Missions:

From regular old frogs to poisonous ones, Chikara was wondering rather or not the staff was remotely competent, or at least held an ounce of common sense. Losing regular frogs hadn’t been much of a big deal, they were simply hard to catch but otherwise posed no threat to anyone, unless said someone had an irrational fear of frogs or was possibly allergic to them. Now losing poisonous frogs was an entirely different story for the simple fact that these frogs were smaller than their non-poisonous counterparts and that picking them up nonchalantly wasn’t an option. Thus all within the building were in danger, including Chikara, Shinku, and their respective wolf pups. So much so that the pups were forbidden to help the girls with the task for they didn’t wish the pups to get poisoned and perhaps even die over such a silly mission brought about by incompetent hospital staff.

With the option of picking up the poisonous frogs was out of the question for obvious reasons, Chikara had been sure that Shinku and herself wore long, tight fitting pants, closed toe shoes, long sleeved shirts, and gloves upon their hands. A change from their usually attire which always consisted of a simple dress, but they would only have to wear this for the day. So there weren’t many complaints by either Shurajo sibling, instead the two had split up, agreeing to take care of half the hospital and meet one another in the lab where they had gotten their glass case. It was not only to count down on time, but to also take advantage of the fact that there had been two glass case on top of the fact that they needed to work fast before harm could fall upon a member of the staff or a patient or even a visitor. From her understanding, the patient rooms had been locked upon the frogs escape, showing that the staff had at least some intelligence in their heads. Visitors had also been confined to the waiting room or a vacant patient room, as well as the staff, leaving the halls free of people and giving the frogs few places to hide out.

So it hadn’t been much of a surprise when she had spotted two frogs as she walked down the hall, Kurisu close behind her. She commanded for the pup to halt as well as to stay back, having no desire for the pup to be struck by one of the frogs if it chose to jump. Disappointment was written on the face of the black-haired pup, but otherwise Kurisu obeyed the command of his leader, something that he had done since Chikara had become the leader of the pack. So lying down upon the white tiled floor, his black eyes would watch as Chikara set down the glass case before quietly and slowly approaching one of the brightly orange colored frogs. She was sure to not immediately pick one up, for despite being covered from the neck down, she had no protection for her face. So she first tested out how high they could jump so that she knew how low she could bend down to retrieve them without fear of the frog jumping in her face. And thanks to the frog’s small body, it couldn’t jump as high as it larger but non-poisonous cousin. She measured the jump to be about five inches minimum with fifteen inches being the max height they were able to jump.

Thanks to these measurements, retrieving the two frogs and dumping them into the glass case had been easy enough. Upon securing the lid and motioning for Kurisu to follow, the two proceeded with the mission, finding four other frogs within their area before heading back to the agreed upon meeting spot. For once, Shinku was already there, her glass case containing four hideous orange frogs with Arisu sitting on top of it. With the threat of the frogs now gone, and with them safely back in their containers, those who had been confined to the many rooms within the building were allowed to leave, or in the case of patients, rest easy. With their job done, the sisters would head home with their pups, Chikara hoping that she never had to chase down frogs again.

Shinku Shurajo

The Second Crimson Princess

Kirigakure Hospital should be forbidden to carry frogs of any kind, or venomous animals for that matter, until they had some competent individuals on their staff team. An accident was an accident, she knew this to be true for she had caused plenty of them, but never had she set loose poisonous frogs upon a hospital, nor had her accident ever caused or threaten harm to anyone. On top of that, she was an eight-year-old little girl who had little sense of fear, little to no remorse, and would do anything so long as it warded off boredom, the faculty had no excuse for their incompetence, at least not one that would be accepted by an adult nonetheless a five-year-old, but like the incident at the academy, Shinku wasn’t there to hand out reports but to get rid of the problem. And she had come prepared to tackle it head on, not literally though, there would be no tackling at all. Covered from the neck down and various pieces of clothes, her sister had ensured that the chances of them getting poisoned by hideously orange frogs was low. And though she didn’t like long pants, long-sleeved, turtleneck shirts and closed toed shoes, or shoes at all for that matter, she would wear them simply to ensure her own safety.

Her sister had also given Arisu specific instructions to not attempt to catch the frogs or to even assist, for the wolf pups would definitely be at risk of being poisoned due to their only protection being their fur coat. She had even reiterated this fact to Shinku, repeating it twice just in case she forgot, which she was actually known for doing though it wasn’t a daily occurrence. With instructions to meet her at the meeting spot, the two had split up, going frog hunting on the opposite side of the building, their respective pups trotting behind them. With the glass case in hand, Shinku couldn’t carry Arisu, who was looking mighty dejected since she couldn’t help out. She wanted to comfort the poor thing, but there was a task that needed to be complete and she would complete it as quickly as possible. She wanted to for once in her life complete a task before Chikara did, and for that to happen she couldn’t mess around, something that was rare indeed though shouldn’t be expected of her.

The group that consisted of Shinku and Arisu would soon come across their first poisonous frog. It looked like it was attempting to squeeze itself into one of the numerous hospital rooms, which were closed and securely locked, something which it was failing miserably at doing. Not the sort of person to calculate how high frogs jumped, Shinku slowly placed the glass case upon the floor, removing the lid and setting it beside the box, using one hand to shoo Arisu backwards. When Shinku believed Arisu to be out of the danger zone, she lunged for the frog, missing it by an inch though she was quick to recover. No longer possessing the art of surprise, Shinku circled the frog, which eyed her carefully, knowing full well what she intended to do, though that piece of information would do little to help the creature in this situation.

She once again lunged for it, mismatched eyes watching as the frog leapt into the air, though it would land in her ready, gloved hands. Without hesitation, she would plop the frog into the glass case before immediately placing the lid on the case, making sure it was secured firmly before picking it up. With the jerk of her head, Arisu would approach; tail wagging as she trotted right next to her mistress. With a smile on her face, Shinku would continue to the search for the frogs, something, which they completed in record time though, she had only managed to retrieve four of the ten orange frogs. But she was happy since she had arrived at the meeting spot first. Setting the case on the counter and placing Arisu upon the lid, Shinku would take a seat, petting the light-haired pup as she waited for the arrival of her sister. Ten minutes later and her sister would enter the room, her glass case possessing the remaining six frogs. With the task complete, and with smiles all around, the Shurajo household would head home, all with little desire to chase frogs ever again.
