Mission:

“… New pathogen.” Chikara uttered, a confused look upon her face as her crimson eyes stared into that of the scientist, his being blue in color. She scrunched up her nose, as if she had smelled something distasteful, folding her arms across her chest before cocking her head to the side, her face going back to that neutral look. It was clear that the Shurajo didn’t believe that this particular scientist was capable of finding a new pathogen, nonetheless the others that were apart of his crew. Kurisu, the black wolf pup that she had adopted months ago didn’t seem to believe it either, yawning in utter boredom and looking around the lab with disdain. She agreed with the pup wholeheartedly, but she couldn’t back down from the mission that had been assigned to her. She sighed deeply, abruptly spinning upon her heel and walking towards the door, Kurisu close behind her. “I shall get you those blood samples, but I personally think that you are panicking over nothing.” Making one fluid motion towards her sister, she would exit the lab and thus the building, stepping into the cool afternoon air.

Scooping Kurisu into her arms, she would turn her gaze upon her little sister, not all to enthusiastic about this job but she would do it nonetheless. “Since we need four blood samples, I say we split up. I shall go retrieve two samples and you shall retrieve the other two. We meet back here in half an hour,” Chikara said, as she walked pass Shinku. “Oh yeah… your blood doesn’t count.” With that said, Chikara continued on her way, intent on retrieving two blood samples as quickly as possible, though she would also ensure no harm came to her patients due to her haste. Kurisu, with his small frame, was content with resting upon the head of his leader whilst she drew blood from the two villagers that had agreed to it. One had been a widowed woman who had been quite frighten of the prospect of a deadly pathogen and thus offered up her blood, until she had realized that she had an irrational fear of blood and thus tried to back out. With no desire to find another person, she told the distressed woman to focus on Kurisu and nothing else whilst she drew the blood, and that if she looked down she only had herself to blame. She listened and Chikara was able to retrieve her blood without a hitch. The next person she had drawn blood from was a middle-aged man who had been apart of the shinobi forces before deciding to retire. With no fear of blood on his part, she retrieved his blood swiftly.

Twenty minutes after splitting up with her sister, she would arrive back at the lab, placing the collected blood samples on the counter of the scientist from earlier. Soon enough her sister would arrive with her own samples, and thus with the four required samples, the duo were done. Not wanting to stick around for the results, for she already knew that the pathogen would be harmless, Chikara ushered her sister out the building.

Shinku Shurajo

The Second Crimson Princess

Going around and asking people for a blood sample in the name of science hadn’t been an easy task for Shinku to complete, at least not as simple and easy as she had expected. Apparently when a female who was of short stature and really young, people didn’t tend to take their request seriously, not quite willing to believe that a child of her age would be tasked with collecting two blood samples since they didn’t expect her to know what she was doing. Sure the scientist at the clinic could have easily taught her how to extract blood from a patient, but rather or not the child remembered was of some concern to the civilians. Yet she would not be deterred from the task at hand for sister was depending on her to bring back the other two blood samples, something she would be having better luck with achieving since the civilians knew and loved her. Unlike Shinku who was a recent addition to the village, though she had already managed to attain the rank of Chunin, in record time no less. But the villagers believed it to be luck and thus continued to view Shinku as the younger sister of Chikara, though they were rather suspicious of her and for good reason.

But Shinku didn’t allow for that to bother her, she didn’t really let a lot of things bother her, and so long as she had the companionship of Chikara, Kurumi, Kurisu, and Arisu, she would be fine. So she continued the search for somebody that was willing to have their blood extracted from their body by an eight-year-old Chunin aspiring to join the Anbu corps much like her sister, though for a much different reason. Where her sister was joining to fulfill a promise she had made to the Mizukage, Shinku was joining because her sister was joining, something people would say to be a terrible reason but than again the young Shurajo didn’t care much. It wasn’t like anybody outside of those apart of the Shurajo household knew about her plans to join Anbu, and thus she didn’t have to worry about people attempting to dissuade her, telling her of the dangers that those apart of the Anbu faced on a daily basis as well as the things they had to do in the name of the village. What the Anbu did was no different than what she was use to doing, and thus she would fit right in.

But that was enough musing, back to looking for potential blood donors, which she was able to find, luckily for her. An elderly man who was in his sixties had agreed, stating that he would be happy to help the scientist, especially since they were in need. And seeming to have no concern for the fact that a child was drawing his blood, he allowed Shinku to take a sample from him. Ten minutes later and she had found a middle-aged female who was willing to give a sample of her blood in the name of science, having minor concerns with the fact that an eight-year-old would be drawing her blood, but allowed it to happen anyways.

With the two blood samples in hand, and after thanking the two for their blood, Shinku would head back to the lab, arriving five minutes after Chikara. Placing the blood samples onto the desk, Shinku would comment on how successful the day was, scooping Arisu into her arms as the two Shurajo and their pups headed home.
