Mission:

Cleaning the entrance to the village as well as the outskirts of the village hadn’t been something that Chikara wanted to do; exhausted from the amount of missions she had been bombarded with. Sure simple measures had been thrown at her, but when one does them on a regular basis and without a break they tended to get tired out. So it had been no surprise that when she had emerged from her house to complete the task at hand with her sister and their pups, that she was working quickly. She had every desire to go home early and thus taking her time collecting trash wouldn’t actually make things quick. Knowing that her sister was tired, and probably would be a very unhappy Shurajo if she were not able to get some rest soon, Shinku to work fast, at least faster than she usually did in the eyes of Chikara.

Stuffing wrappers, cups, bottles, etc., into the bag that she had brought along, Chikara and Kurisu were both doing well to complete the task as quickly and as efficiently as possible. There was no need to be called back outside because they had failed to complete the task earlier. And to be frank if she were called back out to redo the job that she had sloppily done due to being tired, she would definitely flip out. So they checked every nook and cranny for garbage that needed to be off the streets, whilst also lecturing those who dare throw garbage upon the streets, especially when they should had noticed tow girls and two wolf pups picking trash up and stuffing them into the bag.

Honestly, Chikara didn’t think it was that hard to throw away garbage, especially when there were trashcans on every street. Well, maybe not every street, but certainly on every block, which was basically every street now that Chikara thought about it. But that didn’t really matter since that still didn’t explain why people had to be so nasty. She wasn’t the sort of individual to fight for the cleanliness of the environment, for getting involved in such a thing wasn’t something on her agenda. Nor did she really have room on her list to put it even if she wanted to add it to the agenda, which she didn’t.

She glance at her sister with tired eyes, head snapping down to the ground as she caught the silent yawn of her pup from the corner of her eye, and knowing full well that Kurisu needed a nap, instructed her sister to pick up the pace. The duo that consisted of Chikara and Kurisu did the same, picking up the trash with much more haste than they had earlier, though rushing hadn’t really worked in the favor in the end for the two would need some time to rest thirty minutes into the task. It annoyed Chikara greatly that the task wasn’t complete, but instead of going back out and overexerting herself, she decided that resting for five minutes wouldn’t be that bad. At least not for the moment since whilst she and Kurisu rest, Shinku and Arisu would continue to clean.

Content with watching their respective younger sibling, the two sat underneath one of the trees that lined the streets of Kirigakure. They hadn’t sat underneath if for shade, since the sun was rarely able to pierce the thick mist that the village was known for, but it wasn’t like they would welcome the sun anyways. Working underneath the sun only proved to make people hot, sweaty, and ready to punch anyone and everybody in the face in irritation. Something that Chikara herself would never want to do since she had an image to keep up, at least for the moment. She honestly couldn’t wait for a time that she was placed into the Anbu corps, for than she could definitely do some missions that she liked doing as well as fade into obscurity until she decided that the Anbu life was no longer for her. Apparently her sister had intentions of joining the Anbu as well, though she was only doing so because her older sister was, something that Chikara found to be adorable.

After musing for what had seemed like no more than three minutes but was probably ten, Chikara and Kurisu would continue with the task. And in the next hour, the outskirts and the entrance were clean and Kurisu and Chikara were at home, sleeping upon the couch.

Shinku Shurajo

The Second Crimson Princess

Cleaning had never felt like a chore to Shinku, more like a civic duty since she was allowed to remain in the village with the blessing of the Mizukage, despite the fact that her origins and whereabouts prior to her arrival in Kiri hadn’t really come up. Even if they had, she doubt that she would had been able to answer those questions since she had never bothered to take note of where she was, when she was there, what she was doing there, who she was there with, and why she was there. They were just questions that she hadn’t felt the need to ask since she wasn’t really all that concerned with the who, what, when, where, and why aspects of things so long as she got to play a game. Her sister would probably know more than her, but her sister wasn’t really the sort of person that was prepared to share information about her upbringing under the Gremlin Project, and Shinku really couldn’t blame her. To be frank, she didn’t wish to talk about the project either, though not out of guilt, no just about every ounce of remorse she had possessed had been squeezed out of her. But she didn’t want to talk about the Gremlin Project because people would look at her in an entirely different light, and thus she didn’t care much about the opinions of those outside of her circle, it was still good to ensure that the villagers thought you to be good.

So without being told to, Shinku had kept her mouth shut about the Gremlin Project, doing well to not spill a single detail about it since the last thing she needed was a scolding from her sister. But that didn’t matter much at the moment, especially since what the Shurajo sisters were doing at the moment had nothing to do with what they had become accustomed to, and thus were in no danger of changing public opinion of them. Her sister always said that they had an image to maintain, and Shinku would certainly maintain that image, a good idea if she ever had one. So despite the fact that like Chikara she would rather be slaughtering an enemy of Kirigakure, she would humbly clean the entrance to Kiri and the outskirts of the village.

But she could understand why her sister completed these task begrudgely. Low pay, hard labor, a lack of sleep, and not the sort of person who liked picking up after people, cleaning duty was everything her sister despised in a mission. So being bombarded with such missions really wasn’t helping her mood, nor that of her dark-haired pup Kurisu, both being quite similar though one was much more lethargic than the other. Shinku kind of felt sorry for the two, as did her light-haired pup Arisu, the white-haired wolf being much like Shinku though more prone to listening to the commands of Chikara. With her ability to change interest in a split second, as well as wonder off without so much as a word, keeping an eye on Shinku, and also keeping her on task was quite hard for her sister to do. Sad part of the entire thing was that Shinku wasn’t doing it on purpose, she just couldn’t help but see whatever caught her interest and drop whatever had lost her interest. She was working on it though, for not only the sake of her sister, but for Kurumi’s, Arisu’, Kurisu’s, and her’s as well. She had been tasked with the primary care of Arisu, but if she couldn’t give Arisu her utmost attention, well than she truly couldn’t call herself the pup’s primary caregiver.

She sighed, eyes glancing at her sister who was now coming back to clean up, having forced herself to take a break earlier since she was exhausted thanks to all the missions the two had done over the week. There really wasn’t much left to do, for Arisu and herself had taken care of most, but just to make sure, they combed over the area, picking up a stray wrapper or whatever and stuffing it into the garbage bag before deeming that the areas to be clean. And thus, they went home.
