It had been mere seconds since the room stopped shaking and the hidden door revealed the pitch black tunnel and the sound of crickets emanating from its depths.  How odd.  Why were there crickets?  Maybe it was apart of the Test.  Maybe it was just a bunch of crickets?  But they didn't have long to dwell on that train of thought before a voice without a body began speaking in it's booming tone.

"You have only a few minutes to get your shit together and get into that tunnel before this floor collapses and sends you down with the rest of the failures.  I guess it will do no harm in telling you this now.  These Chunin Exams are a sham.  There will be no promotion at the end of this cavern.  But there is a chance you can escape.  If you can find a way to get the statues and open the door, you may be able to escape.  You may be wondering why I am telling you this.  It is because it is no fun killing people who quit.  Oh yea.  I'll be letting in my puppies to make sure you do as told."

Then, as suddenly as the voice appeared it disappeared leaving only silence.  Or was it?  Was that the sound of hounds baying from the entrance?  They better hurry into the roughly carved tunnel before whatever was outside that door got inside.  It was easily wide enough for six large men to walk side by side together.  Suddenly there was a noise that sound like something was trying to crash through the door they had entered through.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

Silence is what ruled the the room as the group stood in the room.  Well, there was silence but there was also the sound of air gusting into the room from the smoothly carved tunnel.  Any general glance at the tunnel would show that it would barely accommodate single file line.  It was short and narrow.  Would definitely pose a problem to them should they get in a fight while inside of it.  Of course the trio would get no rest before a few stones began falling from the floor, signifying it was time to leave.

"You better run," came the melodic voice from nowhere.  "I know not how long I can hold off the floor collapse.  This is not the real Chunin Exams.  You were all kidnapped and administered a drug to render you an amnesiac.  You have been here a whole week already."  The voice was suddenly interrupted by the sound of banging and shouting.  "You must hurry.  The key to escaping is inside the bo...Yo...m..t...get to t...end...pedestal...door..."

Even the wind had stopped gusting.  Then floor that was in in front of the door the entered from collapsed into the darkness that was below them.  If they didn't hurry though would be dropped into the inky blackness never heard from again.

The echoing of the floor slowly falling away was all the genin could hear.  If they were smart they would squeeze themselves into the tunnel as fast as they could.

Akki

Akki watched as the door opened after the rumbling had stopped, breathing in deeply the fresh air that rushed into the room. But his momentary joy was cut short as the stones from the floor began to fall, starting at where they entered and heading in their direction. The cave that was revealed was small, forcing them to walk in a single line. The hallway was dark, as dark as a cloudy night sky with no moon or stars. One would not be able to see more than a foot in front of their face. A voice shouted from nowhere, ringing in the room as Akki moved to the corridor hastily, hearing its words echo into his ears. It was obviously time to move, but what was this about it all being a fake? Akki shook his head, there wasnt time to argue as the last sentence was cut short, coming out in static. "You must hurry.  The key to escaping is inside the bo...Yo...m..t...get to t...end...pedestal...door..." Akki shoved himself into the corridor, hoping his comrades would follow. Once inside he would walk sideways, allowing slightly more room to move. No one could see, and he doubted there would be anything with chakra showing the way for a sensor. This didnt hinder Akki, as he raised his arms out, darkness raising from around him and spreading out in a thin layer over the entire corridor. "Ok guys, you need to listen to me carefully what im going to tell you. Ill relay everything i see." After Akki made his decision, he proceeded to begin another jutsu. Chakra would flow to his eyes, and they would become completely black. His vision changed, as his darkness extended from him with a radius of ten meters in front of him and in back, keeping his allies in sight and searching for any sort of clues. With Akki's activated jutsu he could see perfectly all of his surroundings from his darkness, as he was now seeing through it, as well as being able to see in no light what so ever. He would feel his way through the corridor with his darkness, as well as seeing any traps that would come his way, his sight extending past that of his darkness' reach as it moved with him, him at the center.

Spoiler:

Jake Haruno

Jake Haruno

Jake was confused, but as a shinobi there confusion was to be pushed aside, he had been paying attention but Haruno was unsure, It was only when Akki began to move that Jake followed out of gratitude. He moved as sson as Akki did following the other genins every movement making sure to grasp Wahyu's arm as he did. Jake didn't need to run. His fan which was located under him was easily able to glide himself and Wayhu over the floor. This meant they would not fall if they hit loose rocks. Landing on the safer area and retracting the fan Jake would utilize his sensory ability just in case. One could never be to careful. Safe now or so they hoped at this moment. Jake would nod to Akki's statement, his intuition had been right with the lever. "Your the one who got us through this first test...or whatever the hell it was. Whatevers going on we have to stick together. Kumogakure will notice that the three genin have went missing, Especially since Wayhu and i were with the Raikage...but this is the perfect time to prove to him and Kumogakure exactly what we can do" he said.

All Jake could see was blackness. It would seem Akki had some affinity with this form of element. He cursed himself for not learning an air based sensory having to fully rely on someone else was tough, but this was a part of being in a team. It would be tought if they encountered a fight. Jake had the feeling all three of them were solo fighters. he supposed sooner or later if they were kidnapped a fight was coming either way. "Akki, whats the plan" he asked softly still trying to detect something with his sensory.

She listened in to the voice echoing through the building as crickets echoed through it. She was just able to regain air just enough to breathe once more. She then carried on to hearing the hounds coming as her eyes went from relieved to feared in an instant. She then darted her eyes to the small opening and the floor cracking underneath. She however was closer to the opening and made it to there, She then held out her hand to Takeo. "Grab on!" She shouted as she pulled her hand back in getting him into the tunnel safely and seeing the floor crumble. As she made her way out she felt to mention in embarrassment towards her teammate. "Don't look at my behind...please." She didn't want to assume anything but she felt she needed to mention that.

Just as she went through and saw they were in pitch blackness she had some choices. "Alright well, I could either light up my chakra but I don't know how alone we are and those hounds are going to catch up, or I could try looking for chakra trails once more. But in the meantime..." She looked behind where the sounds were getting closer with the door booming with noise. "We need to go now..." She had decided to light up her sensory to find other chakra or chakra lines. Turning her eyes that light blue hue as before, hoping it would work.

Takeo's eyes lit up with excitement once the hidden door was revealed. He was too happy about him actually being right about pulling the lever to the left to question the presence of the crickets outside the room. Takeo looked around the room for the source of the booming voice that began to explain the situation and how apparently the Chunin Exams were a sham.

"But there is a chance you can escape.  If you can find a way to get the statues and open the door, you may be able to escape." Takeo quirked his eyebrow, confused as to what statues were being mentioned

Before Takeo could fully process everything said by the rumbling voice something seemed to be trying to knock down the door they originally came through. Takeo quickly left the room just, behind Hitomi. "Uh...okay." Takeo replied to Hitomi as they went through the hidden door. Not understanding why Hitomi had asked such a thing. "I'm not saying we shouldn't slow down but we might not have to worry about those dogs. Judging from what that voice said it sounded like they were there to make sure we moved out the room. Although you never know." Takeo said with a shrug. Doing his best to keep Hitomi in his sight despite the inky darkness around them. "I'm guessing we're looking for some statues or something. Hopefully we can get out of here soon." Takeo said with a sigh. Not liking all the confusion being caused by the series of sudden events.

(Cool I got a post off before work!)

As the audio began to broadcast throughout their chamber fragments of the their dungeon began to collapse around them. Akki had formulated his plan into motion, as he made a mad dash for the stability. Wahyu seemed to be watching the stones fall from above, before he began to speak to his comrades in arms.

“Wah—“

Was all the time he had to say before his left arm was clasped, as the floor gave way the room continued to deconstruct after a moment Wahyu closed his eyes tightly hoping he wouldn’t die, but before he knew it the two were upon holy ground. They were safe from danger at the moment, Akki had already began to lead as his eyes were supported by his Kekkei Genkai. He was the land navigator, do to his swift thinking, and talent not only had Akki allowed both Wahyu and Jake to processed further in the chunin exams becasuse of his actions, but also he granted them light where they had none.

Even though Wahyu liked the darkness he continued to fall in line behind his squad partner Jake Haruno. Wahyu wondered if they would meet the mysterious voice who provided support to their wellbeing. Who knew? Wahyu’s tiny footsteps mimicked Jake’s and Akki’s. As Akki was two meters ahead of Wahyu, while he himself trailed the Orange haired shinobi by one meter.

All Aki could see in front of him was tunnel.  Though for some reason it looked as if his eyesight was getting better in the darkness.  Slowly.  It was as if his eyesight was getting acclimated to the darkness that was the tunnel.  The same went for the other two members in the parties.  As the would proceed down the tunnel they would find themselves quickly and suddenly on the edge of a cliff with enough light in the cavern to make it appear as if it was a late dawn.  Though they would not see any form of lighting.  If they cared to look down they would see that they were on a 80 meter cliff face that curved inward instead of straight down.  This would make climbing down more difficult.  Jake sensed nothing from the surrounding area.

If any of them looked they would see that the cavern they were in was quite massive, easily 250 meters across and nearly twice that in length.  On either end of the cavern were three sets of tunnels.

Team Musashi

Hitomi's chakra sensing wouldn't pay off in the ability to see the tunnel but she would see small 'particles' of chakra floating through the air.  Their progress in the dark tunnel would be slow due to the lack of sight but luckily the tunnel did not branch in different directions.  Though as they did proceed they would find their eyes getting acclimated to the darkness until it was like they were walking outside during pre-dawn.  And then the light nearly blinding them.  As the slowly rounded the corned in a tunnel they came face to face with a batch of pink moss on left side of the entrance and white moss on the right.

Team Kirigakure

As they duo traveled through the darkness they would find themselves being able to see slightly better. It was probably their eyes acclimating to the darkness. Then suddenly they were in silence. Or what they thought was silence. Faintly, behind them, was the sound of rushing water. It appeared they were going to be helped along be the force of a thousand tsunamis. Or a rushing river. Whichever they preferred. Even if they tried to outrun it they would eventually be caught by it. Of course this would make their travel faster, but also incredibly dangerous. If they tried to walk on water they would find that the way the water was travelling and the water itself would not allow them to. This last for several minutes, being water-boarded by the flooding water that is, until they suddenly found themselves falling about thirty meters down to a large pool of water that smelled like clovers.

Once they got out of the water they would find themselves in the midst of a rather square cavern. Around 75 meters by 75 meters with large pillars going from floor to ceiling that was around 40 meters above them. Also next to the pool of clover smelling water was a batch of grey moss.

Toshizōu was surprised, the little girl wasn't afraid of the site of some blood. She could prove to be extremely useful in a tough situation, possibly even taking the other team by surprise if they chose to take very chaotic actions. Either way Toshizōu was fine with the outcomes though. He grabbed the girl once more to put it on his back only to hear the sounds of water once more. They were quicker sounds this time though. It was almost as if the sounds were getting near too like they were going to be...flooded out.

"Shit," the young Kaguya managed to stammer out before a wave of water hit him directly in the back. The waves covered up the entire tunnel and there was almost no escape from them. He was being water boarded in a tunnel for the amusement of those watching. Both him and the girl were dragged with the current of the water and were dying in the process. He was being swept away and was losing oxygen extremely fast until the duo were washed up by a lake that smelled of clovers. On top of that there was weird gray moss next to him. Suddenly aware that the young girl wasn't attached to him Toshizōu frantically searched throughout the room. There was no way with a current that big that the young girl could hold on. He couldn't immediately find her at first she was probably near some where. The Kaguya gritted his teeth and pulled himself up, wet clothes and all.

"I'm going to murder whoever did that..."

Deep hatred was pouring out of the Kaguya. The audience nearly killed him to speed up the process for their amusement. This didn't sit right with the hot tempered Genin and wouldn't sit right for quite a while. He could have died in that current of water and all for entertainment. He was definitely not in the mood to be fucked with anymore.

Shinku Oshiro

The Second Crimson Princess

The sound of rapidly approaching water reached the ear of Shinku Shurajo, and all she could do was to turn her head before being overtaken by the full force of the water. Having been on the back of the Kaguya, the tiny Shurajo had no protection from the powerful waves, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t maintain her hold on the Kaguya. Dragged under the powerful force, she attempted to hold her breath, but being tossed about as if she were a ragdoll, she would release it. Water invaded her lungs, and she knew for certain she had involuntarily gulped down a lot of it, but that didn’t really matter much. Her head throbbed, the lack of oxygen getting to her, and despite her best efforts, she could no longer hold onto conscious. Her body would grow limp, allowing the water to do as it pleased for she could no longer struggle.

Yet sleep would not hold the Shurajo for long, for upon dropping thirty meters and colliding with the waters below, her eyes would snap open. Pain coursed through her tiny body, for she hadn’t entered the water gently, and she proceeded to sink to the bottom, but having little desire to die, her limbs would begin to frantically claw through the water. Upon breaking the surface, she would greedily gulp down air, albeit her lungs burned with every intake. She coughed and wheezed as her limbs work to keep her afloat, and her eyes darted around the area, looking for a way out of the water. Finding it, she would swim towards the smooth rock, crawling the rest of the way out before she collapsed in exhaustion.

The smell of clover hit her nose, but she didn’t notice with the pounding headache that she had. She laid there for a while, getting her breathing under control as well as waiting for her headache to turn from a painful throb to a dull one. When that had finally, she would push herself onto her hands and knees, eyes darting around looking for the boy who was her partner. “Onii-san,” Shinku said, albeit her words didn’t go over a whisper. Shivers began to wreak her body as she pushed herself upon weak legs, her body having not yet recovered from the pounding it had just received. But she chose to ignore the aches and pain, for finding her partner was her top priority, she could recover later.

With her hair and clothes sticking to her, and only one shoe, Shinku looked like a drowned sewer rat. But that didn’t matter much since her partner also looked like one, she knowing so since she had found him. With his back to her, the Shurajo would scramble over to him, latching herself onto his leg for one reason or another. "Onii-san."

Aerie's body began to twitch as the air in her lungs escaped her. Wyte would follow suit and their body would shut down: a sign of fainting. However, the dark blankness in her cranium only lasted so long for the door had let in a wondrous moist draft. Aerie and Wyte began gasping for air as they were really fish out of water. Soon, their lungs began to circulate the air properly and she opened her bright brown eyes. Wyte was right beside her, wincing because of her headache. Aerie would begin to pet her head lovingly. " I'm glad you're alive. " Aerie would say shooting a smile at the mentally wounded feline. Wyte would simply frown and look up at Aerie. " I wish I could have done more. " She'd say, her English-like accent sounding sorrowful. Aerie would raise up using her hands and pushing from the stone floor. She would sheath her blade and turn to Wtye. " No. You did what you could. " She would say, still smiling.

Wyte would slightly smile, but not completely certain on that. She would shake her comically large head and her wings would manifest. She rose from her position and hovered above Aerie. Aerie turned to Zevas to see if he was okay. It was safe to assume he was since she had exerted more chakra than him in that exchanged. Nonetheless, Aerie wouldn't wait on him to begin exiting the horrid death chamber the sick chuunin exams officials called "The First Trial". She would begin to crawl through the tight, yet gaping hole in the door. Fortunately, her quick thinking and lack for patience helped them advance. " Alright, let's have some fun. " She say, her eyes growing intense as she held onto the hilt of her blade when she wandered through the narrow cave. The wind gusts were perfect and well appreciated. Aerie was happy to breathe normally, again.

As Aerie walked on, she noticed there were no footsteps following her. She and her flying feline companion would turn and see her partner missing. The cause of this? Unknown. " Zevas! " She would shout, looking around for him. Unfortunately, she was all alone now. Without him, her chances of finding the statues were lower than they already were. She had no light, nor any enhanced vision like her former squad mate. Aerie would only shed a few tears, she had only just met Zevas a few days before the exams. She wiped her light brown eyes with her slightly pale hands and rose from the stone floor. She would shudder in place, wobbling a little. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

She would swallow hard and her palms began to moisten. Anticipation filled her chest and the spit felt like a rock sliding down a chute as it filled her stomach cavity. " Child! " Wyte would shout, turning away and beginning to float off. Aerie would shake her head and follow. " Sorry, Wyte. " She'd say back, Wyte simply shook her head and continued on with her partner.

[ Let me know what Aerie and Wyte come across as they continue on through the tunnel. ]

Akki looked down the cliff, wondering what he should do. His darkness pooled around him and his comrades, not seeing anything. He deactivated his umbraragan, not needing it anymore as it was more than bright enough to see. Akki walked to the edge of the cliff, his darkness coming up and pooling around him, reaching out in front of him. He motioned for his teammates to follow, to step onto his darkness. Once they did, Akki would lift his hand up slightly, the darkness moving the group forward and off of the cliff. From here Akki would lower his hand, causing the darkness to slowly fall, slightly increasing in speed as the group headed towards the ground. Once they neared the darkness would shoot out, creating a pole like form and slowed its decent, coming to a rest as the trio reached the ground. The darkness would move out from under the people, sliding through the grass as Akki took a few steps forward. He looked around, looking at the caverns on each side of their position. He turned around to look at his allies.

"What do you think we should do next?"

"nothing comes up on my sensory" Jake would say of course that did not include the chakra of his fellow shinobi, that he could sense fine. He would continue to walk though would refrain from any other statement, making sure that he kept his sensory capabilities activated just in case they would run in to any hidden surprises. As they came to the cliff face Jake would peer down sighing. He could get them down safe enough but he would prefer not to spend any more chakra than he already had. Thankfully the man who got them through the first scenario had been here. His darkness formed and Jake with his sensory detected it with ease. Though his eyes had adjusted. Jake would smile at Wahyu and step on to the darkness cloud. Once Wayhu followed they would flow downwards. Coming to a stop at the bottom. As Akki spoke Jake would simply sigh. "I'm terrible at things like this. No clues or ideas to go on" he would say gently. His sensory still active in case it caught something.

Wahyu and the crew had been walking for about three minutes before they all had escaped the enslavement of the shadows. The boys stepped into illumination being able to view more than just silhouettes of objects.

The youngest of the three musketeers stepped forward towards an edge. Wahyu looked down trying to estimate out how far the bottom would before pulling out his ding-a-ling. He spread his left and right legs a total of sixty inches, and let the magical jutsu begin. His stream marked strongly against the rocks of the palisade before gathering up sinew to lift off Wahyu yellow jutsu projectile would take a while before it finally hit the earth, and followed its own way. Jake, began to follow Akki as he became the lift attendant. As the trio began their descent towards the earth, Wahyu continued to let his yellow jutsu flow over the earth.

As they reached the bottom Wahyu has sheathed his naked sword. Jake, and Akki began discussing with one another as if seemingly completely at a loss. Wahyu paid them no attention however as he began weaving hand signs while calling upon his chakra to geniture produce an apparition from his own. Wahyu’s eyes were closed shut, as he pointed his left and right index fingers in opposite directions giving off the locations of three tunnels.

"Look..."

Wahyu himself had sent his Majin ahead to scout the area for what was inside the pathways, and outside of them.

It was difficult to see, let alone with what little of a trail there was of chakra it only slowed her pacing and she many times had to stop and re-trace to get back on track. With the straight path ahead however it was easy to at least go on ahead. She also felt odd how she was able to use survival tactics almost entire time however her teammate hasn't been able to.

"Hey, don't take this the wrong way but...why'd you join with me? I mean, our team is kinda incomplete...but I just joined to see where I was at." She asked to him as they walked on. Perhaps as before they'd be in favor here but there wasn't much telling considering if there were too many left from the first one. However the good news at least was they're eyes were adjusting to the dark surroundings."There's only one path, not like there's much to follow anyhow but it seems this might go a bit better."

With that as they neared the colored moss, it took a minute to look at them before she noticed the color and texture of them both. One had a crystalline-like structure where the other was more earthy and yet flowed like a liquid when touched. She then decided to think out loud on this issue. "I've seen these, in a herbal textbook...One's called Icelandic moss, the other being Peat moss." She explained the terminology of them with her medical knowledge as she reached out to one of them. "Go ahead and get the Icelandic, it's more beneficial if I'm correct, and we might as well take the path with it. We'll need as much as we can get if we want to last through this."

She said taking bits and pieces of the moss as described, She seemed to know what she was doing and perhaps even where to go. "I would say get the Peat moss too but, it's probably a trap. Not to mention we'd need to treat it like a poison, which we both don't know how to use properly." She stated grabbing just enough to carry along with in a pouch before going on. "I dunno why this is growing here however, Peat is only found in sunny forests and Icelandic is found in very cold bushes, how would they even grow here in a dark place like this?" She asked confusedly as she went on. So many questions, no answers, and just keep going until you fall or find an exit it seemed. She did however knew she needed to cancel her jutsu to conserve some chakra for later.

Team Musashi:
After collecting the moss and travelling to whatever tunnel they wanted to go through, they would find themselves in a rather jagged tunnel. As the team traveled together, they would find their way to the end of a tunnel of which they were walking. The rocks of the end of the tunnel were rather jagged and pointy which was unfortunate due to the fact that the walls seemed to be closing in the further the group walked. One would need to squeeze through and hope to avoid any nasty cuts and bruises given by the dry stone blocking their path. Anyone of a portly size would surely be stuck in the tunnel, not able to enter. However, those who made their way into the clearing would have a nice surprise for them.

Upon exiting the shallow tunnel, a massive opening could be found, a single torch placed to illuminate the area. While everything seemed safe, the rocks were actually quite loose, a single shake could cause the whole thing to fall down. The entire opening itself was seemingly round, almost like a circle. Based off a glance, it seemed as if it was about 15m in diameter. To the left side of the room, a small pond could be seen, filled with freshwater.

To the north of the room, there was a single pedestal with a square box on it. On the pedestal, a tag reads "What runs all day
but never walks
Often murmurs
never talks
Has a bed
but never sleeps
Has a mouth
but never eats?"

The group would be left alone to decide what to do in this area. Though, if one payed close attention, slight rumbles could be heard.

Team Raikage:
The all of the tunnels were dark. After entering whichever tunnel they wanted they would find themselves in a rather wide tunnel leads the way into a cave room similar to that of Team Musashi. However, this one is much wider and requires significantly less crawling to reach the entrance of the room itself. Though once in this room, nothing but rocks can be seen everywhere.  Though these were not ordinary rocks. These rocks were completely square shaped, lying atop one another lackadaisically. The pedestal for the next statue was not laid out in the center of the room like the last. This one was on the wall, ten meters in the air. Naturally one would try to use chakra control the climb the wall, however a Fuinjutsu seal was sealed in the room, right above the pedestal, preventing the use of chakra on the earth in the room. Each of these stones are the same exact size and perfectly rectangular. Each weigh nearly 200 lbs. Should one make their way to the pedestal, the box rests on top and the pedestal reads

"My tines be long
My tines be short
My tines end ere
My first report.
What am I?"

Team Kirigakure:
Aerie continued to travel in her tunnel. At the opposite side of the area from where they entered they would find a single tunnel. The two tunnels would open up in the same room as two parties of each made their way to the same room. In the first was Aerie, as she traveled alone. The second would be Kouketsu and the girl who clung to him, Shinku. The pathways would be averagely broad, however both parties faced a booby trap, as they drew the short straws. Should either of the group touch the walls in any way, explosive tags at the top would erupt, sealing off their pathways. However, should they walk normally they would be fine. As the two made their way into the chambers, the ninja of the same village would now be together in a party, able to solve their puzzle together. In their room, the pedestal dangled from a single string held high in the air. The weight of the pedestal hitting the ground would be enough to shake the cave and possibly have it collapse. However, this string was holding it quite easily. Should the group manage to retrieve their statue on their pedestal, the puzzle would read:

"What passes before the sun, yet makes no shadow?"
