chakra flow through his body. His body heat rose steadily but with great intensity. Heat was visibly emanating from his arms and feet, the strange crackling and popping sounds of lava beginning to ascend with volume.

...shame and grief...

Another exhalation and inhalation of breath went on by, Siegfried bringing his closed fists to his chest. His legs were spread out barely, but enough to give space and equal balance. The Lava Release chakra was pumping harder than ever, the Genin's body feeling hotter than the hottest of flames.

...and lies and illusions...

Siegfried's forearms and legs (from the knees down) became coated in mafic magma and then coated over in dense igneous rock fashioned in the form of claws and feet reminiscent to that of a monkey. His eyes opened and with a final exhalation of breath he roared a violent surge of lava from his lungs into the sky above. Lava rained all over, burning the ground and dirt.

... and all earthly attachments!

Siegfried made no noise, spoke of nothing and did not make any gestures. For a while he just stood there, watching his forearms, hands and lower portion of his legs covered in magma and igneous rock. It was like the Lava Release Armor, but there was something different to it. There was something more primal to it, more primordial. In his ears he heard the birds chirping nearby and the rustling of leaves in trees. He took one more breath, just be sure this was all real. Volcanic ash escaped his lungs and clouded the air briefly and poorly. "I'd be lying if I said this isn't pretty badass."

B-Ranked Technique wrote:Name: Shisei no Yonbi || Stance of the Four Tails
Rank: B
Type: Fighting Style
Used For: Offensive | Defensive | Supplementary
Element: Lava Release
Range: |Body Range|
Duration: as long as user has sufficient chakra to upkeep
Hand Seals/Charge up: N/A
Description: First the user stands erect and takes a deep breath. In doing so they calm their body, releasing tension within their joints for more flexible movement. They will take a second breath, however, this time they channel Lava Release chakra through their body, causing them to exhale smoke. Closing their fists they bring them to their chest, fist-to-fist. They spread out their legs slightly to circulate more Lava Release chakra through their body. The third and final breath that the user exhales lava violently into the air. The user's legs (feet to knees) and arms (hands to elbows) attain a coating of hardened magma with visible glowing cracks within (suggesting flowing magma underneath) that have the appearance of warped armor-esque skin. Each breath they exhale comes out as volcanic ash. In doing so they have prepared their body in the fighting style only known as the Stance of the Four Tails. Every physical strike from the user is as strong as a B-Rank Lava Release technique.

Momentarily, the user can shed the solidified lava from their arms/legs and strike (in the duration of three post) with searing hot magma itself. This form has the ability to melt away at most organic materials after two posts of prolonged contact

The body parts affected by the coating of solidified lava have an immunity to Fire Release, Earth Release and Lava Release of the same rank and below. This can also defend against Taijutsu and Kenjutsu abilities of the same rank and below

Weakness: The user's speed decreases by a single Taijutsu rank, having to lug around the weight of solidified magma (shedding the rock puts the user back at his/her normal Taijutsu speed). Iron and carbon-enhanced steel do not melt at the heat of magma (roughly 1200 degrees Celsius), meaning that Kenjutsu attacks hitting the body parts that have shed their solidified magma armor more effective, and can cause more lasting damage.

Water Release abilities, upon hitting the body parts affected by this technique, can have the effect of entombing the body parts in igneous rock for a single post. Only Taijutsu (including elementally-enhanced) can be used in this form

This technique follows the lasting jutsu cost for a B-Ranked technique

Siegfried

Siegfried

Siegfried stood reborn-ish, having finally attained a new ability to reflect his sudden urge to imitate a creature that may not even exist. Besides, if it did everyone would be talking about it, right? Giant tailed creatures would always be the subject of talk and debate, villagers would be warned of what to do in case one attacked a village, evacuation drills and the like. He gave a sigh and chuckled, re-affirming his belief that such an odd and malevolent creature of mass destruction actually had an existence in this world. Siegfried made simple movements about the area, which led him to see that he grew considerably slower with the dense igneous rock about his legs and forearms. However, he did learn that he could shed some of the same igneous rock off and move around with molten, mafic arms and legs at his normal speed. The discovery of the technique was phenomenal, but Siegfried was beginning to feel tired.

Maybe the effects of invoking such an obscene power did have a toll on the user, after successive uses of it without room for rest. Siegfried did not panic when the time came to cancel the technique and simply concentrated on the technique cancelling itself. It took quite some time and effort, but after two minutes he accomplished the act and noticed none of his clothes burned in the process. "Thank Kami, because I wasn't about to walk into the village half-naked with my wanker swinging around." He placed back on the clothes he took off earlier and witnessed the first technique's batch of lava harden into igneous rock. Something about all of this made him smile, learning to use Lava Release in new and unique ways. "Heh, they should be calling me Siegfried of the Lava Release now." The Genin chuckled as he walked off for the village to rest and complete some jobs.

Neatly placing his mask on top of his Anbu gear he grabbed his Jounin vest he wouldn’t need that those things where he was going. Today Alder would be facing a new challenge he has been assigned Genin it was the first time this had happened apparently the higher ups had decided it was time for him to give back to the younger generation? Perhaps his jobs in Anbu, and the Torture and Interrogation Force weren’t enough not to mention his research. Now I have to look after three genin. Where am I going to find the time. Having been assigned a genin team was a great responsibility and it would take future priority his other work would be distributed amongst others in order to let Alder focus on his current project.

Alder had left clues about where and when to meet him. When he learned that he would be leading this squad he had opportunity learn a lot about them but he didn’t take this chance. Instead today’s meeting would be about his passion just as much as it was squad introduction.

Walking through the training grounds thick grouping of trees he reveled in its beauty and was careful to leave it as much like he found it as possible. These actions were however pointless the animals new that these grounds were generally not the safest place to be do the fact they were constantly subjected to shinobi exercises instead they typically made their homes in the Forrest Death, Nara woods, and further out. Nevertheless Alder enjoyed what was around birds and rabbits. The wind shifted and the burning smell became more prevalent. Keeping his cool Alder looked the sky, the birds weren’t moving away in flocks. Someone must had been practicing the Katon but the smell was faint. They probably finished earlier. Alder was early so he didn’t expect find anyone when get got there. But to his surprise one of the genins has made before him. The smell that drifted towards him was of lava that had burnt up the area earlier. Waving he broke through the tree smiling catching the rays of sun off his forehead protector, that was located on his waist.

Siegfried

Siegfried

Although it was beginning to get dark Siegfried still felt that he needed to practice more techniques before the day was completely over. The sky appeared serene; the sun on the end of the horizon giving the impression that the sky was ablaze. Birds were flying off in the distance, heading towards the forest where their homes were and where their babies and families were waiting. Siegfried had a family, although it was not as cookie-cutter perfect like animals were. He lived with his mother far off on the border of the Land of Fire, but he had a half brother who lived with their father in the Uchiha compound inside the village. When he was younger, thoughts like this would have troubled Siegfried into a quiet and melancholic state, but now he was older and grew more apathetic to the situation with every passing day. He was not a troubled teen as some shrinks suggested. His mother understood him the most, and she knew that her son just could not afford to care anymore.

Evelyn Kazan was Siegfried's mother, best friend, training partner and sagely adviser all in one person. She was Siegfried's malleable tether to keeping his mind in tact, and his greatest asset when the situation came to it. Thinking about her brought the true potential in Siegfried, and thinking about her wisdom and and words at that moment roused a fire in his body that was burning with passion. He had not noticed the entrance of the shinobi, as he had his concentration focused on the building heat in his body. Siegfried had his legs spread apart and his posture fixed and rigid. He tensed his muscles to the very limit, letting the heat fester and build up. Lava Release chakra was being mixed in during this process, causing a heat-wave to affect the area. Energy was pushing away from him, making him the epicenter of gathering Lava Release chakra, and it was only getting hotter the closer one would approach the Genin.

He finally released his muscles and tension, making an X pattern with his forearms in front of his body, closing his eyes. A red aura began to emanate from his body in a violent manner as he released this energy for the first time ever. Siegfried cast his arms to the side as his eyes became a solid yellow, the red aura settling down around his body. It barely left his body, six inches at best. He gave a modest sigh and turned around to meet the masked man who made his way into the scorching clearing. Siegfried fixed his clothing, standing in his normal half-uniform attire: a formal white button shirt with the first button undone, the sleeves and cuffs rolled up to his elbows neatly to give a casual vibe. Around the neck is a loose red tie, red as blood and as soft as silk which further gives his casual vibe. He keeps his shirt tucked into cleanly ironed black jeans and set in place with a black belt with a polished iron buckle shaped as a diamond. These are boot-cut black jeans to be precise, his feet being covered by bandages around the middle. Over them are simple white ankle-length socks and black shoes with white lacing.

"Hello there sir? Is there a reason you're here?"

The user envelops his/her body in an aura as hot as felsic lava, the coolest type of lava (650 °C min.). Although nowhere near as drastic and efficient as the aura of the Lava Release Armor, this aura can easily burn those of the user's Taijutsu rank. The user can also evaporate small amounts of water if the situation came to it, creating steam

Weakness: Someone who is above the user's Taijutsu rank will be unaffected by the heat due to the speed increase of the proceeding rank. A Water Release tech of equal rank and above can dispel the technique. The user can only use Taijutsu while this aura is active

Alder had was a bit disappointed he had thought that young man had showed up early because he had received message of squad assignment and deciphered the clues.  He just happened to be lucky, luck was desirable but you couldn't count on it.  But it wasn't too late he might still hold the other qualities that Alder was looking for after all he wasn't taking it easy.  Looking around it was clear he had been training hard.

I am guessing you have been here most of the day?  You and the rest of your classmates were assigned a squad today.  Most if not all of the squads met this morning.”  Alder had purposely set the meeting at night.  It would have given the squad members all day do prepare. For this moment the waiting could have potentially made nervous and full of anxiety, eaten too much dinner, not eaten at all until later, and even spied on other meetings.  The possibilities were endless.  Although this young man didn't spend his day worrying about this moment he also was not the best prepared. He would be tired from training, low on chakra, and hungry.  These thoughts crossed Alders mind as he used his observations to make educated assumptions that he wouldn't as fact until he knew it to be so.  Even still the test had begun. "What are you going to do if you missed your meeting?" If luck is what it took rest of the squad to be on time he wished they also had that quality
